HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Belle and Kell, and their beautiful little girls.

For J's birthday, he is getting a mini trampoline, a pretend kitchen and a ride on bike thingy. (All from the target sale)

We are not having a party as such. Just family. But my mothers group is doing a KK amongst our kids too.

Maz - I had a really strange dream last night that I came a stayed with you, and there was a huge hurricane and we all had to hide down in a basement. How strange!

Caddie - Hope Millana gets better.

MrsT - Owie on the ear.

J has hand/foot/mouth disease atm. Not to pleasant, but doesn't seem to worry him.

PMSL - Meg I wish I had a basement, then Id have more room to hide material :ROFL:

Maz- The chair is really cool. The palm of the hand is where you sit and the pinky finger folds to make an armrest and the thumb is folded to make an arm rest. The three middle fingers are back support. It is covered with a pink vinyl material and the base spins. The main reason she is getting that though is because she has killed her fold out sofa and I dont really want her lying down to drink milk anymore.

Meg - I hope J is better quickly. What exactly does it look like?

Wow what great photos. A big congrats to Belle and family on the birth of Tara.

I couldnt get on last night so have been waiting desperately for news.

I went to the ob today. The twins are blissfully unaware of how sick I am. They are doing great. Yesterday when I was laying down I woke to a huge tummy spasm wher my whole stomoach moved. Well it turns out they have somersaulted over each other and are now laying both heads down next to each other. Ob pesrcibed me some more panadeine forte to help deal with the pain and to let me get some rest. Plus to eat heaps of icypoles and rest as much as possible.

I went to the gp this afternoon and am now aware of why I am in sooo much pain. She said my ear drum is bruised and has some bleeding behind it and looks as though it is about to burst. She said that she couldnt tell when of if it would burst, but it looks highly likely. She also said it will hurt but then bring heaps of relief. So I am feeling pretty sorry for myself at the moment,plus I cant hear which does help a bit with the kids moaning.

Marni - hand/foot/mouth is blisters in the mouth, with a rash on palms of hands and soles of feet.

Saw my Obs today. Have booked my 12 week scan. I really liked her and I feel really comfortable with her.

Glad that your Ob is nice Meg. How exciting, everything is starting to happen. Cant wait to hear how your 12 week scan goes.

Meg- I don't get to see an Ob til next Wed! I think going thru the hospital they hold you off, seems if you go see private Ob they see you earlier. So when is your scan? I'll have to get Ob to write me a slip for one Tues.

Thanks for my congrats too. 5w2d and counting! We move into the house on monday so should have net within few days. Have a scan on thursday, Im nervous and excited at the same time.

Shell-Hope all goes well with your appointment. Top I got from pumpkin patch, 2 for $50. I got a white one and a dark blue one. Mighty comfortable. Goes well with my pj pants, which I am wearing consitently when at home now.LOL. We dont get bounty bags down here in Tassie.sulk.......

AnnaT-Goodluck with the scan this Thursday. I hope you all settle into the house well.

I better go, ear is still really hurting. Both ears have heaps of fluid, the bad one is bulging, but the dr says it doesnt look like it is going to burst anymore, so I have to wait for the fluid to naturally drain away. So the dr says a more painful longer solution. I wish it had just burst.

Well yesterday ended up being a terrible long day. j had his op, and it all went well. It was day surgery as he had a discharging sinus and an umbilical granuloma. Anyway he was ment to be third on the list. But there were two kids the same age a J going nutso, so they bumped J down the list to last and did the op on the others first. THis was because J was so good an calm. By the time he went into surgery it was around 5pm. The poor thing hadn't eaten since 7:30 in the morning, and was chasing people around if he saw them with food! We din't end up getting home till about 10pm last night, and I was just so tired. I hadn't really got to sit down all day, and i just needed a rest.

Will get around to doing my birth story soon.
Labour was absolute hell. Worse than Jesse's and even longer.. 15.5 hours worth! compared to 11 hours with Jesse. So glad its over. If it wasnt for the epudural, id never be having kids again. Recovery wise it is alot better. I only received 1st degree tearing so am alot more mobile than i was this time last time.
But all in all, im so glad to have Keira finally here. She is so perfect and just melts my heart. Jesse has been soooo good. Im so surprised how good. He doesnt get jealous when im holding her. A few times he's wanted a cuddle from me while i was feeding her but he was fine afterwards. But is getting better with that every day.

