DH wraps (not as good as me LOL), changes nappies, settles him, bathes him. He does everything except BF. Sometimes I think he is better than me at these things.

L listens to lullabies made from Nirvana, Metallica, No Doubt, and Cold Play songs. We've set up my iPod in the nursery so sometimes just play whatever comes up. Ministry of Sound, Top 40, Jazz, whatever....

Don't know what is up with L today. He has only slept in short blocks and this afternoon no more than about 20 minutes at once. He screams and then falls asleep and then will wake up not too long after. I know he is overtired but how do you get him to stay asleep? About to give him a bath and a feed and that usually sends him off for hours. Hopefully tomorrow will be better......

Nic - My DH does the same. Caitlyn wakes up about 30 mins after he has wrapped her cause she has unwrapped herself. However I found a solution! I bought this thing called a snuggle wrap - suffice to say there is some velcro involved! Its like a t-shaped thing that wraps around her and her little feet go in this pouch. Velcro holds it all together and to do a nappy change you can just drop the pouch thing down and re-seal it after. I got too tired of havig to get up to rewrap her.
Saffi - I know every bub is differnt but when Caitlyn is over tired the only way I can get her to sleep for more than half an hour is to sleep with her. (Such a shame!!) Or to pop a movie on and let her sleep in my arms for an hour and then transfer her to her cot. And sometimes I even just keep holding her till she wakes up.
I have to say that I havent played any music to Caitlyn. Oh yes I have and unfortunately it was Brooks and Dunn and she didnt mind it! WE dont have a stereo in the house and besides most of my music is on my computer anyway. MIght spend the weekend burnin to CD so I can play some on the DVD player.

I dont wrap Max, i use a grobag..... love it. He likes to sleep with his arms up above his head, so would always bust out of wrapping. Must say though, DH was better at wrapping than me....I had to get more than one lesson from him!! I save my wrapping skills for Xmas presents!!

    Hey all

Well once again Chels has been a little angel today! All she does is sleep! Lol

My poor little boy though. I think he is coming down with something. He was so hot and so sleep this afternoon which is just not like hip. He seemed really lethargic. I will see how he is in the morning though. God I hate it when my babies are sick!

1 more day til Doom Day!!!! (Needles....LOL)

Sorry, no personals tonight. Im a bit too tired. Speak to you all tomorrow!

I don't wrap either - like Max, Harry sleeps with his hands above his head.

MissKate -my sis successfully bf and gave a bottle of formula for the dream feed every night. Everyone is different though. I doubt your milk will dry up but you might find a decrease in supply the next day and baby will have to feed more to increase supply again.

Harry had his immunisations yesterday. I had all of them done. He seems OK today, a little warm and a bit grizzly but otherwise fine.

Nic - I got your Christmas postcard. Such cute kids you've got there! Thanks for the other pictures too xx

Harry was weighed and measured: he's 6.09kg, 61cms and head circ 40cm. Such a little bruiser. He's just going into 00's now.

Mo- i was walking in Frankston yesterday i saw the big christmas tree, reminded me that you asked AGES ago about Frankston lights, sorry i ignored ya! I'm not sure which lights you are talking about though so i'm actually no help at all!

Amber and Leah- I have an ergo too. Hanging out to use it. Amber how do you get Myles' legs to go wide enough? Short of snapping Lu's legs i still can't fit her in!

Had a Falguni day two days ago. Tried to sell her.............must have been asking too much. Lucky though she is right back on track... decided to keep her.

Off walking up a BIG hill....

Ange I dont know how I did it? I am wondering if maybe I shouldnt use it again yet? His legs are fine though so I dont know? Gee what sort of a mum am I?lol! He does have long legs so I dont know!Arghh!

Saffi can you tell me the name of that lullaby cd? Its sounds great, not so much for Myles but for me! hehe!

Myles is getting drowned out by Kylies new cd and Spice girls greatest hits at the moment,I know sad hey!
but he loves anything like his mum! Oh He does cry when Delta comes on ha!

We havent wrapped him since the hospital cause he likes to sleep with his arms above his head or out to the side like a plane!

Has everyone finished their christmas shopping? I finally have yay!!!! Cant wait for christmas morning!

Better go have some brekky! xo

    Got to have a laugh...........................................

