meg sending you huge hugs hunny, do what you have to...when i lost josh, i could not go out for months, as i might see a mother and a baby,or i would just lose it, so i thought it was easier to lie low, and it was a bit the same after lossing craig, its so hard to go out and see dads with there babys/kids, knowing that my 2 will never experience that sort of bond between their dads, so it is just easier for me, not to do what upsets me, but it must be so hard for you being pregnant, take time out if you need to and try and talk to people who will listen. good luck hun.
as for me, not much have shiat everywhere, have moved, and dont have time to scratch my butt atm, caitlyn is being an absoulute turd settling in, my mother is only up the road, and already driving me bonkers, but on a good note caity only needs night nappys now as she goes to the potty.
have a good one
Our Pead said if you child is scared shiat less of the loo to the point of doing what Mr J is then leave the seat down (lid and all) and sit him on it with his pants up...and just let him sit, even if you sit on the ground and read him a book while he's sitting on it. i did it with Wilhelm (dont you dare annalys this woman!!!) and it only took a week for Wilhelm to be able to sit on the loo without him screaming. Its ment to make him friendly with the loo and take away the fear of falling in.
Now Meg - I can understand if you need a break but dont leave us...we're all here to support each other and how can we keep an eye on you if your not in here.
I hope that my replies in the other threads weren't overboard honey...you know im here for you.
Chrissy - I cant ring you back hon....I dont have your new number :( but im home this morning
Helen - WOO HOOO 30 weeks hun..must finish of that order and send it for you to babe
Nelle - you still coming to the baby expo? Anyone else in Melbourne coming on saturday???
hello everyone else - not having a great time atm...Wilhelm is very much out of sorts (friggen full moon) but all the other kids are great. Ive noticed that Vy is back in size 1 pants cause of the no nappy thing. Just when Ive gone and bought her size 2 for summer...grrr.
Back to the grind...children to feed, me to loo and dress and a migraine to knock ont he head before saturday
Oh meg, please dont leave! I was feeling kind of the same, that ruby was way behind everyone else's child here but low and behold im not! Ruby screams and tells me "no mummy" when i ask and freaks out if she wets herself so i will be leaving it till summer until she can run round the back noody. She see's millana going and watches but she is stubborn! To be honest i was telling maz the other day my kids are quite the nightmare.Hubby and i dont sleep hardly together anymore because at least twice a night we are up to both. Thats twice each...We are so tired. They were easier as babies.Sometimes i think i must be such a wus of a mother because i give into them one minute and screaming at them the next.. I am so sorry about your cousin. If you want me to make anything for them i will do it. I do lovely memory boxes. I just remember another lady bought one when the same thing happened. Let me know and i will do it free. Just a thought...
Argghh my kids are fighting again....
I have an enyo party tonight too that im trying to organise, why do i do this to myself.lol
Hi everyone,
Thanks for your words of support. Feeling much better after a good nights' sleep. I also posted in the anxiety and depression forum and I think that getting it all out in writing helped HEAPS. Anyway gonna be more positive! No point in worrying about stuff that might not even happen.
Nice and sunny here. J is noit feeling 100%. He kept coming up to me for a cuddle, and rubbing his tummy. Anyway he chucked all over our bed Ewwwwww!
Anyone know if you can put woolen underlays in the washing machine??
Maz - Thanks for the advice re: the toilet, but I think I might just hold off for a few months atm.
Caddie - You must be exhausted! J often cries in his sleep that wakes me, but I am usually not having to get up.
Chrissy - I admire your strength with everything that has happened in your life.
Laurin - How much more study do you have till you have finished??
and to everyone else, Kell, Bea, Nelle, Shell, Belle, Jodes, m3g, thank you for your lovely words.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
:comfort: I thought I had posted but I didn't
glad you are staying meg, you kept me sane during my hiatus from this thread :hugs:
Meg - Glad your staying honey
Caddie - Honey, Ambah is, quite frankly, a shocking sleeper. I thought she was getting better, but nope. I can be up to her 6/7 times a night, and she does sleep better in our bed. Sometimes it gets to me (mainly when I'm exhausted), but most of the time I don't mind too much. One day we'll get there, I'm lucky to have had two really good sleepers with Bre and Litha, and Aaron doesn't mind too much if she comes into bed with us towards the end of the night (actually I think he likes waking up next to her and waking her up - if she's in a good mood anyway). I'm just focussing on enjoying this wonderful time I get to spend with her (well most of the time anyway ;)) and I know, logically, it won't last forever.
