I posted a massive boo hoo yesterday so won't go into it all again here but am feeling really ovewhelmed right now. :( Mum is taking Izzy today and for the night too so I am going to meet up with some girls from my pregnancy stretch class for the first time, plus am going to hopefully finish all my xmas shopping too. Hope you all have a great day. :)
Morning all!
Tan- Hope your feeling ok! Enjoy Christmas shopping (if you can enjoy Christmas shopping!!)
Hollye-When is the big move? And how come?
I haven't been able to log on for some reason, stupid computer! But everything has settled down again, I think it was just a bad day. We went out all day yesterday so that made me feel better and the little man slept really well last night so all in all, a happy mummy again! We had MG on Tuesday, he is now 5.8kg! :o And 60cms! No wonder his clothes are getting a bit snug!
Well we are off to do food shopping today (how boring!)
Hi to everyone else I've missed-still half asleep!
Tan - im am ALWAYs here if u need to talk. JUst take it one day at a time hun.. mwah xoxoxo
Hippie - If money goes in our favour we will be moving Feb/March. Why? Coz we can. lol the way i see it, if i dont get out of this town (been here for 16 years) i will be stcuk here when Mia starts school and things. So i need to get out and see a little i think.
Mia is off to have her needles today... she will prob be fine, its me that will be a mess.
Wish me luck
mwah xoxoxoxo
Hollye-Good on you! What a nice change. I would love just to pack up and move! I think I would head towards Far North QLD. I would miss the family to much though!!
Sneaky - where abouts in Brissy are u? i may of already asked u this and if i have than im sorry - my memory not too good lately! hehehe
Hollye - do i know where about yet?
Tan - i will find ur post and read it - but i hope u are feeling a bit better! we are all here for u!
Well i had a s**t night with Bianca last night, and just when i though i was over getting upset i had to go outside for 10mins and have my own little cry! i was really starting to get a bit cranky with her also! Typical tho isnt it - just when u think things are settling down, they arnt! i just wish i didnt have to get upset with her - but it breaks my heart seeing her cry!
morning girls,
How are you all today? I am good except that I want to cut off my nipples they are so #@*$!# sore. I think i'll have to express again for a couple of days to see if they improve. I honestly never though BF would be so hard after 2 mths, argggggggg!!! Other then that we are great with Olive sleeping 9 and 8 hrs the last 2 nights.
How are your babies at putting themselves to sleep? Olive was good but now either wants to be fed or rocked/shushed to sleep which is getting a bit frustrating. I'm not into controlled crying so i'm not sure how I can change this behaviour. I'm also trying to get her out of the bassinette and into the cot. She will sleep in the cot of a day but not at night. Olive is almost 6kgs so is rapidly running out of room but i'll miss her in my room. Has everyone else done the transition to the cot or are some still in bassinette's? Do you have monitors if the cot is in another room?
Morning Olive'smummy - we had Bianca in her cot from Day 1 - i just knew it would be too hard to change her over! i started of with a monitor for a couple of days than it went off and has been off ever since!
Bianca usually self settles also - but for some reason last night we ended up having to rock her too sleep after a big long screaming session - she was like that for her afternoon nap also - maybe its just another one of their stages that they go thru!
Tan - i read ur other post - certainly sounds like u are going thru a rough patch - but just remember thats all it is - and before u know it it will be over!
u are doing a GREAT job! Both your little ones are happy and thriving - so DONT ever think ur failing at anything! I cant imagine how hard it is for u! and here i am thinking its hard with 1!!!!
I think putting Izzy in childcare for a day or 2 will be good for her and for u! she needs the interaction with some children her age - hence why she is prob getting up to mischief and u need the time alone with James! It will also be good for u too relax and or get stuff done while he is sleeping or having his belly time!
Also Tan - everyone keeps telling me if some one offers help than i should take it - well u should definatly take the help from u mum - she and Izzy will both love spending the night together! sounds like u got a great mum!
Never forget Tan that u are a fantastic mother!!!!!!
HJ - hang in there.. mwah! More than likley im moving near Calamvale.
does anyone want to come here and take Mia for her needles for me? i so dont want to go. lol
hmmmm suppose calamvale is okay!!! would be nicer if u moved closer!!!!!
and sorry i can't take Mia for her needles - i would cry too much - i hate needles - im not taking B for her's, Kev is!!!
