Hi, just a quick one from me. Ashlyn had her first sleep over last night. Went so well, Ashlyn hardly noticed when I arrived to pick her up! Was good because I was able to relax and enjoy my night out seeing the Phantom.
Isn't funny how their weight changes? Ashlyn is 8.4kg and 67cm. She has put on 400g in 3months but grown 5cm. She is losing a bit of the chubbiness and I've been able to keep using some nappies that she'd nearly grown out of.
Going to be offline for the rest of the week, so have a good one!:D

Tenille, I let my mother and stepfather look after Matthew for two and a half hours while I was at the hairdressers so that I could have highlights put in my hair - much needed as last highlights were done before Matthew was born - and I was a ball of anxiety after one hour, lol. Well done, Ashlyn, on letting your mummy have a wonderful night out.
Was planning on going across to Griffith today to buy a high chair, bed rail and bath mat (for in the bath) but Matthew is sleeping and the morning is getting away so looks like our trip will be tomorrow to make the 3 hour return trip worthwhile. :p
Any suggestions for a high chair? What's everyone using? I was looking at the Choice recommendations and in the threads here. I think I may end up getting a Fisher Price space saver one that sits on the dining chair and also the Love n Care Futura.
-
Kerry - we got the love'ncare techno, it;s height adjustable and we really like it. Good to hear that Mathew weights around the same as bella cause I was a bit worried that she weighed too much. Oh boy does my back and hip feel every kilo of that weight too ;)
captain - wow, a sleep over, that sounds bliss.
-
aww Lauren poor Liberty :( Silly Ants! Re the car, Jaidan didn't like being rear facing, once he was FF he was fine! I think he used to get car sick. I hate sitting backwards on the bus so I can understand.
EEJ I hope you have a lovely trip! You will be fine :)
Sue tiles would scare me!!
Captain that is great!! It's nice to remember that your you and not JUST a mum :)
Kerry I just use the cheap mothers choice one from Kmart. He will only be using it for 6 months or so until he sits at the kids table.
Well we went to Launceston and had a BALL. My bestie Katt looked after Ashton a lot while I went out and did things!! She even looked after him for a whole night (with some EBM) while I got... a ... little... drunk... and made a fool of myself! haha https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...8&ppuser=16531 Ashtons latest cuteness trick... can't believe he is 6.5 months already... where did the time go :(
-
Thanks, Mel and Sue for tips re: highchair hunting! Mel, I'm just amazed at how advanced Ashton is - he is awesome!! Sue, yes, our bubs are a good size considering we're such shorties! I'm glad that Matthew's unlikely to be a little titch like me but is going to take after his father in the height stakes. Well, I hope so anyway!
Here's a snapshot of what it was like 41 years ago: I've been looking at my baby book (after blowing the dust and cobwebs off it, lol) and my mother had me on full strength pasteurized milk for all daytime feeds when I was three months old. :o The comment written next to it was that I "didn't take much at first" and "disliked the bottle at the beginning". I'm not surprised,. And my mum had me started on rice cereal when I was two and a half months old and tinned strained mixed veg when I was three months old.
Makes you stop and think, doesn't it!

Oooooooohhhhh, guess what girls, Bella slept through the whole night last night. Oh gosh, it was pure bliss, cept for the fright I got when I realised what the time was when I woke LOL.. she slept from 7pm to 530am then had a quick bottle and settled back in til 7am. *sighs* the lord heard my prayers. I was getting so over having crap sleeps, the pg was awful and I never slept and it's just me looking after Bella. Shouldn't really complain cause she's always been so good and never had me pacing the floors at rediculous hours. LEts just hope this is the start of lots of long sleeps and not just a one off.
Kerry - PML about yr baby book, that explains why MIL and my mum always nagged me to feed bella so early and get her off the boob. definately has been some changes along the way in how we look after bub's. Not sure how long bella is, but I reckon she will just be short cause df and I are both really short, I am worried though, df is quite solid and all of his 3 kids are really big and I mean huge, his DD17 was a ladies size 24 at the age of 13. How;d u go with extending yr maternity leave?
