Thankks LizzysMum!
i am ecstatic!!!
Good luck today Kim with your appointment too!! Let me know................
Oh Becky, that is fantastic news! I am so happy to hear Chelsea is fine!
Good luck today Kim!
Great news Becky, am very glad to hear.
Kim - good luck with your appt today
Wow Viv - James had a great sleep, definately brag-worthy!
Has anyone found a good breastfeeding dress that would be suitable to wear to a wedding? There are heaps of gorgeous maternity dresses out there but I can't find a nice nursing one... can anyone recommend a label or store??
Great news Becky :D
Maddi had her vacinations today, My poor little girl.
It was horrible watching her cry/scream, Broke my heart.
Glad it's over with for 2 months.
Fantasitc Becky, great to hear!
OK, lunch for me now, post more later
Bec
congrats becky. babies are amazing things! she knew what she was doing, just needed a bit of time huh?
lily - i'm not looking forward to the vax day. i'm already a sook ... keep us posted on how maddi goes day to day since having the shots. i'll be curious to hear how it affects her sleep/feeding/behaviour etc.
kate... i have managed to feed in a shirred top dress. yanno, the wide elastic part that goes over your boobs a la 1970s. there are loads of those around. you could dress it up yet a flop a boob when necessary.
Becky good news for both of us then :D
Miss Jasmine had her check and the nurse said all is perfect, creases now line up and nothing to worry bout. Now just have to work on the flat head she is getting cos she favours one side!!
Jas is now 56cm and 4.5kg....so a 1kg gain in 4 weeks. Always going to be a petite little thing. Average for everything unlike big sis who is ALWAYS under average!
No worries about the mis-understanding Catherine.
Well done James on the big sleepies!!
Mo vac's are horrible things....Chels has her 12 month ones next week and most times they cause bad reactions...and being older she is more aware of needles! Happy to report she never had reactions to any of the vac's except 6 month ones.
Thats great Kim - We both need to do some celebrating LOL. What happens with a flat head?
Mo - My DS was perfectly fine with all his vaccinations. Hardly even cried for any of them! And never got a reaction so I guess every baby is different!
Flat head is from her sleeping on one side no matter how much i turn it. It corrects itself over time. Basically cos their skulls are so soft it goes flat. Chelsea had a flat side...but as she has grown its starting to go round again, cant notice it as much now she has hair. Sometimes it can get bad that babies have to wear helmets so reform the shape of the head. Jasmine favours the oppsite side to wat Chels did..LOL
I think if it keeps up i might seek advice from an osteopath (sp?) my friend recommended. It could be that her neck muscles are a little tight, hence why she always turns to one side.
thats great news Kim & Becky!
I got my SS pressie today thank you very much! I wont reveal who its from but i knew because i drew the SS, but she put in a pressie for me, Tyron and Nixon which was very nice! Not going to open until xmas morning if we can hold off!
Ive had a shocking day today. well i started at 6am with intentions on leaving the house at 9.15am
i did no house work just getting me and the boys orgaised. I still didnt get out of the house until 9.45am to go to the meet up. My pram had its 3rd flat tyre in 6months and i stopped at a servo it pump it but didnt work. Then i got myself TOTALLY lost and left my steet directory in DH from the weekend! Luckily Kate & Claire helped me find where they were because i was just about to turn around and head home! Had a nice meet up and Claire & I took the kids to the park, got home and was dead to the world put Nix straight to bed but Tyron woke.... there goes my sleep time.
I let the events of the day get to me and had a little break down but when DH gets home im going to go do the grocery shopping just so i can have some time out! (if u can call grocery shopping time out!) just about every time ive gone out so far i have had a shocker, i dont know if i just need to chill out for a bit and not attempt it for a while or keep persisting because it cant always be like this can it?
Nixon got a bit of flat head but it got better once he wasnt always on his back and he could sit etc.
Osteopath is a great idea we saw one for Nix which helped for his reflux also. if a baby gets a really bad flat head sometimes they have to wear a helmet so it can have time to correct itself.
Maddi is doing fine now, all happy think her legs may be a little sore but that's it.
Think it effected me more than her lol
Kim glad to hear Jasmine is fine, good weight gain :)
Yay Kim! I'm glad to hear Jasmine is doing well. I agree, an Osteopath is a great idea just to get her checked over. I took Joel to a paediatric chiropractor when he was a bub and he was the one who discovered his shoulder was out.