hj - im in ferny grove :)
hollye - dont go southside! Lol nah thats ok ;)
olivesmum - dd#2 is still in her basinette too - what we did with dd#1 is we put her in the basinette IN the cot for a while to transition and it was no drama. will do the same this time! dont worry about the self settling yet - they are still so young, plenty of time to learn :)
p.s - tan we'll have you up here too! we r friendly and the weather is lovely
Sneaky - i agree Hollye shouldnt go too far sth should she?! Riverhills (near Mt Ommaney is as far as she should go!) also Sneaky ur not too far from me! :D
OMG i dont want to be doing that needle thing again! i think DP is going to take her next time! She let out this horrific scream, i had tears streaming down my face. The lady kept asking if i was ok. lol
See.. KL is helping find matt a job and shes in Calamvale. wahahhahahaa
i thought that would be the reason! oh well :crying:
How is poor little Mia going now? how are u? hehehe
Thanks ladies! Feeling a bit better today - mum picked up Izzy this morning and I went to catch up with the girls from my class - James at nearly 6kgs is waaaay bigger than them all and he is the second youngest. I also did a stack of Xmas shopping - a bit more to go but I will do that tomorrow before I pick up my cherub girl. I've spoken to mum a few times today and she is having a ball and slept for 2 hours! She only sleeps for one and a half most days here cheeky girl!
Not sure who asked but James settles on his own during the day most of the time, either in his cot, hammock or in the bouncer and is still sleeping in the hammock at night. I think I will be scared to move him out seeing as he sleeps for 10-12 hours overnight! The movement definitely puts him back to sleep when he stirs. At least I can use the hammock for a few more months before I have to move him out, I know people have used to for up to a year but I think he will be out once is he rolling regularly. Off again to enjoy my peaceful day and wrap pressies while I can without Miss Mischief here. :) Have a great night all!
ETA - I find it hard to give James much nappy off time with Izzy around but he has had it off since we got home and is LOVING it! Can't wait til summer really kicks in! Must feel nice for him to be free but far out its much easier with girls  That wee went EVERYWHERE!
Hollye I live in Crestmead, which is about 15 mins from Calmvale, would be nice to meet you once you've moved. I remember when I got my first boys 2mth needles I was a blubbering mess and also had the nurse ask if I was alright, hopefully she'll sleep well this afternoon.
Tan sorry to hear that your having such a rough time, I'll go and read your boohoo in a min. Try and relax a bit with Iz at your mums, sleep when James does and hopefully you will feel more refreshed.
Hi to everyone else.
I got to visit my brother and SIL this morning it was great to get out of the house and talk to some adults. Will got and pick up DH from work this arvo and have a look around DFO while I'm there. Julian is better was handing out beautiful smiles to my SIL and having a little chat with her, very cute.
Ok off to do some housework, before I have to go again.
hugs xoxo
Amanda - which DFO?
Mia is sad.. :( shes been very cranky but i dont think its from the needles, its from her stuffy/yucky nose. She has had it for 2 weeks now.. i just want it to go away!!
ahhh amanda, i have been looking at houses in crestmead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whats the area like?
yeh the nurse is like "oh geez we need some vallium for mummy" lol!
hj jindalee
Hollye really good, public transport is close by mostly, some nice parks(they are doing some up as well), got major shopping centre close by(about 10mins by car, 20mins by bus).
Goto go boy wanting a feed.
hugs xoxo
ive heard theres some not so good suburbs right next to crestmead..... are they really bad?
Which suburbs were you thinking of, if it's Logan Central/Woodridge or Kingston, I would afree that there are beter plces. But Crestmead, Marsden, Heritage Park, Regents Park are good.
hugs xoxo
Amanda - u should of poped in and said gday - i live 5-10mins away from jindalee DFO!
hi guys,
just a quick one gotta do the chrissy shopping!!
jacob didnt want to settle last night so I ended up with him in our bed, all night, he stirred at about 5am (went to sleep around midnight) so I popped the dummy in until I could back up, but he fell staright back to sleep and didnt wake until 7 this morning, omg thats the biggest sleep he has ever had, my poor boobs arent liking it much though!!
also had a bath in the big bath with him the other night, he LOVED it, I had him floating on his back in front of me, he was smiling and kicking, splashing his arms around, wasnt happy when I tried to sit him down!!Then he did a poo, so we got out!!
he laughed out loud and was awake last night too, dp was watching tv and killing himself laughing about something he heard a noise and looked down and jacob was looking at him laughing too!! so cute.
anyway have a great day all, Im off to brave the shops....not looking forward to it!
Oh no poo in the bath!!! too funny! Aren't the smiles and giggles so adorable! Im trying to get them on camera but he gets all star struck when I pull it out!!
Off for day 2 of shopping hopefully will get it all done!!!!!
Same here Tan - I've been trying to capture the smiles on camera but Lara wont co-operate. Hopefully we'll get some good shots on xmas day.
Starrysky - Yay on Jacob's biggest sleep. Sounds like you both had a great time in the bath, apart from the poo ha ha. Good luck shopping today. I've still got a bit of xmas shopping to do too, not looking forward to it either.
DH has to work tomorrow now so today is his only day off until xmas. He is still in bed coz he never came to bed until 4am. Hes not a morning person at all but Im going to go wake him soon, he'll be tired and cranky but too bad!!!
Better go, hi to everyone and have a great day.
