Suse - I keep telling myself that, after this one... I looked at the teething chart I am keeping on Caden and pretty much the last 3 months he has cut a tooth every 25th day of the month! LOL,
Hope all is well
OK so i think the tooth is still working its way through we have had a terrible day  It has definately broken through you can see and feel it but she is still having all the teething signs really bad. I put her down about 6 times today but she didnt sleep at all. I ended up having to give her some nurofen at 6pm and she went down ok. I'm hoping our night is better. Well it should be as she should be tired from today :cryinglaugh:
DB- Glad work and daycare went well. Cant wait to catch up on Wed it will be so nice to put a face to the name. I will have to try not to call you DB though :cryinglaugh:
Suse- thanks for the congrats. Hope you are well.
Twinsis, Melz, June and everyone else hope you are all well.
Hoody - heh heh about calling me DB! I will wonder who you are talking to...
Daycare went well. He did end up with a bruise on his head but he always falls down anyway so I am sure he would have tumbled even if at home. I have an appointment Mnonday with a Family Day Care lady, so hopefully she will be suitable and I will feel better having a more long-term solution. I mean, childcare is great, but it is a bit too impersonal IKYWIM.
DH and I have discussed some serious issues lately and he feels he spends too much time "babysitting" Caden. I sort of feel the same, as it is not as if I am leaving them to have quality time, it is like I am leaving DS with a babysitter, not his father. We have adjusted our decision to have DH look after him Fridays when I go back to work, and instead will work MOnday, Tuesday and Thursday, and both have Fridays off with Caden. It means Caden will be in childcare 3 days a week instead of 2, but hopefully will be less stressful for DH and we will still get a day together (DH has own business and weekends are busiest for him). AND if I get a good family day care person then I will be less stressed about leaving him with someone else.
So anyway, will see how we go. I had to be so honest with DH about my feelings, because I really feel we have grown apart and that sometimes I feel like a single mother. He is so unattached to Caden and often seems resentful, and I run around expending lots of energy trying to "sell" Caden to him all the time and make it sound as if everything is rosy. I try to take lots of the pressure off DH but then I have to leave DS with him sometimes cos I have things I need to do and there is noone else to rely on to take him. Then Caden will be unhappy and cry and DH just can't handle it and I run around making excuses for Caden and getting angry at DH for being so immature! Whew! Sorry, had to get that off my chest. I am seeing a psychologist and she is great at helping me get things into perspective. I don't want to lose DH but sometimes I just wish he was a better man, ya know? I can't make him stronger or more able to cope, but I can't help but wish he was less selfish and immature. It is like raising two boys sometimes, and I thought DH was better than that.
Ok, no more negativity, better go, off to a girl lunch and then out for a hens night tonight so have got some hot pink pants to wear and hopefully (without wedding ring and child attached) will have a great night!
Hi Girls,
Wow can't believe all the stuff that has been happening (yeah yeah it has been a long time), so am hoping that you will forgive the lack of personals, otherwise you will never hear from me as there is too many to note.. :p
DB - my DH often felt like he was 'babysitting' Kimmy when I left them together but after our trip away, he is a changed man.. Suppose there is no escaping in a caravan. He was always good with her, but felt that I knew everything and made him insecure. He soon learnt that I guess a lot of the time till something worked, so hang in there..
And welcome Mummy Melz..
Well in our world, kimmy is still trying to crawl, and I am happy to keep it that way!! She has started to pull herself up on things while we were away and now has 6 teeth. We were really lucky and she adapted to sleeping in the van straight away, and we had a great time, although I was starting to miss my space at home after about 3 weeks, but otherwise was all good.
There is so much I could write, but really need to get an earlish night as I have somehow agreed to look after my cousin's daughter on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for a few weeks. I actually feel sorry for her cause she is only 4 and has just relocated from the UK last month. She was going to 2 daycares as she couldn't get into 1 for the full week, and was making herself physically sick about going to one of them, so I was asked to look after her. She isn't much hassle, but as my DH isn't too involved with other kids and feels that she takes our time together away.. I just can't win, but as he is away for 2 weeks with the boys, I see it as tough luck.. Anyhow, will run for now, but promise I will come in a little more often to say hi!!
