fantastic Tara I hope it keeps up and your nights settle down.
I haven't been bowling in ages - am too competitve tho and I suck at it too doesn't make a good mix!
I have just started enjoying a glass of wine at night now that Jake is sleeping longer than a few hours - I found even if it was 3-4 hours before a feed it upset his reflux. Hmmmm, now I look forward to it!
AJP - was it the possums upsetting your dogs? Hope they've settled down.
Ann - is it possible to offer her water every second feed at night so she feeds better during the day? Is she on solids? Maybe there's too much distracting her during the day and she prefers the night bocs they are quieter. Would a quieter place to feed help? Hope am not overstepping mark offering this advice...
Our 1 year anniversary I was pg and ill really badle, and our second I was BF and exhausted from nigt feeds! :D Maybe next year....
Have a good day girls - I've been working on my photo gallery today!
oh - dumb question - how do I do a ticker thing with pics in my signature?
:p
-
IM feeling much better today....a day recovery helped alot!! Just a bitta ms i think....had to come yesterday though..grrr
Nelly make a ticker on tickers sites, mines Bump and Beyond, but theres also Lilypie...there the 2 i use... and then u can add a pic and at the end it will give u code to place into your profile section on here. Make sure u get the BBcode tho!!
-
If you make one & have a problem putting it into your signature, just post the BB code here & I'll put it in for you :)
-
well it's a day for revelations!!! first tara with evies feet, mine ....drum rolll
i worked out why sophie want eat!!!!.....she hates the spoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
worked it out tonight when she would eat off my finger so i changed spoons and she ate all her tea aarrrhhhh something as simple as that. will let you know tomorrow if it was definatly that, my luck will be were back to square one.
nelly not sure if it's the possums but we think it is, we have someone who may take him for us, not what we really want but maybe the right solution :(
-
Chelsea will only eat off certain spoons too...hates Tommee Tippee ones... i cant think of the brand that she likes but you get 2 in a pack. One is for mum and the other is for bub....!
-
WOW AJP, I hope its the start of something!!! Jovie loves teaspoons... My friend stuck one in the fridge & said to give it to her while I fed her to numb her gums & its her favourite thing atm.
-
i was using one of the hinze rubber ones switched toa chpao plastic one and she eats!!!! christy might try the fridge thing thanks, did you get my pm?
-
aren't they funny little fuzzy things...lol. Aston is the same - will eat like a champion off some, and others fusses about and turns his nose up them - well actually raspberries them! I use the ones you use Kim, and since I got them him has been great with food. Now if I could just find a magic formula for making him sleep through the night!!!
I told DH that I really want to try and stop feeding him during the night, and that if he goes into Aston in the night NOT to speak to him, avoid eye contact etc - DH says to me "but he's so cute..." mmmmmmmmmmm.... Yes well I want him to learn that night time is for sleeping NOT having a chat with dad! DH will go in, smile at him, say hello, nooo its nigh nigh time - and wonder why he is flapping his arms around and squealing in excitement! Me on the other hand, lay there for a bit listening to see where its going to go, then walk in, grab the dummy, put in back in, without looking at him in the eyes, roll him over, pat his bottom, walk out...
fingers crossed that DH listened to me, and we have some success....
-
btw - I would love to come into the chat room...but for some reason I can not get in there. and not for lack of trying, and because my head space at the moment is not too great, I don't have the patience or energy to try and figure it out! so maybe another time soon I will have solved the puzzle as to why my damn computer won't let me get in!
-
a question i have been meaning to ask and keep forgetting - when do you start offering food BEFORE breastfeed? I can't remember.
-
I was told milk then solids
-
vicky i've been offering food first for around a month now, not that she's been eating much  if she has boob first theres no way she'd eat at all!!
-
thanks for that. i'll still do what I'm doing then...
-
i was told once they are eating 3 meals a day probably around 9 -10 months, but who knows!!! guess when bubs is ready
-
oo vicky i didnt know about feeding before bf'ing....good q!
NO SLEEP LAST NIGHT!! what the hell happened?!?! sure he bed time was all screwed up cos we were home late but i have no clue anymore! try something else tonight!
-
well tara if you still on cloud nine, and you haven't had much sleep you doing wonderfully! we had an alright night here. no luck with no feeding in the night! tried, but in the end gave in. don't think i have the stamina required to create new habits at the moment.
I can now at least see a login for the chat rooms, but it doesn't recognise me - when i read more it says i need to register...where????
-
moved evie to her own room today...maybe its another missing piece of the puzzle. altho there are mirrors on the wardrobe doors so she spends all her time playing with the new baby! shes having her first nap in there now
-
hope its a success. u may find that she sleeps better now if she cant hear u and dh durubg the night. fingers crossed
-
Our world is completely upside down.
She wont sleep, wont eat.
