LOL Kathryn
Ally: I always give it before injections, i forgot with Mason on his first ones then went shopping and the pain got him before panadol worked, poor thing screamed and screamed, some just see how they go
Kirsty: I am the same its ok for me to be drunk and stupid when i get home, just not him lol
Melanie: hope that FIL starts improving before they have to take those measures
Nothing much happening here, Cooper is very unsettled, was last night too, but want him to nap just long enough for me to make him a bath, hasnt happened so far! will just lay him on the changetable while i run the bath if he wont sleep soon and get luke to watch him
Otherwise i am dreading having to do overnight feeds! I am so not into get up at god knows what hour, so thought if i bath him before next feed he might sleep soundly till 6am, think i am wishful thinking lol, i am taking steralised water in bottle to bed with the formula in dispenser to i can just tip it in and feed him without getting up, i only give him bottles at room temp so should work out that he doesnt care
-
Thanks all for your best wishes for FIL.
Ally, I gave it to Jack a few hours after as he had a slight temp. I gave it to Tom a few hours later as he was really grizzly and seemed to have some pain. I think all kids are different, but they used to give the panadol first, now they say have some at home in case you need it, but don't give it unless they need it. I would just do what you think is best.
-
WTG Gaby!
TOm is well on track too now. He woke at 12:30 then 4, but didn't feed at 4 then slept until 7am. Jack woke about 7:30 covered in vomit. He has never vomited before (except little spit ups when a baby) so this is new for us! He was fine when he went to bed and seems fine now so I have no idea what happened. Maybe something he ate as we were at a friends house for dinner last night and the kids were picking at lots of different foods. He has been very closely exposed to gastro lots of times and never once got it so I'd be amazed if it's that.
-
Emma: i guess rocking horse from the clues, now i cant wait to find out either lol and i purposely gave Cooper room temp bottles for times like this when i couldnt be stuffed getting up to heat a bottle, first time i have done it though, but mainly done it for when we are out then i dont have to find a place to heat his bottle up etc
Melanie: hope that jack is ok, always a bit of a shock when they never get sick, my kids dont get sick very often so i am suprised when they do get sick
Bill got home at 9.30am this morning, he drank until 7am! so he made the most of his yearly outing i guess, so he is in bed
Had a shocker night here, always the way when you have to do it yourself, so very tired today, now Mason and Cooper wont sleep at all, calling it play up Sunday!
-
Melanie I've had a few friends who live in Moorooka who's toddlers have had this odd virus where they spew & then sleep for hours, wake up & spew and then sleep for hours... it lasted for both of them for 2 days. So maybe its one of those weird virus' thats going around in the area?
-
Emma...wow..9.5 hours is amazing!!!
The Xmas party was great..I didn't say anything to the boss as he hardly spoke to me..maybe he knew I might! I win the worst parent award though..hubby came home sober from his and took the baby..I came home pretty drunk and couldnt! Only had 3 glasses of wine and 1 G and T as well, my tolerance has gone *blush*!
Marion
-
Woo hoo Emma! What wonderful news. Congrats!!
Jack has been fine all day today. Thanks for the info Christy, but he didn't spew again and didn't actually sleep much either. His bed was still being cleaned up so we put him down in our bed for his afternoon nap. He slept for about 45mins and then got up and we couldn't get him back to sleep. Oh well, he went down early tonight.
Tom had a really unsettled day but has gone down now.
-
Marion: Ah well i will get that award many times as a parent, gotta live a little as well i say :) Actually will be getting that bad award for sure this friday night when i go out
Emma: Glad things are working out for you guys :)
Melanie: Glad that Jack is better now
Kate: I am the same with sleeping habits, Mason still doesnt sleep overnight so Cooper is so not following that lead, well thats my hope anyhow lol
Thinking of kids though, Mason was out the back today with Luke and kids next door, he took his nappy off and was flashing his butt at them and then was playing with himself, had to physically remove him from the scene! i think cause the kids were laughing it encouraged him to keep doing it but still a bit shocked!