Mel - wow, a whole night out, that sounds sooooo good you lucky thing. It's good that you have such a great network of friends around you and I'm still jealous that u live in tazzie, it's mine and df's dream place to live. We holidayed there a couple of years ago and just didn't want to come home again.

Hi Ladies,
We arrived back from our two week trek around SA, we had to do 2500km's for our lease car so was a forced holiday, it was really lovely never been there before. Madeleine did really well in the car, we travelled on average 5-6hrs a day with a 2 night stop over in between so we are really happy at how she handled it.
Madeleine hasn't been weighed for a while but I know shes growing a lot as shes in 0 clothes, we have our nurse booking at the end of the month. She cut 2 teeth together on sunday & besides a broken nights sleep of pain for her she did really well, so much beter than my first who screamed the house down for days :) besides that she has a bit of travel sickness but is doing well.
I'm trying to catch up on reading so will pop back in again. Hope everyone & bubs are well

(((((((((((((((((((Hi)))))))))))))))))
Kerry, I would recommended the ikea highchair, plain and simple, cheap, easy to clean we wish we had'nt bothered with a you beaut fancy pants one.
Sue, gee that is really big, is she still that size.... Why is DP on your case re weight loss?
Candy Jay, sounds so good, everytime we think about a holiday it all seems too hard... we keep saying when Poppy is a bit older????
missymoo, a girls gotta let her hair down now and again, what a great friend to do that for you.
Captain, nice that Ashlyn was so good, hope you get more nights here and there now you know she is going to be easy.
indie, next time you come down to Morwell let me know (if you have time) I am only 10 mins away and would happily meet you for a coofee at Mid valley or somewhere!!!???
Me:Poppy is still just rolling from back to tummy, although today in the pram she was arching her back and pushing with her feet, if she does that on the floor she'll move and might get the idea?:rolleyes:At the moment she knows all she has to do is lock eyes with whoever she thinks is the most vunerable then grin from ear to ear and it means she gets picked up.
Still no teeth???? I thought they were coming weeks ago (throws her hands in the air) Going well on her solids, I only mash her things so they always have some lumpy bits and she is really good with it. Next weigh in she will have put on heaps I can see her getting chubbed up. But has weaned herself fully now:wall: so sad, but my best run with BF so far, now just waiting for AF to show up for the first time since gettign BFP, not so excited about that. Getting her injections done tomorrow, she missed out 2 weeks ago because she had a cold, talking about all things cold and flu. Anyone else thinking of getting their little one the flu shot or had it done??? If so how did they go, I want to but feel a bit nervous...
Anyway off now, got to get to bed.....I will be so tired in the morning.
-
Good girl, Bella!! I bet you enjoyed that sleep, Sue! :D No big all night sleeps here but Matthew has just cut his third tooth, top front left, and the top front right is about to join it which explains our restless nights lately. So back to lots of drool, comfort feeding and Bonjella at the ready.
I know, the baby book makes for great reading. :p Things were so different back then. There's a page for formula feeding where the choices are lactogen, liquid lactogen and pelargon, with columns for the mixture including SUGAR!! And I see my mum was adding two teaspoons of sugar into the pasteurised milk for each feed. Last night, when I was talking to her on Skype about it, she was: OMG! I don't remember that!
As for the mat leave, I explained to my boss that I'd been a bit naive thinking I could go back to work full time at the end of April. They accepted my request to extend my mat leave so I'll be returning to work on June 1. A little more time to prepare Matthew and get him on to solids, etc. Still going to be hard!
Wow! at your DF's DD17 being in size 24 at 13yo!! I can understand you being worried. How's Bella going on the charts?
Welcome back, CJ! Sounds like a fantastic road trip. Is your nurse appointment at the end of March or April? If Madeleine's in O size clothing, she must be around the 9kg mark too.
