LOL, I say that all the time! We had a few days last week where he did 3 hours in the arvo :dunno: who knows, I (kinda) give up trying to figure it all out!
Viv - only tried him on soft steamed carrot fingers, he was doing OK at first, but then he started gagging and that was it for me! Will try again in another month or so.
-
I put DS down in his pram tonight (sneakily meekily ha ha) and the first two times he wakes and crys, I dont have to pick him up to soothe him. I wont get him out untill his third wake-up, at which point I'll feed him and put him back in the cot.
Can't wait to see what really happens
-
Good luck Amy!
K had two freakishly long naps today. Both were for 2 hours, absolutely unheard of! Joel & I are really tired though so maybe we all have a bug still. I'm hoping it's the start of a nice new habit!
Night all :)
-
bums to you lot with kids who slept today :-p
this boy stayed up 12.30 - 4.30pm, then only gave in during 'elton john: live'.... he crashed on me and we had 45 minutes on the couch before dh got home.
roll up stage two - refused to sleep in his cot without my presence. cuddles my hand up to his face and pats it or pinches my arm. we settled so long we ran into another feed, which finally put him to sleep.
what a fiasco.
kids... indeed.
(yes i'm glad the extensions failed)

So how'd we all go last night?
I'm too scared to say it outloud so i'll whisper......... down at 7pm with minimal fuss, wake for boob at 2.30am.......slept until 8.10am this morning! Waking up once has not happened since before teeth, lets hope this is the NEW habit.
If your night wasn't so good, feel free to throw rotten things this way, nothing worse than people gloating when you've had a crappy night. ;)

Morning all!
Things here are going great guns. No teeth or crawling yet. She did roll the other day but I think it was pure fluke. Oh she is doing the backwards scuffle but thats about it.
solids are going great - tried her on the tinned chunker (7-10 mo stuff) - no go! Cried like, well, like a baby! So back to the mash. Am going to give her a go on cous cous this weekend and see how that goes. We tried pureeing some chicken on the weekend - went to the dog in the end. I couldnt stand how it looked or smelt. So i just couldnt imagine C eating it.
I can't believe how quickly time is going. Where have the past 7.5 months gone. I told DH yesterday that she will be 8 months in a fortnight and he said - she has only just gone 7 months. I had to point out to him that it was the 2nd June. WOW! Head spin.
He goes back to townsville in about 10 days. So not looking forward to that. But at least my sister is coming out....and the week before is a REALLY short week for us out here. Public holiday Monday and then our show holiday on the Friday. I hope my sister enjoys the show out here - just a little different to the one she is used to!
Looks like I may be taking up a new job which will more than likely make life out here a little more tolerable. Back into the medical industry. Funny hwo things work. WAs in seeing my Doc and mentioned that I used to work in the medical industry - that night his boyfriend who is the practice manager rings me to discuss the possibility of working there! Woohoo. Would be good to get back into it. Feels good to be wanted.
Now....maybe we have moved beyond this topic but.....has anyone else's libido STILL not returned?? Its now been 6 weeks since last DTD. I am not particular concerned but am sure DH is about to explode.
Viv-caitlyn normally stays up for around 4 hoursr inthe day and some days her naps are lucky to be 45 mins! I did get 3 hours out of her on Saturday but normally her day naps are only 30-45 mins.
Cot- I know this is probably "bad" but I cuddle C to sleep, wait 10 mins then get up and wrap her,put her down in her cot and she never never stirs! She will wake at around 10-11 for dummy then 2-3 for a feed then 630ish for wake up time. So far no issues with teh cot - just still can't unwrap her!
Nic - Would LOVE to be artistic/creative enough to do scrapbooking! I bought a heap of stuff but I jsut look at it and go " uhhhh what do I do now????" So I have paper and things and scissors and other stuff just sitting on the dining room table - one day!
Anyway - guess I had better go and get ready for work :(
talk later - have a great day ladies! MWAH

Oooooohhh Myyyyyyyy Faaaarrrreakin' Goodness!!
We had the WORST night EVER last night. It's all a bit of a blur but there was vomiting (have I mentioned I don't do vomiting? I NEVER vomit and neither did DD, apart from the newbie milk posseting), diarrhea, about a million wake ups, some panadol (which did nothing BTW) and at some stage I managed to step on a ****roach in the dark WITH BARE FEET!!! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwww!
I have no idea what was wrong with the little man but it was something - I gave him a bit of stewed apple after his dinner last night. It was seriously the smallest amount. Do you think it could have been that? Or he has had carrots the last few nights for the first time, would it take a few days to have a reaction to that? He is thankfully sound asleep now so hoping he will be OK today/tonight.
Ange - not going to throw anything at you. Well done Lu! Hope she keeps it up!
-
Just took K for his 6 month injections, a little late! He was sick last time so I didn't want to take him. He did pretty well and is having a nap now. I hope I don't have to wake him up to pick up Joel from kinder! Hopefully he won't have any reactions, he's been good with the other injections so fingers crossed.
Willow - Sorry you had such a bad night. Could it be gastro? There is a LOT of it going around ATM. I don't think stewed apple would have that kind of reaction? I hope he feels better today, that must have been a terrible night for you all!
Ange - WTG Lu!!!! Keep it up!
Rebecca - That's awesome that you may get a new job! I hope it all works out for you.
Viv - Has James got a small soft toy he likes? Have you tried giving him something to cuddle when he goes to sleep? I've heard this can work.

