Happy 10 months Bianca!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey everyone.. Hope all the kiddies are sleeping great for all!!!
SOUNDS GOOD!!
Question...
Did you ever or do you have a soother for your child? night in the car day when?? how often?
Will you get rid of it when they are 1 or wait till they are 2??
My sister just had a baby and wanted to know as she hates her 1 month old having one and wants to know waht most do.
yeah Mia has a dummy. She used to have it all day till about 3.5 months and then when she was getting more into things and didnt cry as much. She now has it just for bed. I dont think she will be ready to give it up at 12 months for bed as it helps her to self sooth herself back to sleep when she wakes. So im thinking mayb 2? It was a god send here.. i loved it. Even when i was BFing, i used it to try and stretch out M's feeds a little and it worked well. Its all up to the mum and the baby. Its not a problem here, coz we dont see it as it stays in her cot. Its cute now coz ill go get her up from a sleep and she will take it out and give it to me.
Bianca says.....iiaoooooooldfieriohkdj;siutrgs irfkeul - thats Thanykou Hollye translated!
Didi - 1st of no one take offence to what i'm about to say! i HATE dummy's always have and always will and always said i never wanted to give one to my baby - however was in hospy after i had B and she did nothing but cry and cry and cry and no one could settle her - day 3 came and one of the midwifes said i think she is going to be a dummy baby - i bawled my eyes out BIG time as DH ran out the door to the chemist - came back with a dummy and it settled her for the 1st time! we only ever gave it too her if we couldnt settle her and of a night time! I said i wanted it gone by 12mths no matter what it took - i didnt want her to be walking around with a dummy on one of those things that tie them to bubs shirt ( i hate them). Come i think it was when B was 5mths and B was waking in the night heaps and we would have to get up and put dummy in - after many nights and many gets ups i decided thats it the dummy is going! 1 rough night was all it took and we have never looked back! Dummy GONE!!!!! and im so happy!
If ur sister has one and dosent like it - tell her not to use it - or only use it as a last resort - its when u keep popping it in their mouths all the time everyday that i think she is going to have a problem with it! Hope that helps!
Hollye - has Mia taken any more steps yet? B is standing on her own and leaning forward and thinking about it but hasnt taken anymore than 1 step yet!
nawww thanks B :) ur so cute.
nah.. max of 4 steps. tho.. she re arranges my furniture.. takes my dining chairs around the house with her to hold on to.. lol
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well. We are going good. Olive is almost walking, taking a few steps between furniture and standing heaps. She is abit challenging atm though with her teeth and food and sleep have been a battle lately which is frustrating but understandable. It's lucky she is so damn cute!!!
didi - Congrats on Jorda walking, must be super cute. In regards to dummies, Olive has never had one and she has been fine. I don't like them and I think it helps that my mum is really anti dummy. I must say thought that most people I know do have one for their bubs, I guess it's a personal thing. Besides not liking the look of them I also think that it can be more of a hassle getting up to put the dummy back in when if they learn to self settle with their thumb or fist it never falls out on them. The hospital suggested it but I just said no and it was eventually accepted. Working in child care I have also seen how hard they can be to get rid of and the negative effect it can have on language development and tooth decay, well worth researching if you choose to use a dummy long term.
Have a great weekend everyone!!!
Out of all of my 5 kidlets only 1 used a dummy and that was only when he was teething. The rest of them just used to spit them out lol.
CW - glad Olive is taking those first steps too. I can totally understand about the challenge with teeth and sleep atm OMG please let Meara go back to sleeping all night in her own bed :(
I'm still waiting for AF to arrive so I can start pill popping. Typical isn't it, when you want them to come they don't and when you don't want them they do grrrrrrrr stupid bodies lol
Thanks ladies!! Personally and I with you HJ.. I HATE THEM AS WELL.. J had one up until mm 2-3 months ago..
If it works for some.. fantastic.. but I wanted her to self sooth herself and learn how to cope without relying on something.. as the older they get the more attached they get..
I told my sis.. she is not going to use one!!
THANK YOU
wow so quiet in here.
i have the last counselling session tomorrow and i have already started pill popping so my donor journey is on its way. Potentially starting nasal spray on the 15\9\09. Getting exciting lol
just a vent.........
M has dropped to 1 day sleep! argh!!!! i hope she picks it back up again!
tho.. she has been sleeping better overnight.. 13 hours straight lastnight.
OH I hate the sleep dropping!!
she hasnt slept today at all.. oh man....... now when will i find time to spend WAY too much time on the net? lol
trying to work out how to adjust our routine. Stop growing child!!!
Hi everyone,
:grouphug:
Wow it seems like only yesterday i was on here but the months have been flying by!
How are you all? I've been missing posting on here and from the look of things I've missed alot of interesting developments. I'm looking forward to catching up with you all and finding out how your all going!
Hayden's doing well and will finally turn 10 months on the 3rd of this month, congrats to all those cute 10 month olds!!!