Posted the same time as you, Pam! I think Poppy will be getting mobile very soon! But lol at her grinning at her handmaidens when she wants to be picked up! How much do you feed her each day? I'm trying to gauge how much I should be giving Matthew. I'm not sure about getting Matthew a flu shot but I'll be getting one for me. I'll have to ask the local doodah GP about it. Is the ikea chair you're talking about the Antilop? There's no ikea store remotely close to here but I've been looking online.
Off to Griffith tomorrow now to buy that highchair, bed rail and sundry other baby items! Hoping for a better sleep tonight!
-
cj - whoa, that's sounds like an awsome trip you had there. That'd be something Bella would like, she just lurves sitting back in the car watching everything.
Pam - Yeah she is still that size, maybe bigger actually. Don't u worry, I always throw her weight back at df when he has a go at me. LOL, I have actually bought a couple of things in size 12 this week, yeeeehaaaa. No teeth here either , and Bella has really started to get herself around the floor now by just rolling, so cute. Bella likes lumpy food too, most of the time when we are out and having something to eat she tastes everything we have - little porker.
Pam - have a safe trip today. Aaah, that's great news about extending the maternity leave. My MIL told me she only ever had the boys on cows milk with a few drops of pentavite, eeeeekkkkk, maybe that's why they are all so damned short.

Hi girls,
We are having a nice time in SA. I had super bad gastro and was so sick on monday. Thank goodness my aunt is so good with Emily and just took her as DH had to leave us that morning. OMG I thought I was going to die!
Emily was 8.5kg and 71cm at her 6 mth needles I think she is bigger than that now tho. Will ahve to weigh her when I'm home.
Yay for Bella's sleep sue!
Kerry- How did the shopping go?
Pam-Sad Poppy has weaned, I am still pumping but am really thinking its near time to stop esp after the gastro has really hurt my supply.
CJ- wow that's a lot of Kms good on Madeleine for doing well
Hi everyone else..just a quick one today. Laters
-
eej - oooooohhhh no, gastro, DF was so ill last week with it, I was spraying glen 20 all over the joint. MIL came over this afternoon and she looked bloody terrible, I reckon she will be megga sick tomorrow.
Wells, we are off to sydney for the weekend. Was a quick last minute decision as we have finally found someone to work for us.... it's only taken almost 2 years to get someone PML
Have a great weekend.
Oh, Arabella slept through again last night, god is was gorgeous....the rain on the roof and cuddling under the doona.

Hello :D
its been to long i fell i havent been on in ages
how is every one doing,
Eireann is still small I think any way LOL she is still in 00 and is taking to weaning to solids very slowly she is haveing major sleep issues Im so tired with her, she is so hard to settle and is waking lot during the night, I mentioned it on the August thread already, I dont know what to do with her at all. I dont know if its wind ! she has only started sitting up on her own the last two weeks very cute and I dont think she will be crawling any time soon she hates being on her tummy she starts to panic and throws her arms out :D but is just so cute when she catcher your eye she gives a big grin and wriggle and even puts up her arms so very cute. I just hope I can get her down with out a struggle the way she is now there would not be a hope of getting out in the evening to a movie with DH I wouldn't leave her with any one it would be torture for them.
Nicamber well done Bella on sleeping through the night do you think she could have a chat with Eireann and tell her how to do it LOL. that's great you getting a way for a weekend long over due for you .
Pam how are ya hun Ive been thinking of you now im back on my weight loss journey and you did great with BF be proud :D
sorry I haven't been on Girls its better here I know who every one is on Facebook I'm trying to remember who's name goes with Belly Belly LOL
-
Yes Kerry thats the highchair, I suppose you got one by now though, but keep it in ind when you get sick of the other one:rolleyes:lol.Ours (you beaut one collects food in the crevices yuck!!! You realy notice whn DH steam cleans it!!!) Poppy has eaten pumpkin yummy, banana okay, potato okay but bl**dy fantastic with vegemite, avocado :pray:I am sure she is wishing she could have that all the time, farex of course and she has a brekkie of organic rice ceral with banana and mashed banana or the like, I would love to have a good look at BLS but have'nt got enough time to read more about it.