Decided I would walk to the shops this morning rather than the whole in/out of car thing. So Maddi sleeps at first then is awake smiling and cooing well....then coming home she starts screaming like she's in pain so now I'm pushing the pram and trying to comfort screaming child...it seems Maddi doesn't like the sound of passing traffic esp trucks!!!! Finally make it to side street for quieter walk home and a truck street sweeper decides to join us....argh...how fast can I walk now???? Drama over we are now safe and sound at home......not doing that again anytime soon!

Yes I've completed my Xmas shopping now just have to do the wrapping.

Claire - glad to hear Harry is doing OK after his needles...sorry didn't make Monday meet-up, had James Xmas concert at school. When is the next one....after Xmas/New Year???

Nix - sorry to hear poor Nix has tonsillitis - hope the ABs are kicking in and making him better.

Saffi - curious abt lullabies as well, how did you get them?

It is lovely to see all those Xmas babies on the tickers...each and everyone is adorable!!!!

I don't wrap Maddi either cos she likes to sleep with her hands above her as well and the last two nights she has started rolling from her back to her left side and sleeps in that position.....just like her Mummy! On the music side of things we are listening to Human Nature and David Campbell...thinking abt setting up an ipod and speakers like someone mentioned...great idea!!!

DH wraps Tahlia well, he also does pretty much everything else, except bf obviously... I am lucky!
We have to wrap Tahlia otherwise she throws her arms around and wakes herself up
Mo - the 5/6 Jan would be better for me, lunch might be nice

We had a better night last night, it still took ages to settle her (ended up going for a drive with her), but once she settled at 11.30, she didn't wake until 6 which was pretty nice! Hopefully we are back on track for the sleeping through pattern!

Rebecca- where did u find the snuggle wrap? and how much are they? I bet if i told dh about this he would jump at the offer lol! he already told me i should invent something like that for ppl like him!
Trish- gosh how do u do it ALL yourself? I make dh chae nappies, feed Tyron put him tobed etc obviously i do it majority of the timebut when he is home is think he can chip in and i am with Nixon well he has no choice!

well dunno that the AB are helping Nix much. his tonsils/glads are real swollen and u can see it in his neck how swollen they are. he wakes up very un happy and takes a lot to console him after he works himself up.
Ursula- isnt that the worse when u ae out and cant dmuch about it, glad you got home sae and sound!
i love all the xmas tickers too, soooo cute!

Kate- i dont think your milk would dry up from one feed a day but that feed that you miss your supply would obviously drop off, you'd still have plenty for every other feed but yoour body would respind to dropping a feed.
saffi- hope you had a settled night and the bath etc did the trick.

so did everyone receive thei SS gift? havent had an email from anyone saying they dont have it so i assume aus post did their job! ursula did you get your's? cant remember if u already told me or not.

    Hey all,

So tired today! Kieran woke up all smiley and happy at 1:30am. I just re-wrapped him, put his dummy back in and went back to bed, luckily he didn't wake again until later. I like his smiles, but not at that time of the morning!

Melb girls - Sat the 4th of Jan would suit me, but I am happy to go with the majority. Will other's bring their DH's? I hope you don't mind if mine comes!

Ursula - What a stressful pram trip! My DS1 used to HATE being in his pram and would scream non-stop. My neighbours always wondered why I was pushing a pram, but holding my baby!

Boomba - Well done on getting your Chrissy shopping all done! The only person left on my list is DH!

    Have a great day mummies!
  15. Babies Born October 2007 #11

    :

Nic - It's just easier to do it myself rather than nag! I do all the cooking, washing, ironing and housework too. To DH's credit he does bath Joel and put him to bed if he gets home from work on time. When he gets home late I find it pretty tiring to look after both boys, cook and clean up all by myself. DH works long hours sometimes so I feel a bit bad asking him to do stuff when he gets home.

I hope Nixon gets better soon, the poor little man sounds a bit miserable
  16. Babies Born October 2007 #11

    :

Nickers - I have PM'd you a couple of sites to look at - I do most, if not all, of my shopping online for Caitlyn. The wraps like the one I bought are around $30 - worth EVERY cent I think - but you can buy different ones for cheaper. Just gotta get DH to do the velcro thing right - if you miss one bit - then baby will break out!
  17. Babies Born October 2007 #11

    :

Trish - did you mean the 5th of Jan (cause thats a Saturday) - then sounds good to me too... I think my DH will probably come too
  18. Babies Born October 2007 #11

    :

5th of Jan is fine by me, Phil will be coming.
    Should we make it 11:30/12ish.
Did we decide on the botanic gardens?
