I had lost this thread!!! Where is everyone!
Kaz & Saffi...nice Avy's ladies....grrrrrrrrr!
Mo - Cool that you could see Ange before she goes to PnG....I hope it goes OK there for her...it's tough being an expat, but she's definitely a strong woman with all she's been through huh! Wow Kodi's birthday in 19 days huh! Can't believe where the time has gone!
Max has been talking up a storm lately....has started coming out with things like "I love you Mum"....and "You're gorgeous"....I'm loving that as it's totally unprovoked! What every woman would want to hear! He's also started to say things in the proper context now....like yours, mine, no you, no me...etc etc....it's happened so quickly! I can't believe it!
Kellie - Where are you and how is your preg going? You're next mate!!!!!
Kaz - How's your family? Hope your baby blue is doing better x
Nic - Congrats on your new jobbie - Good on you after being No. 1 out of 65 applicants :)
Trish - Good luck with K's appointment and hooray for A moving forwards now! We sacked our agents TODAY and they didn't dispute it...SWEEET! So happy!
-
hi everyone
apologies from me too for being so slack!
Nic - congrats on the new job!
Trish - glad to hear all is going well with you. Good luck at your appt at the RCH
Mo - glad to hear all is well with you too, I cant believe its almost K's 1st Birthday!
Julia - I agree how much fun it is when the little ones start really talking! Its so funny some of the things they come out with
Kaz - hope everything is going well with your family, especially your latest addition!
Saffi - yep, I am still working, just 3 days a week but its really taking it out of me! I'll be finishing at the end of the month, I cant wait! T is going to stay in day care 2 days a week once I finish though, which I think will be good for her
Trish/Mo/Kaz - anyone going to the meetup on the 13th?
AFM - feeling a bit sad today, one of the other girls in my belly buddies group just lost her precious little man, its made me feel so lucky to already have T and too have a healthy bub growing in side me, so there will be no pregnancy whinges from me today! Less than 8 weeks till I get to meet my little man! I cant wait to see what he looks like! Hopefully he'll look a little like me seeing as T is a spitting image of her daddy
-
Mo - Lucky you getting to say goodbye to Ange! Where did you meet up?
Julia - Aww, Max is so cute saying he loves you! Woohoo on sacking your agents!! Ours are so slack it's frustrating. Our tenants have just announced that they've bought a place of their own and will be moving out in April. They were such good tenants so it's a real bummer! They love DH because he is always quick to go over and fix anything that's broken, etc. He plays Wii games with them while he's there too . They invited him to visit them at their new place, awww :)
Kellie - T definitely looks like her daddy! Hopefully you get a look in this time LOL! Both my boys look like DH, Alana looks a little like me thank goodness! Sorry to hear about your belly buddy, that is so sad :(.
I'd better get off the computer and have a shower! I have to shower in the evenings these days because there's no time to have one in the morning. I miss my morning showers!!
Night all :)
-
Aw Kellie - that is so sad. I know the feeling...someone in my BellyBuddies group lost their little one too (but obviously not as late as your friend). It certainly made us all stop and think about what we had. It was hard coz conversations virtually stopped.
Trish - Sounds like you could manage it on your own anyway considering your DH is the one that goes and fixes things! I think Agents are more trouble than they're worth!
-
Thanks Trish for restarting the conversation! I love the avvy too! The dogs are on the couch just like they are IRL.
Kellie - I kept L in daycare while I was on Mat Leave. He really does enjoy it and its been good for me to have that time with M on her own.
Julia - I wish I looked like that IRL. We noticed L's vocab exploded over Xmas. He's always asking what things are if he doesn't know the word. He's now able to count to 10 and is starting to learn the alphabet.
Nic - congrats on getting the job. When do you start?
Trish - hope you get some good news about K's legs.
Mo - I look forward to seeing the photos of K's birthday. What's the theme?
Hello - to everyone I've missed.
All is going well here. M has been a bit off with teething (2 teeth are through and another 2 are nearly through), and got a viral rash. She's close to crawling too. Sleeping is still an issue. We have finally finished her room so tonight she will sleep in there. Hopefully within the week she can move into her cot. She starts daycare next week - 4 days a week. I go back to work in just over a month :(
L's good. He had a haircut on the weekend. MIL does it and usually does a really good job. This time L was wriggling around and making it really hard for her. Anyway DH takes to him with the scissors to fix up a few uneven bits and took a big bit out of his hair. My poor boy! Moral of the story - I'll never let DH cut his hair again!