Take care
Heather
P.S. Can't update photo till DH comes home with camera so I can download some more photos.. :wall:
Just wanted to quickly get on and say I am still alive. Have had no time to get on lately. DH has been really sick this week so has been no use around the house at all. Jacob has been teething again. He as ok with tooth no.3, but his fourth one is really messing him around. He has been sleeping pretty well during the night, but has been pretty grizzly during the days. I am not feeling the best either, but of course, no rest for mummy :).
Off to Melbourne tomorrow for four days which I am looking forward to, just hope no-one gets sicker than they are now. I might have to go and buy some of those ear plug thingos so my sinuses don't get blocked on the plane.
Hmm, all i've done is whinge, thats not good. Its not all bad, just feeling a bit sorry for myself.
Welcome back Heather, can't wait to see some photos!!
Welcome back Heather. You sure were missed its sooooo quiet in here at times. Glad you sound like you enjoyed your trip it would have been awesome.
June- Sorry to hear you have a sick househould. I hope by the time you return from Melb that everyone is on the mend. There is nothing worse than a sick family.
DB- thankyou for coming to see me this morning it was lovely to put a face to the name. Caden is so adorable- you must be so proud. I hope his bruise doesnt get any worse. I feel so guilty about DD1 been rough but i just dont know what to do with her. Its so hard when they are 2 i tell ya.
Melz- Sorry you didnt make it i hope your sister is ok. We can always catch up another day. Hows Ryley going anyway? Good i hope.
Well not much to tell here Molly is still teething madly i think no 2 will show its pointy white head in a couple of days. I cant complain too bad apart from super red cheeks and been a little bit clingier she isnt too fussed about it iykwim. Take care all.
Hoody - It was fantastic to be able to put a face to lots of words, LOL. Molly is even cuter in person that she is on the pic, I told DH that she looks like a little doll. Makes me want a baby girl now...heh heh. Caden's head is fine, just a small bruise. He now has 3, one almost gone, one purple (from yesterday) and one red (from this morning). Believe it or not, he is actually pretty good on his feet and manages to prevent most major mishaps. It is just the one or two every couple of days that keeps the bumps on his head, poor thing.
Heather - great to have you back after your hol! Can't wait to see pics also.
June - Hope you enjoy your trip. For sinus I usually take the demazin decongestants (I use these when scuba diving). They last ages and together with some cough lollies and lots of sucking on the way down, maybe even some chewing gum, I have managed to keep the ear-pressure at bay. I used to do fly in fly out on a mine site so I had to get really good at popping my ears. They are tricky and I have always had problems with them, but nothing a bit of preparation can't fix. As for bub, Caden is the same, he seems more grizzly with the left side of his mouth, rather than the right. He gets all the usual symptoms, but no screaming sessions for some reason. I think I am the opposite, as in when I go to the dentist, it is my left side that always aches heaps more than the right.
As for us, ticking along wonderfully. Caden is in daycare today so I have a chance to get some work done and some study completed (hence I am wasting time on line, heh heh). I have organises family day care with a lovely lady starting next Thursday, so am relieved that I have a longer term option than standard day care. It is not that the ABC isn't good, but I have had a lot of advice saying family day care is the way to go, so thought I would use it.
Well, better go do some work! Have a great week everyone!
Hi Girls,
I am so lonely without DH at home :(.. We swear that every time we have a holiday apart it will never happen again, but it has... :wall:
Anyhow Kimberley thinks she can crawl and gets so frustrated when she doesn't get anywhere but she did move about 2 inches last night going forward, so think it isn't far away. I am kind of over her thinking that 3am is a good time to practice. It is funny that she can kick me out of a king size bed!!
Have booked her back into daycare for a day next week so looking forward to a day on my own. Might be able to get some stuff done round the house.
Must be off now..