-
Kate - I have to laugh at Kelsey pinching the dummy from Rylee. We do have 2 dummies floating around the place just for the odd hours when Ashton is really unsettled and nothing will fix him. Every once in a while I have caught lachlan go to put it in his mouth
Not last night but the night before I had a good night with Ashton ..... thankgod. I had actually come down with a touch of gastro which was just a 24 hrs think so I am so glad he only woke up once that night. Last night though I was up at least 3 times to him, so really feeling that today.
Emma - so glad to read that you and stu are back together and woohoo on Gaby sleeps. I hope it lasts for you.
Love
-
Hey girls
Kate-I'm sure the pead won't say that and if he does, slap him!
Kathryn-I had a touch of what I think was gastro last week, luckily the girls didn't get it.
Emma-YAY on you and Stu getting back together!!WOw at Gaby sleeping for so long at night!
Belinda-Your lucky that your DH got home the next day. Corey got home at 1.30am and when I got up he was sitting at the computer. He said hello then staggered to the toilet where he vomitted for 30mins!LOL! He was soooo hungover in the morning. He was afraid to go to sleep that night because of me. I had to promise that I wouldn't shave his eyebrows off.pmsl.
Marion- I know how you feel about not being able to hold your liquor anymore. I had 2 glasses of wine the other night and was slurring my words a bit! At least I was relaxed!LMAO!
Melanie-I remember when Gem did a vomit in her cot one night and then tried to go back to sleep in it!Ewwwwww
Well I went to be early last night at 9.30pm and was up every 3 hours...grrrr. But Jasmine was easy to settle and I think it was because we had such a huge temp drop here because of all the storms. Luckily the huige winds missed us here.
-
Just a little update on Charlie. Got him weighed the other day. He is now 5.03kg(11lb 1oz) and is 60cms long, head is 38.5cms. He is such a long skinny little thing! His arms and legs are so lanky. He's gonna be a tall one. He's still spewing heaps but it doesn't seem to bother him much anymore. He's not lactose intolerent. Just a cranky and spewing baby, apparently. I don't see how spewing that much can be normal, but anyway.
Haven't had anymore panic attacks. But still been a bit anxious. Got badly sunburnt yesterday, i am so sore.
Been busy just finishing up the christmas shopping. So hectic at the shopping centres here, it's madness.
Might not been on much until after new year's. Kids are a handful at the moment and then on 27th Dec we're going to Goulburn for a week. Hopfully there's at least some water to shower with!
I hope everyone is well.
-
Tom had another good night. Jack is definitely fine so I'm not sure what happened.
Congrats again Emma. What a great week it's been for you!
Kirsty, I hope you have a better night tonight. I thought maybe Jack had slept in vomit but MIL said she'd checked on him not long before he woke up and there was no vomit.
Kate, so sorry to hear you had an awful night again. I so hope you get some helpful info on Thursday. Wouldn't a good night's sleep be the best Christmas present!
Tegan, great to hear from you. Glad you have been ok. Have a great Christmas.
Kathryn, hope Ashton settles for you soon. At least every second night is a good start.
Belinda, Kids can be so funny can't they. MIL was washing Jack and said "now we have to wash behind your ears" and Jack replied "and my bits"!! And he also points to my bbs when we are out and says "booby" or "breast" and "milk for Thomas in there".
Good news re FIL, looks like the leg is safe but they going to open it up tonight for a better look.
-
Kirsty: LOL at your having to promise him no harm! :)
Emma: yah at being able to take your pills
Melanie: Glad all seems ok with FIL
Kate: i really hope that something is worked out with her soon and they can come up with something that helps
Kathryn: Sorry you had a crappy night, hope tonight is better for you
Tegan: Thanks for the update and hope you have a nice trip away and a great new years :)
Had a cling on with me all day today, he was happy as sitting with, lasted 5 mins at a time put down, so Bill has him now and i am not taking him back for awhile lol my arms need a break
Got forced by the kids today to meet the next door nieghbour lol, the kids think because they are friends that we should be too, but we moved in 2 mths ago and i havent talked to her, so i said sorry i havent met you properly i was pregnant and not in the mood for ppl then busy lol, ah well she knew what i meant, she is a lovely lady but will just keep it to over the fence chit chat, dont like being friends with nieghbours, you cant hide from them if it doesnt work out lol, they know you are home!
