sounds like she is coming along wonderfully Christy. Will be interesting to see how she turns out sleep wise compared to matilda. You'll probably find her to be a breeze LOL.

I so agree! I was so scared of having an induction this time round & thats why.:
I know the drip with syntocin is supposed to make your contractions more "effective" but for me with Matilda it was like going from niggles to being hit by a truck in 10 minutes.
Inductions dont sound good at all!! Have seen them on tv and they dont seem the best, so will feel lucky that i havent experienced one myself
Christy: Glad that Jovie is going well for you, Cooper is pretty well much the same, a sleeper
Hi,
I had my baby on Sunday 5th November. She was due 23rd November. Her name is Serenitee Annaliese Zayvia. 5pd 11. 43cm long. 31cm HC. She is smaller than my 35 wker was.
I look forward to getting to know you all better. I already know Naomi, she was in my belly group.
Congratulations on the arrival for Serenitee. Look foward to getting to know you. I should be in this thread but Ashton too arrived early ;)

thanks for reading guys,i felt heaps better after talking to DH on sat night, but writing it down also helped as i have something to go back and read from time to time just in case i forget. being induced was the only thing i wanted to avoid, even had acupunture booked in for the thursday!! never got there though.
definatly dont want an induction next time, but because my waters had been broken for 24 hrs, i didnt have a choice and i understand things dont always go as planned, but at the same time i know what i want for next time.
Sophie is going well, gained 100g in the first week then 260g over the next 5 days!!, feeding every 3--5 hours and not complaining, wish the 5 hrs was over night!! length from 50cm -51.5cm and head from 35cm to 35.3cm, so all good. we went out today to show her off to work collegues so shes a little tired now, so she had boobie then bed.
cristy i hope Jovie turns out to be good sleeper!! but i'm like you, knowing that things can change in a heart beat, enjoying it while it lasts.
congrats kristi on the birth or serenitee, when does she come home??
Yeah well things changed today ;) hehehe... spoke too soon!!! She was awake from 6.15am-10am and really unsettled the last 2 hours... windy, kept falling asleep & then waking up pulling her legs up & crying & I would pick her up & she would fart or burp and then be awake and want more boob... she seems to be very hungry, hmmmm.... then she slept 3 hours and has been awake for almost 3 again really unsettled but not screaming or anything, just windy... gave her a massage & mum is walking around patting her atm to give me a few minutes off. Hopefully it will settle & be a windy day LOL
Hi,
Thanks for the welcomes.
I think i may have confused some of you when i said Serenitee is smaller than my 35 wker was. My last baby was born at 35 wks, Serenitee was born at 37wks 3 days.
We spent 6 days in hospital and are both at home now.
We had our first health nurse visit today. Serenitee is not doing so good in the weight dept. She was 2570gm born, 2530gm on friday and 2480gm today. She is 9 days old and hasnt regained her birth weight again yet. This is concerning because my last baby was and still is "failure to thrive", i really hope Serenitee isnt FTT.
Goodluck with serenitee's weight Kristi. Ashton who was born at 2630g (5lb 13) dropped to within 20g of 10% of birth weight lost and a couple of midwives were close to putting him back into hospital. Thankfully he picked up when the final decision was going to be made.

Hello all...Going okay. Jovie still sleeping for 3 hour stints but then she feeds & takes an hour or two to settle back to sleep. She seems windy... So I am following my instincts with that ;) She slept last night from 12-6am!!! OMG! My boobs had a chance to recover from all the cracks that are feeding a windy baby.
great sleep she had Christy and glad things are going ok, Cooper was pretty bad last night but did sleep overnight once asleep
what a fantastic sleep Christy!! I hope her wind issues settle soon and that those dreaded cracks heal quickly.

