News flash!!!! L is { This } close to saying his first word. I think it will be bubba. At the moment he is saying wah ba. He will be 10 months tomorrow. I wonder if that is his "birthday" gift.
Trish - haven't tried the Aldi nappies yet. I like the picture of the koala on it tho. Too cute. Also found out they are putting an Aldi in near to us so if we do like the nappies we can get them more easily.
Mo - happy 11 months to Maddi.
Don't have a clue what we'll do for L's birthday. Not sure if we'll theme it. Got to start thinking about it.
What are all the Mums and bubs doing for Father's Day? I know L has been doing some painting at daycare so that will make a nice gift.
Hey to all the mums and bubs!
That's it from me.
My baby is off to daycare tomorrow - scary and exciting all at the same time! :)
Saffi - L will be talking in no time! Happy 10 months for tomorrow.
Hope all Mums and Bubs are well.
Oooh, good luck tomorrow Terri! I hope it all goes well.
Happy 10 months to Lachlan! Hope you said your first word today ;).
Been busy putting new stock on the site today. It takes FOREVER! No wonder no-one else does it LOL!
K has a new trick, he can say "Woof". Every time he hears our dog bark he stops and says "woof", so cute! When I ask, "What does a dog say" he tries to say woof, but he forgets how to do it because I haven't said the word so he just blows out the 'fffff', hee hee! He's such a good boy and did it on command for daddy tonight :).
Hope you're all well, it's been a bit quiet in here!
all these talking bubba's well done! i thought a couple of times Ty has said "mum" but then he doesnt repeat himself and goes on about dadada again!!
my gf had a baby boy yesterday and we've been in to visit them today! They were trying on and off and several ivf attempts (all up about 7yrs i think) so its so amazing to see them to have their own little bundle. His name is KADE and her labour was under 4hrs and had no gas nothing! and OMG TYRON LOOKED HUGE!! sitting there in the pram he looked like an oversized baby lol! (and Kade was a decent size 8lb 10oz)
Good luck tomorrow Terri hope it goes well!
Happy 10months Lachlan!
Maddi's a real chatterbox, She says Mumma, Dadda, Bubba & what sounds like Nanna.
She doesn't talk as much as she use to too, just babbles more to herself now.
GL today Terri.
Belated Happy 10 months to Lachlan.
Trish how cute of K, the store looks good.
Questions for the Mums of 2, How long were each of you labours?
With Maddi it was 17hrs & 10 mins from waters breaking to her being placed on my chest.
Kinda hoping for shorter one this time.
hey all
had ye olde hourly wake last night after midnight because... i gave him a rest from panadol and just used chamomilla. what a joke! useless!! bleh.
i think it might be fine used WITH panadol, but i'm never skipping the baby pan again.
still no sign of these teeth, though drool/poo-bags has been at it for days.
his words are... 'mama, dada, baba, ee-loh (hello)".
he has finally figured out the wave - even waved his poos down the loo when i said, 'bye bye poos'... *wave* cute
he knows the wave goes with hello, bye and the front door. so he starts waving when we go out the front door. cuuuuute.
he also waves when i'm putting him to sleep - not sure what that's about.
oh, and i finally get my cuddles now. he's wraps his arms round my neck as tight as he can and burrows. makes it all worthwhile (aside from watching him do the yogurt dance)
hope everyone is well.
saffi - mamias are great - won't use anything else.
Hey all!
Had a visit from mum this morning, it's nice to have adult company!
Mo - My labour with Joel from first contraction was 37 hours (some will say it was pre-labour, but I couldn't sleep so it was labour to me!). My labour with Kieran from the first contraction was 17.5 hours. Active labour with K was probably around 8 hours, but I count from the first contraction at 4am. So it was heaps quicker and much more pleasant the second time!
Viv - How cute that James waves when you put him to bed, awww... Oh and GO PANADOL :cheer:
Nic - Congrats to your friend on her bub, I love hearing of people who finally get their bub after a long wait :).
Have a great day everyone!
my two are a bit hard to compare.
Nixon i broke my waters with no labour starting until 5 days later. Then i laboured for 17hrs from my first contraction before an emerg c/s was performed i had not dialted and Nix was distressed.
Tyron my waters broke and started mild contractions for 3hrs, then they stopped and after 40hrs never started again and because of risk factors etc i then had another c/s.
