Hi Girls,
It is very quiet in here at the moment, we're all busy I guess.
I don't really have anything to report but just wanted to pop in and say hi and see how you're all doing.
Leigh - it has been very quiet - hence why i havent posted! plus dont have much to report either!
Oh actually we are dummy free! Miss B hasnt had the dummy at all since Saturday! was really quite easy!
Hello to everyone!
Thats great news HJ, how'd you do it? Did you just take it off her altogether & not let her have it at all? Was there much crying? Lara isnt addicted to hers so I really should get it off her while she isn't.
I DO HAVE NEWS I DO HAVE NEWS!!!
Miss B has her 1st tooth! i have been feeling her gums for a few days now and have felt some sharpness, however she would never let me look in her mouth, But Miss B let my friend have a look and would u believe it, there it is My little Girl has her first toothy peg!
Its on the bottom left! im so happy yet so sad aswell!
Leigh - yeah we just took it off her and never gave it too her - she wasnt addicted too it - just used it for nap times and that was it, there wasnt much crying, it was a little harder to get her down for her sleeps, took some cuddling and shhhing and patting and that was only for 2 nights and than she was fine! it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be! maybe thats cause she wasnt hooked on it IYKWIM - so maybe if u want to get rid of the dummy, try it now befor Lara does get addicted to it!
Yay B on getting your first toothy peg
Thanks HJ for the dummy info, think I will do it now before it gets too hard. Lara only has her for sleep as well and usually it falls out and she sleeps the whole night without it in any way. The only other time I give it to her is if she is really upset and I can't settle her. My DD1 had a dummy and she was an addict. I tried many times to get rid of it without success. She was almost 2 before I could get rid of it. I don't want to have to go through that again with Lara.
Leigh - good luck with it - let me know how it goes! sounds like u should be fine tho!
I will admit tho i have had some days where i have thought argh the dummy would make it so easy to settle Miss B - but u just have to perserve! lots of cuddles!
How is everyone else and their bubs???
Hollye havent heard from you for awhile!!!!
We had a Hell of a night with Miss B last night - i think in totally we averaged 4hrs sleep!
I think another tooth might be comming thru - do they usually start comming thru with a rush once one is in????
Hi everyone,
How are you? I've been reading but not posting as I haven't had much to report. Olive is going great. She is so mobile now, pulling herself up on everything and it's amazing how much she can reach. We went on a road trip to Sydney last weekend which went really well. Olive slept the whole way down and charmed all our hosts. Olive is sleeping a bit better, only waking 1-2 times rather then 4-5 and for longer stretches which makes a huge difference to my overall mood. She is really settled into FDC now and loves her carer.
How is everyone's bubs going with the solids? Olive pretty much has 3 meals and snacks as well now. She loves vegies, still porridge for brekkie and is also enjoying organic baked beans atm. I made a batch of chicken with chick peas and vegies which she liked and I also made a cous cous pudding which went down a treat. I got a lovely book called 'the petite Appetite' organic cookbook for bubs on sale for $10 so have been enjoying making things when I get the time.
Anyway not much else to report, hope you all have a great weekend. I'm glad I don't have to worry about the dummy thing, good luck Leigh!
Hey everyone, it has been months since I have been on here and I can't believe how all the bubs have grown. It shouldn't surprise me so much because Meara has really porked out (9.3kg) and has 2 teeth (bottom), can crawl and is practising standing holding on to the lounge.
I hope that everyone is ok now. We have a virus going round here to atm and Meara, Sarah and Cobie are really crook. Hope it ends soon!!!!
I have some news too and no I'm not pg again lol. I have decided to become an egg donor. I have pm'ed a lady and now am waiting for her to get back to me. I hope the clinic will let me donate and I can help her.
Have a good weekend everyone and I'll pop back in soon. Sorry for no personals but Meara needs me again.
Take care ladies
Kim
wow Kim - that is very big news!!!!! what made u decide to do that? i think thats very nice of you! - keep us updated on how it all goes!
Kim - Good to hear from you. Sounds like Meara is growing nicely. Wow at becoming an egg doner, that is so kind of you. I hope the clinic gives you the go ahead & everything goes well!
PMSL that is not a problem Fluff as I have definitely finished. I know I was looking at going again but then I gave myself a HUGE slap up the back of the head lol. We are definitely finished. DF is not getting any nookie until he has the snip or I'll use the 2 brick method : )
I was going to do this years ago but the clinic I phoned never phoned me back and when I rang this time they told me I'm too old for them as an anon donor but that it should be ok as a known donor. So I went on to aussie egg donor and just about straight away I found someone (in my city even) so we have been chatting on there. I just want someone else to experience what I have with my kids and if I can help out with items that I am no longer using ........ then why not.
Will keep you guys posted on the progress
Kim
how awesome has Miss B been sleeping of a night time for the past 2 nights!!!
Sunday night - she was a feral as she only had 1 30min sleep all day, so at 1830 decided thats it she is having bottle and going to bed - she fell asleep at 1845 - woke at 1930 back to sleep after crying herself to sleep by 2000 and didnt wake until 0808 exactly the next morning!
