Kell - we had a better night, thanks. IKWYM about the sizing. Emma doesn't seem to fit the same sizes in different brands so it makes it hard - esp buying off ebay!
Kristie - glad you had a better night too. I haven't dropped any feeds & wouldn't dare LOL. I'd be too scared she'd wake more at night!
Tracey - cool meeting lots of celebs!
I've just come back from the gym. I've had big issues with the creche manager, & I'm afraid they arent going away. Emma bawled as soon as she saw her yesterday. Today she was crying, but a really sad cry IYKWIM. Like as soon as she saw me she got emotional & then happy as soon as I cuddled her. I might add she isn't like that normally when I leave her, it's only with this one lady. I REALLY don't like her & it's becoming a really big issue for me. My gym time keeps me sane, I love it, but I feel so lousy leaving Emma with someone I dislike so much...
-
Nikki - You've made my day to hear that bub is still in place  Time for some major R and R for you I think...
Kell - I refuse to buy anything for Benjamin off the rack, unless he's there now, and would rather buy his tops and bottoms seperate because he's also odd sizes top and bottom. I prefer to go op shopping for some things. Singlets and socks I prefer to buy new.
Tracey - Big W up here sells bonds all in one suits up to size one. They are a very small size one though.
Melissa
-
Nikki, I am SOOOO glad everything is ok with bubs. Now we just have to pray your little fighter keeps swimming and that your bleeding stops soon! Sending all the "get well" vibes I can muster.... Will be thinking of you.
Hi all, I sooo know what u mean about clothes sizes. Jess is a size 0, but in a lot of her size 0 suits she pops the press studs *LOL*. Little porker is 9kgs already! But she's so active and cute. The only prob is she's already got me worked out and knows if she cries I pick her up. So have recently decided to break her of that. Well the Tantrums she throws when I don't pick her up! Talk about EAR SPLITTING! But she doesn't realise that makes me more determined not to give in to her. So battle of wills here!!
We get the keys to OUR OWN HOUSE today. Our very first house! I am so happy. Not happy about the state the vendors left it in. It hasn't even been vacummed and the carpets are dirty, dust everywhere, one of the walls has a gouge out of it and there is nothing we can do about it! We tried fighting for some of our money back to cover the expense of fixing and cleaning, but they say it's not bad and the stupid estate agent agrees with them! *GRRRRRR!* If we pull out we lose 20K so we have to go ahead (and we want to too as we love the house....just not happy they won't even give us $250 to cover cleaning expenses etc). So this afternoon will be spent cleaning and moving boxes....Yay. A GF of mine has said she will babysit for me which is HEAVEN sent as don't know how we can clean carpets when two babies are playing on them....
Give your bubbas a hug for me. I'd better run! Talk to you later!!!!!!!
-
congrats on your new home Kerrie!! How exciting. I hope the move goes well!
-
Hi!
Linda - sorry to hear your still having dramas at the gym. What a pain - can you change gyms? Not that you should have to but maybe just for your own sanity and of course Emmas wellbeing. How frustrating though!!! I think you should at least be allowed to terminate your membership without incurring fines....
Kerrie - What a cheeky little thing! hehehe. They work us out pretty quickly don't they?? Louis is now so hard put down in his cot during the day - I'm sure it's because he knows how to stand up in there now and it's more fun than just closing his eyes and going to sleep. Everytime I go in and put him back on his back he cracks it big time! Little Terrors......
Congrats on moving into your house!! How exciting for you. Getting the girls babysat sounds like a great idea. It would be so hard. Grr at them leaving it in such a mess - I don't know how people can do that - it's so rude.
-
just got back from the health center, chantelle is developing really well and they are happy with her except for her weight.she has weighed in at 6.9 kilos.she is just under the 10th percentile and only put on 300 grams in 2 months.they want to see her again in 4 weeks to monitor it,im not sure why she is so little as she breast feeds well and on demand and has her 3 solid meals a day with no problems at all.i think it is just that she has been sick alot this last few months and maybe becuase my milk has changed...dont know....they havnt told me to change anything...so we will see how she goes in 4 weeks time.she slept all night last night again with 1 feed at 4.30...woohooo!!!!
nikki
-
I would try not to worry too much about it Nikki, they are all different & some very active which burns more off.
Kristie - Yeah, I could change gyms, there is only one other one though & it's not nearly as good. All the good instructors are at the one I'm at. but if it came down to it I would change. I have been thinking a lot about it too. I think though that if I told them I was leaving they would do something more about the situation. I just don't want it to come to that...
