Kellie - cute pic of Tahlia. Good news about the fenugreek. About to go out so will definitely pick some up. Great that she is taking bottles from DH so can share the load with you.
Nickers - your boys do look so much alike. I showed DH and he didn't realise they were different children. Ty has a rounder face, but maybe thats just an age thing.
KateP - way to go Hayley! It is so great when they are cooperative and will actually go back to sleep when you want them too.
Ruby - welcome. Your little girl is gorgeous. Wow, teething already!! Look forward to getting to know you both more.
Julia - hope Max is being a good boy for you today.
Viv - hope it is just a phase and James will be back to his usual self.
Hi to everyone else.
L hasn't found his feet yet, tho he does a lot of kicking. He loves it when I nibble at his toes (no, I don't have a foot fetish). He is not laughing yet, but he does this funny little squeal which sounds like a cross between a laugh and a hiccup.
When DH came home last night L was in the process of rolling over. Didn't make it all the way, but he was getting very close.
I think L is almost at the point of sleeping through. Last night his last feed was at 10pm (BM and bottle) and down around 11pm. First I heard from him was 4.45! Yesterday it was 5am, so looks like a pattern is forming. Don't they class sleeping thru as >5hrs?
Supply is still low :(
Back later
-
Saffi We will see later...he's OK daytimes...it's going to bed at night when he turns into HORROR child!
-
Alas i think the night before last was a one off - last night she didn't sleep thru, fed at 11 and 2 am but then got to sleep until 8 so that was nice, especially on a rainy Sat morning was nice to have a lie in :)
Hello and welcome Ruby!
-
kim - are you still using Mamia nappies? still happy with them?
i'm a bit sick of huggies. i had to return some and complained because they had all hard bits in them. i'm a bit sick of them not living up to their reputation (and price). i hear mamias are great and was curious if anyone else is using them.
-
ninja - are they the ones from aldi? I tried them, but wasn't really happy.... I didn't think they were as absorbent as the huggies and tahlia always seemed to smell, even if I had just changed her
-
Viv - I used them overnight with Kieran and find them great with no leaks. I haven't used them during the day before though.
-
Saffi - My work? I am an insurance/administration officer and I work with Landmark. With all the rain, and it not being cattle "season" just yet we dont have much to do. No one in the office does. The work will come but while we are waiting we play cards. And yes, while I am there doing nothing I think about all the things I could be at home doing.
Ruby - Welcome! Your litle one is teething already?! WOW! I hope I have to wait a while for that.
Caitlyn is doing well....they say there is a complete change of character at 12-13 weeks and they were right! She is sleeping from about 6.30-7pm until 2.30-3am! Am tempted to wake her at 10 to see how she goes but DH doesnt want me risking it! He goes away in a week and a bit so will try it while he is gone!
I have to admit that the only time that I used something other than huggies on Caitlyn was when I was staying at my parents house and they bought a HUGE box of snugglers. They were terrible! We used them but was changing Caitlyn so often that we decided that when we got home we would use Huggies.
Daycare has been fantastic about getting Caitlyn into a routine...and I have been able to follow it today. She will be waking up from her nap shortly and then we will play, have a bath, a feed and then to bed so mum and dad can have dinner. Then mum can go to bed cause she is coming down with a cold and AF is on her way :( Great combination!
Have a great night all!
-
Viv - as you know I use cloth nappies but sometimes at night I use a sposie. I am using Babylove at the moment and after the 3am feed we both fell back to sleep woops!! Well this morning it was the fullest nappy EVER and a huge morning poop and no leaks! For the money they have been good for us :)
-
Viv-I REFUSE to use Aldi nappies now....after going thru 1 packet..maybe 2....i had nothing but troubles with Jasmines poo's cos they never came up high enough on her tummy where her poo's tend to end up leaking from. So now i cant recommend Coles Love Baby brand enough.....i rate them higher then huggies even!!