WOW christy, 6 hours sleep!!! you go girl!! longest we fo for is 5hrs but thats through the day would be nice if ti was over night!! Just started to express today need some for fri night and sunday night, only got 20 mls so have lots of work to do!!
Sophie has eye infection so i tried to squirt BM in it, missed and got it all over her head!!! was pretty funny, she wasnt impressed though, hopefully will clear up over night and we can avoid a trip to the Dr's.
Kristi i'm glad serenitee is home and hpoefully she'll start putting on weight soon.
AJP - if you keep missing her eye you can sterilise a teaspoon and put EBM on the teaspoon and pour it onto her eye. Ashton had conjunctivitis last week and that is what another mum told me to do, but I was okay with aiming for the eye LOL

Hi everyone hopefully I will be joining you in here soon. I was in belly buddies with Naomi and Kristi but now I think I am the last one left! Bub is due next wednesday and I am hoping she will be good and come right on time and not leave me hanging!
Hi everyone!
Macauley has conjuntivitus too at the moment and i have been using breastmilk, but the dr has put him on some antibiotic eyedrops just to fully clear it up
I'll come back and post more later, have to get ready to go to the hospital, today was supposed to be my scheduled c-section
I hope my little guy has put weight on today
Fingers crossed for some weight gain Naomi. Day 11 was when Ashton started going up in weight and continued to do so. He had a couple of days of weight gain prior to that but lost it again at the next weigh in. So hopefully it isn't too much longer for Macauley.
Love
Naomi I hope he's put on weight!!
Bon I hope this little one comes close to the right time! Would be nice ;)
Well... our little sausage continues to be a good sleeper, just the getting to sleep is hard for her atm. She is very very windy still... and having mum here doesn't help. She just keeps saying "oh don't eat that.... don't burp her that way.... you shouldn't have any coffee..." urgh... I know some of it but I hate hearing it from her. I find when I try to burp her after feeding nothing comes out. So doing all our natural remedies for wind & then going to try some Brauers Colic tonight.
Christy, Sorry if you already know this, Try leaving Jovie for 10 minutes or so after feeding her before trying to burp her. She may need a bit of time to get it together to bring up IFYKWIM.
I only Burp Isla if she seems to need it, not each & every feed. Also it doesn't have to be a burp that happens, it could be a silent fart.
Oh I forgot, DH was asking me where you got the name Jovie from. I didn't actually know so thought I would ask.
Hi All,
I had my little man on 7th Nov, Melbourne Cup Day, just minutes before the big race, my DH was spewing as he missed it and had to watch the replay  LOL
I was reading through the thread and I'm a bit jealous of all these little babies, both of mine were over 4kg (9lb 2oz and 9lb 3oz), but I cant complain coz Xander was a good baby and so far so good with Baylee too.
Looking forward to knowing u all better.
Hi Robyn,
CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Baylee!! My little girl was born on the 6th, just before midnight.
Have you done up a birth story? I would love to read it.
CONGRATS ribyn in baylee's arrival!!! the more mums in this thread the merrier!!!
Who else has a baby who likes to have their unsettled period at everyone elses bed time?!!
hi everyone, i just found this thread,i didn't even think to look for it! Samantha is doing well, i am geting her weighed tomorrow so it will be interesting to see how much she weighs, she was born weighed 4.395kg, and left the hospital 4 days later weighing 4.050kg. When she was 8 days old she weighed 4.300kg, so i think that she might have put on a lot of weight in the following week. She looks so big now...
Be back later
Hi Robyn and Alison.
Great to have you both here.
Fiona - Ashtons awake time is usually when we are trying to get the other 2 ready for bed, so we pretend ashton is going to bed as well that way we get the other boys down alot easier LOL.
Love
AAAAHHHHHHH woke up with a sore throat yesterday and a cold today!!!! just what i needed, not!! will i pass this on to sophie? dont really want a 2 week old having a cold?
AJP, Are you breastfeeding? If so, then you will pass on the antibodies from your cold on to her through your milk. So if just does happen to get it from you it shouldn't be a bad because the antibodies would have started to protect her from it. Hope your feeling better soon. Rest up & eat well.
FJ i am BF and building up supply of expressed at the moment (am going to U2 on sunday night), would hate for her to het sick but passing on antibodies is reassuring.
Have recommenced sleeping on my tummy and boy it feels good!! though i really do miss my big preggo tummy i have to look twice at my reflection sometimes, forgotten what it's like to have a flat tummy again! cant wait to be pregnant again, should i be thinking those thoughts so soon! scary.
