thanks..i cant wait!! last time i lost 12kgs i fell pregnant with Emelia lol so gonna be making sure we use those raincoats!!!
Id lost 9kg.. and then it started coming back... ta Chels...lol... i was goin so well at the gym too!!
Now I have the cold!! And I can't find anything to take other then nurophen and panadol - any suggestions as to what I can take while breast feeding - just want to stop my nose running.
Aston is on the improve, and has been sleeping better at night. No tooth yet, but the edge of his bottom gum is so sharp - he has bitten down on me while feeding, and it certainly felt like a tooth was already there!! I think its not very far away.
Christy, with the rolled oats do you you prepare them just as normal, or break them down more? I have been thinking about trying aston with them, but wasn't sure how to prepare it for a bub.
I prepared some meat for him over the weekend for him to try this week. The carrots had no reaction - other then him only having a little of it - cheeky monkey prefers fruit doesnt he!! Oh well, at least he is eating now without any tummy pains afterwards.
Kim and Blanche - I'm the heaviest at the moment that I have ever been as an adult! and I'm not happy about it! I'm hoping that i can start pilates once my back is all good - and it will move this tummy - plus help strengthen my back. Good luck with your diet Blanche - are you doing it yourself or weight watchers?
have a good day anyone.
vicky i have just preparted some oats for brekky for sophie!!!! i just boiled some oats in water then strained and pureed, i did however had a cube of EBM and a cube of apple as i was very bland!!!! the avocado was fine defrosted as well!!! stayed the same green as before i freezed it
mmmmm the cold- i dont think theres anything you can take i had a blocked nose so used euky bear and then nasal spray, stuff some tissue up there!!
Hey Vicky - i take lots of echinacea and vitamin C. The chemist also has a bunch of natural options under the Brauer brand. They always check that its OK for BF mums before i buy it. Poor you its so miserable being sick and not being able to rest. But sounds like Astons on the verge of getting teeth. Ella's gums felt like that too and then a week later BAM there they were.
Christy - Ella loves her oats and apple too. I cook them so they are really mushy and chunky.
Ella is STILL sick. The fever came down on Sunday morning but she hardly slept all day. She had 1hr in the morning and then 1hr in the afternoon. Last night was horrendous - up almost every hour since we put her down. I've also noticed once her fever came down she's developed a rash....i'm sure its from the fever but we're going to the GP to check it out. Its all over her back and chest and head and neck. I hope its not an allergy to panadol! because she was having that quite regularly!! arggghh...
Ann
ANN poor ella :( hope she's better soon!!
Vicky the porriage didnt go down that well, not sure if she wasnt hungry at all cos she didnt want anything to eat
Vicki - hope u find something u can take for the running nose..im doing the tony ferguson diet have u heard of it? my mum started last week and she lost 4 kilos in 4 days!! i did weight watchers last time and it worked well for me but i just couldnt get started on it this time.
Luua - let us know how Ella goes at the docs
Ajp - Emelia wouldnt eat anything this morning either ..very strange, very unlike her!
No idea if Chelsea ate anything cos she is at care!! LOL... i sent her with a nice but to the point letter on her feeding and napt times too... so lets hopeit gets thru to her carer :P
With the oats I make it up with water & add extra water so its very watery. Then I mix in some apple puree & sometimes I give it a whir in the bamix or stick blender and that gets rid of most of the lumps. But the last few days I haven't tried to mix it and left the lumps & she's happy. Today I tried some mashed food rather than pureed & it didn't go down well... it was peas and carrots so maybe I'm pushing her too far. LOL how do you know??
I went on a diet 2 months ago & my supply dropped so much I decided I'd wait until I've finished breastfeeding. I was so dissappointed because I was ready to start and try to loose weight but I had enough problems building a supply up I don't want to loose any.
Vicky I can second the Brauer's homeopathic range... that helped me heaps with my sinus cold I had a few weeks ago. I just went to an equpped chemist and asked about it. They have it in tablets as well as a baby range which is okay to take while you are breastfeeding.