Love the new pic Heather (it IS new, isn't it?). Cute on the crawling, wont be long now I am sure. Once they get the gist of it they seem to really take off, or at least Caden did anyway. I hear ya about the holidays apart, cept for us it is slightly different in that I get the holidays, but cos DH runs his own business, I have to have them by myself. Not much of a holiday really, but it gets us out of the house. I can't wait til we sell the business then can live like a normal family and have holidays, day trips further than 1/2 hour away, and go overseas :) Bummer about the 3am time. Again we are having something similar, last night it was from 12 to 2, grumbly baby. He woke up this morning and did the stinkiest poo ever! I think it might have been the tomato-based spaghetti I gave him, so might lay off that for a while. :D
Well, better go do some stuff while bub is asleep,
Hello every one,
Sorry dont have a lot of time so wont do personal today
Well we have another tooth so thats 2 in the last week. Poor bubby but TBH she hasnt been too bad. Last night we had a bit of a party for DH's 30 which is actually on the 14th some some friends FIFO and we wanted them here. My girls were both angels even though DD1 was up til 9pm  My plan was to have her in bed b4 ppl arrived but she fell asleep having dinner in her highchair :cryinglaugh: at 4.30 so she wasnt too over tired. I thought i might get a bit of a sleep in because of it but no both my monkeys were up at 6.30am as per normal. DH is still in bed nursing a bit of a hangover and i'm trying to piece the house back together. Well not much else to tell and DD1 is tormenting Molly so off to play the peace keeper as per normal.
Hi all,
Am really starting to miss DH, so thought I would log on and say hi again. Am meant to be applying for jobs, but I have all night to do that...
DB - yeah the pic is new but taken about a month before we went away.. LOL at the poo from the spaghetti.. DH was whining about the smell of them from solid food before he went away, so if I find out when he is coming home, I will fill her up on fruit so he has the good ones to clean.. sorry for TMI there, but think he owes me... ;)
Hoody - glad the party went well.. The kids are amazing when there is company aren't they, now just to train them to sleep in.. Kimmy is up with the sun, no matter what time she goes to bed..
DD is teething again.. We are onto # 8 now.. She seems ok though, so fingers crossed she isn't too grumpy (she is normally pretty good.) I gave her some nurofen tonight and she got so high, just babbling away.
We are crawling like a crab, so am sure she will be taking off soon.. Part of me wants her to go before DH gets home, just so we achieved a major milestone and he might think twice about going next time..
I went to the park with a girl from mothers group yesterday and DD loved the swing. She didn't want to get out.. She was also happy just lazing about on the rug, and luckily I caught her lining her friends toe up, she had the mouth over the top and was about to go in for the chomp.. She thought she was being so clever and wasn't happy when I caught her..
When DD was about 3 weeks old, my 2 yr old nephew came to stay for a few nights and DH and I would lie in bed and complain that he didn't have a low volume, now I realise that Kimmy doesn't either.. We were walking through the shops the other day and for about 10 mins DD was yelling 'daaaa-da' at the top of her voice.. Was really cute, but I knew I can't whinge about my nephew any more :wall:
Well have babbled long enough now, so should really apply for these jobs and go and veg in front of the tv for a while.. Am all relaxed cause I decided to run a big bath for Kimmy and jumped in with her tonight.. She thought it was really funny having Mum in the tub..
Hope everyone else is welll..
Till next time..
Heather
Helloooo...remember me??
I'm sooooooo sorry I haven't posted for so long but every time I try to catch up, something happens and I get distracted and then I feel like there's no way i can catch up so I don't post and round and round we go! I have been reading lots, just not posting.
I'm not even going to attempt personals so please forgive me!
Us - we've been doing well. Have had our fair share of colds and teething (blah!) but we're surviving. He has 4 teeth now, two bottom ones came through first, then a few weeks ago his two top - OMG did they give him grief and once we saw them we understood why - his top teeth are HUGE! LOL.
He is crawling and pulling himself up, not 'crusing' as such but he's getting there, definitely knows how to get himself from A to B.
Sleep has been OK, disrupted by illness and teething but otherwise OK. He's doing two sleeps a day, about an hour and a half each, sometimes a bit less depending on when he gets out of bed in the morning. Still not sleeping through the night, has a feed at 10pm and another about 2am most of the time but I'm just used to it now and have accepted that he'll sleep through when he's ready. He has a quick feed and we're both back asleep within 10 minutes so it's not too painful at all.
He is definitely still a big boy, takes after his daddy! He's getting so big now, I just can't believe he's going to be 1 in a few months :( He is a delightful little fella, but definitley a mummy's boy!
Hope all are well and I'm going to try to make more of an effort to post. If I'm not around I'm still lurking and keeping up with how you're all doing.