-
Hi!
Nikki - That's great that Chantelle is going well - I wouldn't stress too much - they're obviously not too worried if she's doing so well in every other area and eating plenty. How are you feeling today?
Linda - What an awkward situation. I would sit down with one of the managers and tell them you feel you have no choice but to leave if they won't do anything but would love to stay???? What a pain - especially when it's something you enjoy so much...grrrr
-
Hi
Tracey - Yep all the men in dh's family are over 6'4 (up to 6'8, i also think he has an uncle who is close to 7' )
Linda - I hate that different brands have different sizes, Molly can be anywhere from a 3 to a 5! I try and layby their clothes for the next year in advance but it's getting harder to pick the sizes, i wish i could use ebay more too... Can you go to the gym at a time when that lady is not there? maybe you should speak to the gym manager, it could be that other parents are having the same issues and they need to do something? I think i read in another thread you had written a letter - did that go anywhere?
Kerrie - Congrats on the new house, that must be soooo exciting (apart from the mess grrr)
Kristie - Thanks for your thoughts, mum's tests came back NEGATIVE YAY!! She still has to have a colonoscopy every two years from now on tho..
Nikki - YAY on the great sleeping - you need it :D I wouldnt worry too much about the weight gain, as you say she has been sick and it sounds like she is happy and content so obviously eating as much as she needs.
I am so sick of being sick!! I have now caught Molly's cold, just as she gets over it grrr. Now that she has started school she catches everything and then of course i catch it off her! We have a local dept store having a huge kids clothes sale atm, yesterday i got a gorgeous spud kids winter coat from $40 reduced to $10! I might go back today and have another look (molly had a tanty when i wouldnt buy her gumboots so i had to leave :))
Hope you all had a good sleep last night...
-
Hi!
Well we had an ok night. Louis was so excited to have his cousins over last night that he wouldn't eat his dinner or have his last feed properly so I was up feeding him at 5am this morning. It took a while to get him back down but he had a bit of a snooze to 7.20am. The best thing was that my niece and nephew then looked after him and I slept in for another hour! Woo hoo. They're 7 and 9 so they just loved it!!
Kell - I'm so glad to hear about your mum - what a relief!!! Winter's so bad for colds - they just seem to go around and around. Sounds like a great sale - worth going back to thats for sure!
I'm off to myer toy sale today with the kids just to see if there's anything worth Lay-bying for his b'day.....
-
Kell - I'm glad your Mum's results were good, what a relief! Yay on the sale! Sounds great!
Yep, I did write a letter, & they did talk to her. Things improved for a shoer while. The manager asked how it was & I said it was a lot better. But now it's up to **** again. She wasn't there today so I stayed for longer & enjoyed not worrying the whole time.
Kristie - 5am is not too bad. Sounds like he had fun anyway!
-
Had a nice day today
Linda is it possible for you to workout when this lady isnt working? If the manager can tell you when she is working maybe you could work around it. Pain in the A*** i know but atleast you wouldnt be stressing about how Emma was.
Kerrie congrats on the new house. Bummer the left it in a mess however thats easy fix though. Good idea to have the girls look after whilst you cleaned the carpets. How are you all settling in?
Nikki I am sure that Chantelle is doing fine. She is a petite little girl so I wouldnt expect her to weight a lot. She isnt like my little guy :) Glad to see you had a good night sleep. 1 feed at 4.30 is a great improvement.
Kristie I hope you find some nice bargains at the toy sale. I cant beleive we are thinking of birthday presents already!!!!
Kell I hope you get over the cold. It is terrible when 1 person gets sick cause then you know its bound to end up thru the entire family.
Melissa thanks for letting me know about BIG W. I will certainly need to take a trip down there for some new wondersuits. I love using them for night time. so much easier than bottom and tops I find. I dont have to disturb Jordan so much when I change him in the night.
Well today I went to costume shop to try on the "poison ivy" costume for a party we are off to in august. It is a green body suit with boot covers belt and wig. It looked great, althought doesnt leave much to the imagination...... I need to wear a push up bra though as it flattened them out in my maternity bra.
Hope you all had a nice day. Speak soon
-
Just a quickie - Its been over a week since I bit my nails
I am rapted.
this nail polish thing is really working. My nails are actually getting the white ends now.
Night all

Hi!