Sue Bella's doing well, I am happy that you are getting more sleeo. gastro stay away!!!!! it just seems to have a way at finding everyone, and sometimes a second time??? The hazards of having a larger family?i
My worst fears realized, lol at the Glen 20 I'd be the same.... Fantastic about finding someone have a lovely break.
Niamh, so nice to see you, Eireann sounds so cute we will all have to get around at putting some new pics in the gallery. Bad luck with the sleeping, :doh:I have'nt got any answers I hope it changes for you soon, she used to be good did'nt she?
eej, hope the rest of your holiday goes well, lucky in some ways imagine having to look after a baby when you are that sick, not to meantion the chance they might get it also!!!! Bad your supply has dropped off, but maybe for a reason, you have done a great :pjob, not many would have lasted that long, it must be draining, double the work.
Anyone else had trouble posting on here lately I often come on only to find I can't get in to places or if I can then can't leave a post??? Or just my sick puter?
-
Pam I dont think its your pc. I have tried to post in this thread several times but they just dont seem to stay. :) I will let you know when I head back to Morwell. It would be great to catch up :)
Eej I hear you on the gastro it is currently going through our house. Blah its horrible. I now know what its like to look after a sick baby while you feel like you want to crawl in the corner yourself.
Niamh - Molly still doesn't like tummy time but is slowly getting better. Now she turns in circles while on her belly which seems to amuse her for a little while.
Sue. Have a great trip.
Sorry this post is so breif. Will be back for more later :)
-
Sue you come to Sydney when I am in SA! Have a great time. Are you flying down? You never know we might pass each other at the airport on Sunday and never realise!
-
Just a quickie, gotta run and get df and head to the airport by lunchtime.
eej - hehehe, yep will be at the airport on sunday ;)
Pam - nope yr puter isn't on the fritz, BB has been driving me bonkers lately and it takes sometimes 4 or 5 times to get my post up - pita when I only have limited time.
donna - thanks, I am really looking forward to having a bit of a break even if it is only very short.
Niamh - :wall: now that I spruked on about bella sleeping thru she had a crap night last night, oh well, long as she gives me a night or two a week off.
K, c u all later. xx
-
Nice avatar, Donna! :D Now you've got me looking at everyone's avs... Pam, is that your new av? I don't think I'd make a very good detective or eye witness, would I!
WIsh I could get the Antilop from ikea, Pam! Shame I can't order one online, nothing on ebay either that I can pick up. Oh well! Despite that, shopping in Griffith went well - came home with the highchair at the top of the Choice recommended list, a Childcare Stella from Target for $159. I put the castors on this afternoon (what a pain that was!! stupid things) and fed Matthew in it tonight. Tried pumpkin (poison face), avocado on bread (which he normally likes but it wasn't going in to his mouth tonight) and organic rice cereal (got that down, with a bit of fussing). The only thing he really liked was me brushing his teeth. He just loves his toothbrush!
Also bought a portable booster seat to take with us to lunch/dinner on the off-chance that we might go out again one day  and a Thomas the Tank Engine jug for rinsing off the shampoo, as well as a bigger sleeping bag for him for the cooler nights. He just hates having a blanket over him.
Sue, hope you have a nice weekend away ;) It's well earned and long overdue! Is that a new avatar for you, too? I'm liking the wine and the rocking chair :)
Erin, how awful with the gastro! You poor thing! Hope you get to enjoy the rest of your time in SA. 71cm? Emily's going to be a tall princess!
Niamh, nice to see you on BB! I love seeing the pictures you've been posting on FB. Eireann is such a cutiepie!
