Hi chicks.....
Not much happening with me. Byron wouldn't take his EBM on Friday, I didn't try yesterday but will give it another go today. The poor little thing, I've been busy shopping & outings & he just doesn't sleep whilst out. Though he has been sleeping through the night every night. He woke at 6am this morning, not crying, just stirring. I thought I better get up & feed him as his last feed was 8pm.
It's good to have my GF up from Syd. She goes back tomorrow though.
Hope you're having a good weekend.
Kisses to all

New photos here!!
Hope everyone had a great Sunday. Pretty good day here. Although the heat is a shocker. I have been feeling a bit down, I just am so fed up with having no energy. I know my iron will re build and I am doing what I can but it is sooo frustrating to have a sleep and still feel like you have been hit by a mack truck and a train. :wall:
I will however brag on my little possum, she has been so good in this heat and her sleep is improving each day...but shhh don't tell her she might get ideas and mix it up to trick us!!
Well I should keep cooking dinner and I need to make some phone calls down south before it gets to late for them....Ahhh the joys of daylight saving...
See ya later alligator
-
Mia's been crying since 2pm!! omg! i dont know what more i can try!!! :(
-

Oh Hollye I know that is tough...I am sure you have tried but have you given her a bath? That sometimes helps Bethany. Also when she has been crying that long sometimes it is a pain thing and a half dose of panadol does the trick. Just something that works for me.
Thinking of you sweetie
-
hollye is she bring her knees up when crying> is it belly pain?
Try rubbing warm olive oil on her belly or putting her over your knees and rhymically patting her back then bottom. I do this with Ethan and he will cry for 20 minutes, fart then fall asleep?
Ethan cried heaps to day to hardly slept. Then did the biggest mumma of a poo at 430pm! so go figure he was crying all day. i just got him down at 8pm (otherwise only had a couple of power naps today - 30 mins etc).
But i agree with amy. ethan loves his bath (we have one of those terri towelling things he lays in).. but in saying that Ashley hated the bath until she was 7 months!! so it isnt for every bub.
hope the night gets better!!
-
shes finally asleep.. phew! 8 hours of screaming, that would be a record.
PP - nah she wasnt doing that. She was more shaking her arms around and trying to scratch her face. And spew.. lotsa spew.
Amy - yep i gave her a dose of panadol and rocked and rocked her and she drifted off.. oh man im sure DP was going to sell her on ebay! lol
off to try and get some sleep, i have a feeling it is going to be a loooong night.
-
Finally - BIG woooohooooo
Zander last fed at 6.30pm and went to bed at 7.15pm - he woke at 1am but gave him a dummy which he was happy with - and then woke at 5.45am for his next feed!!
:leap::leap::leap:
So I know he can do it - just need to find a way to push that 6.30pm feed to 7.30pm ...
So whilst I have been up early, I haven't been up (for him!) overnight - Giselle was still up at 1am telling me there were too many toys in her room and she couldn't sleep  so funny ... she must of remembered a conversation I was having with DH yesterday about cleaning out some of their toys in their rooms in preparation for Christmas!
Hollye - I hope you got some sleep and Mia just needed to get some wind out. I second PP's suggestions - a bath is great here too - Zander loves them.
Tanya - OMG I can't believe your SIL just didn't turn up!!! My sisters BIL and SIL just "didn't turn up" to their sons christening - they rang the next day to say they had "slept in" - people can be soooo inconsiderate sometimes.
Whenever I go to take Zander nappy off he smiles and can't wait, he loves being nudey - it does help them move more freely so good for prep for rolling etc. Just have to watch the firing wee missile
Getting ready for school - BBL

Hi all
Rough night here, nothing to do with Bethany either, I had night terrors and flashbacks all night. Thought I was over them... Need a complete outfit change at one point I had sweated that much. The bed will need doing too.
Feeling pretty fragile today. Need to get ready for mothers group...nervous about going, They all had pretty run of the mill births and post birth experiances (we shared birth stories one week) by the time it was my go I played most of mine down. :( I am shakey and teary.
