Babies Born October - November 2005 #23

Our final inspection for the house has been booked in for next wednesday and all going well handover of keys etc will be on Thursday 20th yay I am going to be so relieved when all of this is over. I am sure i will find things wrong with it once we move in, most new homes hav teething issues but looks good so far. I just hope our building inspecto friend can come this time, he is getting a lot more notice so it may work out ok.

Neil told me last night, as an afterthough - I cant belive he didnt ring me at work as soon as he found out!

Rachael - Thats great news - How exciting!!! I can't imagine how great it will be moving into a brand new home!! I'm sure everything will be great!

All good here...Ethan slept in his bassinette the whole night which was great...I'm not waiting for him to wake up again...gosh - I don't ever remember waiting for a baby to wake up - it's so crazy! My boobs are killing me though and I've got lumps galore...
The housecleaners here so I've had a bit of time with the boys which has been really nice...I think they've needed that - especially Louis- I sat down with him before and read a whole lot of books while Michael took Dylan to bunnings...What a juggling act it's going to be giving time to them all in these early months! I'm really enjoying it all though and no baby blues just yet! Not sure what another few of weeks (months?) of sleep deprivation will do to me though...LOL! I'm sure I'll lose my mind when Michael goes back to work anyway...

lol it think it was just the 2 sausages and rolls, and the can of sprite that did it, but m/s is still around, somewhat improved lately but heartburn is on the increase :)

Rach congrats on the house being nearly ready thats excellent news.
Krisite sounds as though Michael is being a huge help, good on him. Glad you are getting some rest in aswell and try not to over do it, its so hard I know. Dont stress about Louis tantrums, Jordan did some awesome naughty things for 2-3 weeks after Liam arrived, then he calmed down.
Nikki did you find someone to have the kids?

Well work was ok today, 2 more days and then its the foxtel family day at luna park, should be awesome. I hope there is stuff for Jordan to do there.
We have Liams godfathers bday tomorrow so its off to their house for tea tomorrow night.

We got our new couch tonight! It looks sooo good!
Had friends over for dinner (pizza!) which was great for a catch up...Both very clucky - hopefully it will be they're turn soon for a bubs...

Well, Ethan woke for a feed as soon as I wrote that last night -LOL! So no early night for me...although I did get a sleep in!
Michaels taking the boys to his brothers for a visit today and picking up my new treadmill - woohoo!!

Ethans a bit unsettled this morning - might have something to do with the pizza I ate last night? Although, I got it with no onion I think it still had garlic on it...whoops!

Krisite, might be the pizza? They are all different but Milo was not good with garlic or tmato, i had to pretty much avoid italian!

I had my midwife apt today, all good. BP a bit low. We also decided that i will be refusing a late u/s for sizing only, she said they will try to push me in to one when I have my booking in appt at hospital cos of Milos birthweight, but we're happy that I can have a big bub so its all good.

Glad your appt went well Rachael! Good for you refusing a scan! They love to intervene these dr's! As you said, you've done it before so all should be fine!

Avoiding italian food will be an impossibility for me considering I'm vego and thats pretty much all I eat - LOL! He coped with canneloni the other day so should be right hopefully...he's asleep now so we'll see how the rest of the day pans out...he copes really well with my milk actually...after having Louis who spat it out all the time cos my let down was to full on and then Dylan who just threw up all the time Ethans just doing really well - he only feeds one side at a time though which they all did as well to start with...better to have too much milk than too little I suppose...LOL!

Its pretty quiet in here lately! Obviously we aer all busy bees....

TOday we spent the day at fountain gate and i swear its the hugest shopping centre on earth, i never get to see it all! I got the girls hair cut though so cha doesnt have her mullet any more and tori can actually see again.
They have been feral today though and tori didnt go to sleep tonight untill 11.30 which was great fun- NOT. They are worn out from 2 days at child care this week though!
We have hired a skip for the weekend so we can get the garden sorted out which will be lovely and i have a friend coing to visit tomorrow- a guy i went to school with and havent seen in ages but have been chatting on facebook. He lives 50/50 between melb and perth so he is a hard one to catch up with but tomorrow is the day finally!
Ok -should get some sleep!

Much better thanks Cindy - and tears avoided! Louis and Dylan donked heads and Dylan ended up with a blood lip though and he had been sitting in a poo for a while...Luckily I had just got Michael up though to deal with them as it took me a while to settle Ethan...he's gone 4 1/2 h without a feed now though so we're going to have to wake him...I swear I've never had to wake a baby before...LOL!

Hey Krisite did you end up waking Ethan for a feed?
I never woke milo foa feed and he stared sleeping in 4-5 hour stretches from a few days old. But maye cos he was a bit bigger they werent worried (I was told not to wake him)

Okay I have a questions for you guys, how do you fit a rear facing capsule/restraint and a toddler seat inthe car at the same time?

