PP - I'm lucky when it comes to spew actually. Maya didn't spew for the first few weeks and now she only spews after some feeds. There's only been a couple of times when she's spewed on me! Actually recently my DH said that when we were out one day I had spew all down my back but he didn't tell me cos he thought I was happier not knowing it was there. :rofl: So the big spew she did the other day after the trip to my FILs was a shock to me!

Sami - I agree that my ILs are actually trying to help and I'm not annoyed at my ILs even though they do frustrate me sometimes. It wasn't my MIL who grabbed Maya off me it was my FIL's partner, whom I don't even know that well cos she never comes out to any gatherings. Recently she kept making plans to come see Maya and then not show up, which is so annoying! She also orders my FIL to not see people if she's annoyed with them (and then he sneaks around behind her back). That's not someone with good intentions.

Georgi - I forgot to say before - good news about the results. :)

Today I'm attempting another trip out. My DH is going to a bucks do starting in the afternoon and he'll be back late at night. So I'm going to drive to my mother's. It's a long drive! Hopefully Maya will be ok!

Hun, you got your threads crossed - I would never give up dairy either lol - someone in your other thread said they gave up all dairy - I read it yesterday and felt very selfish cos I couldn't/wouldn't do it .....

Tanya - sorry bout the inlaw confusion!!!

I am dead tired today - Zander is feeding scrappy again so wanting to feed overnight at the moment despite my best attempts to settle him. However he does go straight to sleep again but it means I am up for an hour during the night and an early morning again boohoo.

katones - I wouldn't be worrying about Jack if I were you - he is a great size!

nah..NOT worrying any more....gave up worrying!! he will eat what satisfies him....he is gaining weight and yes he is a good size....

has any1 ever applied for a passport for a baby? how would u go abt gettin the photo done?

This morning DP said he doesnt feel like he's been a father lately. its cos he hasnt really helped with anything. what can i do to make him feel less this way without causing to much hassle (considerin his current state)?

ETA- im thinkin ahead of time but how would i go abt switching dragon frm bf to formula? would it take a while for him to adapt? im thinkin of when he's ard 6mths or so (roughly when he starts solids)

SamiH - yep i know lol i am just a scatterbrain and often say a thousand thoughts at once lol

Teru - can he do the bath? DH does this and after i have fed will lay DS next to DH for father/son talks lol...

As for formula. DD went to formula at 7 months and she took to it well. I was going to wean slowly - subsituting a feed for a few days then 2 feeds etc but once she got the taste she didnt want boob and we ended up weaning cold turkey

We're having a good time here in Tassie - all the rellies very glad to see my little man... but he's been quite unsettled - heaps of people around, noise, different temperature etc. I don't know what's happening with the air down here, but both X and DH's skin is SO dry! And it's been so cold cold cold (15 degrees :o) which I think isn't helping. We were already moisturising EVERY nappy change, but now X's poor little head & body are so flakey and dry (like all-over dandruff!) - we're actually moisturising twice every feed! I double checked at the pharmacy and we're using all the right stuff etc etc (plus he's got eczema prescription creams) but he's just getting drier and drier. I feel so sorry for him! Hopefully he'll come good when we get home. I'm also taking fish oils & evening primrose oil so hopefully that'll come through in the milk & help too... :crossfingers: Any other tips?

He was good on the flight though, just fed on the descent which seemed to make him happy (which is lucky cos it was VERY turbulent). Oh and everyone in the rows behind us was beaming cos he was sitting beaming at me... hehe so cute.

Mia's is on the 8th :) im having the same problem.

thought about putting him in a lil suit? they are cute for christenings.

do you have to have full on gowns?
Ashley wore pink to her's and the priest didnt mind at all (i checked first).

i know holls you arent prob near one but myer have heaps on sale atm.

her perhaps see if some one can sew you up one. wouldnt cost more than buying one?

lol katones. Mia is still a dodgy drinker. Shes more of a grazer IYKWIM. Shes STILL lucky to down 80 mls and if i try and get her to drink more she vomits it up. So ill just go with the flow.

Sami I'm so glad that you said that Zander was waking overnight again, I was going to post to see if anyone had starting getting up thru the night, as Julian has been waking for a feed between 12-2am now and boy am I feeling it after him sleeping thru for the past 5 or so weeks.

I have found lately..Jack is going down alot easier after i leave him 45/60mins after his feed, just letting him have a play in his bouncer..til he gets grizzly.. he then gets wrapped and given his dummy..and patted for abit he is sound asleep :) makes life much easier!!!! BUT at times he has his tanty then fights sleep.

I hope we find a christening dress soon!!!

We're going to a wedding this Saturday and I'm struggling to find a nice dress with a matching jacket that doesn't cost too much. I've seen some nice dresses actually, but I can't find any jackets for sale in the shops at the moment! I've also now got the added problem that size 000 is a bit too small and 00 is too big! :rolleyes:

Amanda - Yep I am now getting up in the night again and Maya is wanting more feeds in the day - I guess it's another growth spurt time. I read the extra feeding is only supposed to last 2 to 3 days but it's been longer than that for me. And yes I am really feeling it too! I am so exhausted at the moment.