-
We use huggies infant size. We did try Babylove, but had so many leaks we went back to huggies. Any leak we have ever had with them is due to my error in not pointing the winky down. I have also found them so absorbent.
-
isnt funny how different nappies suit different children.
for me with nixon huggies were great, hated baby love and after 6months used aldi and still do
Tyron, huggies we had leaks from day 1, baby live are great on him and about to try Aldi. actually dh bought aldi a few weeks back but he bought the newborn size, it does up to 6kg but they are too small, ive been putting them on him during the day and waiting to get rid of them (should do by tomorrow) but he actually has only had about 1 leak thus far!
Tyron learnt tonight that he can scream! lol it was quiet funny, and loud. had him laying on his tummy across my legs and he was watching the tennis with me (speaking of which did anyone watch it? i was hoping the other guy beat Federer and he was i thought a bit of a hottie lol)
welcome ruby!
Kate- love your ticker pic of L!
-
Nic - Yeah I was hoping the other guy won too. I really like Federer, but he has won so much, and its always good to see an under dog win! Good game though. I love tennis. Its 1 of only 2 sports I can actually watch and enjoy. That and my beloved AFL!!
Chels has cracked 6.1kg. Porky. She has had such a growth spurt lately!
-
Hi Girls, I think finding feet is so cute. Bella hasn't found hers yet but what she has found is her hair. Because it is so long she grabs onto it and I can't uncurl her fingers before she pulls onto it. Concerning nappies I use Huggies, havn't tries other brands cos I find Huggies great, no leaks, yet!
-
Very quiet in here today.
We use Huggie's as-well, Tried some brands & we had bad leakage problems with them, Huggies work really well for Maddi.
Nothing interesting happening here today, Maddi is alot happier, we see our MCHN tomorrow to see how much she's grown & how much she's put on.
Feels like she not far off 7kgs now.
-
Well Rhys is in Toddler huggies cause I found that the crawler ones weren't long enough cause his torso is so long. And I hate the toddler ones.....He always has leaks in them!! I think it might be cause he is to small for them but he is to big for the crawler ones!! I think I might try the Baby Love ones this week!!
-
Wow so much to read up on:)
Ok nappies! We use bamboo nature for day time and huggies for night! We have never had any trouble with huggies we just have to make sure they are on properly! We have also use woolies select and had no worries with them either! We really want to go to cloth but have no idea where to start:(
Welcome to Ruby! What a cute bub you have there! Myles has had little white tips in his gums since about 2 months and still no teeth! ARGH!
Nick hehe on Ty screaming! I love hearing all the new little and big noises Myles makes! I was wanting federer to loose too and the other guy was kinda cute:)
Hello to everyone else! Would do more personals but am shattered!
Myles is still waking nearly every 2 hours at night! Its driving me insane! Do you think he may need to go onto solids cause maybe he is hungry? I am grasping at straws ladies! I am even considering this lullabub thing that rocks the cot, thats how desperate I am!
Here I am super desperate but we re going camping on the weekend! Crazy hey! DH bday is Australia day so he want sto go away wakeboarding! So I said yes! OMG Everyone will be hating us if Myles cries all night! Who knows maybe he will surprise us!
Oh Q where would I get a mozzie net for his porta cot?
-
Hey ladies.
All floating along well here. Lu doing all things baby like. She sleeps like a champ. Does 9-10pm ish to 6-7am ish most nights.
Not looking like rolling anytime soon. Hangs out on her tummy but no interest in moving anywhere! slacker........
Thinking about having another, maybe when she is 7-8 months.... in for a pennie and all that. Bound to have a rotten one second time around though!
Amber- i think you can buy mossie net material from spotlight........ ya poor bugger, every 2 hours overnight must be exhausting. Hope he catches Lu's sleeping bug soon. x
Nic- Lu is really trying out different sounds now, squeals crack me up!
Mo- sorry to hear Maddi has not been 100%. Hope all is better now.