Ann - I hope Ella is okay??? When are you going to the GP? Its so scary when they keep temps for a long time. Matilda had roseola and it was 4 days of high temps then a rash at the end. I thought it was so scary.
AJP- great news about the avocado, going to go puree some up and freeze it now. I have 4 avo's sitting on the counter ready.
US... well Jovie's slept better the past 2 nights, still no day sleeping :( Honestly I don't know how she does it. I need to rest during the day & I can't figure out how to get her to rest at the same time.
hooray! she likes avocado! i actually really watered it down and she was quite happy to sit and eat it, so i think i've just been making her food way too thick.
and of course, i gave her avocado way too close to bed time last night so she was up all night with a funny tummy.
Vicky, i remember you saying that aston had some unsettled nights when you started on solids, did it just take him getting used to it and then it calmed down a bit?
now if i could just get these naps happening!
Thanks AJP and Christy on the oats preparation, and the cold remedie info. I will have a look at the chemist for some- I feel foul! (oh yeah - thanks too about the avocado - going to do the same thing.)
Glad Evie liked the Avocado Taralee. Yes Aston did have a funny tummy for a while when we started food. So I went to just giving him pear for a couple of weeks. then moved on to other stuff. We took it really slow after the stopping and starting...and that seems to have worked, becuase now he is eating three meals a day, and is pooing regularly too. His system must be ready now for it.
Ann I hope Ella is ok - its scary when they have continual temps, and they can't tell you where it hurts!
Blanche - I haven't heard of that diet. Good luck with it - I'll barrack for you from the side lines. Are you starting an exercise program too of some sort? I want to start pilates to get my stomache back into shape. Three babies, and three c-sections, the muscles are stuffed, and that has lent to my back being bad.
Kim - I hope you FDC listens to your letter, and takes on board what you have said. How are you feeling? Any better?
God I wish I could to bed - but a little hard to do that with bub, and boy on board. Laura has gone to a friends for a sleep over, so it is just Aston and Nathan. Will just have to lounge around I think....
The carer better listen!!! Me...im feeling pretty down and out still.. had a breakdown to Craig last night that ended in a screaming, teary match.....for both of us...i had a talk with one of the girls from BB today and it has helped a little..but not solved anything.
Blanche ive heard of that diet.. mum was gunna do it.. but never did...lol.
i dont even want to know about diets! i think i'm a few kilos heavier than before i go pg, but i feel podgy. a few people say i look teeny but i think they are saying that to make me feel better and its making me feel worse!! i have a lot of body to try and fit within my short 5ft!!
blanche, my nurse-lady said that babies cant digest weet-bix until they are 10mths...i dont know whether thats true or not, but if emelia has a sore tummy after it then that could be why
Hugs Kim...hang in there hun. I hope you get it sorted soon - don't forget that you have a billion hormones pumping though your body at the moment, which makes EVERYTHING worse...
oh my goodness, DH & I never fought... we never got to voices raised ever until I was pregnant with Jovie. The stress of having a little one & being pregnant is full on Kim, please be gentle with yourself *hug*
Roseola. That's what Ella has. 4 days of fever and then a rash that covers their torso. It takes 2 days for the rash to disappear. I dont know how she got it?!
I hope tonight will be a better night for sleep. She was up every hour almost last night and i'm a walking zombie today. Had a meeting at work - hope i made sense.
Kim - its awful. Hate fighting with DH - he's hopeless at reconciling problems and likes to walk away from them. It irritates me and then I go after him and snap at him. Hope you can sort it out tonight. Hugs :)
Ann
Vicki - im just going to be walking everyday, i cant stand gyms and ive tried pilates before wasnt for me though!!
Tara - thanks for letting me know about the weetbix, Emelia doesnt seem to be having any trouble digesting it though lol!! she ate her lunch fine, think she wasnt really hungry this morning see how she goes :D Glad Evie liked the avocado.