Meg.. oh sorry you had a bad time at the surgery. Glad it went well though.

Helen.. glad to hear the twins are doing well. Oh love the belly shot too hun! Its definately coming along there!

Jesse's getting a lawn mower, a huge rescue truck thing that carries and has heaps of matchbox type cars in it, a bus and a plane (hes vehicle nutz atm), umm... a thing called a Video Now.. which is like a dvd player kinda.. but for preschoolers. Came with Dora, Sesame Street, Blues clues, Chuck the truck plus other dvds.. um.. not sure what else. But yeh thats most of his birthday presents.

kel - great to hear you're all settling in well with Keira. Sorry to hear you didn't have a good labour, but good news that you're having a better recovery. So do you think you'll have any more kids?

We're getting Nina a trampoline for her b'day. Got one from the Target sale, so have to wait till the end of Sept for it to arrive unfortunately.
Everything is going well here. I've had the flu pretty bad this week, and today is the first day I've felt good. So here's hoping it's finally going away. I think I've managed to keep it away from Heath and the girls. Well so far anyway.

Meg- Oh poor J, thats too long a day for you all. How is he recovering? I didn't even realise he was having it done yesterday. All that waiting is terrible, I remember when my nephew broke his arm and they couldn't get him in til near midnight to operate.

Kell- I hope my second labour is faster than my first! After Ash I was turned off labour for a long time! I'm glad tho that you are recovering well and sounds like all is going good. You were supposed to wait til tomor tho to have her so we could share a birthday!

Jodi- Glad to hear you're feeling better. Flu is awful. Hope your getting some rest.

Hi all,
J is doing quite well today, although has spent most of the day lying on the couch watching TV. Because of the granulome, he can't really bend over very well, so that is upsetting him a bit. His neck doesn't seem to be worrying him at all.
I have basically let him do whatever he wanted today. So he has only really eaten fruit. (which ios not a bad thing as he is a bit constipated after the drugs.) He also had a morphine chuck on the way home from hospital ALL OVER ME!! I didn't really mind as I knew he didn't mean it, and as he hadn't eaten, it was just clear fluid. He is upset with his teddy "Suzie" I think that he blames her and won't have a bar of her today.

I love Townsville Jodes although there are alot of er unusual characters up here lol And so many kids doing naughty things. Amazes me. Weather is fabulous, I love wearing shorts and summery tops. Cannot wait to move into our new house. Monday is the big day, not looking forward to unpacking but I was pretty organised with the packing so it should be relatively straight forward.

I was nice to DH today and let him buy a LCD big screen TV. I needed a steam mop for my tiled floors and we have been good about budgeting our money while travelling etc and I felt he deserved it seeing as Id been promising he could get one since Jett was born. So for $1090 we got a 81cm flat screen TV, a steam mop and an elec frying pan. Not bad eh :) So hopefully now nothing major will go wrong and involve shelling out $$$ so our savings stays healthy-looking. my worst nightmare. Now we just need to buy a used car for Ry to drive to work and back.

Meg, Im glad the op went well and big claps for you lasting all that time with a hungry toddler. I think I would have gone mad.

Hey girls just opinions on the KK regarding cost. Do ppl think $20 is reasonable? Plus postage or including postage? What do ppl think and what do ppls budgets think?

Jodi.. thanks hun. Um yeh i always wanted 3. If i didnt have an epudural this labour i would be saying a big fat NO. It was the best thing ever! No pain, yet still felt the urge to push feeling. So yeh next time ill be asking for one of those straight off the bat when it starts getting bad. Hope your flu is on the way out!

Shell.. oh i hope so for you hun. I dont hear many cases that the second is longer.. typical for me though! I was the same after Jesse's. Only reason i had another was because i couldnt remember it that well! But hun, worse comes to worse, have an epidural! Oh i wish i knew how good they were with Jesse's labour! Im so so glad i had it this time. But you will be fine im sure! No one is a bigger wuss than me ;)

I've always wanted 3, maybe even 4, but I think Heath is happy with just the 2. I don't feel I'm ready to stay I've finished having kids yet. I'm only 26, and obviously fertile, so I feel it's kinda wasted, iykwim.
I had an epidural with Nina, best thing ever! I was induced after my waters broke (labour didn't start), so my contractions were coming fast and strong. But with Emily I didn't even have the urge to need drugs. Even though it was a harder labour physically. Weird.

shell - I think we did $20 incl postage last year, which worked well. So that's what I put forward for this year as well. What does everyone else think?