-
So my family and I look like movie stars in our new avi ... I feel a bit embarrassed! :p
Saffi - OMG .. I can't believe you almost have a crawling baby and you are close to going back to work soon! Two big milestones, how you feeling about it all? I keep looking at Luka and thinking SLOW DOWN in the growing department. Since he is our last, it would be nice to enjoy the moments and not see them flash past our eyes like they feel they are already!
Kellie & Julia - I know what you mean about being sad regarding fellow BB losing their bubs. We just had a girl in our group lose her baby at 8 days. It breaks my heart and I just look at Luka and the girls and think how lucky and blessed we are to have them in our lives.
Trish - I know what you mean about having no time for something like a shower. 3 hours goes so quick between feeds, tell me where the time goes? By the time you feed, burp, change, put back down it is time to do it all over again. I am struggling with kindy drop offs and pick ups and have more than once called my DH for a quick trip home to help me out!
Mo - Sounds like things are going great for you with Maddi and K ... I can't believe it is nearly birthday time. Time just flies, especially once you have kids!
Nickers - Congratulations on the job, you have done well when there were so many applicants! When do you start?
Amber - All going well, I will do a bit of a catch up with life of the family in a sec. You sound really busy. We have Tay in our bed the last two nights as well, she got better and now we seem to be back to square 1. She is a shocker to sleep with as she wants the WHOLE bed. Like you I have sore bits from being a contortionist! As for Flynn you sound like you got a good one there! I had the good baby with Mia and Tay has been my cryer and bad sleeper! When are you going back for No 3?
:hello: to everyone else I have missed!
So life with us is going ok, just a lot busier! We had a Child and Youth Health check up yesterday. Luka is doing really well and is now 4560grams and 54cms long. I am surprised at how he is thriving considering how sick he has been. He has really body blocked/snotty/runny nose. Now he has developed a cough as well. We took him to the gp and she was really worried about his breathing, as he was working really hard. They sent us to Monash and he got a good going over, a chest xray and it all come back clear. The doctor is thinking he has an allergy, but there is nothing they can do for him at this age. We just need to continue with the fess and aspirator. I think it sounds like it has moved down to his chest now, he has a really loose kind of cough. I feel so sorry for him. But even though it is making feeding etc hard, he seems happy enough. He watches us all the time and looks for us if someone else is holding him or he hears one of our voices. He loves tummy time and moves his head around and pushing himself with his legs. So cute.
My health is finally a lot better and I feel really good. We are going really well now actually. Having a few dramas with a very boisterous 2 year old, but I think it is just an age thing! Hopefully she gets over this phase soon! She is just so BUSY and really LOUD and gets into EVERYTHING !
Mia is doing well at kindy and asks to go every day. She is a very good big sister to her baby brother, but still gives Tay a hard time. Go figure? They mostly play well together, but still fight and I think it has more to do with Mia trying to be the boss and Tay refusing to let her be. Happy days.
Anyway better cruise, shower whilst Luka is sleeping! We have kindy pick up in 2 hours.
x

Trish we meet up at the play centre at Hallam :)
Kaz nice to hear your all doing well, Sounds like Luka loves his bottles :)
Saffi can't believe M is almost crawling, Sleep is all over the place with Kodi so i know how you feel.
Kellie that is so sad, i can't imagine how heartbreaking it is. Really makes you thankful for what you have.
Jules Max sounds so cute, Maddi is a real little chatterbox. He new fav thing is "Kodi stop being naughty" cracks me up everytime.
-
kaz - that's great that you are both doing so well. I have to admit feeling a bit sad that M is no longer the "newest model". I am even having trouble remembering the last 6 months.
Mixed feelings about going back to work. On one hand I will enjoy the variety of the working day and having adult company where I don't talk about sleep routines, nappies and poos (no offence LOL). But on the other hand I will miss seeing my little girl every waking moment, my occassional daytime naps and all the TV shows I've become addicted to LOL. It would be nice if I could stay at home a bit longer, but I can't so I just have to get on with it.
