Saffi - Spoke too soon!! Lucky I rang!! I rang to make sure it was still ok and get told that no...they have to leave early to go back to Mt Isa so I can't take her! I am so unbelieveably angry. Then I come home and the rude cow didnt even have the decency to ring and leave a message to tell me! Imagine if I had just turned up with Caitlyn and oh sorry they have gone home!! I just can't believe how crap the service out here is!! I jsut want her weighed!!! Am sooo very pi$$ed off right now! Going to go get Caitlyn early so that she can cheer me up a little!

misskate - james had diarrhea for 7-10 on and off after the rotavirus vax. upset me more than it did him. because it's the only live vax it's quite likely to cause the runs. if it goes on longer than that take him back. when i phoned the nurse about it she was most unsympathetic (cow). i'm tempted not to get the rotavirus boosters because they reckon the reaction is greater on later needles. bah. wretched thing. (it was stinky diarrhea too!)
kimbaz - now that you say crusty, i wonder if jas has psoriasis.... does anyone in either of your families have it? i know it's quite uncommon in the young ones but it could be that. (don't you hate forum would-be doctors taking guesses at your kid's skin condition?).
snip - It is characterized by raised, inflamed, red lesions covered by a silvery white scale. It is typically found on the elbows, knees, scalp and lower back.
just a thought. (my brother had it in his teens)

sanks viv:) lol
they seem to have settled alot more now, still an odd colour but not at every feed, its getting back to once a day so i think he is ok:)

I hope I'm posting this in the right place. Isabella was born 28th October 07. Today she had her immunisation and did so well, much better than me, was so proud of her. I gave her some baby panadol when we got home, but I don't think she really needed it. She slept for about an hour, I thought it would have knocked her out, then stayed awake for another hour giving me plenty of smiles. Just wanted to share this with other October baby mums.
-
Welcome Dianne! Little Isabella looks just gorgeous! Glad her immunisations went well, it's not fun is it?
Rebecca - Bummer about the MCHN! How frustrating! Maybe it's time to get your own set of scales?
Saffi - Glad the LC appointment went well. Good luck with the demand feeding!! I think you can take Fenugreek (sp?) to increase your supply.
Kellie - What a great idea getting the hand and foot moulds done! It will be so cute to look back on in a years time.
Nic - I meant to comment the other day that your DH's job sounds like a lot of fun! How are you coping without him?
Julia - I hope Max is just going thru a growth spurt and will sleep through again for you soon!
Hooray, my headache seems to be gone! Kieran is back to usual, but still with a bit of excess earwax. Joel slept for 3 hours this arvo which is really unusual so I'm guessing he has some kind of bug. Anyway, better go cook dinner!
-
Glad your feeling a bit better Trish!
And welcome Dianne!!
-
Good to see you in here Dianne!! Glad you came to join us :)
I never made it to the dr today....friend needed some help so was there.
Craig had bad skin as a kid...so im thinking she has inherited it. Ill go to the dr tmrw (fingers crossed i can make it).
Happy Birthday Liam :D

Welcome Dianne!
(nothing much else to say here!)

I've been running around all day today getting the last few things needed for our flight to the UK tomorrow.
Harry seems to have picked up the snuffles from me, and I caught them from Emily and now the DH has come down with it today. It's pretty mild though so I'm hoping for a good flight over. He went to 2 hourly feeding overnight last night so I'm hoping that the antibodies in my milk have done their stuff for tonight. I've not heard a peep yet so my fingers are crossed.
I'm in the middle of packing and I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet! Bought Emily a load of new things to distribute to her during the flight so I'm hoping that will pacify her. I also bought some Phergeran in case she gets really over stimulated and unable to sleep. I won't be using it to keep her sedated though!! Just to help her relax and drift off to sleep when it's night sleep time. it's quite handy to have in our case because she is allergic to dairy.
Dianne - Welcome!
Kim - Because of Emily's allergy she suffers skin complaints too. Mostly small patches of ezcema in the normal places but also overall much drier skin. We use QV and it does the trick. I have similar issues and when I get flair ups I use Dermaid which you can buy from the chemists. Doesn't always have to be related internally as in our case - maybe Jas is sensitive to something in her environment, maybe your washing powder?
Trish - glad you are feeling better! I've had splitting headaches too these past few days.
Well we are off tomorrow for 32 days to a very very cold England! I'm hoping to see snow! Can't wait to see my sisters and all my nieces and nephews! I'm planning on having a blast. Hope all goes well with you all whilst I'm away!
Nic, Ursula, Kate - catch you all when I'm back! Take care xx
-
Trish - Way ahead of you there! Once I finished ranting in that post I ordered a set online. They are on their way today!
Caitlyn is having better and better sleeps! Slept until 245 this morning after going to bed at 7. On Saturday night I am going to put her down at 7 as per usual and wake her at 10 for a feed - see if she goes until 5 or 6 which would be fantastic!
Anyway - am off to get ready for work - have a great day all! MWAH