Leigh - good luck with waking DH! HEHEHE
Starry - how funny is that! Jacob pooing in the bath - funny u should say that i was actually thinking of having a bath with Bianca tonight cause she is getting a bit big for her bath but im now thinking twice! hahahaha
Tan - how are u going? feeling better?
Well we had another hellish night with Bianca - for some reason she is back to not settling of a night time! its driving me nuts! we got her down just before midnight! but i guess she at least sleeps for about 6hrs so thats something!
We have just got back from battling the shops!
How did everyone else go?
i survived!
At one stage i had my sister, her 2 kids (with 2 friends), my mum, my MIL n FIL and my SIL all is the same house. with me and DP thats 11 people!!!! omg.. how did i manage. Mia was fantastic as she usually is and gave heaps of smiles. She was GLUED to the TV today when Dora the Explorer was on.. oh bother! lol.
Off to the doctors tomorrow morning. Mia is still sick and has been for 2 weeks. Its not getting better and the panadol is doing nothing so off to the doctors we go. I just want her to have some relief. I was crying before coz she was trying to sleep and she couldnt because of her really yucky nose. I spoke to the guy at the chemist and he seems to think mayb she has an allergy? it makes sense as i have a very long haired cat and his hair is everywhere. Its sad to think we may have to get rid of him ill see what the doc says tho.
Apart from that shes been great. LOVES her new formula! This mornings she downed the whole 180 mls and this arvo she had about 150 so now wonder she starting to look like im giving her steak sandwiches!! As u will see from my pics in the gallery!
She has another MCHN check on monday.. im sure shes over 5 kilos for sure. Im thinking about 5.2 the little chubba.
Morning ladies!
How are we all today? We are good, my beautiful boy is sleeping well, sleeps from about 7:30pm to 2:30am then back down until 7am. Not as good as James Tan but I feel like I'm getting sleep!
We are off to Mum's today, and I have to go and get some photos printed for our Christmas cards (yes I STILL haven't sent them!) People might get them before New Years!! haha oh well!
Have a good day everyone! :D
Welcome Jindalee!!!
That's great Hippie!! I have my cards but haven 't printed them!!! I will post in the gallery for you all to check out!
Wow Hollye what a full house! HOw did your GP check up go. It's so hard when they have a cold for so long because nothing really works except time. :( I found with Izzy that it tends to hang around for a lot longer than it does with us and she tends to just get better and then gets something else. It sucks. I hope she's better soon hun. James was 5.1kgs at 4 weeks ! I don't think Mia is a chubber somehow! All his nearly 6 kgs of weight is in his cheeks!!!!!
HJ - Thanks for asking hun, I am feeling heaps better. Having 2 days with just James and a decent sleep in yesterday has made a world of difference! Iz had a great tme at mums and I got my sanity back!! :) How did Bianca go last night???
Leigh, Starry, Amanda and everyone I've missed huge  to you all and your lovely bubs!!
Well Im thinking of switching to cloth. 2 in full time sposies is terrible - I feel bad for our poor old environment and our bins are overflowing every week so DH has given me permission to buy 4 to try out and see how we go! So far am liking AIO's and ones that the size lasts a while - so maybe GK, a BG and then Im not sure - maybe swaddlebees! There are SO many to choose from and of course I found one I loved that was $45!!! Eeeek!
Here is our Christmas card and here is James' birth annoucement card!
Hi everyone,
Hollye congrats on ur decision to move to Brizzy. I wasn't going to say it when you were deciding, but it'd probably be better - there's heaps more options there. That's about the only drawback here - very few options, and VERY poor shopping!!!!! The only baby shopping here is Target, Big W and Toyworld! It's crazy - it has a poplulation of over 50,000 and bubs galore!!! Anyhoo (*breath*)... We've actually been considering moving to the Sunny Coast for a while and it might be back on the cards again soon... But moving up here has been the best thing we've done. We moved for the same reasons - just coz we could (and my grandparents are here) and we hated Shepp. i'd never move back to Vic again now. I love the weather and lifestyle here too much.
We're doing well here. I've done something to my stomache tho. It started out like just sore muscles but then got worse in a couple of hours the other night. Now it's pretty bad at night and really bad in the morning, but for the rest of the day it's fine so long as i don't have much pressure around my belly button. It's above my c/s wound, but it's the same kind of pain when i couldn't put myself in and out of bed without DHs help. Maybe I have just stretched the muscles?
Anyway, Liam's great and I'm enjoying not having to worry about 'how he'll be today' especially when we go out coz I know I can take it in my stride whatever happens. We've still got him in his bassinette but he'll have to move into the cot soon (just as soon as we FINALLY finish painting it!!). I love the idea of putting the basinette in the cot, very clever. He was self-settling but now he's back to wanting to be put to sleep. Then (like now) sometimes he'll wake up 5 mins after being put in the basinette. Grrrr!
Is everyone elses bubs rolling over? Liam isnt even rolling onto his side or anything. Is there something i can do to encourage it?