PP - I had a good day out on Saturday. The drive is between an hour to an hour and a half and normally Maya can't stand to be in the car very long. But she did OK! :) Someone gave us some socks with rattle toy things on them. So I used them hoping it might distract her. Not sure if that helped or she was just tired enough to sleep!?

katones - Maya suddenly seems to be sleeping better too! I'm not sure if that's part of the growth spurt too or she's just older now?! Towards the afternoon and evening though I still have to rock her to sleep and resettle but I don't have to do it for as long. :)

My DH is back at work today after 2 weeks at home. :( I'm going to start looking at moving closer to family and friends because I think I will get lonely again now that he's gone back to work.

Have you tried pumpkin patch for a nice little dress?? you are lucky...shopping for boys clothes is shiat!!! basically it is 90% girls clothes out there and 10% boys and i have questioned afew shop people re:- this and they have said people prefer to dress little girls up there really is NO need to dress little boys up :( very sad attitude!!!
Jack still doesn't like the car :( BUT if we are going out all together i sit in the back and entertain :) hubby finds this rather amusing :p only 2 and abit kgs to go...and he can be turned around!!!!! woo hoo!!

katones - Yep it's so nice having Maya more settled. I can get more stuff done now, rather than constantly rocking and resettling!

I looked at Pumpkin Patch and I found some dresses I loved but they were $40 and I didn't want to spend that much on a dress she'll only wear once probably. I did buy a nappy cover to go under a dress though.

If we all go out together I also sit in the back and entertain Maya on long trips!! I thought I was probably the only person who did that!

NOPE you are not alone in sitting in the back!!!! hubby gets a laugh BIG time out of it...and has a name for me when i do it...but i best not write that here coz i might get into trouble :p

Question: Just in the last couple of weeks Maya doesn't like to be held by anyone other than DH or I. Before then anyone could hold her. Now she starts crying as soon as anyone else picks her up and she'll keep crying till DH or I hold her. Is that just what happens around 3 months? Is anyone else or has anyone else experienced this change? If so, how long does it last for?

lol Tanya... DD is sometimes still like that at 18 months!

DS only like me, sometimes DH. as they get closer to 6 months they will become more social, but they will always prefer their parents. I find the best time for a hold for guests is straight after a sleep and feed!

ive always sat in the back since dragon came out. in fact it was very sstrange sittin in passenger seat once when we left him with my mum to go to the shops!! we really should change him out of the capsule soon...

amanda- is that the ssanta sssuit frm target in ur sig? coss we got 1 too!! very cute :)

I've tried giving her to someone after a good sleep and feed and she will still cry. :( It's going to be tough at the wedding on Saturday cos DH is best man so he won't be around to help as much and I'm not sure if I'll be able to give her to anyone to hold while I eat or use loo, etc. :wall:

Tanya - you may have to let her cry from 15 minutes so you can eat.
Unfortunately bubs tend to do this :(

I had to carry DS the whole of DH's xmas party (6 hours) and was exhausted but he wanted his mumma. I gave him to DH so i could go to the toliet/change DD and he screamed the whole time but he just took him where i couldnt hear it.

Have you got a sling? Perhaps family can wear her in a sling?

weven't come across Jack crying when held by other people yet...note i said "yet" i am waiting for that....he does 'sometimes' tend to cry when he goes from me to hubby :( and hubby gets abit peeved....
well we have a baptism gown woo hoo!!!! now....i am waiting on a nappy cover :)

PP - It's a good friend of my DH who's getting married and I don't know anyone who's going very well. I don't mind if Maya cries while I eat I'm more thinking of the person who has to hold her. Not sure if there will be any volunteers to hold a screaming baby while I eat or not. :lol: But I guess my DH can spare some time here and there to take her off my hands. And maybe someone there will not mind holding a crying baby. I've just found lately that now that she cries in people's arms they are always in a huge hurry to pass her back to me. :lol:

Tanya - as hard as it is to hear the crys. i fyou need 10 minutes to eat or pee lol just pass her on and tell them, 'she may cry'

Also i am sure DH can take her even if he is at the bridal table. i owuld just sit down with him before hand so he understands.

it made me think of when DD was 13 monthso ld and we went to a wedding. It was a family wedding so heaps of family there lol. But she didnt want anyone but me or DH to hold her. It was a short night, i told DH i would take her home (i almost 7 months preg at the time and it was hard to hold her)... and he could stay but he insisted we went home together.

Also i told the bride before hand that i would be taking a pram../. the one thing i have learnt is BABIES LOVE loud muffled music. And i had the pram off to the side - everyone knew she was there and would check in on her and she slept weel from about 8pm.

We toook DD as a babie to lots of xmas parties etc and she would go to sleep tothe muffled bands and music. so just check with the bride they dont mind you taking a pram, and they may be kind enough to seat you somewhere suitable to have a pram close by you could rock bubs to sleep during dinner ?