-
Hi girls
katelyn had her needles today she cried for a little bit but was ok. She was a little unsettled when i got home so I gave her some panadol and she drifted off to sleep. Clinic nurse told me today that my son had not had his chickenpox needle so he needs to be done now but I think I will wait until after the new year and get my husband to come with me. don't fancy doing him by myself.
-
Hi :D
Jacob has his shots this Thursday..... what should I expect??
I am a little bit nervous about his reaction at the moment... What ever will be will be but i thought if I can get a little bit of insight and be somewhat prepared!
He is Sleeping from about 8ish - 10ish till 3ish - 5ish... (touch wood and wistle!!) we are breastfeeding good which I am really releived about as that was one of my worries while pregnant.... except he just wants to look around and pull my nipple in all directions!! I will be persistant but
Hope you all have a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS!!
I look forward to some possible insight about the first lot of vaccinations :D
xxoo
-
Oh BTW... what age is ok to give them panadol???
THANKS :D
xxoo
-
You can give them it from 2 months.
Kirsten screamed while she got the injections but then fell asleep shortly afterwards and was fine, she didn't show any other effects!
Marion
-
Hi Kitty. Welcome! You can give panadol from 1 month. The amounts are on the label. All bubs are different with injections. Nearly all of them cry when they go in, but most stop very quickly. Some will have crankiness, pain or slight fever for a few days after. One of mine had a slight fever that night and the next day, the other one didn't but he was cranky and seemed to be in pain. Jack had a couple of doses of panadol over the 24 hour period afterwards, Tom only had one dose. Now they don't recommend panadol for slight fevers unless the bub is unhappy as well.
Ally, don't blame you for wanting DH to help. The older they get the worse it is! Glad Katelyn recovered quickly.
Belinda, lol at keeping your distance from the neighbours! Hope Cooper settles soon for you. I love my sling on days that like - it saves my arms and lets me get things done.
Tom had a very unsettled afternoon, full on crying in pain until he finally had a last feed and settled about 7pm. Must be having MIL here, he was much better when she wasn't here LOL!! And Jack seems to have started the two year old tanties. So far they stop very easily but I'm worried they'll get worse!
-
Melanie: LOL at MIL being the cause :)
Well i had a couple of drinks earlier and they hit me when i got to woolies so was merrily walking around the aisles lol
I think Cooper is getting sick, have give him panadol as he felt so hot but he still doesnt seem right, hope he is just over tired
Cant use a sling as they are no good for my back, i have bought a carrier with every one of them and taken them back everytime lol
-
Kirsten has been so unsettled today..they must all be having off days at the same time!
We were at family Xmas get together yesterday and she slept all day...everyone said how good she was! Then she has been the opposite today, crying a lot and fussy. She didn't sleep as long as usual last night so she is probably just tired I think! So is Mummy!!
:)
Marion
-
Wow Em 5 hourly is still not bad!
I was up 3 hourly again last night and the 5am feed she only had 30mls before falling asleep smiling at me. It was freezing here again last night, but I bet today is hot again. The weather is seriously doing weird things!
Can't believe xmas is so close. Corey and I have decided to start some traditions in our own little family as this is the first year at our own house for chrissie. Xmas brekkie and on xmas eve I'll cook up a storm of sweet things. This year its choccie crackle, rum balls (for me of course!LOL!) and white choccie truffles. Hmmm think I'm going to be forced to join the gym in january after all this eating!PMSL!
-
Emma, 5 hours is still good! It's a shock after 2 such great nights though isn't it!
Kirsty, I hope you get some more sleep soon.
Belinda, I hope Luke is ok. What a bad run you've had!
Kitty, it must be different in different countries. Here you can give panadol from 1 month although I wouldn't unless necessary. Tom was 3.5 weeks early and saw a doctor a couple of days before he turned 1 month. The doc said it was fine to give him panadol already.
Kate, Tom's Christening is on Jan 7 (which is also FIL's birthday). I hope Rylee's Godfather is ok. I am sure I'm biased, but I think Jack has the most lovely nature. I can't believe Tom will be ready for swimming lessons already either, where does the time go??
Tom had a great night again, 12:30 and 4am wake ups, and then awake at 6. Hopefully he will have a better day today. I am wondering if he's had a bit of a tummy bug (maybe related to Jack's vomitting?) as he has had a few signs of it. If that's what it is at least he will be better soon.
