Hey Tara. Best mum in the world. :)
Its all really confusing isnt it when you see you're baby change their regular patterns for no good reason. I sat at the end of Ella's cot patting and patting (for 1hr) and realised once i think I've got her into a routine it all changes, then i realised how many changes she'll have in her life and it hit me - there is no pattern. It hard for us who have adult commitments but i think its ok as long as people are patient with us and we are with ourselves.
I thought we had Ella into a better pattern of patting and then BAM she got a fever yesterday. Just out of the blue. No runny nose or cold just hot. I've dosed her to bring the fever down put her to bed at 6 but she woke 3 times last night for a feed.
Fingers crossed she doesn't develop a cold.

Thanks Ann, i agree i think that there are just so many changes that it is hard to make a steadfast routine - or even just something you do everytime. like i said, we've got building going on next door today so it threw my new settling routine out because there was no way evie was going to be able to lie quietly with all the banging going on.
i'm really trying to just go with the flow. she's having her second nap now so hopefully having one later this afternoon will work really well.
my HEAVILY pregnant, due 2 days ago SIL was just over and said she's not feeling good - i hope this is it for her...but i have a feeling it isnt! poor dear, it does make me get really excited about having another baby though!
-
well that was a complete disaster. i tried for 2 hours to get evie to sleep this afternoon and then remembered why i cut out that afternoon nap and put her to bed early after all.
there was no way in hell she was going to sleep, i got upset and angry and had a break-down, which was fantastic when dh is working a 13hour shift today.
i dont think i'll be doing that tomorrow
-
*hugs* is there anyway u can try keep her up a bit longer in the morning before her first sleep so then her second sleep is later more closer to the arvo? hope u have a better day tomoz hun.
We had a good day today went and visited my nanna she has dementia :( she doesnt remember me but she loves seeing Emelia, and i like to still see her. :) its pretty sad she is so healthy but her mind isnt iykwim

Hey everyone
havent been around much, been busy really, 3 kids and teenager (nephew) in the house keep me busy, i have found that housework can keep you busy all day, but stuff that lol, i am cutting that down to less that 2 hours!
DH has been home due to the crap weather so he has cut right into my computer time, he is horrible when not working, he was so excited tonight as he is back at work tommorow lol, but i am just as happy he wont be here too!
Cooper is going well, besides sleeping, was the best sleeping baby but not anymore, ah well cant have it all i guess, he has a tooth coming up, well has been there awhile but just slow coming out, and kinda crawling but not that great at it, loves standing up more(with help)
MIL arrives tommorow, but havent seen her in ages so she will be ok until she annoys me, but she knows not to bother as i will say something anyhow
i have read up on this thread but wont reply atm
talk later

HI Belinda! Now Aston will have to share the girls...lol...he was getting a bit lonely being the only boy.
IKWYM about DH and not working. They start to drive you a little mad after a while. The weather has been so odd this last month. Definately cut down on the housework...there is a saying about women with clean houses.. I always know that its time to get out and about, or start painting, when I start ironing clothes again! I stopped ironing when I had Nathan (only do it know when I have something that needs to be ironed and we are going out), and periodicly there have been times when I have started doing it again - until I have thought hang on a minute there are better things to be doing then ironing...lol. Sounds like Cooper is having all the same sleep issues that Aston is having - fun eh?
-
Good to hear from you belinda.
Ella's the same. Use to sleep well now she's a different baby.
She had a fever for the last 2 days and the GP says she has a virus but didnt prescribe ABs and said to continue with the Panadol. We had an awful night waking every few hours and not being able to go back to sleep so we were patting rocking and patting.
DH and I were going to see a movie tonight but now we're not sure if we should. I suppose my MIL can handle things for a few hours but i would feel so guilty...

Ann: i know its hard but i am sure the MIL will be fine and you wont be gone that long, but if you arent going to enjoy it and worry then probably best to go another time
Vicki: I havent ironed in ten years and not planning on starting again lol, but thinking of housework i better get some done, mother in law will be here soonish
Cooper ended up sick overnight, has a stukffed up head and is really hot, so just keep up with medicines until tommorow, if still sick tommorow will take him to doc, always worry about them having an ear infection, but he is generally happy enough, just not well
he is0 here helping me type so better go
hope everyone else is having a good day