Hugs Kim, if u ever need to chat about anything im here :D
aww porr Ella, hope she gets well soon
Thanks ladies.... your all so supportive!! Things are kinda being solved now.. after pouring my heart out i think ive now made a decision im sure Craig will be happy with....and within time ill adjust to as well :)
I cant believe how common roseola is. kids got it all the time at kindy, i think it's in saliva and stuff, not airborne. but not entirely sure.
glad you're feeling better kim
hope everyone has a good night
btw - this crawling thing is not as great as i thought it would be. evie's worked out how to push buttons on the dvd and stuff and as soon as she's on the floor she makes a beeline for it and just smiles when i call her back. lol so cheeky
Ok Chelsea now has her pics on the site in her high lo chair....lol....lil munchikin!!
awww Kim she's so cute!
Ann I thought roseola only because of the way you described it. Poor sausage, hopefully she'll be looking up soon now.
haha very cute!!
Kim - Glad you have started to sort things out - even though by the sound of it you will have some adjusting to do... Chelsea is such a little poppet isn't she, how long is she?
Blanche - walking is the best exercise. I have been missing it so much! When my knee starting hurting, then my back went, I haven't been able to go for days and days. That's probably half my head problem at the moment, no natural endorphins running around. my back is feeling heaps better, as is the knee, so i hope to start again - last physio appointment today, so I will see what he says.
Taralee - we have to go shopping for a cabinent to put all the tv stuff in for that reason, to stop pressing buttons. Even though aston isn't quite crawling, he still rolls over there, and gets the PS3 button!! You have prompted me to act sooner rather then later, and we will be looking later this week for one! How did Evie go last night?
Ann- poor baby girl Ella, I hope she is feeling better soon, and for that matter mummy too! Don't you start work soon????
Christy - how's Jovie doing? I know what you mean about needing to lay down, and how do they do it! yesterday all I wanted to was sleeeepppp. I ended up being able to lay down about 4.30 when Aston had a late afternoon nap...lol. Better late then not at all I guess.
I've been feeling really flat for the last couple of weeks. All the stuff that has been going on in my life (other then having a 7mth old baby that doesn't sleep through yet) has finally gotten on top of me, and on the weekend I really felt like I was going to implode. I have suffered from PTSD, depression and acute anxiety disorder in the past, and I could feel symptoms of all three of them rearing their ugly heads. Yesterday I had some friends over with Babies (a couple of the ones I met months and months ago at the parenting young babies 6week course) and it made a difference to my well being. It was nice to laugh and chat, and be relaxed. Right up until someone arrived I was ready to cancel. But are glad I didn't. I have to make my self do stuff that feeds my soul, otherwise I feel like it may just surrender to the darkness. When you have moments of "light" in your life you remember what its like to smile and laugh, and feel good... so I am on a quest to find lots of moments of light...
Thanks for putting up with me, and my moans and groans...
Yeah VIcky there will be alot of adjusting to do.....but like every other time.. i get by :)
Chelsea has always been little. She was born 48cm...and at last measure around 3 weeks ago she was only 61cm and 6.9kg. Has always been under average and the nurse reckons she will always be a petite little thing.
had a sh*t of a night last night. i think she got too cold..i never know!
she just keeps waking up crying, i dont know if she really needs something or not but she doesnt stop crying until i go to her...i'm so lost on that front.
funny everyone talking about fights, we had a good one this morning...over what else?! money of course. i dont think guys get how hard it is for mums to leave bubs with someone else. not only that but if i go back to work f/time i also am up all night plus have all the other household chores.
my good ol' irish temper strikes again!
