I'm not going anywhere Amber! BB is like my home away from home, especially after a bad nights sleep! Yep requested a new avvy! :)
Hi ladies, Thought I'd check in to see how you are all doing! I'm sorry, I only read the last few pages - I haven't had much patients for the computer screen lately. I hope your all well!
Sorry to hear about the dummy Saffi, but I happen to agree with the other ladies - I'm sure he'll give it up in his own time! Ro still sucks her thumb to go to sleep and although I know alot of people frown upon it - I really don't mind. Maybe if she sucked her thumb more I would mind more, but I kind of see it as what she associates sleep with! We were at a BBQ last year and it was about Rochelle's bed time and one of the ladies actually told Rochelle she was a 'naughty girl' in a deep tone, for sucking her thumb whilst she side saddled my lap and nuzzled her head into my chest. I was actually quite offended - I don't think it's a naughty behavior at all! Maybe in a few years we'll put some of that 'no bite' paint on her thumb, but till then - meh!
Minimax - Rochelle has been toilet trained since a bit after Brooklyn was born, but I think it was a fluke because she picked it up straight away. I hear girls are a bit quicker than boys too. But I just wanted to mention that Ro goes to the toilet on her own, except for #2's. She just has a toilet step which she puts in front of the toilet herself and climbs up, then pulls down her 'knicker bockers' (as she likes to call them) and does the job. She is able to wipe herself for wee's and I do allow her to wipe for poos, but I just wipe again just incase she hasn't quite got it all as you can understand. She's been able to go by herself for awhile now and I think in the beginning we'd just go in with her and talk her through it (she was good at going to the toilet by that stage) whilst giving her heaps of praise and once she seemed confident enough, we just let her go by herself and I always just call out 'Do you need some help Ro?' as you do. Usually it's 'NOooooooooooo'! But she won't even let us stand in the toilet with her when she does #2's! It's quite embarrassing when your out and your 2 year old is telling you, 'go outside Mummy, I doing poos' - she won't poo with me in there with her. I have to stand outside the cubicle and hold the door shut! Meanwhile, do I EVER get privacy in the toilet? lol.
Congrats to the Mum's with the new bubs! I hope you guys are loving your new additions!! I'm so excited for our new addition, but I think I've enjoyed this pregnancy the most of them all. :)
I better finish here and have a nap whilst the girls are asleep and before we have to head out for immunizations. Hope everyone is very well!
Hi everyone!!
Just a quickie to say hello!
My poor little girl has her 1st black eye :-(. At dancing last Thursday, before the class even started she ran full pelt at the shelf where they put their shoes and didn't slow down. Result = a swollen black eye which is now a gross shade of yellow. It doesn't seem to worry her though, so that's good I guess, I still feel terrible looking at it though!
Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend!
Gosh it has been ages since I logged on to bb ... slack I know. I am so addicted to Family Feud on facebook these days and it is about all I get time to do. Luka is keeping me on my toes. He has to be the most sooky and clingy of all of my three kids at this stage and has taken a real disliking to my MIL. Every time she tried to hold him or talk to him he starts by dropping his lip and then the inconsolible crying starts! It seems to be isolated to her, he is fine with FIL and friends, so not sure what the go is? She is really devo about it and says what have I dont? Why does he hate me? I have tried telling her it is a stage and I am sure if we perservere he will come around ... I HOPE!
As for the girls they are both fine. Mia has such a big attitude since starting kinder and it is not all good. The answering back and telling us she doesn't love us when she doesn't get what she wants is never great! Tay is going well, she has been pretty flat since getting tonsilitis this first time and last night we looked in her mouth and sure enough, her tonsils are all swollen again. Looks like we are going to have to make that trip to the ENT after all. I was hoping to avoid it as I just cannot imagine my baby having an operation, don't deal with that kind of stuff well.
So girls we have been talking the big V in this house hold the past couple of days. Has anyone's hubby who has finished having kids had one? We have come to the decision that 3 kids is plenty for us, we are so busy and they haven't even started sports etc. Imagine then?! I also don't think my poor old body could handle another pregnancy, everything kind of went wrong with my pregnancy with Luka and the birth was not great either that I think we would just be pushing the boundaries. So we want to do something so there are no little accidents! If anyone has any info like do you go on a waiting list being a public patient? How long does the guy have off work? Is it a day procedure? That would be helpful.
Sorry for no personals, but I have read everything I have missed. It is reassuring to know that we are or have or are going through the same things, like trying to lose the dummy, siblings adjusting to new additions and toilet training. We will all get there, little input about the dummy, never had a bigger dummy fan than Mia and she went cold turkey. Never thought it would happen, but once they come around to the idea and are happy to throw it in the bin, you know you are on the right tracks. I have no advice on toilet training, Tay is not interested in the least, will sit on the potty and say she has done a wee and hasn't and then wee her pants 5 minutes later ... I guess she will tell me when she is ready! We have had pretty smooth sailing with my kids adjusting to Luka, only real issues is Tay being a bit on the rough side with him! That is her nature though, she is my full on girl I think!
Anyway better go. Heading out to a friends today and need to shower and get organised. Hope you are all well x
Kaz - With the tonsils....as a kid who suffered from constant tonsilitis I say get to the ENT and see what can be done. Tonsilitis is the absolute pitts and I can bet that if Tay had them removed she would be a totally different kid. One of my mothers group friends had her little boys taken out and he's been so much better ever since...in more ways than one.