FIL is having surgery this morning. If it goes well he should have a good chance of keeping his leg for quite a while which would be a relief for us all. Uh oh, Tom's awake again. BBL.
-
Melanie I hope your FIL's surgery goes well. It would be so awful if he had to lose his leg.
-
Gosh, where is everyone today?
FIL's surgery went well. Looks like his leg will stay. He might not be home for Christmas though. How awful to be in hossy for Xmas!
I'm taking MIL to see a possible place for them tomorrow. I hope I didn't seem too keen to take her....;)
-
LOL at seeming too keen and glad FIL will keep leg even though he wont be home for xmas
Had a full on day today, with Mr unsettled and Mr i need attention now, so havent had time to do much at all, and Mr unsettled is whinging here now trying to get out more wind
-
Belinda, hope you have a better day today. It's hard when you have two grizzly tikes isn't it!
Emma, I know what you mean about the last minute, although luckily I've finished my shopping now. This year DH and I decided not to buy each other presents, instead to buy something together for the family. We have spent so much money on the kids (Jack's swing and slide set especially) that it made sense. So our joint present to each other is some outdoor lounges for around the pool. DH has 6 weeks leave so we should get a lot of use out of them.
Tom woke at midnight, 3 and 6, but it took an hour to get him back down at 3. He was really windy and got the hiccups. Jack is throwing a tanty now as I took his crayons away - I'll have to go and deal with that then clean the wall LOL!
-
PMSL Melanie at taking away Jack's crayons and then cleaning the wall! I have the same prob wth Gem. Loves to draw......on anything!
Wow Em Gaby had another good night.
We had a goodnight.Up at 3am then again 6am. So a great night. Jaz had her needles to and she cried so much and sobbed! I felt so bad! Off to my sisters soon as its my brothers 24th birthday today............to be 24 again!
-
Melanie - We are facing the prospect of my mum being in hospital for christmas day too. She was meant to have been coming home today, but she had a fall yesterday trying to manage her walker while hopping as her foot cant touch the ground for 6 wks. anyway she ended up hurting her knee on her good leg and doctor can feel some grinding in it, so now today she is having knee xrays done. I said it would have been so much easier IMO if they had given her crutches instead of a big bulky walker, considering she has to hop.
Lachlan is forever drawing on our walls. I need shares in chux magic erasers although this weekend they will get sugar soaped. My once a year big wall clean for xmas lol. They actually need repainting, but not even going to look into that till Ashton is around 5 and out of drawing on wall stage too, that will be 15 years then with the same paint job.
Emma - Andrew is getting a weather proof case for our video camera from me, and 6 video camera filters from the kids for Christmas. He is also meant to be getting a 1.8m ladder but I am not sure if my step-dad has even thought about going to buy it for me like he said he would with all the dramas with mum this week. I may ring him later to see. I have some last min christmas shopping to do as well *sigh*
Ashton went 5 hrs and then 3 hrs and then 2hrs last night, that seems to be his routine. approx 2am, 5am and 7am. Might try the bath, feed then bed tonight to see if he stretches his 5 hr snooze longer. I usually give him a bath whenever I get a spare 5 mins in the day. LOL
Love
-
I give Mason a cloth and make him clean up the walls he draws on lol, he thinks its great though!
Having a better day today, took kids for a walk to shops earlier, the next door nieghbour boy invited himself, then joined luke in nagging me to buy them lollies lol, they arent shy!
Mum is here tommorow, YAH :)
Kathryn: Your poor Mum, hope she recovers ok and can be home for Xmas but if not i guess its the best place to be if she needs to be there
-
Kathryn, sorry to hear about your mum. I was thinking as I was reading it wouldn't crutches have been better. I hope she is able to come home for Xmas. We are still not sure about FIL - there is a small chance he will be allowed home on Sunday. Got to love those magic erasers. The crayon came off the walls all right but I still can't find anything to get crayon off the toilet lid LOL!!
Kirsty, LOL about Gemma drawing on everything. Got to love this age!! When I tell Jack off for drawing on things he points to the paper and says "only on paper". Pity he doesn't write "only on paper"!!