I went shopping and lay-byed a fisher price learning table thing - it was on special for $60 so don't know if thats cheap or not but it looked like fun! There was heaps of other toys but I think I'll wait for the target sales as I'm not sure what I'll buy...was discussing with dh about budgets for b'days and suggested $250 - what is everyone else spending (if you don't mind sharing??) Dh thought this was a lot but it doesn't get much these days....I would love to spend heaps more but of course need to be realistic - especially when you add a party onto it...
Linda - I'm glad you enjoyed today at the gym!
Tracey - Woo ooh! What a fun costume!!! I have never really dressed up for a part before! Sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Yeah on not biting your nails - what a great achievement so far - what is they say - 21 days to make/break a habit....
-
Tracey - good on you for not biting your nails! Well done! Keep it up!
Kristie - I don't know for the 1st birthday - it would be so easy to spend a fortune! ATM we are trying to sell our other house & money is really tight in the meantime, so I think our budget will be more like $100. But it would be heaps more normally. Like you said, it doesn't go very far. That said, we have HEAPS of family around who will probably buy heaps.
-
Hi!
Linda - Yeah, we don't have many people that spoil him. We have only had one person who is my sisters friend who has given us hand me downs!! So basically if we don't buy the stuff no-one does - hehehe.
Grrr my dh work car wouldn't start again this morning so he had to take my car which means another day I don't go to the gym. I hate it when you finally get the motivation to go and then things like this happen. I've put on 1-2 kg in the last few weeks - grrrr!!! It may not sound like much but you know when you just feel it extra on you??
So a quiet day for Louis and I today - which won't hurt! I suppose I better do some work and catch up over the holidays.
I hope everyone is well!! I'm so over winter already!!! Just think of what summer is going to be like with our bubs this year - so much fun! They'll be toddling around getting into mischief. They'll be able to enjoy so much more!
OK enough of my rambling.....
-
Bummer about the car Kristie! I know how you feel - I think winter is so hard for weight. You just feel heavier...
-
Kristie - ikwym about summer, i cant wait! i am going to put them both in swimming lessons (molly missed last year because of her cast :() and its so nice just to be able to go to the park or play outside for longer etc!
For bdays we dont really have a limit, i just buy something i see, but we have so many people buying for the kids that we try not to get too much. Molly already has sooooo many toys and things and i dont want to 'spoil' them iykwim? My nephew is an only child and was an only grandchild and got to the point where he got everything he asked for for bday and xmas and so expected it, i definitely do not want molly and will to get to that point. but then having said that i dont want them to be getting lots of presents of grandparents etc and not much off dh and i - its so hard to find the balance?! and you're right 250 doesnt buy much anymore, we'll probably go with about 100 too for the first bday - Will prefers the paper anyway LOL!
Tracey - the costume sounds great, i have never been to one...
Well this morning i woke up and have lost my voice. it is gradually coming back but it makes it dificult to tell Molly to stop trying to jump on her brother LOL Now that Will has discovered rolling it's all he wants to do. he just rolled around the floor for an hour or more this morning! Hope everyone has a good day, almost the weekend again
-
Oh no Kell. It would be hard with no voice! I hope it comes back fully soon for you.
-
Thanks Linda :) I am about to have a cup of tea and see if that helps...
-
Hi!
Wow - it's quiet in here today! Louis has learnt today how to sit down from standing now!! It's so amazing how one day they can just do something! So he's spent the day standing up and sitting down. He just looks like such a big boy being able to do that. I had him in my room while I was on the computer and the next thing you see his head poking up next to the bed with a big smile. He's nearly saying mama to!! I think he'll have it perfect in the next couple of weeks. I think he's starting to get clingy again as he was following me around this afternoon and getting really grizzly - he crawls to me and then climbs my legs and grizzles... so cute...
Kell - I hope you have your voice back! It must be very hard. yeah for Will rolling around everywhere. it's so good when they can occupy themselves for a while.
I hope everyone else is well and your bubbas are well!!
-
Kell - I hope your voice bounces back soon before Molly jumps on Will too much.
Kristie - They grow up so quickly don't they?
Benjamin and I decided to watch Monster's Inc the other day from our DVD collection. I didn't realise that he had been standing there for a few minutes, on his own. He was standing between my legs watching the movie. He had let go of my knees and had stopped leaning on me. But by the time I realised, it was pretty much over. He follows me around the house too trying to stand up from crawling. He looks a little like a sprinter on the starting blocks ready to take off.
Melissa
-
OMG! Kristie & Melissa - your boys are so clever!! I can't believe how much they are doing!!
Emma shakes her head 'no', but I don't think she knows what it means, she just copies us, it's really cute.