Well I think the last few weeks have caught up with me. We've had colds and then Matilda had gastro and then visitors and teething & last night we were up for a few hours in the middle of the night & I just couldn't face the day today. DH got me up & to the lounge because he was supposed to go in early and made me coffee & while he was getting ready for work I fell asleep on the lounge & spilled coffee all over me & the dog. Luckily Jovie was rolling around on the ground watching Matilda. Then DH made me get up & have a shower to try to wake up but I wound up falling asleep in the shower... I sat down... strange and luckily I cleaned the shower yesterday ;)
So DH stayed home & put me to bed & took Matilda to day care & I got to stay in bed for 3 hours!!! He's just made me another coffee & is taking Jovie to the shops with him to get food for the house.... I still feel like I could curl up & sleep for hours, so I think I will take advantage of him staying home & do just that.
It appears my carer had 90% listened to me..YAYAYA
Chels was last feed in care at 530.... much better then the usual 630-7. So i was able to have her in bed at 9pm and she slept til 8am. Had a feed and back to bed for 2 hours. Now she is refusing to drink her bottle..lol
How nice of DH to stay home Christy to give you a break.. u deserve it!!
Christy - Hun I hear you on the tired front... thank goodness DH stayed home with you today, and I hope you have been able to sleep some more. I swear our bodies can only take so much before me start to fall apart at the seams.
Kim - yay on the FDC listening to you. Hope it continues - and makes your life easier.
Me - i'm off to lay down myself whle the boy is asleep....
Christy - hope u got some good sleep darl and feeling better :D
Vicky - its been a bit hard going for a wlk atm with this rain & wind!! hopefully it will clear up soon so i can walk twice a day!! glad to hear ur back and knee is getting better!
Kim - Glad the carer listened!!
we had a good night last night only woke once for dummy and then this morning i brought her in my bed and we slept till 10 woo hoo havent had a sleep in for ages :D
i gave evie some oat cereal today and oh my goodness. after 4 hours she was projectile vomiting something chronic, again until there was nothing left in her stomach.
so i'm guessing that for some reason neither rice or oat cereal agree with her and we'll just stick with fruit and vegies from now on!
i gave her a piece of green apple to suck to settle her tummy and she loved it, so thats a plus!
Oh poor Evie....Chels likes to suck on apple too... love watching her face... she screws it up... but keeps goin back for more
aww poor little Evie hope shes feeling better now
What an early start we have this morning! Aston woke at 5 and no amount of bribery was going to get him back to sleep. fed him, put him into bed with us, patted his bottom - nope he was having none of it, so I got up! Sitting in the study, so the other kids can keep sleeping, while he plays. Funny little monkey.
dont you hate that vicky!!!5 is far too early!! did you see that you can know become a platnium member again?????
nice arvatar kim!!!
Argh... sleep sleep sleep... where oh where did my little sleep go? oh where oh where could it be?? ;) Slightly delirious today, but much better than yesterday I must say. A day of resting & sleep has done me the world of good. DH actually got to the bottom of it, he said
"doesn't your body start pushing more iron out for Jovie?" YES
"and aren't you always borderline anaemic naturally??"YES
"So... shouldn't you be taking iron supplements??" YES!
So I've been taking the iron supplements I took when I was pregnant because of my low iron then. Hopefully in a day or two things will pick up energy wise.
Thanks AJP.... can only wish i looked that good IRL!
Well we had no wake ups overnight....:)
But today im feeling so down and out.... feel sick and yuck. Have a GP appointment at 11 to see how bub is and how im going.
Hope you find some energy soon Christy!
im awake and Emelia is still asleep lol..i could have had another sleep in but silly me got up thinking ah she will get up soon!! that was 40 mins ago lol always the way isnt it?!!
Hope the iron tablets help quick Christy!
Gp went well..bub HB was good, BP good, put on 1.6kg and got in troble for it...not allowed to gain no more...so i guess M2 has to stop growing?? lol
Also booked into vampire for glucose tests.
When u getitn ur Av Blanche?
how do i become a platinum member?
evie didnt sleep too great again last night, i said to dh i dont know what i'm doing. i really dont.
i should be taking iron too, maybe thats my problem. i'm anaemic normally as well..but i forgot about it