Hollye~~ So glad the panadol helped, wish I could take credit for the idea but my aunt a retired NICU nurse told me that when Bethany was a few weeks old!! She said that often if they have been crying for that long it is a pain thing even if it didn't start as pain cause they work themselves up and cause pain so you need to break the cycle so to speak and a dose of panadol won't hurt em!
Sami~~ Woo hoo!!! Taking steps in the right direction!!!
Well I should get ready. I really don't want to but I don't want to stay home either.... Wish DH wasn't working today. I am scared of having a flashback while I am home alone with Bethany...
Ok getting myself worked up here over nothing. Need to get ready

sorry girls..i have been MIA for the past few days...
saturday we had preparation for Jacks baptism (in feb) and yesturday was DD dance concert :) (fun fun!!)
and this morning it was school presentation....
Jack has been good (has had his moments!!) he has now started NOT too drink all of his bottle and has discovered his tongue.. and pushing the teat of the bottle out with his tongue!!!! and also discovered how good his fist tastes!!! trys to eat his whole hand...
He is still co-sleeping with us and sleeping well...
Today has been interesting!!! i think someone has swapped my boy.... he has fed/played/slept without us having hissy fits... hmmmmm and he has slept in his pram...
-
katones - you must of swapped with my normally placid boy  Zander has still been placid, but has avoided sleep all afternoon with big grins, cute smiles and lots of gurgles - how are supposed to resist
But he;s in bed fast asleep now without fuss :)
-
jack WAS asleep but is now in my arms....now is his shiat time of the day usually.....
-
hey hey.
Mia went nuts again today so i took her to the doctors. Doc seems to think she has reflux and abit of colic :wall: she just cant win! So he has put her on a new formula to help the reflux and if that doesnt help then he wants me to put a little baby rice in her bottle. So today she did scream for 2 hours but it was hell of alot better than 8! Atm im so exhausted and just plain over it. Is it bad for me to feel this way? :(
So i got her to settle at 7pm and she has been asleep ever since.
It really feels like im losing the battle here. She was so good and now she has just turned evil! lol
so thats my day...
-
Hollye - Sorry to hear you and Mia are having a hard time. It's not bad to feel over it. I think every mother feels that way at times! Hopefully with the new formula things will improve!
katones - Sounds like you had a good day. :)
SamiH - Can you give Zander a bath at 6.30pm and then feed afterwards to help push the feed out? I sometimes give Maya a bath to help push the feed time out further.
amy - I hope your day turned out OK!
I've had a good couple of days. :) I enjoyed going to a 1st birthday party yesterday and catching up with friends. Maya didn't sleep while there and was unsettled but when we got home she went to sleep easily. Then today I had a friend come to visit and we went out for lunch. :) Again Maya didn't sleep while out, which is annoying. But hopefully she'll sleep well again tonight!
I really wish she'd sleep when I went out though! It would make life easier. I could then concentrate on whatever I was trying to do, rather than having to comfort her.
-
Tanya - great to hear you had a good day, and I agree, it is so much easier when they sleep if you're out & about. I always feel like i've half-listened to someone when he's unsettled... so much for my multi-tasking huh.
Hollye - big hugs for you hun and i'm so sorry to hear you've been having a rough time. If it helps any, X got very colicky about the same age, and suddenly wasn't his normal self. Once we got him on wind drops he went back to being his old self again...so I don't know how much harder the reflux is to get sorted, but I've got my fingers crossed that finding out what is wrong will mean you'll get big improvements very soon. Don't beat yourself up for being over it either - gosh anyone would be after 8 or 2 hours of screaming!!! It's so hard to listen to that... I'm sure they could have used it in torture camps! Repeat twenty times after me.. "I am a wonderful mummy!"
Katones - sounds like things are going great, specially when he's settled at that shiat time! Hope it continues for you! My neighbours are getting used to seeing me charge around the block at about 7pm.... that's our shiat time usually, but X skipped it today... how kind lol.