I'm off to bed, hopefully only one feed tonight! :)
-
Well, today is my 27th birthday. (23/06) I've got nothing planned except some time at home with just Benjamin and I for a change.
Melissa
-
Hi!
Well we had a good night - only up once for a dummy at 3am. Although he decided that 6am would be a good wake up this morning! He was a bit grumpy though so obviously needed some more sleep so he's already back down.
Melissa - Happy Birthday!!! I hope you have a great day!!! Wow on Benjamin standing up - thats amazing! You must have got such a shock - hehe.
Linda - I hope you had a good night. Thats great that she shakes her head - Louis just tries to wack us! hehe. If it's when feeding he just hits the spoon away or if it's trying to wipe his nose he hits our hands away. It's quite funny. As long as he only does it now and not when he's 5!!!
Nikki - I hope you're going well!
Cindy - I hope Tori's letting you have a bit of a rest
Hi to everyone else!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Melissa!! Hope you have a great day, I am 27 this year too :D
Wow on Louis and Benjamin, they are definitely keen to get going on their feet arent they?!
Kristie - Sounds like a good night for you :) They are just like little sponges, they learn so many things and so fast - its great to watch!
My voice did come back, sort of a throaty croak anyway, but is gone again this morning.. oh well. weekend tomorrow so dh can look after them while i sleep in! Will is saying mumma, dadda and bub bub, he also knows his own name and is blowing raspberries and makes the noise where he rubs his fingers over his lips while talking iykwim? so my house is very noisy
Have a nice day...
-
Kell - Will sounds gorgeous doing all those things. What a clever little talker! Yeah- I hope dh gives you a nice big sleep in and you get your voice back
-
Happy Birthday Melissa!!! Hope you have a fantastic day!!
Kristie - glad you had a good night. We didnt LOL. Up at 11, 12, 1 & 2. I think she has a bit of a sore throat though, cause I do, so she came in with me & was fine
Kell - hope your throat improves!
-
Linda - sounds like the sore throst is doing the rounds :(
Kristie - yeah since Will doesnt move much (until v recently) he has more energy to devote to making noise LOL Maybe he'll be an academic like his dad, not a sports star LOL
-
Kell - Benjamin is a gas bag, he talks heaps, he's currently saying mum-ma, dad-da, bub-bub, bubba boo, love you, hello and more of an unfavorable and thanks to my step dad "bloody hell" It's not the nicest thing to have come out of an 8 month old. He proudly thought it was nice last week to tell his dad-da "dad-da, bloody hell love you" I had a chuckle but was quick to say, "look out pop-pa!" when I see him, I'm having a few words to him about his choice of words he uses around Benjamin.
Thanks for the birthday wishes girls!
Get well to all with a sore throat
Melissa
-
Wow Melissa! What a clever boy. I can't believe he says all that! That's amazing!
-
PMSL Melissa!!! sorry, i shouldn't laugh! He is so clever!!
Guess what? Emma said 'mum' twice this morning! I couldn't get her to say it again, she just kept shaking her head at me! So I don't know if it was a fluke or not. If she does it more I will say it counts, but I'm not convinced. It was still fun at the time!
-
Linda - might be a fluke, but Molly used to absolutely refuse to do anything we asked of her so Emma may just be stubborn LOL.
Melissa - that is pretty funny, out of the mouths of babes as they say LOL. Molly was eating breakfast the other morning with DH and sai "Daddy i am etting quite sick of you" PMSL..
-
new ticker photo, and i have just realised over 200 posts!
-
LOL Kell - stubborn sounds like a good description! Yay on 200 posts! Keep it up! :D & the photo is cute!!! - love the rosy cheeks!
-
-
Kell - I have to agree, that's a very good picture. Will's done some growing since the last one.
Melissa

Happy birthday Melissa, I hope you have a lovely day and that your DH spoils you today and over the weekend. Birthdays are a great time to ask for massages, sleep-ins and for DH to cook you a yummy breakfast he he! :) Can't believe Benjamin was standing on his own. How exciting! Sounds like you are about to have to do a lot of extra house baby-proofing in the near future! Wow - and he seems young to be speaking all those words. What a clever boy!!! Must catch people by surprise when he is still so young but can do so much!
Kristie, Gus woke at 6am today as well, and also must have decided it was a bit early as he went back down for some more sleep at about 7.30am. DH was up at 5am watching the football and I think let out a "roar" cheer that I think woke Gus. Perhaps your DH did the same? Naughty boys! :) Louis sounds like he's having a big learning spurt at the moment. Thinking of him practising standing up and sitting down puts a big smile on my face. Sounds very cute!