Hi to everyone else, yes, I've been slack, just busy and been sick. Gotta get moving, lots to do - love to all :heartbeat:
:hug:Meg, sounds like things are hard, but glad that you are sorting through things.
Maz-Cheers.
32 weeks this sat, c/s booked for 20Nov. Babies looking good, I feel like crap.
Helen, you are going to have your beautiful bubs before me, I am so excited for you, woo hoo!!!!
Jodi - I am doing a Bachelor of Commerce, this is the last paper, YAY, if I wasn't preggers I would be drinking a bottle of very expensive champers after I have submited everything on Friday, anyone, it is all good timing before this bub comes along.
Meg, so glad you are hanging around, just getting your thoughts out in the open really gives you relief doesn't it and knowing other people are going through what you are going through to.
Caddie - Rylee is still a shocking sleeper, what can you do......
Chrissy, great news you are now in your new house, hope your Mum can give you a hand with all the unpacking :)
Maz - hugs to you, bet your looking forward to Saturday!
Okay, hi to all, beter get on with life.
Laurin x
woohoo helen!! Bring on the 20th November!! You must be so excited.
meg - so glad to hear you're hanging around with us a little longer. :D You sound so much more positive in your posts today than yesterday.
As for the wool underlay, have you got a wool setting on your washing machine? Or even a blanket setting? I have one on my washing machine, and I believe it's set to do a warm-hot wash. So yeah, you should be able to wash it.
Poor J, I hope he gets better soon.
Congrats Laurin on making it through. I started doing a Bach Commerce, but stopped halfway through as I just wasn't enjoying it. I did so much study through school with Accounting and business subjects by the time I got to uni I was sick of it, lol.
What date are you due?
shar - how is the painting and gardening coming along? Have you painted that fence yet? I bet you're enjoying your pool right now. If you have weather anything like us then you will be. That's the only thing I like about summer, being able to swim.
chrissy - great to hear your move went well, well apart from Caity. Hopefully she'll settle into her new home soon. It must be hard for her, first her dad leaves, then moving house. How is she going without Craig?
maz - if I could get a cheap enough flight I'd there in an instant. I could have got a flight for $25 to Mel, but it's for the 20th Oct, so a few days too late :
Anyone else in Melbourne coming on saturday???
Me - well I've had an extremely busy day, I'm tired, and I can feel that my iron levels are low again cause I keeping almost fainting. So I'm off to have a lie down while Emily is. bbl.
In actual fact I was thinking of going to the baby expo on Sat. I thought ebveryone was meeting up on Sunday???
Nope, it's Saturday Meg, at 10am, to try and miss some of the crowd (I'm dubious about that :p). Would be great to see you there! Pop into the thread to keep updated! I think we're trying to wear something purple? Or printing an avatar out or...I can't remember.
Hey, Rans read today that interest rates could eventually get down to 0% or close! Wow.
what the?????? **** how ace would that be! I heard that it would be down another .5% by christmas and was pretty happy with that but 0% WOW!!!!
Yeah Meg - 10am sharp hehehe at the front of the casino I think we said..and try to wear something visably purple
Jodi - I hope you find out what the hell is going on properly with your dizzies woman
Laurin - bring on Friday adn celebrate anyway..go and buy that bottle and date it just for you :) we stillhave a bottle dated with Nikolaus' birthday date on it thats un opened
helloev eryone sorry still have this shiatfull migraine - hope its gone before saturday
How many Melbournites are there in this group? I will be heading down to Melbourne beginning of next year sometime with my mum for a girlie weekend away, and I HAVE to meet each and every single Melbournitee here. okey dokey :D
0% hey!! That would bl00dy brilliant! and 0.5% off by Christmas would be ace!
maz - I'm on Iron Supplements to try and bring my iron levels up, so I stop feeling so faint, but it aint working  Dr said my only other option is iron injections frequently at his surgery. I'll get another blood test in 2 months to see where my levels are at, and if there's little or no change, than I'll have to do that.
