Hi everyone,
Jo: It is very quiet in here. I do read the posts regulary but sometimes find it hard to sit down and write. I also have had to do the control crying with Madeline as the only way she would sleep was if i held her and that was getting really tiring and time consuming. I generally let her cry for about 2.5mins at a time and then go back in and settle her. I still rock the basinet a litle too but try not to hold her until she is asleep. I have found it helps also. She still sleeps in our room but i think we will eventually bring the cot into our room as her room is so far down the other end of the house and i wouldn't be able to hear her. I feel that if you have to use a montior all night you might as well have them with you anyway. We might just place something in front of the cot so that she can't see us, as i have heard that if they get used to seeing you all the time when there in their cot then its harder to eventually settle them into their own room. So she will be able to hear and not see. Maddy sleep pattern is the same as xavier's, sleeps for about 45min at a time after eat and play and may have a longer 2-3 hr sleep in the day also. She is still going to sleep between 9:30pm and 10:30 pm and waking at around 6am-8am. I am very lucky. I was expressing in the night though but some nights i sleep straight through so my boobs arn't getting too sore anymore.
I went and saw a LC at the Royal womens on Wednesday for a day stay and they observed how maddy was feeding, bacause i have been having trouble feeding sitting up (we feed by lying down). Then the little bugga feed perfectly for the whole day. She is getting better so cross fingers it will continue. It difficult to go out and feed cause i need to lye down all the time. Anyway the LC assessed my thrush again and gave me some different cream to use, hopefully that will help. We have had thrush for over 2 months.
I am so excited  as i have now fully BF:bfeedpink: Madeline for 3mths. YIPPEE :dance: After having so many problems at the beggining i am now so glad i persited and got through it. We are even trying to wean of the milk supply tablets. WOOHOO.:hooray:
Well i hope evryone had a lovely Christmas with your new buddles of joy. I did. But i'm glad its all over. Can now assess the trashed house, clean and get back to reality.
Hi to everyone else, i'm sure your all reading just not posting. Would love to hear how some of you are going.
Cheers

Hi Lisa,
Welcome to our very quiet thread. Good on you for sticking with breast feeding. It certainly isn't easy.
If you want to put a ticker up and photo the best way to do that is to click on someone elses ticker who has a photo and then follow the promps. You will then need to transfer the final product into your settings for ticker. Under user profile i think. So basically copy and paste the relevent data. Hope this helps.
As for Maddy and i we are doing well. Its so hot at the moment in Melbourne. Another 43degree day. This whether is expected to continue for a couple of days. At the moment Maddy is asleep with a wet flannel on her head. We have no aircon (its waiting to be installed) and the current temp in the house is 32 degress. eeekkkk.
Maddy is nearly rolling over now, she goes half way, from her back to nearly her belly. She is putting everything and anything in her mouth now and loves to roll around on the floor playing with her jungle gym. Very soon we will be putting her in the jolly jumper we brought her for christmas. I think she will love it.
Anyway how is everyone else? We still need more posts. Love to hear what your bubs are up too.

Sorry I've not been in here for ages.... we're going well here. Xander just had his four month shots this week so has been a bit unsettled, but I'm loving the smiles & giggles.
I've just started researching highchairs, trying to decide what we need... gosh they grow so quick!
Hope you're all well. Oh and I've updated the list of births below - let me know if there's any details wrong/missing or just need updating. Welcome to the new ladies, look forward to getting to know you all :D

Hi everyone,
Just a quick message letting you know that I'll try to get on here more often and to touch base on how Loralei is doing. I haven't been on here for months so we all will need to be reaquainted. ;)
Loralei has a cold at the moment so we're not getting much sleep here as she's keeping me up coughing and crying. I'm off to the doctor tomorrow so hopefully we'll see an improvement quickly:pray:. The coughing is brought on by her not being able to breathe properly though her nose and last night it sounded like it has gone to her chest a bit. She's sleeping at the moment, quite peacefully.
Loralei is moving about quite a lot. She rolls around all over the lounge room and has made a few appearances at the kitchen door to find me. I caught her day before yesterday twice up on her knees so crawling won't be too far off I don't think. Time to re-babyproof the house again. She absolutely adores her big sisters, her face lights up when she sees them and will make funny noises at them to get their attention. She's grown so much since I was last on here weighing around 8kg and is in size 00 and some of these are straining in length and width. Loralei hasn't taken to solids very well yet. I've attempted every second day without success, she just doesn't seem to know what to do with it yet. Her mouth will open but the tongue pushes the lot back out over and over again.
Anyway, I've got to get lunch for DD2 and myself.
Bye for now,
Cathy

Loralei is all healthy again. My dr checked her thoroughly last Friday and said just to keep an eye on her temperature but everything is fine now. I had the booster shot for Whooping Cough while I was there. Has anyone else had theirs done?