Mornin'
Max is having a freakishly long sleep....sorry...don't mean to rub it in, but I am amazed. Kid was asleep by 6:30pm last night, woke up at 2:30am for feed....then 6:40am. Usually gets up and goes back to bed by 9am but no....went back to sleep and it is now 9:10am!! Can't believe it...don't know what is going on! Poor Willow I feel for you....we are at opposite extremes....you don't know why L's awake and I don't know why M's asleep still! OH...stepping on ****roach...YUCK!
Anyway, I think I'll go and pamper the pooch and will be back later.
P.S Forgot to say Max is STILL rolling....It was REAL! Only one direction but he seems happier already. Trish know I know how you felt. I'll have to get some more on the floor tips from you to help Max move even more
-
I'm actually wondering now why he's asleep still - 2.5 hours and counting!! Not surprising really, given last night...
He seems to be better this morning. No more vomiting but his nappies are still a bit yuck.
 Please, please don't let it be gastro!
-
oh sorry to hear your rough night willow. wow his sleeping it off today isnt he! yukky ****roaches HATE THEM!
trish Ty only got his 6m needle at 7m also. he had a bit of reaction last time but he was fine this time around
-
Trish - I was late with Harry's needles too and it stil set off his ezcema - thankfully no more till 12 months...
Wilow - poor little guy! Feeling any better today?
Talking about sleep - Harry took three today!!! Ah bliss! I turned around yesterday to find he had pulled himself up to standing from sitting using his toy drawer, I managed to catch him as he slid off to the side and take a stack. WTG my big duffer!
-
wtg harry.... you are officially now on 'face plant' duty again.
willow - when j first had apple he hurled it back, but he wasn't unhappy, so i guess it sounds like a bug round your way. hope things get better for you soon.
trish - i have just bought a babygund comforter with a dog head on it - so hopefully he can learn to love that. his little silkie is mildly of interest to him but not cutting it for helping him soothe himself.
-
Woohoo!!!! Kieran made baby of the month on the BB home page!!!!!!!!!! :cheer: :cheer:
Hee, hee, it is a bit of a cheeky photo, I hope he doesn't hate me for it when he turns 21 LOL!
Viv - I've seen those comforters, I hope it works! Maybe give it to him in the car and pram as well so he becomes familiar with it.
Claire - WTG Harry for pulling yourself up! What a clever boy!!
Nickers - Glad I'm not the only one that was late for the injections! What sort of reaction did Tyron have in the past?
Willow - How did L go last night? I hope he's feeling better today.
Julia - I'm so glad Max is happier now he is rolling! It gives them something else to focus on for a while. Have you got floor boards or tiles you can put him on? I put K on our floorboards and he has learned to push himself around. I leave things lying around to tempt him to move and get them. Here's hoping our boys learn more moves really soon!
-
Hi everyone,
Willow - hope you had a better night last night. It sounds like your bubba has a bug. Hope he feels better soon.
Well now Ethan is eating from tins and jars he is doing much better. Didn't want lunch today but that is the first time in about 4 days. He is drinking a lot less milk too (nurse said he was having too much and to try and cut him down a bit). Sleeping well (only woke us once last night) and getting into everything.
Well it looks like I am going back to work at the end of next month. Just spoke to my boss and they are happy to take me back two days a week which is exactly what I wanted. MIL will look after Ethan which is good. I figure two days a week gives me enough of a break to really enjoy the rest of the week with my little man. I am looking forward to some adult interaction though. Funny I'm a teacher so I am going from looking after my own little one to looking after other peoples. Not sure which is worse.
Might be going away for the weekend. Looking forward to that because it is the first holiday with Ethan. Also looking forward to seeing something that is not my house.
Better go E is chucking a wobbly.
-
Trish that's a great Pic & congrats :)
-
 love the pic trish! ;) good job!
Curious ELZ- how many BF's is considered too many?
Hope things are better round your parts willow.
 Still havn't had our 6 months needles. She seems to have had a cold since she was 6 months! soon.
-
Thanks guys, last night was much better, still more unsettled than usual but no more vomiting. He was happy as larry during the day, had two big sleeps - nearly 3 hrs in the morning and about 1 hr 45 in the arvo but woke a few times upset between 6pm and 9.30pm. Fed him then, again at 1.30am then slept through till 5.30, up at 8am.
Not sure if it was a bug, it could have just been from his cough - he is coughing to the point of gagging quite a bit, so maybe that combined with foreign tucker (or just too much tucker) was enough for the vomit :dunno:
Haven't ruled out more fangs on the way either...gave him some of those teething tablets last night and he settled right down after that...hmmmm, curiouser and curiouser...
:woot: Kieren - gonna go check it out now Trish! **ETA: hehe, that's classic! Nice sig - proud much?? LOL!
Ange - I've been wondering about the number of B'feeds too...some say around 3-4 at this age, but DS is having more than that. ABA girlies say 'whatever he wants' LOL! Which is very liberal but not all that helpful! I kinda need to work out some sort of 'routine' with his b'feeds in the next few months to minimise the impact of me returning to work in Sept...is only 2 days a week, but in my job I'll be hard pushed to get away from my desk more than once a day to express. So if he could manage on 3 feeds by then (10 months) for those two days I'd be happy with that (would feed him in the morning, he'd have EBM for lunch, then i'd feed him at night) . Don't care how many he has on my home days. That worked with DD anyway.