Linda, I'm sorry to hear you're having so much trouble with the gym creche. Tis amazing to think the gym may well lose members b/c of this woman! Doesn't seem like good business sense to me. Hope a solution acceptable to you comes about very soon. Hope your sore throat goes away quickly. Sorry to hear Emma didn't sleep well again last night. :(
Kell, Hope your throat is much better today and that your voice has recovered. Lovely to hear your mum is ok. Must have been quite a scare for you all! Congrats to Will on mastering rolling. Must be very cute watching Will roll all over the floor. This should help him to chase after Molly. he he. Our bubbas really are at a gorgeous age! I LOVE your new ticker picture. Will looks absolutely adorable!
Tracey, Well done on the nail biting front. Must be encouraging to be seeing some new "white" growth. Keeping your nailed covered in polish sounds like a clever strategy! Love the sound of your costume for the party.
Kerrie, Congratulations on your new home. Hope you are settling in nicely. Must be three days that you've been there now so I guess there is still loads to be done. Hope you get some relaxation time in at some stage over the weekend.
Nikki, How are things with you? Has the bleeding stopped? Look after yourself honey.
Hi to everyone else.
Gus has mastered removing his new helmet. It's driving me crazy. He pulls and pushes at it until it comes off. Until today he hasn't known how to undo the velcro strap, so he was pulling it straight up and off. So the narrow part at the base of the back of the helmet was having to push up over the wide part of his head to get it off. The poor little tike's head is covered in purple and red bruises from it all. I was asked yesterday whether I had dropped him - cause his bruising is so bad!!! I look like a very neglectful mummy. But then today he worked out how to undo the velcro. I was driving in the car with him and I heard "rrrriiiipppp" as the velcro came undone and the next thing I know the helmet comes thumping into the front passenger seat. Gus had taken it off and then threw the nasty helmet away. Aghhhh not sure what the next step is. I think it will be an under the chin strap.
Had a lovely day today. I dropped Fergus off to Tresillian's Occasional Care (between 9.30am and 2.15pm) and then went into the city to do some shopping and to meet one of my darling working girlfriends for lunch. Was soo lovely. Had some yummy risotto and a beer down at Circular Quay. he ha! Was lovely to catch up with non-baby stuff. Shopping was not so successful. I've been looking everywhere for a thick jumper. I can't seem to find anything really warm in all my usual chain store spots. Lately I have been seeing ads for a particular shop that seemed to be selling exactly the type of jumpers I was after. From the ads it looked like it might be a little more expensive than I am used to so DH had said I could spoil myself and spend up to $200 on one if I saw something I really really liked. he ha. So I made a trip to the store today to discover it was sooooo out of my league. Their jumpers ranged between $800 and $2300. Can you believe it????!!! I thought I was being extravagant with my budget. he ha! Needless to say I left the store very empty handed. And, now I've had time to reflect I think my original budget of $200 is probably to much to spend at this time in my life given the frequency with which vomit and pureed pear etc ends up on my clothes!
Anyhoo, this has turned into a marathon post so will sign off here. Hope you are all having a lovely Friday.
-
Hi Kirsty!
What a cheeky little boy learning to undo his helmet. Hmmm not to sure how you tackle that one. They're just a bit too clever at the moment!! I bet you he loves the fact that he knows how to take it off now (and with no more bruises....!) How nice it must have been for you to have a break like that!! I'm very jealous!! Wow on the price of jumpers!! I could never spend those kind of dollars - well not unless I was very very wealthy anyway....Maybe you could invest $200 on a nice warm jacket instead??? What store were they at? Sonya hopkins probably - although I think all her stuff is in cashmere....
Anyway, glad you had a nice day out! Have a good weekend!
-
Kirsty - LOL @ Gussy figuring out his helmet, i was laughing as i pictured the helmet flying into the front seat! I can just imagine the cheeky 'you cant stop me mum' look in his eyes too LOL. Yep, it is a good idea to remember children will almost always ruin anything you want to keep really nice. I can wear trackies etc around the house with no probs as soon as i put on something (even relatively) nice Will will vomit or Molly will get texta all over me - it is the law of children :) 800 for a jumper is beyond extravagant! Glad to hear you had a nice lunch anyway, i find tho that i so look forward to 'me' time and then it goes so fast!
Thanks for all the compliments re the new photo - i of course think he is just beautiful :D so cute in fact he is tempting me to have another hehe