MWAH to ya'll. xxx
-
I'm so shattered. L is practically sleeping thru but while he is not feeding at 2am, he still wakes and demands nappy change/re-wrapping/dummy. Then up at 5am for the feed. With this new routine we feed him at around 9.30/10pm. Cause at the moment I feed, supplement feed and then express. This takes around an hour or more.
Initially thought my supply was returning. Last night expressed 60mls and then 100mls first thing this morning. Have only been able to express small amounts for the rest of the day. Taking the fenugreek so we'll see. Off to Drs tomorrow for the meds.
-
you girls talk to much:)
although i dont post that often. i scan the page most days:)
um nappies, huggies only so far. used the target ones for the 1st week, they were ok i guess:S my siseter in law only ever used bi-lo brand so i got a packet of those to try.(havent yet though) i think they are turning into the you'll love coles ones. but huggies all the rest of the time.
no rolling yet. he accidently rolled from his belly to back but isnt the milestone rolling from back to belly???
hello everyone
and i have put new pics of lachlan on fb for those of you who have it:)
see you all soon
-
Amber - Myles is still kinda young for solids, but you could always try him! maybe try siome of that farex stuff. I remember trying Liam on it when he was 4 months old, and he didnt take to it. (You could tell cause he would just spit it out or gag). So I left it a few weeks then tried again. Apparantly, its usually about 5 months or so for them to be able to use their tongues properly (getting the food from the front of the mouth to the back so they can swallow it). Its worth a try though! I know you dont believe in controlled crying, but have you thought of just letting him whinge for a little bit? You might be surprised, he may put himself back to sleep? Also, I cant remember, do you wrap Myles? I know if I wrap Chels really really tight at night, she is out like a light for hours! Just a few suggestions anyway....
Nerida - At least its getting a bit better for you hey? At lkeast Lachlan isnt demanding a feed now. I always found when Liam used to wake in the middle of the night (which he only did for about the first 4 weeks though), we used to just make sure all the lights were kept low, no real talking to him, and avoid eye contact (I know that can be soooooo hard when they are giving you huge smiles). If ya do that, then they tend to start thinking, "There isnt much point waking up, its not fun etc". Worked for us anyway.
Ange - Wow, how exciting!! Another bub! I wonder who wil be the first of us to get pregnant again?????? (Better not be me!!!) I cant wait til someone in here gets another preggy tummy!!
Kate - How Lachlan been? His diarroaeh stopped?
Only Huggies for me too. I hated the Target ones and not overly fond of the Woolies ones either. I guess I'll just stick with Huggies as I havent really had any problems with them.
OMG, sorry i my posts seemed like I think I know everything! LOL. Just thought I would offer some advice as Ive been there before! Hope you guys all had a great weekend! Im doing Weight Watchers at the moment. Been doing really well but tonight Im starving! LOL. Just wanna get the rest of this baby weight off. Not too much more to go.
***Off to eat a carrot*** :(
-
it sort of cleared up becky, he hadnt done a poo for a couple of days and today he did a little one, and it STUNK!!! normally i can stand it but i had to open the window. ppppooooooooooeeeeey:)
-
LOL _ Dont you love those ones!!! Chels did one of those today too, except it was all up her front, all up her back and leaking out the sides!
-
Amber i put Maddi on to sweet dreams formula because she was still hungry it worked for me.
No that it's any help to you since your B/Fing. Maybe talk to your health nurse see if she has any idea's.
Ange nice to see you posting, been wondering how Lu's doing. How's the move going?
How exciting, wonder how many of us will be pregnant around the same time.
Anyone else planning another bub soon?
-
Sorry could not read all posts :(
Boomba - cloth is really easy. PM me if you want some help :)
We are also off camping today (in the rain) see you all in a few days :D
-
Heya all,
Thought Id drop in to say hello. Been working and then mum and then attempting to be housemaid, cook and uni student all rolled into one.