Meg- honey your welcome I understand what you are going through, here if you need me always hon. xxx
Hi everyone how are you all? I hope everyone is well.
Julia is going well but shes still sick with ear infection and cold, seems to be going between Jeffrey and Julia twice now in the last month not good heh. Thankfully Tara and I are ok and havent got it phew. Julia's on antibiotic but doing ok now much more energy, shes at my mums tonight and tomorrow which is nice for her cause she gets to go to the park and beach and I get a break too and get to catchp on some much needed sleep. Julia sits on the potty but wont do anything yet lol...so not going to well on the TT department but they are starting it next week at daycare so wont be long hopefully.
Hugs to everyone and hope you have a great meetup in Melb this weekend.
Liquid iron Jodi? I don't absorb tablets, but liquid can be okay.
Good to see you Belle.
liquid iron?? please explain :)
Yeah, like a liquid supplement. Most chemists have it in some form or other, ranging from nice tasting to having-to-be-taken-as-a-shot-with-a-chaser tasting. :p
Am I only Melbournite not going to the baby expo? It scares me I remember going there 2 years ago and leaving with a migraine, unable to move in there, pram traffic chaos! But have stuff on anyways but would've been nice to meet up with ppl.
Meg- You do sound alot better today and thats great to see (or read).
Belle- Bet Julias grandparents spoil her too, lol, hope that ear infection clears up, is she feeling ok with it?
Jodi- Yep I'll def be up with meeting you early next year, come on down! That sucks bout your iron, I have heard that the body hardly absorbs much of the tablet. Do you take like vit c with it? (I think it was vit c that helped).
Laurin- Congrats on finishing the course, what a relief too I bet. I remember just getting so sick of studying. You'll have to get some apple cidar and pretend its great champagne! Lol.
Helen- Oh wow, you think you'll last that long? Can't believe how close its coming!
Chrissy- God moving is nightmare, worse for you, so many more kids to move! Hope you sort it out soon, how the kids with the move?
Oh wow I'd be so excited with interest rates dropping that much! These decreases couldn't have come at a better time for us, with me finishing work in Jan we'll be saving good amount with these cuts. Glad we stuck to the variable!
shell - I'm currently taking Ferrograd C, which has Vitamin C in it.
I think vitamin B is good for taking with iron too? C'mon Shell, you're a nurse! Caddie?
Shell, I'm not taking Riv, just Si, and he'll be in a carrier - no way would I bother with a pram, I like to duck and weave. ;)
I am currently taking iron,b12(for growth of red blood cells),vit D,Calcium, folic acid.
The injections are for those that the tablets are not increasing the iron levels. Its usually in the bum and painful.
Jodi are you taking them everyday? Maybe you need a boost of injects. My levels were so low when first diagnosed with coeliacs the dr didnt know how i was walking.I did feel like i was dying!lol But it does need to be sorted because when you lack iron you feel so run down.
I wish i lived in melbourne sometimes....lol
caddie - yep, taking them everyday. My dr said the same thing, he was surprised I can even get around with how low my levels are ATM. That's the ones he was talking about, getting them in the bum. He said they're painful, and they could possibly stain the skin?? So he's hoping the tablets work. But I don't think they are.
I'm sick today. Got it last night, and a lot worse today. I think it's the vomiting bug Heath had the other day. I was able to get Nina into kindy today (thank goodness) and I'm off to the dr at 11 in the hope they can give me something. I'm just waiting for Emily to go back to sleep so I can rest before my dr app. Heath is panicking that I might be pg. With the way I'm feeling today, I do feel pg. :o
fak, but def ask your pharmacist about liquid iron Jodi, being liquid it's more easily absorbed.
Jodes- I hope the Dr managed to fix you up.
As far as taking a stroller to the baby expo. It doesn't really bother me. I took a stroller all over London and on the tube and managed alright.
I am not sure what time I will be getting there, so I prob won;t meet up with everyone, but I will keep an eye out for you all.