Amy_o - i hope mother's group went ok. I really felt for you, when I read how you're feeling... that must be horrible. I don't have much else to say, but sending big hugs your way and hope the day has improved.
SamiH - resistance to those cute grins & gurgles... nah you don't stand a chance! :p Oh yes, and i walk with X to push out that evening feed - but that's probably not an option for you with your other littlies... good luck, I'm sure he'll get there soon.
PP - ooooh our boys were in sync with their poops! X did the hugest poo while we had visitors. My friend (male, also a father - luckily!) was just staring at X in fascination as X did the whole grunting, turning red production - we all knew something big was coming... it was just hilarious! And of course, it did leak from both front & back... top & bottom! Wowsers!
We had a huge social weekend. We had friends visiting yesterday from 4pm... then some good friends wanted lunch & a lift to the airport - and they're dear dear friends who we treasure every moment seeing, so of course said yes... but big day for us (we usually try limit to one thing a day) but it all went brilliantly! I raced around on Sat and had EVERYTHING ready (figured the day would be a disaster if I didn't) and it all went beautifully, so that was a relief!!! Then today I finished my xmas shopping... I'd been thinking about getting X a santa's helper suit... and they were on special at Target!! SO cute, and I figure he can wear it to my work xmas bash, DH's work's bash, and Xmas & boxing day do's... that's pretty good going!!
X has decided he doesn't want to be wrapped anymore, and keeps wriggling out of them and sleeping the way HE wants... pic of his fave new sleeping pose... tehehe... and then he went on safari!!!! (ok so mummy had some time to spare..... ahem!)
hi to everyone else, hope your weeks are going well
-
 belfie - you need another baby, quick - or if you have spare time come and help me LOL;)
-
lol you might be right! Btw, did you get your Zander a panda? BIL got it for us, and DH was thrilled as he had been planning to get him a panda for most of the PG!
-
HA! Sadly, his nicknames are Zander panda, or Zander boo .... Giselle calls him Boo now like the little girl off Monsters Inc LOL. Riley and DH calls him Zander panda pudding and pie, kissed the girls and made them cry - what's with that????
Yes, he does have a panda
-
haha love those names and I'm relieved he has a panda - wouldn't be right otherwise!! Our nicknames seem to have "departed" from his real name (mostly DH's fault).... Xandy, Xandy-Pants, Mr Xandy-Pants, Mr Pants (you may see a pattern here...), Mr Dude Pants, Mr Bottom Pants, Mr Cheeks (when the bottom was getting fatter!)...
-
went to doctors yesterday n it turned out my red dots were a really bad allergy reaction, so have to take antihistamine for a few days...while we were there dragon had his shots too...didnt turn out too bad. he was sleepin at first so he pretty much went bad to sleep after the shots hehe
picked up our photos over the weekend, turned out pretty good. Will post them up eventually.
just out of curiousity, what do u like to carry ur bub around with? we've got an ergo, i dont mind it but i wanna get a sling or something so that it'd be easier to do stuf ard the house as it's almost impossible to bend with the ergo...
ALSO, is anyone considering another baby soon? or taking a break before thinkin abt another one??
-
teruteru - NOPE WE ARE DONE :) Hun, I have 3, that is just fine for us
I have a Baba Sling and use it heaps for dragging bubs in and out of the car for school runs, taking DD to childcare (50 metre walk ;)), and used it heaps for grocery shopping, but now he has some head control he can start to go into the trolley capsules. I love it. Also when DH is away and I need him to have that awful late arvo nap I pop him in the sling so I can still get stuff done like pack bags for the next day, readers, all that ... he will snooze for up to an hour!
hope that helps.
belfie - when we were getting ready to leave this morning Giselle said - Mum, don't forget Boo! SO there you go ....
WOOOHOOOO DH went out and bought all the Wii stuff this morning so I am gunna wrap the accessories up now "for him", it's a start.
Riley had Christmas story play this morning, Catholic story - not Santa - and it was soooooo good. I think we were all surprised for 5/6yo how well they all did. So very proud :clap: Zander slept in the sling the whole time ;)
-
teru I would really love another but 5 was DH's limit and we're at it now, so unfortuneately no more for me, just have to wait for my brother and SIL to start having kids that I can get clucky over.