Home today in bed on laptop have a terrible tummy ache all I had was a cup of tea and the milks in date but had churning agonising pain and feel like I could chunder any minute. Guess I thought Ryan gets to puke every day it's my turn hehe. Lil mr is home he caught conjunctivitus from the little folk at daycare grr, took him to hospital and they gave him some cream and took a swab to see exactly what it is, turns out its bacterial so is a easy fix and is already looking almost 100%. I rung and told the daycare they're happy to have him back tomorrow as it means he's had 3 days of treatment and they will put the ointment in his eyes for me just hope I'm 100% by then too!
Anyways hes just gone to sleep so I'm going to try and join him as well, take care all love and hugs!
-
Maddi is now 6.4kg's, 63cms long & has a head Circ of 41.9.
Nurse is very happy with her :D
She's having her 4 month needles tomorrow afternoon as-well.
-
mo - i'm flat out with this baby.. another one? no chance. what are you plotting over there?
-
NO WAY!! No more babies fr me yet. Couldnt handle any more than 2 at home!LOL. Not that the y are bad kids in any way, but Im too busy as it is! We will wait til Liam at least starts school.
Celtic - Could you be the first of us UTD #2?
-
I'd love to start TTC#2 when Maddi is around 7 months, but it depends on my health.
Only time will tell ;)
-
Oh I could so go for another one now!! Lol....
-
No - no second baby for me just yet. We'll wait until Hayley is about 1 year old before we start trying.
Mo - good luck with the needles tomorrow
Have had 3 nights in a row with 6 hours inbetween feeds then followed by 4.5 hours inbetween! I feel great for getting a bit more sleep!
-
Hi everyone, Isabella slept 10hrs last night, she's always been a good sleeper 6-8hrs. During the day she feeds every 3hrs but doesn't have much wake time, normally falling asleep after feeding. How long do your babies stay awake for during the day? She hasn't started rolling yet, just happy to stay on her back.
Boomba-feel for you hun, can't offer any advice except maybe some matchsticks to keep your eyes open during the day.
Bella had her needles last Wed and hasn't done a poo since, now when she passes wind it really, really stinks, she clears the room out quick smart.
Have to go deal with the older kids, 9 sleeps till school and counting!
-
Back from Drs. Got a script for Motilum to hopefully increase my supply. Don't know if the fenugreek needed more time as only been on it for 2 days, but don't want to waste time on it only to have my supply dwindle further.
#2??? If you asked me a couple of months ago would have said no way, but now thinking it could be nice to give Lochie a brother or sister. I'm 34 next week so I don't have a lot of time to spare if we choose to have another. **hears biological clock ticking**
It is so hot here today. Had to walk to the Drs. Sweat was pouring off me by the time I got there. Looks like its about to storm. **crosses fingers**
Celtic - nice to see you in here. Sorry to hear you and Ryan haven't been well. Daycare concerns me about how many things they pick up. But what choice is there? Sounds like you have a lot on your plate!
Leah - happy camping!
Diana - we work on a 90 minute feed and play cycle. He does go longer but then we have a grumpy baby and its not worth it. As soon as I see a tired sign he's off to bed. He sometimes sleeps only an hour, tho today he slept 2.5 which was heaven.
-
*slaps forehead*
why do you guys find it so awesome you'd want another?
why don't i want another?
is it because my labour was 100% carp?
is it because i still have a jellybelly?
is it because i have a $40,000 law degree (incl post-grad) going down the t00bs?
is it because i don't sleep much?
is it because being pregnant was carp?
is it because the world was flat-out getting me to do this once?
nb: i love james to death and back - i just can't see me coping with anyone else as demanding as DH and the boy.
-
No more bubbas for us yet! Maybe when Myles turns 2 we will start trying again! I just want to be able to give him all my attention! And I am absolutely dreading giving birth again:)
Myles is now 6.5kgs! Little porker!