She's up every 2-3hrs feeding at night then is not eating during the day. This morning would not look at breakfast or have a proper feed. I swapped spoons and tried finger food (on my finger) and she's not hungry. She just wants to play. She's now ONLY feeding at night. And will only settle after having a BF! What's happened!??
She's lost 300gms and her wet nappies smell really strong...She wont drink water she only sips at it. I'm taking her to the GP tomorrow :(
And to top it off i'm back at work on Monday ...
Nelly - thanks for your suggestions. Will try the water at night but she is not keen on taking the bottle.
Ann
-
ah Ann *hugs* I have no idea... I know Matilda went through that a few times. Wanting to be up & playing in the night & not feeding during the day. Its really frustrating.
Jovie had a better night last night. The thing thats worrying me atm is that we were given a walker & I only used it to go to the toilet or for 20 minutes at most. Lately she's been in it all the time & can now use it to actually walk (before she was just sitting in it). I know that they aren't good... but I just love having the peace from velcro baby. And I can do things like the washing up or laundry without her crying during it because she wants to be held all the time. whew.... turned into a vent really LOL>
-
i used to use the jolly jumper like that for nat Christy. it was that or my sanity!!! you have to do what gets you through hon. if it makes it any easier, make a deal with your self that you'll use it for this amount of time at this time of the day - but even then you don't have to justify anything. go with what works...!!!
-
Ann I really sympathise with you but dont know what to tell you. i think seeing a GP is a good step forward.
Christy we looked at walkers yesterday for the same reason, i use a jolly jumper as well but i always feel guilty for walking away because she's so proud of herself and wants me to watch her jump! especially with the crawling at the moment there's nowhere i can put her down where she wont get into something. i need a playpen i think
-
I used a playpen with Matilda & it worked wonders.... with Jovie though its been hard because Matilda will jump in & out & lands on Jovie & Jovie screams everytime I put her in the playpen.
Vicky I put the oven timer on for 20 minutes LOL then sometimes I take her out of the walker & put her in the jolly jumper for another 20 minutes LMAO
-
We got Chelsea a play pen on the weekend and she adores it.. think she is so smart in it! Least i can do things without wondering where she has crawled off too
-
i'm thinking of getting a play pen for aston...just so i knowwhere he is. this house is huge, and i'm likely to loose him...lol
-
We got ours from Big W, on special for $98. Theres some pics of it on Chels' site.
-
i put evie down for a nap and it went quiet so i thought 'ohh! she's put herself to sleep' went in to check on her, she's wiggled out of her wrap, crawled to the edge of the cot and is standing up laughing at me! cheeky little miss!
*note to self: remember to put up side-rail!*
-
AW how cheeky....lol
Chels hasnt learnt to stand yet... YET!
-
oh thats scary!!! I'm so glad Jovie's not close to being there yet. She's almost started crawling, minutes away really
-
kimbaz have found Jake likes the "take and toss" spoons. They are a pack of 10 or 12 for approx $4. Really good and not too huge.
-
I've been doing food first for about a month or so, and he has dropped morning tea feed, now down to 3 feeds.
-
thanks nelly
thanks Kim...will have to have a look out for a play pen
n ow i have finally figured out how to get into the chat room HOW FUN. was just what i needed. conversation with other adults. not as good as face to face - but the next best thing. it was great
hope to see you all in there some time
-
Christy - I think this is what I need?
Thanks for your help!
-
hey kim, that looks great. I think I will be off to big w tomorrow to get one. is it easy to move? like does it come apart easily - just so that I can move it from room to room...iykwim
-
Nelly, Jake is a hunny....how cute!
Vicky... the chat room is fun....see u in there time to time! Yeah play pen pulls apart very easy and u can put these poles in is and hold it together and can carry it by handles too. So handy!!
-
yay nelly - now we have a piccie of jake...who is an absolute cutey!
-
Thanks girls! I have also gone a bit crazy and done a album in the photo section!
Sorry haven't been in muh the chat room is very addictive - I've seen a few of us in there! Did anyone stay in for the baby chat last night? I had to go to bed by 9ish I was exhausted! And then Jake had a crappy night... at least DH is still doing nights and got up to him (hourly from1) but I still woke up!
Now I have a ticker I feel like a "real" member!
Now playpens - a friend has just lent me one. Jake is starting to pull himself onto his feet on everything and crawled properly for the first time today! might have been sooner but we have polished wood floors and his legs were slipping out from under him! Do I start using it now?
Jolly jumper - was worried with it on polished floors would jar his little bones? Any ideas or am I being a paranoid new mum?
Ann - GP is prob the best thing. Sorry I can't offer anything else but I really hope it sorts itself out!
Gotta go the goblin is up!
-
i just want to have a breakdown! i feel so tightly wound up over her sleep! she's woken up twice in 2 hours but i could just put the dummy in and walk out again. i'm so stressing about it, i just want to work this out.
-
oh tara *hugs* :( I wish I had some answers for you
-
Hugs Tara... i hope it eases up soon for you.