Hi everyone else.
Well I've had a crappy few days, Lockie had a birthday party on Sunday and that went well and Sunday night we went to look at christmas lights and while out Wyatt threw up in the car. Got home and boys went to bed, then at 1:30am I get woken to Kailen crying and then running to the loo and throwing up (great). Then yesterday after all the commotion of the early morning I have two boys throwing up and crying and with the crying it kept Julian awake, just couldn't win. Kalien was better by about lunch time and Lockie is only just getting better this morning (oh the joys of stomach bugs).
This morning I had my 6 week check, all good, except BP is up a little still and will have to keep an eye on it. Wyatt and Julian got their needles done, wow what an experience getting a 4 yr old to try and sit still in a bear hug long enough for two needles, but I think the jellybeans and lollies that he got spoilt with after by the nurse fixed it, lol. Julian had a little cry and then had some boobie and is now in bed sound asleep, so far so good.
hugs xoxo

teru
i have a sling (babyrock) and i use it when i am out and about with Ethan :)
As for more kids SOON... ammmm NO. we are finished too. lol 2 under 16months is enough for me!")
Amanda - we tricked ashlye with her shots. I made her a choc milkshake and sat her on my lap, while she was drinking it she didnt notice me hold her tight and then OUCH lol... she screamed then went back to sdrinking.... 4 year old are next (yay for 2.5 years of no needles!)
-
we are going to start trying next year (december IVF) for my last (that will be number 4)
we started last december had egg pick up in Jan.. and found out the 15th Feb we were pregnant!!! so if all goes well next time round we will hopefully have another bub due when Jack turns 2 :D
-
belfie - Those pics are so cute. :)
teruteru - I've got a hug-a-bub and a bubba moe sling. Maya hates the bubba moe and I don't like it either. I find it too uncomfortable and hard on the back. She likes the hug-a-bub and there are many positions you can put baby in. I find it much nicer on my back but it does hurt my shoulders after a while. Also it takes a while to tie it around myself! But I tried a baby bjorn that my cousin has and I found that it was easier to put on but more uncomfortable to wear.
We won't be trying for another baby straight away. We have no plans for when we'll have another baby.
I look forward to seeing your pics of Dragon! :)
Amanda - Hope your boys are feeling better soon!
My DH rang me a little while ago to tell me that they are giving everyone a 10% pay cut at his work! :( Great timing!! He'll have a day off every fortnight with the pay cut though. So it's kinda a good thing and a bad thing. It'll be nice to have him home an extra day a fortnight but we could really use that money!! :wall:
-
belfie- was it u that had the tommee tippee bottles?? anyways i know what u mean that it leaks. Just got a 260ml one n it leaks a lil. didnt have the prob with the 150ml one thou...
thanks for the diff suggestions of slings, will look into them :P
we plan to hav the next kid in early 2010 (yr of tiger) so guess will b tryin next yr. DP was jst wrkin out when i need to stop BFin...had always thought id stop ard 3mths but i enjoy it so guess will b extendin it to 6 LOL
do ur bubs tend to suck for the sake of suckin?? i dont mind it, but it jst makes a mess...any help to reduce it?
-
Teruteru..i had the tommee tippee bottles and yep they do leak sometimes....
yeah we are hoping for a 2010 bub... as i need to have atleast 2yrs between caesars.... but this will be my last caesar (it will be number 4)
i have a ring sling i bought it off ebay..it is a godsend (it is called a Tillysling)
I have taken some chrissie pics of Jack

Teruteru - it wasn't me with Tommy Tippee - I'm using Medela... which are also prone to leaking  I also found when I was BF'ing that X would stay on as long as I would let him... he was quite happy to wile away the hours regardless of whether he was getting any good milk or not!!
Re slings, I've got a loaned baby bjorn that i'm using, which I find pretty good - but haven't tried anything else yet. I'm probably going to get an ergo down the track...maybe.