Actually I don't feel like Maya is welcome at the wedding. The bride to be didn't want me to bring her and I had to explain that I'm BF. Then the bride to be said that there's a room at the reception where I can leave Maya. And I had to explain that you can't leave a 3 month old alone in a room somewhere. Then the bride to be said she didn't want Maya to cry during the ceremony and I told her I can't control that. I think the venue staff talked sense into her actually and they organised for me to sit somewhere where I can have a pram next to me.

AmandaJ - yeah it poops me that he is waking again, but what can you do??? After the two dummy pops I get the picture he now wants a feed, and honestly Zander is quick feed and back to bed, so is quicker too hehehe. It is hot here too so he is probably thirsty - hopefully just another stage .....

katones - i know what you mean about boys clothes, it doesnt change when they get older too does it! I am godmother at a christening in 2 weeks and I have got the feeling she expects us to be really dressed up - she has two girls so they always get the whole works. Anyway, what does Riley wear - he will be nearly 6 - he can wear a shirt, but he doesn't have dress pants - so he will still wear jeans - and then footwear, he doesnt have dress shoes - she will just have to accept it.

Tanya - ok, after they are married and down the track she has had her first child - you and DH renew your vows or something and then try and tell her her baby can't come! Man, 3 month olds are not a disrution, they are a blessing, i cant believe she commented about her crying during the ceremony - so what, it should be special cos you have the people there who you want to share the special moment with - as youcan tell I could go on :redface: try best & less for some dresses at the moment, they have some with tuille underneath for $20 I know in size 1 but not sure about smaller. Just a nice sundress is fine.

Zander is fine being held by someone else, as long as I am within eyesight or earshot - but this changes all the time - but cos i have other kids he has gotten used to me saying to my friends etc - here just give him a cuddle whilst i do .... for the other kids.

We are having Zander baptised but not until 19/04 - we have to travel to Ballarat for family as they all won't come up here - so first school holidays we will go. I would rather do it here where our life and friends are - but ho hum. Riley wore black pants and a white shirt set I bought super cheap for $30 and he was 7 months, but Zander is going to be smaller than Riley was at his age so I will need to buy something - but I won't have him in a gown at 7 months - will have to start looking ....

the gown we have bought is vintage looking and is cotton.. got it for $54 all up including postage..which we were very happy with :D
SamiH...are you catholic? do you have to do prep before christening/baptism? we had to do a prep session before Jacks baptism
so true about boys clothes not much being available and no it doesn't get any easier as they get older...

teru yeah it is the christmas one from Target, with the reindeer on the butt, it's so cute.

It's DH's birthday today, not much going on will have to get his present later in the week once I have been payed. Better go and sit with him, lol.

i have a sick lil man :( he just wouldn't go down before 12 last night then snuffled most of the night and was awake screaming blue murder at 4.30am :( a very unsettled unhappy sick lil man :( and 1 tired mummy

Tany a - i find a lot of brides are like that... but honestly if you child is screaming do they think you would sit next to the alter so no one could hear the ceremony??? :(

Sami-H we are tempted to just go to the church ourselves for the baptism for E. So hard to do the family thing as there will be close to 100 people there (nicks family is HUGE). Boo for having to drive to ballarat for yours!

Hi girls, just thought I would pop in and say hi. I have been reading and lurking but with so much going on not posting. I am having some pretty serious issues with my Bipolar, almost ended up with an admission last week. Thankfully made it to yesterday to see the psych and figure out the problem. Hopefully all things going well my normal self should be returning sometime round the end of the week thank goodness!!! Its been a rough few weeks, it started before Christmas. Unfortunately I need to start a new medication which is never fun and this one comes with serious drink lots of water or else warnings. I am so bad at doing that, but I am going to have to find a way.
All the bubs have changed so much in the ticker photos!!
Hope all the mums are going well.
Hopefully will be back for real soon. :)

amy_o..hugs hun!!! i know what you are going through....my FIL is bi-polar/manic depressive and so is my dad :(
we are off to the drs at 11...Jack is vomitting from all the phlegm :( NOT a happy camper...BUT he is happily in his bouncer watching dora :)

katones - I hope Jack is feeling better soon! Yeah I was annoyed at the bride to be's comments. But I want to go to this wedding because the groom is a good friend of mine and my DH is the best man. Also, normally I really like the bride to be but she's become obsessed about her wedding being perfect and she has no concept of what babies are like.

PP - Yeah the bride is so worried about babies and children ruining her wedding that she basically said people couldn't bring their children. Maya will the only child there. We had a few children at our wedding and I don't even remember if any of them cried or not?!

Sami - I can't wait till the bride has a baby of her own. She's actually decided that having Maya there will be a good thing now.. because she'll look good in photos! :rolleyes:

The last few nights I've had to get up during the night again to feed Maya but I have put her straight back down (without any rocking) after the feed and she's 'talked' for a bit then gone to sleep!!! :hooray: Here's hoping she's learning to settle herself now!! :)

I am just NOT happy with what either the gp or our paed has said in regards to Jacks chest...i am getting a second opinon from my dads DR and then hopefully see the paed that is in that centre....he just isn't getting any better.