Had another awful night he was up for maybe 2 hours and nothing would get him to stay asleep! ARGH! Hopefully he is just having a blah time and will get back into his routine soon! Fingers crossed!. DH canme home this morning and took him so I could get another couple of hours sleep!
We are going to get a little baby pool for camping so Myles and I can chill out while daddy skis! Hope he likes it!
Leah I have pmd you about cloth nappies!
Have to go make dinner! mmmm Spaghetti blogonaise mmmmm!
x
-
Viv - I hear ya!
We always thought we'd have just one and maybe thats the way it will be given it took 2.5 years for L to be conceived. If thats the way it is I will be perfectly happy. Tho when we had just one dog, we had to get another to keep the first dog company.
I am not a baby person and am counting the days until he is older and can talk with me and be more social. Maybe you are the same? I keep telling myself that they don't stay this way for long, it just needs to be endured. Look how far we have come already.
Whatever way your family is configured it will be right for you.

Hey everyone!
Had a full-on day with Kieran not wanting to sleep and feeding every two hours! Yuck!! He is finally having a decent sleep now, but I will wake him up soon for a feed and a bath. Still feeling a bit off ATM, Joel is too, this bug just lingers around, it's so annoying!
We are thinking about #3, but I'm not 100% sold yet! If I could guarantee another bub just like Kieran I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Viv - I felt exactly the same way as you for two whole years after Joel was born. I had a really horrid, traumatic birth and a horrific recovery. I SWORE I'd never have another baby! (I loved Joel to bits and wouldn't have swapped him for the world though ;) ) My friend's were going for number 2 and I seriously thought they were CRAZY. I thought, "why would anyone want a second?". I have my own business that I love and I thought I'd rather do that than have another bub, #2 means I can't run the business the same way. I eventually came around to the idea of another bub when I realised how lonely Joel looked playing outside, one day I just said, "what the heck!". I went in with my eyes wide open this time and learned relaxation techniques etc...and it made me more confident to go through labour again. I have to say that I had a wonderful experience the second time around and I have absolutely NO regrets! Sorry to ramble! Just wanted to say, don't even think about #2 right now, don't feel guilty that you don't want another one. Just enjoy James ATM. Give yourself time and you may one day change your mind or you may feel that one gorgeous son is enough for you.
Saffi - Hope the meds work!
Amber - I hope Myles gives you some more sleep soon!
Dianne - Wow, what a great sleeper Isabella is!
Kate - Yay for Hayley sleeping longer at night!
Mo - Wow, thinking of #2 already! I'm sure Maddi would love a brother or sister! Glad to hear she is nice and healthy.
Celtic - Good to see you in here! Hope you and Ryan get better soon
Nic - How's things without your DH around?
Kim - Hope your girls are behaving for you!
Have a great night everyone! :)
-
Viv - I'm with you... not even thinking about another.... at least not till Tahlia is over 2!
Hope everyone else is well
Melb gals - when r we going to meet up again?
-
Maddi is far from an easy baby, but i still want another one.
Maybe it's because my pregnancy was really good & i loved being pregnant & my labor was everything i wanted.
Guess i probably wont be as lucky next time, but maybe I'll get a less demanding/clingy baby lol
Kellie I'm up for another meet-up early Feb, should we pick somewhere else this time?
-
No number #2 yet, not sure if I was? Had bad nausea all day and agonising pains then bled really badly and passed a chunky meaty looking thing with what appeared to be its own lil vein/artery things and some other stuff won't go into detail, then I bled for about another hour and then all the pain vanished.
Ryans had a cranky arvo, but he's finally asleep, had a bit of bum action probably from being gunked up but he's all peaceful and snoozey now. He had a snuffle the other day but he got over it really quick and he got over this nearly overnight so hoping this germy exposures making his immune system nice and strong. Can't wait to finish work though and stay with him each day he's so much fun he talks and squeals and loves cuddles, mmm I can smell his baby smell on my shoulder he still has that yummy new born smell just want to go cover him in kisses but it would wake him up and he'd be REALLY peevy!