Tanya - thanks re the pics, call me biased but I love 'em. I'm a photo addict I think.
I'd like to have a second bubba, and hope to have "it" second half of 2010. I like the idea of re-using my mat clothes, and then the bubba would be born similiar time of year to X... it would all just be so convenient (big assumption that it would go to plan hahaha!)... but honestly I loved the timing climate-wise of this PG, it was awesome. My DH thinks I'm so silly to plan it around clothes though  but my obs says try to aim for delivery at about 36/37 y.o. if I can and not to tempt fate by leaving it longer if I don't have to...we'll see how I feel about that next year! Gotta DTD first hahaha!
Edit: geesh was just looking at all your ages in your sigs... feelin' old now!!! Eeeep! (X was born a week and a half before my 35th birthday)
-
Hi all, Hope everyone is going good and coping with the week before christmas madness. I had to go to the shops today for some last minute gifts....bad idea....
Anyway little possum is still sleeping so I am going to catch up around here while I have the chance!!
-
all going OK here..
EXCEPT for Jacks new trick...NOT drinking all his bottle!! sometimes only drinking 1/2 a bottle or pushing the teat around with his tongue/chomping down on the teat
he is still having wet/pooey nappies so i am not overly worried.
H has had 2 decent sleeps today (in his pram) but i have place a pillow in there to raise his head abit more... and he has slept soundly....
I can't believ how fast it has gone since he was born!!!!!
-
Kat - maybe he is just having his moments with the bottle
like you said he is still putting out wet nappies so not to worry! and woohoo on the sleeps!
Amy_o i have vowed not to go to the shops again!!! well not on my own with 2 kids lol.. it is ridiculous out there!! what happened to 24 hr shopping.. that would have suited could have gone at 3am lol... well ify ou are up anyhow why not hahahaha
Belf - not strange at all to plan around clothes... trust me woul dhave been easier. i had one in june and one in oct. nothing Ashley had will fit ethan in the right season!!! lol and for maternity clothes well they arent cheap you know. just tell DH you are being considerate of his bank balance .
And i hear ya on the DTD comment:lol: poor dh's
Teru- the only suggestion is to give a dummy maybe?it is very normal for them to suck for comfort :) Year of the tiger sounds nice btw.. is it significant of anything for you?
Tanya - sorry to hear about the paycut. but i honestly believe no money can ever replace the time you get to spend as a family. i wish i had DH home more - cant wait for the holidays to start next week. i get him for a whole 2 weeks wooohooo
Amanda - how are the boys.. is the gastro bug gone? how is your milk bath!! lol hope you have had a chance to relax!!
Sami H - go on test the wii out while DH isnt looking... you know you want to!
HOllye - how is that precious mia? when is the big move btw?
Kurazia - Where are you hun... we are missing you. hope all is ok at home :)
Georgi - How is byron? I sooo am trying to convince DH to bring me down one weekend lol... we will be down at tweed boxing day though!!!
If i have missed anyone it wasnt intentional... it is getting hard to write between long stretches lol... *hugs*...
what is santa bringing bubs for xmas?????
Santa brough Ethan his cradle swing early... ill put a bow on it for him heheh :)
Otherwise all is ok here. Had a mini melt down yesterday from being at the shops and toddler tantrums and baby :) arrrhhhh.. otherwise ethan is doing ok. looking around heaps and really wants to talk away and interact... i love this part when it becomes more rewarding....
-
Hello, I hope it's ok to jump in here and say hi :) I'm Kat, mum to 4 little munchkins, the latest arriving Oct 3rd this year. Domenik was a very much wished for baby - we had to go down the path of assisted conception to have him - in total 7 years TTc and we have our little miracle!!
Right at this moment he is on daddy's lap resisting sleep.. think I'll have to go rescue him... (Dom that is)
Looking forward to getting to know everyone here :)
-
Hiya Kat....welcome to our little thread....
-
Kat welcome, I hope that you are getting little Dom off to sleep now.