Mo - first labour was 72 of the longest hours of my life!! Like trish, some was probably pre-labour but it still hurt like hell and I couldn't eat or sleep for 3 days so to me, it was labour.
With L from the first niggle to on my chest - 5 fast and furious hours!!
I complained about a long labour the first time, but trust me, fast isn't exactly great either LOL! I was kinda in shock after he was born and it took me about 3 hours to stop shaking. I couldn't believe it happened so fast and to be honest, it was much more painful. The after pains were horrendous the second time too...have heard that's pretty common. Anyhoo, enough whinging, I did it all with a few sucks of gas both times so can't have been too bad! LOL.
Thanks ladies :)
I think if i get a good nights sleep this time i could cope better with 17hrs of labour.
With Maddi i was up early out all day then my waters broke that night so i never got to sleep or rest before it all happened.
Do you think you coped better with the labour & pushing?
I'm dreading the whole pushing stage, just hoping i can cope better this time.
Hidey Ho people!!
Sorry I have been MIA a bit lately!I have been a bit down last few wekks. Letting things get on top of me a bit I think. It gets hard sometimes with 2 bubs demanding you at the same time! LOL.
Things are getting much better now though! It is so cute, cause with Chels moving all over the place, it is so great to see her and Liam just play now. They both disappear up into one of their rooms, and I go and check on them and they have toys and books spread everywhere, just playing together. It is so cute! So I am feeling lots better now!
Where are we at? Hmmmm... Chels has 6 teeth, crawling at lightning fast speeds, cruising furniture, clapping, waving etc. She is such a cutie! Liam is heading towards 3 and he is so funny! Knows his alphabet perfectly and can count to 50 if ya help him just a little....lol. My babies are growing too fast!!!
Amber - Good to see ya the other day! MUST catch up soon!
Trinity - Labour with Liam was 24 hours, crapper than crap! Everything went wrong, vaccuum extraction, third degree tear, epidural that didnt work etc. HELL. Chels on the other hand was 4 hours! No drugs, no tear (hardly). Was 100% better! I do admit too though, contractions with the short labour was waaaaayyyy more intense, but I would still prefer it any day. Oh and I found I only had to push with Chels 3 times (yep just 3 times!), as apposed to 2 and a half hours with Liam! You'll be fine!! Research shows subsequent labours are waaaaaay easier!
Trish - How did you go with toilet training Joel? I am looking at doing Liam very soon. Any tips?
Hi to everyone else!!! I will be back to catch up with everyone very soon! Gonna go relax now!
MWAH!!
Morning!
 Becky, sorry to hear you've been going through a rough patch. I'm glad things are better. Chelsea sounds like she is doing great! Re: TT Joel, we used one of those toilet seats with steps, he didn't like the potty. We used LOTS of bribery (a lollipop or a snake lolly ;)) and praise. I wanted him fully TT by the time K was to be born, but Joel hated doing a poo in the toilet! He would ask for his nappy and then run outside and do one . When DH took 2 weeks paternity leave he took over the TT'ing and Joel was fully trained in that time. He just responded better to his dad rather than me! Good luck with Liam!
Mo - I coped HEAPS better with labour the second time, I did lots of reading on relaxation techniques and I practiced them daily. They made a huge difference. I had such a nice experience (my story is on BB somewhere), but I did have an epidural later on. It was a choice I made before I went into labour, I was pretty traumatised by Joel's birth and I was so tired afterwards, I didn't want to go through that again. I coped fine thanks to the relaxation techniques and I had a epidural when I was 5cm. I probably could have kept going without it, but I really think it was the best thing for me. The epi wore off around the time I needed to push and K was out within 10 minutes whereas I pushed for an hour with Joel. Your body seems to know what it's doing the second time around! You'll do well!!
Hi to everyone, better run!
Good morning everyone! Have been a little slack in posting lately...so much going on with DH away and me working full days!
Sorry - only had the one bub so far so can't compare yet!
Becky- I am really sorry to hear that things havent been too good. And am glad that they are picking up a little now. Stay strong!
Things here are going well. one of C's top teeth have come through - again no yelling, screaming crying so I hope that continues for the rest of them - although I am sure that the molars wont be that easy.