Nic - Don't be so hard on yourself! I am so impressed that you are attempting to get out and about with the two boys by yourself! I haven't tried yet, apart from supermarket shopping or MCHN check ups. I think it all just takes practice trying to co-ordinate everything. It sounds like you were off to a bad start anyway with the flat pram tyre and your missing directory, give yourself credit for actually making it there eventually!! Enjoy your little time to yourself later.
Becky - wonderful news about Chelsea!!!
Trish - very well said about the crying/settling issue. Totally agree with you on that.
Nickers - What a day! Glad you made it in the end.
Looking forward to Brissy/GC meet up tomorrow!! xoxo
thanks guys for all your support! Im just so happy today! LOL :)
Well I am ready for the met up for tomorrow!! Nappy bag is packed and sorted, milk expressed hopeing he will take the bottle tomorrow like he did on saturday. Not sure what I am going to put on Rhys tomorrow.... I have ironed my clothes to wear tomorrow!!
So all the details are meeting at 10:30 at the Hyperdome Piazza outside the cinemas!! Is that correct??
amelia, sounds right to me, just look for heaps of prams. is catherine getting there earlier being that somehow she was nominated as coordinator of our meetup:) i think we are all so excited!!!
i cant wait
Nic - glad you persisted and made it today, it was great to finally meet you, Nixon and Tyron!
Hope all the Brissy/GC gals have a good time tomorrow
Hayley has a bit of a flat head and i now have to turn her on one side when I have her in the pram or she is sleeping during the day, which she doesn't seem to mind thankfully. Hopefully it will sort itself out soon.
well i think i finally have her asleep so i'll now organise myself some dinner... DH is out tonight so i just have to fend for myself
another hint for the flat head,
babies like to look at light, or face towards it, turn your cot too face the window the way you want them to look. might help??
hey thats a good idea Kate!
hope the brissy girs have a great day tomorrow gosh there i a lot of you!
couldnt be bothered dong the grocery shopping tonight, too nakkered. Maybe i am trying to get out of the house too much too soon? I dunno i just dont like staying at home all day everyday but when its such an ordeal sometimes i wonder why i bother.
Hi girls!
Have just uploaded the pic of us with santa in my gallery, Have cropped cause my big belly was very distracting!ha!
Great news for becky and kim! Bet your both relieved! So glad your bubbas are well!
Well cant wait for tomorrow girls! Will try to make Myles look spunky for the girls!
Have to go Americas next top model is about to start!
See some of you tomorrow! Hope everyone has a good night!x
Just a quickie as DH is demanding my attention lol!... See if I can remember what I wanted to say...
Um... glad to hear about all the bubs doing well and the good news!! Kim, Becky & Viv, and any other happy mummies I missed!
Viv - no worries, I have another friend who has a friend who might be interested in the pump too, waiting to hear back from her. So will hold off posting on eBay for now. Will let you know if/when I put it up. If you wanna - email me: petachristy@gmail.com and I can email you the link!
Swimming (Pish, I think?) - I would wait until after the 8-weeks vacs... there is a great ante-natal mums & bubs aqua class run at a physio centre near here - bubs have about 10-mins nursery rhyme activity play in pool, then get put int he prams and 'nannas' around to help look after them while mums do 40-mins aqua exercise class. CHN said you can't join the class until after 8-week check = then is all aok for bubs to go in the pool :)! I'm not sure about Kaylee though as she has very, very sensitive skin, worried about the chlorine!
Kaylee is having her 8-week jabs tomorrow - I'm not looking forward to that.
Oh, and my little princess graduated to the big cot yesterday and seams to be sleeping better now!
Better go, don't need a grumpy daddy!
Hello all
Becky and Kim - great news about your girls. That must be a load off your minds.
Flat head - L's paed suggested that I alternate the end of the basinette/cot that he lies in. That is sometimes place him facing one way and then next time facing the other way. I do also make an effort with how I position his head. I have noticed that his hair is a little worn on one side more than at the back or the other side so need to ensure I change his head position a little more.
L was unsettled today. His 2am feed took until 4am to settle him and then he was up again at around 5am. I was able to get him back to sleep after a feed just before 6am and we both went back to sleep until almost 9am. He was put down at 11am and DH looked after him while I went out. Got home at 2pm and L had slept the entire time! So, when I tried to put him down after his next feed, he was really unsettled and no matter how many times I burped, changed, fed, patted him he would keep waking up. He has just gone down but took a bath and another feed.
We actually went out for tea with L last night. We went for a walk and thought we'd see what happens. He was quiet 'tho not asleep when we got to the shops and cafes so we thought we'd get a drink at a cafe. When he actually went to sleep we took the opportunity to grab a meal. He was pretty good for the majority of it and only started to grizzle right at the end. For next time we will know to keep it fairly short.