PP nope haven't had my milk bath yet :(, yeah gastro bug has now left the building, have been disinfecting everything, lol.
Belfie you got to love when they start to play at feed time, hopefully he will start having his full bottle again soon.
Hi everyone else, I hope you are all doing well and bubs are growing up big and strong.
Well Julian had a slight temp last night from the needles, so gave him a little panadol and he was fine, he was still a bit unsettled today, not sure if it's from the stinking hot weather or the needles but he's in bed now. All the other boys are better now, gastro has gone thank god, glen20 has been my best friend for the last few days.
hugs xoxo
-
Hi Kat!! Welcome to our little online mothers group!!!
-
jst a quick one, am buggered frm shopping. i really cant understand those who loves to shop. my body's sore all over :(
hi kat, welcome :D
PP- no real significance except that DP wants to name boy Tiger. so tiger born in yr of tiger is pretty cool LOL
-
Teruteru - I don't love to shop... I just love the outcome of shopping  but like you, my body just don't have the same shopping stamina anymore!
Amanda - good to hear that Julian's temp has settled and the gastro has departed, fingers crossed everything stays that way!
kat*am*i - hey welcome! I'm a gatecrasher, Xander was born 25th of Sep, but we had hardly anyone in our group so we've joined yours (there's a few others in the same boat). What are your other little munchkins, boys or girls?
i hope everyone else is going well. Had MIL over today she was good - X did try to charm her which was very nice of him. He's 12 weeks tomorrow, can't believe it's gone that quick! Some days it's almost like I know what I'm doing!!! :o
Zander - Xander says happy 12 weeks for tomorrow
-
belfie- believe it or not, i HATE shopping!! i only go when i need to go, but i LOVE the supermarket thou :) since being pregnant ive done alot of window shoppin online, but all my purchases have all been nappy related lol.
ETA- btw how is ur travel bottle warmer shoppin going? have u tried bambini pronto? im gonna get a car one off ebay for now & keep looking...
-
welcome kat!
PP - still working on that one. If we have enough money saved then hoping sometime in Feb. Woot woot! KIK!
sorry thats about all the personals i can manage atm.
Mia is a little better thank god. The new formula seems to be working well. Tho it took about 3 hours to settle her tonight. I over fed her coz i thought thats what she wanted but it wasnt, she was just drinking coz she was tired. She does that. So lotsa spew and screaming and the poor lil possum has finally gone to sleep for the night. She still has a runny/snotty nose.... it wont go away!! how can i get it to go away??? Im hoping they are going to let her have her needles tomorrow. shes 8 weeks today! woohoo!!
anyway im off to catch some zzzzzz's talk soon mwah xoxoxoxoxo
-
Thanks so much for the welcome  I didn't tell you much about myself did I lol Our munchkins (terrors, gremlin, brats etc etc) other than Domenik are Aleksandir 10.5yrs, Kahli 9yrs and William 8yrs in Feb. So current count is 3 boys 1 girl. We're not 100% certain if Dom will be it for us - because it took so long to have him there' such a big age gap between the older three and him and I never wanted to have an 'only' child as such. Dom will be starting primary school when the older ones are all in high school - he'll be all alone.... and to be honest I'd truly love another little girl - but can my sanity do it LOL
Dom is in his cradle beside me now snoring his head off. We had a paed appointment today. He's had a few minor issues since he was born. Started with a clicky hip that has righted itself with cloth nappy use (yaay!), he has a condition called phimosis (the opening of the foreskin is too small resulting in secondary issues - being circumcised some time in 2009 as result), and immature trachea which means he is always sounding rattley and has a shrill strider when crying - again can create secondary issues if he gets a cough or croup style illnesses and last but not least he also has a squint which will be looked into by an ophthalmologist in Jan... Basically today we were reassured all is going well despite all this. He is growing well and is a happy little boy and to keep going as we are for now :)
Ok think I've dribbled enough LOL I should head o bed - tomorrow is the last day of school for the year here so no doubt the kids will be up and excited to see the end of it as soon as possible (nooooooooooo!!!! LOL)
-