I really, really dont want to have one on each side, i want the capsule to be in the centre position - is this goingt o be impossible? I'm winning to get a different child seat for Milo if I have to.

racheal,yes you can do it,its a bit sqishy when putting it in but it does work.
sorry i have been MIA,i was actually reading and tried to post a few times but something was wrong with my account and i couldnt post,kelly has fixed it,for some reason i was locked out.
thankyou racheal and cindy for you offers of help,i sent a message out to 11 people for babysitting and no one replied....asss hols.that included family.you 2 were so lovely to be willing!
we did go out.tahlias mum bec had the babies and the boys eventually found a mates house to stay at.
we left at 1pm sat arvo and went straight to the hotel,we got ready there and then caught a taxi to rocky horror show which was fantastic,i nearly peeed my pants it was soooo good.i highly reccommend it girls,then we went to the spaggetti tree for dinner,it was a great night and the dr,s spoilt us rotten,the whole night including hotel and taxis only cost $180.we went back to the hotel for a good ole time and then slept in till 9.30 am which was bliss.we walked to the vic market and had a big breaky and went shopping,we came home at 12.30 sunday.

my car has been running very hot,above the red so took it to mechanic on friday and they couldnt fix it,so i can only do really short trips until they take it again teusday,they need to pull it apart again to find the prob,
kristie are you home wednesday,i thought as long as my car is fixed i would pop over for a visit to meet little ethan and drop off body shop money and pick up enjo.

cindy me and grant would love to spend a night or two at hervey bay in feb and we wanted to know if you and al would consider having the little ones,it is a big ask i know but i just know they would be relaxed and happy in your company.what do ya reckon?

Rachael - I went in there and he was stirring so got him up...the only reason I'm doing it is because he was feeding every 2h over night and then sleeping and going 4h+ through the day...something that needs to change for my sanity! LOL! We got the dummy out last night finally cos he was unsettled..surprised I got through 9 days without it - LOL!
When the midwives came out they did tell me to wake him if he went too long because at that stage his nappies were a bit on the dry side because my milk wasn't in properly...

Re: the car seats - I had them on either side of the car...now we've got them on all 3 seats! LOL! I've always had the babies on the side...Louis is in the middle now cos it's easiest for him to climb in. How big's your car? We've got them side by side now but it's a bit of a pain to get Louis strapped into the booster...

Nikki - Your weekend sounds fantastic!! I'm so glad you managed to get out and have a great time! What a bugger about your car...Yep - we'll be home on Wednesday if you get it sorted by then...

We had Michaels brother over yesterday for a visit but I ended up having a snooze! Was sooo tired and then went out for dinner for my Dads b'day...the boys did really well considering it was a late night! Thankfully Ethan slept quite well last night after initially being unsettled and the boys slept in until nearly 8am!
Quiet day for us today...I'm still in my pj's - Ethans been unsettled again this morning...Chat later!

Kristie, I have only got a little corolla so I really dont think I will be able to do it in my car, but in the neils car (commodore station wagon) its probably do-able.

We are trying to plan a weekend of camping somewhere feb/march next year - nothing rough or anyhting, would make sure we were in an onsite van i think! Is anyone keen to join us??No idea where yet either but figured somewhere like venus bay where its quiet but there is a beach!

Well, my girls are sleeping so i think i am going to try to have a nap too!

Camping sounds great Cindy! We're looking around Feb to hire a house I think...with the new bubba I'm not that keen on having the kids all in the same room as me - LOL!
We went to Phillip Island last year and it was fantastic...not sure we're we will go next year...Phillip Island is only an hour away from us now so we may go somewhere different - although it is a great place!! We paid $450 for the whole weekend and that was between 3 groups so was super affordable!

sorry I have been MIA I just havent had time to get online. Xmas party on sunday was awesome, the kids were so well behaved. Jordan had a ball on the carousel, we went on 3 times. He went on some of the car rides like at the shops, he wasnt tall enough for anyothers. He saw Santa and got a toy truck ( neadless to say he was thrilled) and he sat on santas knee with Liam so we will get a photo of the boys (BONUS).

Nikki so glad you had a great night out. You and Grant are most welcome to pick our brains about Hawaii we love the place so would love to tell you all about it. Maybe we should do dinner one night and we can catch up and give you some tips.

Rach We have Liam on the side and Jordan in the middle. I didnt think you were meant to have the capsule in the middle??? Its a tight squeeze if someone else gets in the back seat but that doesnt happen often. How did your app go? is your student midwife nice? I would love to tell you about Hawaii too, its an awesome place.