We seem yo have been hit with the injury and sick stick repeatably here, the worst of it being DH who managed to pick up swine flu and then the nightmare of testing and keeping him seperate from all of us unfolded!!!
Hayden's currently a crawling, eating and pooping baby machine!! We mangaged to cut 3 teeth at once so we'll never know which was the first tooth! lol 6 teeth later and we seem to be ready to eat anything! Other than that we've been blessed with a happy and content baby who's growing so fast we seem to be losing track of it!
Better run for now got a house to clean, amazing how much work number 3 adds to the house cleaning!!!
Takecare all,
:grouphug:
Luv Snoopea
Hi Girls,
Snoopea - Great to hear from you. Hayden sounds like he is doing well. Our bubs are growing way too quick aren't they? Bugger about DH getting Swine Flu.
Hollye - How is Mia going with her day sleeps now? I hate it when Lara doesnt sleep during the day. She is currently asleep now though and has been for almost 2 and a half hours. She has an hour this morning too so today has been a good day , sleep wise for her.
Kim - Glad the process for egg donating is going well for you. You'll be so excited when you find out the lady is pregnant hey!!!
Hello to everyone else. Hope you and all your little bubbas are doing well.
Gotta go and do a few things before Lara wakes up. Plus DH will be home with DD1 soon once she is home it will be all systems go around here.
WELL.. here i am back in OZ.. We got home this morning... The kids slept the whole way!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
soo cold here!
Snoopea!! :hello: I was wondering where you had got to!!
:)
OH oh oh . Fathers day this weekend.. What is everyone doing??
didi - dh is going fishing or surfing then not to sure about the rest of the day. I might cook his favourite roast dinner. He is very tired atm, working looonnng hours trying to impress his new bosses. Olive and I made him a card with her hand print on it and i'm getting a pressie today.
Guess what? Olive is walking (I think) she is able to walk maybe 6-7 steps as of last night. It is so cute to watch. I'm very proud of her and she thinks she is super clever. She is standing heaps and want to walk lots. She is still crawling lots at this stage though.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend
yep we may aswell say jack is walking here...because he will walk...stack it then get back up and start again :D

Hey everyone and cute bubba's
Its been awhile since i have posted in here - but nothing has happened! B has all of a sudden decided to slow down on growing up! LOL
Still not walking - though wants too
And still only 2 teeth! is that normal? she got her 2nd tooth at 8.5mths and since then nothing else?
She has her 2nd last weight and height check this week on thursday - thought i would stop them once she reaches 1, when is everyone else stopping them if u havent already?
lol HJ, Mia still has no teeth, so im sure its fine :)
Mia wont get weighed and measured till her 12 month check now. I check her on ours, shes still not 10 kilos, tho she lost abit of weight since being sick. Ill prob head to the MCHN every 6 months to get her weight and height measured, more for my record than anything lol
Hi Girls,
HJ - I wont be getting Lara offically weighed and measured until her 12 month check up. She hasn't been measured since her 6 month needles but I weigh her every now and then on the scales at home. I weighed her a couple of wks ago and she was 9.1kg.
Lara is furniture walking but who knows when she'll take a few steps on her own, I am in no hurry for her to start walking just yet anyway. She has 6 teeth.
HJ & Hollye - Remember how I was asking you girls about christenings a few months ago??? We'll I am finally getting my bum into gear and organising Lara's. HJ you joked a few months back saying if I didn't hurry up I will end up having it combined with Lara's 1st birthday, well guess what? I am lol. Oh well kill 2 birds with the one stone as they say.
Has everyone started organising the 1st b'days yet? Gosh can you believe our bubbas are almost one? Is anyone pregnant again?
Gotta go, hope you all had a great weekend!
leigh ~ hun that is exactly what i have organised for Jacks 1st b'day :) his baptism that morning then party afterwards for lunch. Benn soo slack with it and now we are speaking with the family again all is good and back to normal to baptism can go ahead once again (was supposed to have been feb this year)
Leigh - Lara is a petite little girl - i think Miss B would be almost 10kgs now! and 6 teeth!!! my gosh all these teeth and we are still on 2! LOL
And OH MY GOSH what a big day u got ahead of you on Lara's Bday - hehehe - A christening and a 1st birthday! have fun with that! LOL but its a good idea!
Keep us updated on plans!
Fluff - have u got a little suit picked out for Jack? hehehe - sounds like ur in for a big day also!
Holl - any teeth yet?
HJ - Lara only had her two bottom teeth for ages, then all of a sudden the other four came through in a matter of like 2 wks, she was quite good while teething, thank god. Lara is a chubby bub so she might be pushing more towards the 10 kg mark now I reckon.
Fluff - Glad I'm not the only one doing the christening/1st b'day party. Good luck with Jack's, hope everything runs smoothly for you guys!!
not a suit as such...little white shirt & pale baby blue shortall overall type things...gotta get seme little white sandles/socks for him yet