Mo - we actually had a good sleep overnight. It was the first night in her own room so I was a bit nervous how she would go. DH dreamfed her before he went to bed and I was up to her at 4am and gave her another feed, we then got up for the day at 7am.
-
Saffi - D'oh at the haircut! DH did Joel's last haircut and it was slightly dodgy too LOL. Luckily it doesn't take long to grow back ;). Make sure you keep your DH away from M's hair or she'll never forgive him .
Kaz - Wow, you've had a bad run of it! I'm so glad you and Luka are doing well now .
Mo - Heehee @ Maddi saying Kodi is naughty!
I've re-opened Round N Round properly this week after taking mat leave so I am busy taking photos of new stock, etc. I hope I can keep up with everything!
Last night I put Alana on the trampoline and she was crawling around everywhere like a pro! It must be the right kind of surface for her LOL. I took some footage of her crawling this morning and posted it on FB if anyone wants to see :). She can actually do much better than what I filmed her doing, but it's cute all the same!
Glad to be chatting with you all again :D
-
Where is everyone? Hope everyone is ok.
Things are going well here.
M started daycare today. I took her in after her morning sleep and settled her in and let her carers know what to do etc. I was a bit teary when I left her but better than I thought I'd be. I was at home for 3 hours before I got the call to come down to the Centre and get her. She was inconsolable and no amount of rocking etc was able to help. They even brought L over to try and cheer her up! That ended with both of them in tears. Anyway we'll do short days for a week or two until she is more settled.
L is going well. He is still TT. Has a few accidents at daycare and we don't even try to put him in undies here. He just doesn't get it. Oh well we'll get there.
With my free time I will be doing house stuff. Only got through half the ironing before I had to go back to daycare (that's a pity LOL!).
A friend of mine had a baby girl this morning (a week early). She was suppossed to go in for a c-section next week, but ended up having to have an emergency one instead. Another friend is 5cm dilated with twins so expect that she will deliver in the next few days. So this week I'll be visiting new bubs in hospital!

Hi all! I took K to the RCH yesterday to get his legs checked out. The Dr just wants to monitor them every so often, but there isn't anything that they'll do at this stage. He seems to think they'll straighten out over time. His left leg is nearly straight now and his right leg is out 17 degrees which is an improvement from last check. His right foot is curved in which is what makes his walking look funny (and so cute LOL).
ROFL as I'm typing this, I just got a reminder SMS from the RCH for yesterday's appointment
Alana is now crawling around everywhere, it's so cute! She loves being able to go where she wants, luckily she doesn't go too far yet. I have to be aware of what the boys have left lying around these days though!
Joel is still having fun at school and learning lots. I'm enjoying walking to school each day, it feels good to get out.
Saffi - I hope M is getting a bit better at DC, it must be stressful .
Anyway, gotta run, Alana has just woken from her nap. Hope you're all well :D
-
Hi everyone
Trish - that sounds promising about K's legs. As you said already an improvement so seems like it will come good on its own. Congrats too on A's crawling. M is only days away from crawling too.
AFU - M is slowly settling into daycare. Yesterday I went in with her, fed and settled her to sleep before I left (was there 2 hours)! She stayed there for 6 hours in all. Today I was there for only an hour to feed and settle her to sleep. Got vacuuming and washing floors to do today :( so I don't want her home too soon.
L and M go to the same daycare, and as L's playground overlooks the carpark he often sees me coming and going. Today before I even saw him I heard him crying (as mums knows her kid's cry) and as much as I tried to sneak past he saw me. Then of course I had to go visit him. He didn't want me to go and then I felt really bad when I had to leave. BTW - he was crying cos the carers told him off for hitting another child.
Anyway, best get started on this cleaning before I have to go back to daycare.
BTW - my friend's twins arrived yesterday. Certainly a baby boom around here at the moment.
-
Hi Girls
trish That's good about K's legs.....hopefully they will right themselves. At least you're on top of it now just in case something needs to be done. I could imagine it would make him walk so cute! I saw the little Vid on FB of A....And now she's OFF! That has gone so extremely fast! Why does time have to fly like this! Soon our Octobubs will be getting drunk and we'll be picking them up from parties!