I can't believe my baby will be 2 in 18 days :( I keep looking at her and wondering where the time has gone. She's such a big girl now. Talking heaps, full of character. She's even in big girl size 3 clothing!

anna - yay on the big tv! We have a big plasma, love it to bits! We do have nice weather don't we :D You wait till summer, Townsville will be 1-2 degrees cooler than Cairns, but it's still damn hot!

Kell- I had epidural with Ash and oh yeah best thing. I wondered afterwards why I waited so long for it! Next time I'll be asking on arrival. Ash was nearly 21 hours thats why next time I want shorter!

Jodi- ikwym, Df only wants 2 and says thats it, but personally I think its too early to say either way cause who knows in couple years or more things might change and I might get that need for another, don't think its something to just rule out.

Meg- Lol at J being cross at "suzie". Thats hilarious, better to be aimed at her than you. Glad he is recovering well tho.

AnnaT- Glad your liking it up there, you'll feel so good once you unpack and settle in. Are you going to try find playgroup or something round there?

I've had off day, bad headache and feeling so sick.

Shell - Re KK thing, I think $20 inc postage is fine. As for finding a playgroup or something, Im thinking about it. I know a group of girls up here (civilians and military spouses) who meet up regularly so hopefully thatll work out. All my experiences with groups of women have been pretty poor soooooo I tend to stear clear of them and look for a 3 or 4 friends.

Jodes - if I can talk Ry into 3 kids you could certainly do it to Heath lol

I agree with never saying never on how many kids youll have. As a teen I wanted 5. When I was TTC Jett it was 2. While pregnant with Ripley it was DONE DONE DONE. Now look at me :lol: Id have another one if Ryan would let me but he is 110% adamant that 3 is it. And I think its a sensible decision for our family.

Thinking of going to TAFE or Uni to start my nursing studies. Can always take bub along with me after s/he is born. Stressing trying to figure out if theyll take me or not with my 6yr old HSC quals.

Jodi, I know what you mean about it not even occuring to you to ask for drugs, both of mine were like that, my hormones just worked so well with Riv, I was in this 'zone' where I was so focussed and dealing with the pain really well. I think with Si, if I'd made it to the hospital I'd have BEGGED, but the pain was only so intense because I was doing all my dilating in 40mins or so! Ouch! :P

How's J's recovery going Meg? Lol at him being mad at his teddy.

Thanks, pretty low key birthday, might have to save big one for 31st. All this nausea annoying me so just had family over for BBQ, had nice day tho, got everyone to give me vouchers so have nice amount to get myself something nice.

AnnaT- Like Nelle said they should take you as mature age. Maybe call the uni and ask to talk to someone of what you need to do in regards to applying.

Tired tired tired here, was Ran's birthday on the 2nd (and I know that you're only a day after Shell, so not sure how I managed to forget!) so we had a super busy weekend.

Hey - did something cool at church today too - There'd been a party at church the day before or something, so there were some helium balloons around - after the service, I tied one to the belt loop at the back of Riv's jeans. So I could be chatting and tell where he was at any time, he's little, but if I saw the balloon bobbing into the kitchen or out towards the foyer, I could go grab him! Gave everyone a good giggle. :P I reckon I could use a helium balloon every week, it was SO much easier to keep track of him!

nelle - you do realise in order to wake up earlier, you have to go to bed earlier the night before!

I know how you feel with going out with the 2 kids. I do my best to avoid it. I plan all my appointments and grocery shopping for when either Heath is home (so he can either look after one of both girls, or come with me) or I do it when Mum is available. I have to go shopping today for a few things, so I phoned my MIL this morning so she can come with me! Slack aren't I.

It was so hot here last night. I had to strip into just my undies while in bed. Suppose to be taking Nina to swimming lessons this morning, but I just couldn't be bothered today. Still got the flu lingering around.

Hi girls Im back!!!