Good to see ya back Belinda!!
OMG cant believe Chelsea (and Aston) is 7 months today! Where has the damn time gone?? They no longer babies but big kids!!
We had a shocker lastngiht with getting to sleep. Went out ysterday (BTW great to meet ya AJP :P) and then last night 8pm Chels was so tired, bathed and gave bottle, put her in bed and would cry.. wouldnt stop.. got her up...rocking.. no sleep... so come 930 still wouldnt sleep so Criag and i thought ok car ride... no luck... we ended up at Woolies doing the grocery shop.... 1130pm.. she crashed! Then whimpered on and off all night.....at FDC today so im hoping she sleeps and i told DH to tell the carer to feed her on time....not sure if he did tho!
Just finished doing some pumpkin for her....ive bit the bullet and giving homemade food a try :)

good job Kim.
seems everyone really is having trouble with sleeps. last night was a shocker for us too, i got up to evie once before deciding that i didnt have the energy so put her in bed with us, she slept for 3hours so that was good.
she just threw up an entire feed all over the bed but i think she just ate too much! i'm feeling quite flu-ey so i am praying we dont get sick!
was meant to babysit today but didnt - well i did for a few hours this morning but lets not go there!
anyways hoping evie will go down for sleep #2.5 soon (the .5 is the one she had in the car!)
-
ARGH!!! I want sleep!!! I want to be able to go to the toilet without listening to my baby scream. I've got uber velcro baby here today... stupid teeth! She's up every hour or so even in our bed & has slept today for 20 minutes after trying for an hour & then just now had a 45 minute sleep because I was holding her. When I tried to put her down twice she woke up & started screaming straight away. She won't even go in her sling today... bah I'm over it :(
I *know* its just a phase and won't last, but its soooo annoying going through it.
-
Luua- Ella feeling any better this arvo??
Tara- How did Evie go with her sleep? hope ur not getting sick
*Hugs* Christy, hope those teethies come up soon
Good to hear from u Belinda :)
im sure Chelsea will love ur homemade food Kim, i love making homemade things for Emelia! tried her with avocado today, she hated it she was dry reaching to the taste!! it was kinda funny watching the faces she was pulling trying to get it out of her mouth lol so then i gave her some carrot, sweet potato and brocoli and she scoffed it down its her favourite!
-
KIM it was great to finally meet you and chelsea, even though i wasnt therre long!!!!!!
well sleep must nbe bad for all of us!! been up the past two night at 3 wed night and 4 last night for feeds but luckly back to sllep amd today whingy at nap time which is most unlike her
got the wonder weeks book yseterday and it's expected around this age, well for sophies been a litle older anyway!!!
-
Oh Christy, i hear you. is there someone who could come over to watch jovie while you have a sleep?
Kim - how did the food go?
AJP - apparently the wonder weeks book is going out of print. pleeeeease tell me that fussy phase is around the 7mth mark as well!
Blanche - looked at Emelia's online album today, is that her standing holding onto the bath?! she looks so tall!!!
Evie went down for her nap this afternoon, for 1/2 an hour but i was still sleepy so snuggled her in bed next to me and we slept for another hour. she's just had a bath and gone to bed so we'll see how she goes tonight - fingers crossed!
tried her on some banana today - not too impressed!
She's going through that thing at the moment and its exactly what she did around 4mths as well where she doesnt want to be fed/rocked/patted or anything to sleep! so what seems to be working is if i just put her in her cot after a cuddle and stand there shhing or she plays with my hand...well, thats what its been these last couple of days...so we'll see!
-
It must be something in the weather! we were up and down all night last night too! Aston has a cold still, I was sure it was turning to croup at about 10pm last night (Nathan had croup several times - with stridor and had to be hospitalised) so I closed the windows and door to the ensuite and turned the shower hot on full to get some steam into him. it seemed to help for a little while, poor little man. and of course I was anxiously listening for the god awful sound to spring into action if need be. Thankfully - no croup developed, but not alot of sleep was had either. So heres to all us tired mummies!!! that said, I'm off to have a glass of wine....Hope everyone's night - including mine - is better then last night.
-
Glad u got a bit of sleep today, and i hope u have a really good night too!
yeh thats her holding onto the bath, she loves standing!! will have to see how tall she is at her next CHN appt in july! i think she has had a growth spurt, she is almost taller than her cousin Jasper who is 1year and 4 months!!!
-
Aww sorry to hear Aston still isnt well, hope he gets better soon? wat is croup? (sorry if dumb question) i really hope we all have a goodnight!
probably another dumb question! is there a baby yogurt or do they just have normal yogurt? im clueless
-