Saffi Hopefully it won't take long for M to settle into daycare. Geez...I take Max to a playgroup here and i'm THERE the whole time and he doesn't let me go....it can be very very frustrating! All I want is for him to explore and play (and so I can have some social time too with other mums) but it just doesn't seem to happen. I have to be there ALL the time. What a shock he will get when Blobette comes along.....
Which leads me to ask.....are there any things I can do to help prepare him for this baby....there really isn't that much time to go. He will play by himself, but I have to be there, he is pretty demanding of me. Would rather play with me than by himself....i'm getting scared! He still seems to really dislike chaos (like too many kids and noise at the playgroup we went to this morning) and prefers more one on one kind of play where it is quieter.
Kaz How are you going? That is so sad about that girl in your group losing their baby at 8 days. Was there something wrong? It's the kind of thing everyone would dread. A worst nightmare come true :(
I found out yesterday that I have borderline Gestational Diabetes (so not the full blown thing) and have to control my diet. I had to be re-tested with Max too, but was OK. I have diebetes in my family so wonder if that is a contributor? I'm a bit devistated....I've so been craving sweet things this pregnancy.....no more now! It's so bah humbug! But probably a good thing for my body in the long run anyway!
Well hope everyone else is going well...
MWA and HUGS
-
Julia - thats no good about the borderline GD . I know that women who have GD have greater chance of getting diabetes later in life so if there are any lifestyle changes to be made now could be a good time to do it (but I know you are very healthy normally). In the end you can only follow the advice of your Drs and trust that everything will be okay. My neighbour gave birth last week and she had GD which needed to be controlled via insulin.
I'm not sure how much preparation you can do with a toddler for a new baby. I know at daycare they have some books that they read to the kids to explain things but it sounds to me like you are more concerned about Max having to take (temporary) second place to the baby. In my case DH took over primary care for L in the first few weeks and of course L continued on at daycare.
-
Julia - yeah he was not producing enough of something and it made him really sick, he just went downhill. SO very sad.
Hope everyone is well, I am slack lately just don't get around to do much including posting in here. SORRY. I had my parents here for the past week, we caught two shows, Mamma Mia and Jersey Boys. Both were really good, I even got to a movie. But in getting out so much I am really keen to spend time just as a family. I miss doing that so much when there is so much going on.
Girls are good, maybe coming down with something considering they both slept for over 2 hours today. Luka is also good, nose is better but has a rattly chest. He seems happy enough and is eating like a trouper. He is a big boy already and we have moved in 000's. He is so long and I think he might be a big boy like his Daddy.
Anyway better go and get dinner going. So cannot be bothered but we brought lunch, so cannot be 2 naughty. DH is at work, hopefully he is home soon as well.
Hope everyone is well, chat soon x
-
hi everyone!
Kaz - that is so sad, I dont know how you would ever deal with something like that
Julia - bummer about the GD :-( I'm also interested to hear what others think about preparing our toddlers for new bubs, Tahlia tells everyone their is a baby brother in my belly, but I dont think she truly understands what she is in for!
Saffi - glad to hear M is slowly settling in. I remember how hard it was with T in the begininning, now she absolutely loves it!
AFM - not doing too badly, hoping the next 6 weeks goes quickly! Had an ob appt last Thursday, my belly is measuring 35 weeks! eek! I think I'm going to have a boofa! She also mentioned that we can possibly try some natural induction methods a bit before my due date, as I am really anxious about having a westgate bridge baby after having a quick labour with my 1st. I stupidly didnt ask what that meant though, so I am taking a list of questions with me to my next appointment!
Tahlia is going well, keeping me busy, suprising me daily with the things she says, but I absolutely love this age!
Anyway, better go, hi to everyone i missed!
-
Kellie- not long to go now! Nix bday is the 17th so you could go on his bday!
i dont know what i did with Nix b4 ty came along other than explain it over and over that the baby was in my belly and would soon be born. he was only 18m though when Tyron came along so still a baby himself.
-
Kellie - what hospital are you going to give birth at? 6 weeks not long now, time flies when you are not the one pregnant!