Monday night - thought bugga it im going to try and do that again - she was in bed and asleep by 1900 - woke at around 1930 - cried for 15mins and didnt wake until 0640 this morning! woo hoo we are doing well
However today she has had a 30min nap, a 1hr10mins and another 30mins so will still try and get her down and see how she goes! Fingers crossed we can make it 3 nights in a row!
woohoo we have made it too night 3 - she was in bed and asleep by 1900 - woke and grizzled a few times all before 2000 - we just let her be! and its now 0635 and she is still asleep!!!
Yay HJ, glad Miss B is sleeping well for you again. Lara usually sleeps 12 hrs at night too, usually 8pm til 8 am though. God I hope I havent jinxed it by saying anything.
We're going away on Friday for 2 nights, will be nice to get away for a couple of days. I still haven't taken Lara's dummy off her, I am scared it will throw her routine out of whack. But like I said, she isnt addicted to it so its best it goes now before it becomes a big problem. Maybe next week after we get back.
Its quiet in here. Hope everyone is well!
i forgot all about this thread... ooops.. well im back! hehehehe ill catch up when me lil poppet is sleeping soundly.
Hollye - how could you forget us :(
:yeahthat:
Hi everyone, just popping in to say a quick hello. V has been having a few unsettled nights but apart from that is so much better. Back to being very cheeky which is so nice to see. I hope all the other little bubs are doing well.
Ohh and V now has 6teeth. hugs
Cheryl - So glad that little V is doing so much better. Your family has been in my thoughts! She definitely is a little fighter!!! Wow at 6 teeth. Lara still only has her two bottom two teeth, I've been waiting for more to come through, shes still chewing on everything she can get her hands on at the moment and has swollen gums so probably wont be too long before another comes through.
We're going away tomorrow, can't wait. Its only for 2 days though.
Cheryl - Great to hear that V is doing better.
Olive has 7 teeth and is getting 3 more ATM so have had lots of unsettled nights, especially the past 2. How is V with teething? Does she cope well? What do you do to help her? I find it pretty challenging at times but i'm sure it's much worse for my poor darling.
hj - congrats on the sleeping through, hope it lasts!
Has anyone been doing any Xmas laybying yet? what are you buying your little ones?
yep done SOME christmas laybys :)
wooden puzzles
a fisher price 'little people' set
a yo-gabb gabb toy he loves...
and a walk-along bike kinda thing made by 'little tikes'( is their new one out)
I have lay-byed a couple of things
A pink push along trike with a cute little trailer on the back
A little people tractor which sings
Some Mr Men xmas books
I'm also going to get a pram for Olive's dollies and some wooden toys from a local toy maker. This xmas is so much more exciting then last year.
Miss B has now got her 2nd tooth!!!!! both on the bottom!!!!!!
hey im back!... again...
all this talk of teeth, i cant join in coz Mia still has none.. nothing nadda..
anyhoo.. the chrissy layby stuff i can. Have laybyed Mia's bday stuff (yay). all except the Elmo LIVE which im still looking for and her bday stuff is only costing me about $400 atm, which is great. Been thinking about what sorta party shes gonna have....
Chissy layby is nearly done. I have 2 neices and a nefew still to do (there is 13 of them all up).
Mia has heaps on layby for chrissy. Shes getting a swing set with a little baby seat and a little bike thing (hard to explain) and heaps more. Costing me about $1000 for just her for chirssy *sigh*
Um not much more to say.. who ever is on my facebook, there is always updates of what mia's up to on there.
just waiting to see if these pesky teeth come through... tho my mum tells me i didnt get my first tooth till i was 14 months old!
Hi Girls,
HJ - Yay on B's 2nd tooth, she has the same two teeth as Lara now.
I havent layby'd anything yet, I havent had a chance to get to the shops, must get going before the sales finish, although the Target sale hasnt started yet.
Guess what? Lara has FINALLY started crawling (although I was secretly hoping she'd stay put for a bit longer). It is exciting to see how crawl though and DD1 loves it.
We've been away for 2 nights at Port Douglas, we had a really good time and the weather was beautiful, didn't want to come home.
Gotta go, hope you all had a great weekend!
Hey girls.. quick one. I am in canada having a blast with my family and friends and enjoying 33 degree days!!
hope everyone is great!
Holl - apparently the longer it is before they get their first teethy peg the stronger and healthier the teeth - i dont know how true that is but i have heard it a million times! so Mia is going to have strong healthy teeth!!!
And wow how spoilt is she going to be come christmas and bday! i haven't even thought of either yet - wanna wait until it gets closer so i can see what stage she is at -she is growing so fast that who know's she might be into make up come christmas! hahaha only joking she isnt aloud to touch that stuff until she has finished grade 12!
Leigh - YAY on Lara crawling, its so cute isnt it! i love her pic in ur ticker also! oh and how nice it would be to go away! we not game enough to do that with Bianca yet!!!
Didi - 33!!! yuck too hot for my liking! should be -33!!!!