Krisite I am so glad to see you are doing well. I think not camping this year is a good idea. Stay in luxury whilst you have a newborn.

Cindy going away over xmas sounds nice. I love caravan parks could never camp though, so cant rough it. LOL

student midwife had to cancel one of her mums went in to labour!

kristie,i will message you if my car is fixed by tonight,they have given me a 4wd to use but he has a big car fridge on the back seat for camping so i can only fit one car seat in,chantelle can only go on a little trip to shops etc without a seat.

as for managing my BP, they arent, well not really. I have been told its normal for it be be lower than normal in early pg (my bp is usually around 110/75) and also at the end? I remember with milo at my last appt is was 90/55..

Yeh so they said not to worry about it, but I've been told my someone else to try to drink more fluids as this could help, and maybe I need to eat more? But I'm drinking 1.5~2L a day already and my pelvic floor cant take much more

I really dont know what else I can do so any ideas would be appreciated!

The other things she mentioned is that they (DRs at my booking in appt) are likely to take one look at Milos birthweight and start talking early induction or late u/s to check size. At this stage unless theres another medical reason I have decided i dont want either, so will tell them no u/s after my 20 week uinless its indicated by something else. not induction before 42 weeks unless its medically indicated. I really, really like her and she has been very reassuring that i wont end up on my back like last time, even if I have the crampoing again there are alternative options.

Well we have our final inspection at 4pm today for the house. the site supervisor rang last night and asked if we could change it to tomorrow, becuase none of the works has been done yet and its not happening until today and tommorrow!!! FFS, its been over 2 weeks since our first inspection. Neil say no, cos we've arranged a friend whos a buiding inspector to come with us. Most of the issues we had are with painting anyway, so I'm not as worried - I really want him to look at the more structural things I was worried aout that I feel have been fobbed off by the SS. So wish me luck.

Oh an nikki - i *will* need a plasterer some time soon, we need to know out and move a wall that they refused to move for us. Aoparently I asked them a day late :(

With all this stress I had expected my BP to be high, so not sure whats happening!!

I hope you guys all have fun at the zoo on the 7th. I really wish we could go, I kow DH would prefer it to hanging around with my work colleagues, but Santa has already bought Milo a present so I felt bad cancelling.

Not sure about Christmas lights for us this year, the house is sucking all our money out of us. Im expecting a call this morning form the bank to tell me how much moula I will be up for to break my fixed loan and go for variable. I am hoping against hope that I can afford it. It will suck my maternity leave money dry if I do, but I should still be able to have at least 6 months off, and I know in the long run its the right thing to do if we can afford it and it will take a lot of pressure off, and mean Neil can stay home with the kids (lol he thinks he can handle it, we shall see)

the 7th will be fine for us too, shall we work out the details of where etc closer to when we know what he weather is likely to be doing????

Well we had lunch out with friends today. They both have baby boys born around same time as Liam. It was nice to catch up, the boys are SO cute. Also did MEGA clean up around house, it was pig sty.

Tracey - my midwife is Karina, I havent met her backup midwife yet she told me her name but i can remember! lol but it wasnt one of those, p\rob. cos my appts are in seabrook/pt cook - i think it depends where you go, who you get.

Cindy, not yet but its on the cards, i want to see how much its going to cost us to break first, then I will know whether we can afford to or not.

Howdy. At my Aunties place using her pooter. We moved in on Thursday, have about half ofthe stuff moved out of storage, not all unpacked though.
We wont have a phone connection until December though, no no internet til at least then!
Well, Milo has christened the new carpet already, he cameand woke me up this morning, nappy in hand - "i did a poo mummy - its EVERYWHERE!' Im glad the carpet is brown, at least i got it out and it wont stain!
Neil was sooooo mad though!

What a weekend! We were up at Bonnie Doon for Michaels Dads b'day...is a much bigger trip now taking nearly 2 1/2 hours!! Boys did really well though and had a ball up there! Michael took them for a ride on the 4 wheeler today and they loved it!
Otherwise we've just been busy looking after everyone! LOL! Ethans doing really well and is already lifting his head up during tummy time! I've had a great 2 weeks spending lots of time with him while Michaels been at home. I'm a bit nervous for tomorrow as he's back at work but I'm sure I'll manage...Luckily he's been sleeping quite well at night and at times unsettled through the day...I still can't believe how well he sleeps though...I also can't believe he's over 2 weeks old already! The time has flown! He's such a gorgeous little boy...

I am having dramas with geting people to have the girls for my tupperware parties at the moment, mum and my sister are useless to me and everyone else is so busy! I have a party this coming sat and at this rate it looks like i will be taking the girls with me!! Cant see that working to well!