Good to see you all. Im doing ok just got come on Saturday and its been a whirlwind of feeding and sleeping, ended up with a migrane for 12 hours and rang the hospital and they said if it continues to go back in to see them, but am ok now.. Tara was feeding ok til 3am this morning when she decided she doesnt want to attach to my breast anymore and is refusing, every 3 hours im trying and trying and after 1 hour of refusal and then 30mins of refusal every feed thereafter until I am typing now I try so hard and she doesnt want to latch or suck properly so I keep trying but am seeing a Lactation consultant at home on Wed. I had a big meltdown in hospital on Thursday. My mum was feeling left out and all edgy and wouldnt tell me what was going on and then I had 3 grandparents there plus Julia and I was getting upset and argued with Mum I walked out of my room I was frustrated, Julia started crying and them Tara, my MIL was holding Tara and she got so angry with me she told me that my baby needs me to feed now come on. I was so livid I walked out and was uncontrollable, Midwifes all around me. Sent them all home. Told Hubby I didnt want to see anyone the next day, Mum just dropping Julia off to him at the hospital, then I call him at 11pm when I finished feeding Tara and he tells me his parents are coming to hospital im like WHAT??? so angry. Was crying again uncontrollably the girls in the rooms either side of me called the midwifes to help me, they hung up the phone told my hubby I had to go. Called my OB to find out if it was my medication that needed reviewing for Post Natal Depression and my OB said no she saw me today and I was fine on my own, its all the stress from the Parents/inlaws... So theres all my drama, things have settled down now I know what was wrong with mum we had a good heart to heart. I was worried about her.

Eek, :hug: Belle, what is it with people not respecting a new mum's space?! Hope you get a bit of a break and can see people in YOUR own good time. Enjoy your babymoon. :)

Belle- J was just the same with the feeding. You need to speak to the MCHN, and maybe get in to see a lactation consultant. I know with J, they were getting me to try and feed, and when he refused, I had to pump and then feed with a syringe. But that was just my experience.
It makes my blood boil that your family would not give you the space that you need. That becomes half the issue with maternal exhaustion etc, is too many people around.

Shell - Happy birthday for yesterday. You know i saw on Facebook that it was your birthday, and had all intention of sending you birthday wishes, then I forgot!

Jodi and Nelle - You are scaring me on the whole taking 2 kids out thing. I suppose J will be a year older than your kidlets though. Hopefully that makes a difference.

I too was the same with drugs with labour. I was almost like in a meditation. To the point that the midwives didn't realise how far along I was. I basically had a silent birth. I could be a scientologist!!! :) This wasn't deliberate. It is just what worked for me. I had a shot of maxalon as I was chucking early on, but that was it. I am definately not opposed to pain relief though. Will just have to wait and see how I go next time around. For us this next bub will be the last. It was a tough decision for me even to decide to have a second bub. I am very scared of the whole PND/anxiety again. In fact my Ob/gyn is sending me to someone later in my preg jsut to chat, so hopefully it doesn't happen again.

Meg- Thats sounds good, maybe just having someone to chat to to help with any anxieties might help avoid getting PND again. At least having been thru it before you'll know what t look out for and be able to get help straight away.

Nelle- Just PM me your address so I can get KK ball rolling. Love the balloon idea, might have to take one out with me shopping!

Belle- :hug: Thats awful, it does make me feel angry with all your family. They should know better, they should be giving you space and not putting themselves first. Sometimes I think to myself should I even tell ppl when I have the baby just so I can be left alone!

Jodi- God, I have to wear PJs and lots blankets to bed! Thats great tho that your family are so helpful with you getting out to get things done.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Df keeps teasing me if now I am 30 am I going to stop watching Neighbours and Top Model and watch more adult shows! As if.

Oh and I got a suggestion that for KK we could put our kids likes/ dislikes for present.

shell - my family don't help out much though. Mum works full time, as does my dad & mil, so whenever either of them has a day off (and spare time) then I'll grab them to help me with shopping or outings. Usually though I only have Heath to help me.

Meg - With J being older it should be easier I would think. But I don't know what 3 year olds are.

belle - I'm pretty sure the LC will be able to help you out with the attachment issues. It is very hard work in the early days of breastfeeding, especially with a toddler running around, but it's worth it in the end. I had a couple of issues in the early days with Emily, and the LC helped me with them, and within 24 hours she was feeding like a trooper. It now only takes her about 2-3 min to drain one side during the day!
How is Julia going with Tara? Probably in absolute awe of her is she?

Well I went shopping with MIL today to get some party stuff organised. She's making the cake, so we bought most of that stuff, and Toys r Us had a trampoline on special which I wanted, so I bought that too. We'll pick that up tomorrow.
And guess what Nina said to me just before ... 'Mummy, I'm hungry'!!! I could have cried, she's so grown up now.