I made spag bog the other day and C had some - OMG what a mess. Was tempted to just put her outside when she was done and let the dogs clean her off!! Her high chair is now stained a little pink colour. Am starting to give her more of what we eat - am going to talk to DH about modifying our eating habits when he gets home so that we CAN give her left overs. Somehow I don't think butter chicken and thai green chicken and honey soy marinades would be good for her. She loves her daddy's mashed potato but need to introduce other more exciting things for her. she HATES being fed now....she has to do it herself. I bought one of those suction cap bowls and put it down for her....big mistake. She was more interested in getting that unstuck than she was in eating what was in it. And of course she did...and it went everywhere.
Still no crawling but i am confident she will get there in her own time. I didnt crawl mum tells me...i just got up and started to hang onto furniture so maybe she will be more like that.
Its my last day of work today. Well at Landmark anyway. My old/new boss rang yesterday and begged me to do some work for him last night...I did and didnt get everything done and into bed until after 11 last night. Then C stirred at 2 (spat dummy out) and then again at 530. Then my alarm went off at 7. She didnt wake until 815 thogh! Was good - couild get all ready and her lunch ready. Then I just woke her up, gave her face a little wash, dressed her, brushed "our" teeth and headed out the door.
I have a question for everybody....is everyone still using the same nappy bag now that they did when bubs was newborn? Mine is HUGE now - I dont use all the room in it. Looking to get a smaller version...any suggestions on a smaller nappy bag?? Prefereably a backpack type.
Have a great day everyone! MWAH
hi everyone
not much new happening with us, Tahlia is also saying a few words, mumma, dadda, nanna, and hello... she holds her toy phone to her ear when she says hello, its so cute!
Noticed something a bit weird about her crawling this week, when she is crawling on the tiles she has open flat hands, but as soon as she gets to either our rug or carpet, she closes her fist. I tried doing it that way, and its quite hard. Maybe she doesnt like the feeling of the carpet on her palms??? who knows!
Rebecca - I still use my nappy bag sometimes, depending on how long we are going to be out for, but when we are just out on short trips I have a Dora the Explorer back pack that we use.
Mo - sorry cant help with your question, but if 2nd labours are much quicker I better go to the closest hospital this time cause mine was only about 6 hours! We went into the city for T, and I wish we had of stayed at the local hospital, cause the contractions I had in the car were horrible! Luckily it was in the middle of the night so we didnt have peak hour traffic to contend with!
Anyway, better go and get dressed before T wakes up!
Have a great day everyone!
Kellie Maddi does the same thing with crawling.
Trish & Becky good to hear you both coped better, Trish i was like you pushed for an hour or so with Maddi.
Becky glad things are better for you now, I look forward to Maddi playing with her sibling.
She is such a people person, but she is so rough!
Bec-Hope you have nice last day at work.
Can't help with the nappy bag as we still use the big one, Her cloth nappies & toys take up a fair bit of room.
I remember someone asked in the last thread what Maddi is short for it's short for Maddison.
Don't know why it come to me last night, silly pregnant/baby brain.
Thanks guys!!
Trish - Thanks for that. yeah I think I will get one of those toilet step things too. They look easiest. So dreading it but I have decided D day will be 1st of October. Give me a month to prepare... lol.
Rebecca - Im the same, I just use a backpack now. Although I have stuff to lug around for 2 babies, so it is ALWAYS full, but I just got sick of carrying around the huge baby bag! Maybe just try some sort of backpack too. I have a wiggles one....
Kellie - Thats odd about the crawling hey.... mustnt like the feel ..... lol. Liam was always like that when he went near grass. Hated it until he was about 18 months old... lol
Mo - Yeah its awesome, they just follow each other around now.... keeps them a bit occupied a bit more. And if you only pushed for an hour or so with Maddi, Im sure it wont take much this time! LOL
Hi everyone,
Sorry it has been a long time. I am planning on being more sociable you know but I am just so busy.
Well here is an update on us. Ethan is 10.5 months and is growing so fast. He is weighing in at 10.5 kg and is getting very heavy to carry around. Eating well and down to 1 day sleep. At least he has a decent sleep this way. On a good day he will sleep for 2-3 hours.
Ethan is not feeling great today. He slept most of the day. Woke at 6.30 for a bottle and back to sleep till 8.30 then went down for his sleep at 11.30 as usual and slept till 3, awake for half an hour and then back to bed for another hour and a half. Has had a temp but that is all.
Anyone know anything about introducing cows milk? I know not to start till 12 months but how much are they supposed to have? Just curious.
Oh exciting news - we are starting swimming lessons next week. I can't wait. I think Ethan will have a ball.
Anyway better go,
Take care all.