Hello! Sorry I've been quiet, Mum is staying here in the room where the computer lives, so don't have all access anymore.
FJ - Jovie is actually from the movie "Elf" the girl character's name is Jovie & DH & I fell in love with it. Apparently it means joyful or jovial.
Hi Alison & Robyn!!
Jovie's been unsettled heaps during the mornings, so not at all when Matilda is going to bed yet, thank goodness. Its hard enough getting Matilda to bed.
Ah ok, I will have to tell DH. I only wish Isla would have her unsettled time in the morning, not like I get to sleep in till 11 am like she does so she might as well need me then!
AJP - I have gone back to tummy sleeping too. Have fun at the U2 concert. I know of people that went to the Adelaide one, and all have said it was one of the best concerts they have ever been too.
Christy - I had been wondering why you were quiet. I forgot your mum was over
How is Isla going Fiona ?
Love
I gace Isla a bath last night at 8pm & she was much more settled after that, she had a sleep till & woke at 10.30 & back to sleep. Woke at 1.30, then 4.30. then 7.30 & up at 9. I can live with that:) . Its weird actually she hasn't been doing poo's at night & seems to really struggle in the morning. But then she just pops & you can see her face go "awwwwww yeah" LOL
hmmmm.... maybe she's working on them all night long.
Jovie seems most unsettled in the mornings so maybe we should bath her then rather than night. I've been doing massage in the mornings and she feeds for hours in the mornings on/off the boob until she does heaps of farts and then she sleeps for hours.
I don't want to brag but OMG at the sleep! I fed her at 9.30pm and then Matilda woke up at 1.30 and I woke Jovie up again to feed her while Matilda had us up and then Matilda woke us up at 6am again!! I can live with this... Jovie's night feeds are dictated by her big sister waking us up LOL. I wasn't going to ever wake a sleeping baby but it just seems to make sense feeding her while we are already awake... and she would sleep longer otherwise.
Rofl @ the awwww yeah face Fiona. I could just picture that.
Christy - sounds like Jovie is enjoying the sleep thing which is fantastic, so you so deserve that
Love
I would probably do the same thing Christy. I know if I have stayed up or am awake for what ever reason & know that I am likely to have to wake again in an hour or so I will wake to feed.
I think I would still wake to feed even if I knew she would sleep through longer. I don't think my boobs would allow an all nighter!
Yeah woke her up last night at 3am because she'd been asleep since 9.30 and my boobs were exploding. Took 90 minutes to feed her because she kept falling asleep... then I woke up in excruciating pain with my left shoulder, I fell asleep with her still in bed with me & apparently did some nerve damage over night, sort of like when you wake up & your arm is numb, but mine felt like it was pulled out of the socket. DH took me to emergency because I took panadol & had a hot shower & then was crying it hurt so bad, he said I was in worse shape than all throughout labour. So had an ordeal today... the Dr gave me some medication & I only took half the dose & got home to check & see if it was okay & it turns out it goes through your milk and to be advised from a Dr... well I was but I wasn't happy with it because its an opiate. Jovies been sleeping soundly all day. She is overdue a feed so I will wake her up because I want to make sure she's okay.
Thanx 4 the warm welcome ladies.
FionaJill- Where do I post the birth story?
Is it normal to have lots of energy? I dont remember being this energetic after I had Xander. He was just as good a sleeper as Baylee is, but I feel amazing.
Also, I havent had the baby blues yet with Baylee, do you always get them or not? I had the blues with Xander, but he was taken away from me and sent to the NICU at another hospital because his jaundice was so bad they nearly had to give him a blood transfusion, so that could explain why I was sad after I had him.
I dont mind that I havent had I cry, I'm just worried that I could be out buying groceries or something and I breakdown coz they have run out of tomatoes or something.LOL
You can post your birth story here in the birth stroies thread :)
LOL Robyn, I haven't really had the blues yet either. And I do have heaps more energy. Jovie sleeps a lot better than Matilda does. And her birth was a lot easier so I sort of figured that comes to play as well. I've had hormonal bursts but not as bad as the first time around. I think the second time you sort of figure that you will be emotional and give yourself a bit more of a chance than the first time.
Thanx FionaJill, I've just finished it so you can read it if you like.
I'm glad I'm not unusual Christy and the shopping centre will be safe. Maybe the birth and being second time around does make a difference, coz Baylees birth was alot better than Xanders also.