Heather- PMSL at the 2yo with no volume button. I know all about that. I had a friend over this morning and trust me the volume level with 2x2yo's, a 13month old and my Molly well lets just say it was horrendous. I find my 2yo is ok at home but if there is someone else here or if we are out then the volume is through the roof  GL with the job hunting.
Willow- :happyforyou: so glad you came in and gave us an update i have missed you lots :) Glad to hear you are doing well.
DB- hope you had a good weekend.
Mel- Hun i hope you are ok after your rough weekend. My thoughts are with you
Twinsis- Long time no post- would love an update and hope you are well.
June, suse and anyone i missed- hope you are both well.
Ok so in the house of Hood's we have 2 sick kidlets again. I cant complain too much as we have had a decent run since the last bout of colds. Both girls have temps, runny noses and in general are very grumpy i have been up lots in the last 2 nights tending to one or the other. I'm just hoping that DD1 will stay ok and not get worse, Her asthma is already playing up and i have had to give her a neb already today. I dont mind as long as i can manage it at home so :crossfingers: for me. I am not too worried about Molly as she doesnt yet suffer from asthma like DD1 does. If they dont improve by tomo i will take them to the Dr but i dont want to waste my time to be told its just a cold etc.
For anyone that missed Limeslices post she wont be around for a little while as her Mum is seriously ill and she has gone to spend what time is left with her. I know she has been absent from the thread for a few weeks but she is in my thoughts alot.
Well thats enough from me today. Take care everyone.
Hoody - LOL, nice to be missed! My two have another cold too. DD is pretty much better, just the cough hanging on. DS has been sick about a week now. Last night was the first decent sleep we've had for 4 nights. Hope he's over the worst of it now. I haven't bothered taking mine to the drs for the same reason, they'll just tell me its a cold and there's nothing much you can do but try to keep them comfortable and as happy as possible. Hope DD1's asthma doesn't play up!!
Just popped on to say a quick hi and let you all know I'm still alive, just really busy. On top of looking after my own baby I look after my friend's baby while she's at work which leaves me very little time to come on the computer. Between the ytwo babies, and holidays and visitors I just haven't had time to come here.
Breif update with my little guy: He started crawling about a month ago and wow does he ever keep me on my toes. He started pulling up on stuff and cruising along the furniture a few weeks before crawling so he's into everything!! His favourite game is crawling up the stairs so we have to watch him like a hawk. Just a week ago his top 4 middle teeth came in and with them a definite prefernce for non-pureed foods. He grabbed a very ripe nectarine off my friend's table the other day and we watched in astonishment as he ate the entire thing!! No words yet other than momma and dadda and even those we aren't sure if he actually associates with us yet.
Cameron wants attention right now so I haven't had a chance to read any posts yet.
He's desperatyely trying to climb my stairs so I will have to read what you've all been up to later (durin his nap or after he goes to bed).
Willow- hope the kidlets are feeling better :)
Twinsis- Thanks for the update, wow you do sound busy 2 bubs you are very brave ;)
Well my girls are still full of colds but no worse so i cant complain......ok i could but wont as it could be soooo much worse. They actually both slept through last night but are still very cranky today. I suppose the fact that mummy dragged them both to the shops and bank this morning hasnt helped the situation  Well i hope you are all well. Its quiet again in here
Hi everyone,
Willow & Twinsis - IT is great to hear how you are both going !!!
Willow - hope the little ones are getting better and you are start getting some rest.
Twinsis - on the teeth, crawling and climbing. LOL about the food.. Funny how they enjoy something one feed, and turn their nose up the next time..
Hoody - feel free to complain if you want to.. Hope they don't get any worse!!
Don't have much to say, but I am filling in time while I have some ice on my finger.. I burnt it while melting some chocolate sauce for my cousin.. We made muffins this morning and she wanted some chocolate sauce on them (goodness knows why I gave into her)..
Kimmy is now 7.8 kgs that is .5 kg while we were away. We must have been feeding her well ;)
Hopefully DH will be home on the weekend, and he will get a shock.. I have become domesticated. I have cleaned the kitchen cupboards out and moved stuff into more logical places and have made inroads on bub proofing the house (so unlike me to do housework, but amazing what boredom will do :p)
Have my bro going to visit my parents with the new GF this weekend, so will have to go and suss her out and see if she gets my approval :cryinglaugh:
Anyhow, the iceblock has melted so must go and drop my cousin home..
Talk soon
Heather