Hi everyone,
I haven't been in here for ages. This thread hasn't been moving very quickly so i haven't missed out on much.
Maddy is doing really well, rolling around everywhere, i don't think it will be long before she is crawling. Sometimes she gets up on her knees and rocks a bit. She has got her two front teeth, they came at about 5mths, i didn't even know until they appeared one day. She had no grizzling from them, but now i think they annoy her. She rubs her ears alot.
She has began waking in the night now (she slept through from 4wks), and i'm struggling to get her out of the habit. Its making me really tired and i don't know what to do. Last night she fed at 6pm, went to sleep at 8, i woke her for a dream feed at 10:30pm, she woke at 2:30am for a feed, 5:15am for a feed and was then awake for the day at 6:30am. I've posted in another area of belly belly to get some help and so far there has been a litle.
We went to swimming yesterday and she loved it. I dunked her head underwater, she got a little fright but was ok. I'm hoping to get her into lessons soon but i can't believe how expensive it is, they want $62.00 a month. Is it worth taking them to lessons when they are this young?
She is now weighing 6.2kg, so quiet little. she hasn't gained much weight in the last 2mths but te MCHN wasn't too concerned as she looks healthy and isn't under weight.
Curl: we are not having much sucess with solids. i'm not sure whether to persist or just stop and try again in a week or so. She is very interpentent and loves to put the spoon in her mouth herself, so i am going to buy and food holder, that you put food into a net and they suck through it, its a bit like a dummy with a net on the end. She tried one yesterday with banana and loved it.
I better go Maddy is crying, hope to her from you all soon.
Love Angie

Hi Ladies,
i hope you don't mind if i join your thread, i've been lurking around bellybelly for a while now but hadn't noticed this was here!
Riley was born on the 18th of September after a spontaneous 4 hour natural labour, he was in a hurry! he was 2.8kg and 49cm.
We had a bit of a rocky start.. bf troubles, tounge tie, reflux and all the normal newborn first baby things, but there just babies right? thats what they do.. all has settled down, he is a very happy calm little boy. going great with he solids, loves food! two little teeth and commando crawling- think i might have my hands full!
i hope that you and your bubs are all well,
xjo

hi girls!
been a while since i wrote... been so busy with Shayla. she is totally crawling everywhere... she started at 5 and half months. she is standing up when holding furniture and is just now trying to walk around the furniture. no teeth yet, but they must be coming soon, cos she gets grisly every now and then, and bonjella helps :)
hope everyone is well! will write again soon i hope.

hi everyone,
oops I've been meaning to post for ages!
Fatguts - welcome to the thread, we've been a little slow moving, but it seems that things are picking up! Riley sounds like a little champ, great he's going so well after a rocky start.
Tazzy - Wow Shayla sounds like she's motoring along! My Xander is showing absolutely no signs of crawling yet teheh. He just got his first tooth yesterday!
Oopsadaisy - we're with you on not taking solids well. X is a big boofer at about 9.4kg but he doesn't like solids much either. He loves to stick out his tongue and just let all the food fall/dribble off! It's very funny, but means he doesn't swallow much. I'll be interested to see how you go with the net thingo. Those bad nights sound awful too! Fingers crossed they improve for you.
Curl - don't think I've had a booster for Whooping Cough done... shall have to check into that.
gobblygook - any teeth yet?
Chris - oh gosh I told you about it, then haven't posted for ages, oops! Hope all is going well with you and your beautiful bubba girl.
We're going ok here. My DH did his back about 3 weeks ago and hasn't been able to do a thing... eeep! Now i know just how much he used to help around the house! So it's been a bit busy, but I've got mum visiting from interstate (arrived yesterday) so that's making a big difference. Plus X cut his first tooth yesterday and has been very unsettled! Hopefully it'll settle down a bit now!
Cheers,
Belfie

Hey everyone
Been a while since I last posted. Not sure what has got in the way to stop me but life is racing by far too fast. Cant believe our babies are 6months old now.
Xavier is still breastfed and not interested in solids. I have given up for a week or so of trying as I was fighting a loosing battle of him pushing it all out with his tongue. I am still up at least twice a night feeding him so could really do with him having something else to eat to fill him up but he seems very content on just the milk otherwise.
We are house hunting at the mo in Brisbane and its a nightmare. So many FHB's to compete with the market is so inflated we are going to wait. Now looking at house and land packages too. We have to beout of our rental end of Aug so a little time to play with.
We are using MCN's too and I am loving them. So wish I had discovered them when I had my daughter. She is in them now for bedtime pants. So I have moved away from disposables totally now.
Best go as loads to do while little man is having his morning nap.
Have a happy easter whats left of it.
Jo