Oh and the BIG V....My Dad had it done YEARS ago, and I think it was a day procedure. I dont' even recall him having time off work because of it (but he is a workaholic). I'll be pushing DH into getting it done, but not 100% sure where future baby making is at at the moment! I figure it's their turn after we have had the pill, made and raised babies for years and years!
:leap: :leap: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MO!!!!!!! :leap: :leap:
Will be back later xx
Thanks Chicky xo
Kaz it's done as a day procedure at a clinic, i think if public medicare cover it & private will cost you around $300.
Most men go back to work the next day. Not idea on the public wait list but i imagine it would be at least 3 months.
Hi all
Happy birthday Mo. Hope you had a good day and you got some nice pressies.
kaz- a friend's hubby had the snip. It was a day procedure at a private clinic and he took a long weekend off to recover.
kellie - poor Miss T. I bet she won't be running into shelves any time soon.
Catherine - good to hear from you! When are you due? Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?
Not much happening here. I've caught the kids' cold and feeling pretty blah! L is good. He's getting cheekier by the day. M is standing all by herself more and more and longer and longer. Still not the best at sleeping. Really busy with work.
Hope you are all well.
Miss K has weaned herself, which is a really good thing because my health just sucks, now i can go back to taking my meds & not worry about K suffering from the side effects.
So now i just have to wait till i get better & for AF to show up and we can start TTC.
? for the b/fing Mummy's How long did it take for your cycles to come back to normal? If you had to stop b/fing how long did it take to get AF?
Girls are doing so well, Kodi copies everything Maddi does which is so cute & i swear Kodi is part monkey she climbs everything. I thought Maddi was bad but she had nothing on K.
Kodi has no fear of anything she keeps me busy.
Maddi talks so well now, she helps pick up after herself will take herself off to bed when she's tired. Can't believe how big she has gotten.
Hope your all well
Mo - with L I weaned at 5 months and didn't get AF until 12 months. Still waiting for AF to return this time around. I'm only 1-2 BFs a day now so expect that we'll be weaned in the next few weeks or so. Great effort on the BF. Hope you get better soon.
Gosh Saffi i hope it doesn't take 7 months to get AF back.
Thanks Saffi, I'm Kinda upset she weaned her self suddenly but i do enjoy having my body back :)
I got AF back when Tahlia was about 12 months I think, but I was still feeding then, so I'm not much help to you Mo, Sorry! She finally weaned when I was about 7 weeks pregnant with Lewis
Julia - so its Yules is it? Are you getting a new Av?
Kellie - love your new av.
Feeling like cr@p. Still getting over this cold. Both kids also have it so we are snot-city at the moment. M is constantly rubbing her face on my clothing. I'm sure I'm walking around work with huge boogers hanging off me.:cold:
Saffi - That's it....Yules! That is what DH calls me! I used to babysit a little boy who used to call me Yule and that's where it started! I asked for an av at thes ame time as my name change but it hasn'th appened yet.....I'll have to check up.
Hope everyone is well (and you are on the mend Saff)....I have a major nipple cut at the moment which is my only complaint! Bl00dy hurts let me tell ya! Darcie did her first megga sleep stretches last night so that was nice, and Max is being such a gem! I am loving all of it!
Kodi was dancing this afternoon to the new Usher song, she was spinning around in circles when she tripped over feet & hit her forehead on the corner of the wall.
1st i thought she just knocked her head, but when i picked her up blood was pouring of the cut, she had blood all over her face, on her clothes, on my top & all over the tea towel. It was horrible!
She was lucky & only needed it glued together & bandages put on. We go back in 5 days to get re checked.
Poor Kodi. You might remember that something similar happend to L not so long ago. Shame that such a happy time ended with blood and tears. Poor Mummy too.
Julia - see you got the new av. Good to see Charlie in there too.
Nothing much happening here. Went shopping at Myer yesterday and bought heaps of clothes and toys for the kids. Got M some cute little dresses. Got to stop dressing her in L's hand-me-downs or she'll ebd up a tom-boy (no offense).
Have a good weekend everyone.
Poor Kodi :(. How is she feeling today Mo?
Saffi - I love Myer sales! I have to get to our local one this week.
Julia - Love the new avvy! How's Darcie going?
Hi to everyone else! Thought I'd just pop in quickly to say hello, I'm still alive LOL!
School holidays have started so I have Joel home for the next two weeks. It's going to be cold and wet this week so I think I am going to have some stir crazy kids at home! K is going well, he loves dressing up as Spiderman atm, so cute! Still won't TT :(. I bought him Toy Story undies which he is very excited about, but he won't/can't use the toilet. I keep persisting, but he's never been successful once. I don't know what else to do! I know he'll get there eventually though so I'm trying not to stress.
Alana is 10 months old now and is lots of fun :D. I posted footage of her "dancing" on FB the other day, but it was the same day that Julia Gillard became PM so it didn't get noticed haha! She loves music and will automatically dance and bop when it comes on. She has learned to say "woof woof" now, so whenever she sees/hears the dog she crawls around barking .
I'm getting over a cold I've had for the last 2 weeks, I am so sick of getting sick! Bring back summer someone!! I can't remember if I said previously that we are going ahead with our caravanning trip to WA in September/October. Alana is getting heaps better in the car so we've decided to go after all :). We are going to be doing some trip planning today, I'm getting very excited!
I hope everyone is well! Have a great weekend :D