Afternoon everyone!
It's so quiet in here today! Kieran did another 9 hour sleep last night which was great, but he is having shocking day sleeps today instead. I think he got overtired before his first nap and that has just stuffed up the rest of his sleeps. We were finally having success with his last nap until Joel went to bed and decided to chant at the top of his lungs and that woke Kieran up :wall: He wouldn't settle and I had a customer coming at 2pm, so at 1:40pm I got him up, was about to feed him when a neighbour rocked up, arrrgh!!! Finally sat down at 1:55pm to feed him when the customer showed up! I now have a headache from stress LOL! Hopefully we'll be back on track soon. He is now happily playing under his play gym, not a care in the world! Ahh...to be a baby...
Claire - Enjoy your trip O/S! I hope you have a great time catching up with your family and I hope your littlies travel well for you.
Rebecca - Glad you ordered the scales! Who needs a MCHN anyway?!
Hi to everyone, I hope you and your bubs are all doing well!
Trish
-
OMG OMG!! I just got Liam down to sleep in his cot!! YIPPEEE! He went down first go, lay there chatting to himself for a bit and now he's asleep! Could this be the start of him sleeping there during the day tooo??? I hope so although I dont want to et my hopes up!!
We are off to the Gold Coast tonight to catch up with Dh sister and her family. They live in Townsville but are sown here fo the week. Should be good.
Gee it is quiet in here today.
Rebecca - How much did your scales cost. Gee thats a good idea....
Trish - Hope your headache goes!
Claire - Good luck today! Have a great time!
-
Trish - The main reason I wanted to see the MCHN was to get her length checked and to talk about her poos. Have given up on that and am going to see the Dr on Monday instead. At least I know the Dr is reliable and the daycare are going to save me a sample (yay) for me to take to him to see. But the nurse there will check her weight and length and all that anyway before we see my Dr.
Becky - Scales were only $80 plus postage. Just hope they are accurate. There were a few others that were more expensive. Not a bad idea - given the remoteness of where I live I should have thought about it ages ago and just pulled my finger out and bought a set!
Well these 5 hours at work are killing me. I have had nothing to do since 12 o'clock. Am trying to stay away from ebay - husband saw the credit card account yesterday and there were LOTS of paypal purchases!!!
Does anyone else still wrap their baby? I noticed at daycare that they dont wrap Caitlyn for her sleeps. But she still sleeps! When I went in yesterday to pick her up she was asleep and there were kids everywhere screaming and yelling and banging and she was dead to the world!!! Of course when we get her home all it takes is the stove being switched on before we cook dinner to wake her up!!! Ha ha ha
Not a lot else happening. Cloncurry is still boring! I can't wait for April when I get to go back to Townsville to see my family and friends. And maybe do some real shopping!!!
-
Becky - Yay for Liam!!! Once you get one good day out of them they usually keep it up.
Rebecca - I'm glad you can see someone else about Caitlyn, it must be so frustrating not having many resources out where you are. Yuck about taking a sample!!
ETA - Happy 3 months Caitlyn!!!
-
Thanks trish - Thats the plan anyway, I hope he DOES keep it up!
Rebecca - Wow $80 isnt too bad. Might look into it. And yes, I still wrap Chelsea. She wont sleep any other way. Well, actually she will, but if I dont wrap her, she tends to only sleep for half an hour or so then wakes up. If I wrap her, she can sleep for hours. Thats also how she sleeps so long at night. Wrap her really tight and I dont hear from her for 10 hours! LOL. Liam was like that too, only slept well if he was wrapped. I dont mind, I just worry aboiut her getting too hot. I usually just take all her clothes off thouhg, wrap her and leave her fan on. She's fine!
-
DOes anyone here have an angelcare sound and movement monitor? Seeing as Max has decided sleeping on his tummy is nicer, I've been looking into it....anyone?
-
Julia - I just sold one off my website a week ago! I haven't used one myself, but I love the look of them. What do you want to know about them?
-
thats the same with Tyron, he will sleep without being wrapped but generally wakes up in between if he is not wrapped.
Ive had a very busy few days had a team meeting last night and did a tupperware party today, and have to go to a managers meeting tonight. my mum successfully minded 4 children aged 3yrs to 3months thismorning! she said it wasn't too bad.... i will be minding 4 of them next week so my sister and dh can go to dinner and movies. i have lots of IOU with babysitting over the next few weeks everyone is helping me out when i do parties/meetings etc. DH only went away yesterday so this is just the begining of the next few weeks!
Happy 3 months Caitlyn!
Safe travels Claire!