Emma, hope you get some rest soon. I can't think of anything helpful for you to get Stu. I hope you think of something.
Well, I have great news. MIL and FIL have a place to live! They got the place I took MIL to see this morning. They get the keys tomorrow but won't be able to move in until Jan 3 as their furniture has to arrive. Dad arrives on the 4th I think for the Christening and is staying with us so it will work out well - we were going to be very crowded!
Jack was a radio star this morning! BIL is filling in on one of the local brekky shows this week and yesterday he recorded him and Jack singing Hey Diddle Diddle together (BIL left words out and Jack filled them in). I didn't know he'd done it until we were listening to him when I took MIL to see the unit and we heard it on the radio. Jack sounds so cute but then I'm a little biased!!
-
Hi Belinda. We cross-posted! Jack loves cleaning up so would probably like wiping the walls himself. I'd be worried he'd write on the walls just to clean them. I wonder if our boys will still be so keen to clean when they are teenagers! Yay for your Mum arriving. YOu can sit and relax LOL!!
-
YAH to IL's finding a place so quickly, sure you didnt have anything to do with it lol, did you pay someone to approve it all fast hehe
How cute about Jack being on the radio :) very nice
ETA: Melanie: yep i plan on resting a lot lol, and i can garantee that once they are teenagers they wont do a thing, have my nephew here to prove that one :)
-
argh. My heart just leapt into my mouth. Was on the phone (reminder to self to buy cordless) and Ashton was on his play mat in lounge room. Every so often I would say to person on phone hang on a sec as Lachlan was usually up to something and gave me a chance to quickly check on Ashton. After last check i hung up not 2 mins later walked back into lounge room and Lachlan had Ashton rolled up in his play mat and laying over the top of it. Talk about freak out. Lachlan was smacked and sent straight to his room. Ashton was fine, probably wondering what all the commotion was about and is now asleep in his rocker.
I swear Lachlan is going to be the death of me one of these days, bloody kid !!
love
-
melanie try cooking oil for the crayon on the toilet lid.
Love
-
Far out! Very scary, glad that it all turned out ok anyhow
Mason cant be left alone with Cooper at all anymore! feel like i am his bodyguard most of the time, he just always does something to him
-
Thanks for the tip Kathryn, I'll give it a go. OH no at Lachlan! The bubs are so resilient though aren't they!
Belinda, LOL, no I didn't pay them (wish I'd thought of that ;) ) but I was really nice to the agent! She has a daughter 1 day younger than Jack so I think she liked me!!
-
Kate, my fingers and toes are crossed for you!! I really, really hope the paed is able to help. Hang in there! Let us know how you go. Hugs and GL!
-
Kate - Goodluck for today matey !! Will be thinking of you.
Melanie - how did you go with that crayon on the toilet seat ??
Ashton had a good night last night only did his 2am wake up and that was it again till 7am this morning. Pity both Kameron & Lachlan decided to get up last night too. I think Kamerons is starting to become habit. He is getting up to ask for a glass of water every night. Going to start giving him one to goto bed with now.
Mum wise - still not sure what is going on there, she had xray's on the knee she hurt when she had a fall the other day, but she doesn't find out the results of those till today. I am sure I will get a phone call later today at some stage. Can't go in tonight as it is shopping night and will be fighting the xmas crowds
Love
-
Well i can offically say Charlie is sleeping through the night! Hasn't woken up during the night for about 2 weeks now.
Can't believe Christmas is only 4 days away. I'm getting excited about going away. It's something i really need. We're also going to Canberra for a day to see an Egyptian exhibition at the museum.
Kathryn, Lachlan sounds a bit like Lily. I keep finding her putting blankets over Charlie's head. She also does it too her dolls aswell, so not sure how i can stop it.
Kate, Goodluck for today. You poor thing. I hope you both get some good sleep soon.
-
Woohoo @ Charlie sleepign through that is great Tegan.
Well I just got news that Mum is coming home today, she unfortunately has gastro bad though so she is waiting for the hospital pharmacy to deliver her some tablets to try and stop it. With not being able to walk and wheel chair bound when she gets home, it will be a struggle for her to make the toilet, so she is worried about how my stepdad will cope with cleaning up after her if she is still going.
Love