Olive has her 8th tooth as of a couple of nights ago - hooray and she slept heaps better last night, having a 6.5hrs stretch. It's still not all night but soooo much better then every couple of hours. Will have to see how long that lasts though as there are 2 more teeth about to come through. I have swapped Bonjela for Braurers(sp) homeopathic teething relief and it's working way better and is heaps easier to apply as it's just liquid in a syringe and Olive likes it.
We had a lovely weekend at home listening to the jjj Hottest 100 of all time and just doing housework and playing with Olive. Then on Saturday night mum came up and DH and I went on a date. We haven't been out just the 2 of us since March and felt we needed to have some time together so went out for dinner and to a movie (Bruno - hilarious). It was lovely and romantic and something we will try and do every few months. Olive absolutlely adores my mum and half the time when I put my arms out for her to come back to me she just waves instead, cheeky little bugger.
Olive has also worked out how to open draws and cupboards now so time to get some locks and really baby proof, it's amazing how far she can reach.
Hollye - How is the new house? How's Mia coped with the change? Glad to have you back.
Leigh - Port Douglas (droooool). Yeah on Lara crawling!
hj - yeah on B's teeth coming through, has she been good with them?
Didi - sounds like you are having a great time in Canada! what beautiful weather.
OM - B has been pretty good with them - can't complain really! but i might try that other teething stuff u recommended instead of Bonjella as she keeps licking it instead so its hard to get on her gums!
I think Date idea with ur hubby reg is a good idea - we should do it also but i really hate leaving B with anyone! she is good with grandparents but i hate it and spend the whole night thinking about her and talking about her anyway! which is prob bad!
Oh its fun when they start getting into things - Miss B shut her fingers in a drawer the other day - was mean of me but i couldnt help but laugh, all i could think of was it all starts now!!! hahaha
Oh forgot to mention B now claps when u ask her too or if u sing "clap ur hands together", she knows where her nose is, and if ur wearing buttons and u ask her where are ur buttons she points them out! she also opens pencil cases!!!! bugga!
Tooooo cute!!!!
yep the move was good :) Mia settled in very nicley, thank god. I was so tired from moving, it wudda killed me if she didnt.
I taught her how to hi- 5 yesterday and she now says "hi-5" in a cute little voice and slaps your hand (or hers, if yours isnt around) so cute. She went into the kitchen this morning and opened all the draws and cupboards, so i need to go find them lock things for them. Shes still driving me nuts taking her jackets off. She used to just un do them but now she does both... grrr.. no wonder shes got a cold. Shes got bruises on her knees... lol.. from climbing on everything.. then falling down.. lol..
anyhoo.. i can hear shes into something.. toodleooo
Hi Girls,
Didi - Sounds like you're having a great time in Canada. I agree with HJ, 33 degrees is too hot for me too. I live in Cairns and even in winter we still sit on around 28 degrees during the day. How long are you there for?
OM - You're dinner and movie date sounds great. I still haven't had a night away from Lara. I think the longest I've been away from Lara is 2 hrs so I definitely need some time out.
HJ - I see you've changed your photo of B in your ticker too, she is a cutie. Clever girl clapping and knowing where her nose is. Lara hasnt started opening cupboards yet but I suppose shes only just started crawling so wont be too long before she gets upto mischief. I was lucky with DD1 that she never really loved going through the cupboards etc, hope Lara will be the same.
Hollye - Hope Mia gets over her cold soon. She is one lucky girl getting lots of presents for her b'day and xmas. I wish I was getting that much ha ha. Glad she was good for you while you moved.
Lara is asleep & as soon as she wakes up I am going for a drive to toys r us to have a sticky beak.
Have a good day!!!
Ok first of all sorry that I haven't been posting lately, have been totally exhausted, with kids on school holidays and trying to keep them occupied... but they will be back at school tomorrow so yay for me ;).
We've laybyed everything for christmas and the 4 boys birthdays that are towards the end of the year, we've got the older boys scooters for their birthdays and bikes for christmas, plus other things as well.
Julian has had an infected toe for the last two weeksand has been on antibiotics and now has an ointment, it's getting better slowly. He is nowgetting up on his knees and yesterday stood up twice and this morning he crawlled properly for a bit then went back to commando crawlling....cheeky little man :).
hey amanda! long time no chat! yay for school tomorrow! How did his toe get infected?? i hope it gets better soon.
same old same old here.. Mia is really into books atm and turns the pages and all. SHe just babbles while she looks through it like shes reading it lol. Shes copying alot of words im saying, she says socks, hat, up and no now.
anyhoo.. shes in bed.......... im having some me time.
Hi all just a quick one, have a massive headache but I am way to excited about V's weight gain, so wanted to share it with you all.
In one week, V went from 4.84kg to a wonderful 5.24kg, cant believe it I am so happy with that weight gain, she has never pulled off a weight gain like that before. Must have alot to do with the extra calories the Dietician had me give V.
 Cheryl, that is fantastic news about V's weight gain, I bet you are thrilled.