We're looking forward to seeing all the mummies and bubs tomorrow. L has chosen a little outfit and I need to do the same. See you all in the morning.
We're doing good here! TJ is a pretty adaptable little guy...second child syndrome and all that! :)
I counted the other day, and we were in and out of the car 14 times, and fed more in public than at home.
My big boy is 4 1/2, and time cant stop for Theo the way it did for him. Even if he is tired, unsettled etc, we still have pre-school, playdates etc to do. Poor bugger!
Even though I don't get the chance to post much, I just wanted to say I do enjoy reading all your news, and am glad all the mums and bubs are happy and healthy.
Nothing i try for Jasmines head works....but as with everything..ill persevere....im not all that worried.. Chelsea had the same thing and as i said..she is fine now.
Glad the Syd girls had a good day... cant wait for our Vic meetup! Can some one please remind me about it the day before!! I know this week is goin to be hectic with the travelling and im likely to forget the details by next week!
oh boomba, cute as photo, im gonna make craig be in on ours now!!
Hi girls, Sorry I haven't had a chance to read all the PP's yet, will come back this arvo and catch up. Just wanted to pop on and say I'll see you guys today... MissKate, Coordinator? I don't think so, I just thought we'd get the ball rolling otherwise it was going to another one of those things that didn't happen. I'm sorry if you have felt I have been bossy with it all! :)

Well I feel like crap today, last night she just didn't want to settle after each feed, oh and she threw an extra feed in too. By this mornings early morning feed I was having trouble keeping my eyes open... just trying to settle her now for another sleep - then I'm going back to bed!

Air conditioner getting installed this arvo - yipee!
Nevermind Kim went to the Fountain Gate & got her pic taken with Santa, so cute.

We got them at FG last year.
Good luck today Peta.
That's ok Kim :) We got the Santa's Special pack, it's good how they develop them straight away.
That was a whole lotta reading!
Too much to comment on..... :D
Good to hear everyone is well. Great hip news all round.
Someone asked about accomodation in Melb- there is a motel called City square motel. It is definately no frills and on the cheaper end of the scale, i havn't stayed there myself but MIL stays there often when she flys over. Not sure about suitablitiy for kids either. However it is located right in the centre of the city, public transport everywhere. I would suggest using the wotif website, but i guess with kids and all you want to plan further ahead than 2 weeks! Sorry i can't remember who asked?!
Queenscliff was great, (drove around Mo- took the camper trailer, they charge an arm and a leg with a trailer on the ferry), saw some great music, Lu was loving her first festival, kicking back in the sling sleeping most of the time. I was worried about the mossies but managed to keep her from being eaten alive.
Got all crafty at a GF's yesterday and made a christmas decoration for Lu. It's an fairy and i embroidered her name and 2007 on it. Dorky i know, but i am a mum now! lol
Well off for my walk, been in the car too long this am. Hope you ladies had a lovely meet up and that someone took a photo to show us all! :)
Oh, meant to ask, leah which liners were you using? I have some eenes and some other brand, but wanted to try the natures child ones. Eeenees seem a bit rough?
becky and Kim - thats great news about Chelsea and Jasmine, so glad to hear it
Trish - well said on the crying issue, we all have to figure out what works best for us, and stick with it! After all, every bub is different!
Great Santa pics ladies! I can't wait 2 get mine done!
I felt like a very bad mummy yesterday - yesterday morning Tahlia was crying and she had been fed, burped and had her nappy changed, so I tried putting the dummy in, which made her gag and cough, and then she spewed everywhere. After blaming myself for the spew for a few hours, DH convinced me that it wasn't because of the dummy, she was probably crying cause she had a pain, so I believed him. Then in the afternoon we went shopping, and the same thing happened, so I put the dummy in, and the same thing happened! I felt so bad! I want to throw all the dummies in the bin!
Hey everyone!
Sorry I didnt make the meet up today Brissy ladies. DH had the day off so we decided to take the kids to Shorncliffe. We dont get too many days off together so when we do we like to make the most of it! Hope you all had fun and I will DEFINATELY come to the next one! Better make it soon.......
Love all the santa pics, will definately be getting some done in the next week or two
Kellie - don't feel like a bad mum - I know with Hayley i've tried a few differnent brands of dummies and she really only likes the Avent ones. The others make her gag as i think they are way too big, even though they are newborn size and end up getting spat out (she has a very unhappy look that accompanies the rejection) Have you tried any other types/brands?