J was up a bit of last night, as he still feels sick. He has been complaining of a tummy ache. It was actually a little amusing last night though. I got up as he was upset and gave him some pain relief. Once his tummy felt better, I was sitting with him while he was lying in bed. He obviously didn't want me to leave, as with his limited vocab, he was trying to start a conversation with me! He was saying Cow says Moo, and talking about diggers.
Is it bad that I am having BBQ shapes for dinner :P
Meg - I just had raisin toast for my dinner and about to have some chocolate cake :)
Fairly bad Meg, but I had pizza on a queasy stomach, so what can I say. :p
ETA: Haha, SNAP for the bad eaters!
2 min noodles for me, some sao's with vegemite and a lamington. Oh and some choc mates.
Meg- Poor J, how is he now? So cute tho him chatting to keep you around.
Jodi- You do a preg test? I just gave an iron infusion to patient at work Thurs arvo, maybe I need to give you one of those. The injections don't sound like much fun but hopefully they will work and make you feel heaps better.
shell - funny you should mention that, I'm going to the hosp on Monday to get an Iron infusion.
Hopefully it will make you better Jodi
Hope the iron infusion really helps Jodi, and you can start getting on top of everything.
Hehehe about everyones eating, it is much the same for me. I tend to pick at the healthy tea, and then opt for a cold milo and different bits and pieces later, I just wish there was ice-cream and ice-magic here RIGHT NOW!.lol
Will be finishing Eithan's christmas presents long with everyone else's on Monday. What do you think of some pretend tools for Eithan?
Hope you are all well. Babies are giving me lots of kicks.OUCH
Congrats on reaching 32 weeks Helen :leap: :hooray:
Pretend tools for Eithan sounds like fun. I'm sure any toddler would love it. I know Nina would, and she's a tomboy.
I've got a doll set thingy for Nina, which includes a doll, dolls bed, clothes, bottle etc, and also some pretend cooking stuff to go with her little stove.
Thanks Jodi. Nina is going to love her present. We have pretty much done Bella's, but lately she has been really into her baby dolls (due to me being pregnant) and I would love to get her a matching twin pram, but dont know if I could wrangle it out of Leith.LOL
Does anyone elses child/bub suffer from hayfever?
Eithan has come down with it shocking. He gets the red running eyes, tons of snot and sneezes. We have him on zoloft twice a day to help ease the symptoms. He still gets a little bit of a runny nose but other than that nothing.
J has pretent tools and loves them. DH does heps of work outside, and J hammers along with him. He also has a circular saw and a drill, as that is what DH has been doing the past few weeks.
My dad has made him a toolbox for Christmas and I have bought a tool belt to go with it.
J is getting a proper big boy bed for Christmas. (and not just the cot converted to a bed that he is currently in!!!)
Hi Everyone!
Helen - The tools sound like a great idea, and well done for making it to 32 weeks!
Meg - I'm sure he will love his bed! What I have done with Tiana is put a baby gate across her doorway so she isn't locked away with the door shut but she also cant get out. (not that she sleeps in there but it worked when she did). It just saves putting them back in there room a thousand times a night.
Jodi - I hope all goes well on Monday. Are you just really low on iron?
Shell - How are you going? Is the baby kicking away happily and you feeling good?
I think I am the only one not contmplating or having number two! I think about it but Tiana is a handful as it is and she still doesnt sleep well - not to mention pregnancy is not fun for me. I am just lucky that I am only 24 and dont have to worry about it just yet.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I better head off to work now.
I'm not sure what we gonna give Ash for xmas, we need to get her big girl bed too so that might have to be her xmas present, by time we buy the bed/ mattress, sheets, doona, pillow and whatever else we prolly won't have any money left for anything else. I'm sure she'll get toys from grandparents tho.
Marni- yep heaps kicks, feeling so tired tho, not sleeping well. Wait til your ready for number 2 like you said you're still young, lots time and then when Tiana is older she can be your little helper when you do have another! Hope her sleeping starts to improve, you hear when pregnant bout babies and trying to get them to sleep thru but no one ever mentions toddler troubles with sleeping.
Meg- Oh that would look so cute J and his dad out with their tools together! You're lucky you have 2 handy men there I don't even have 1! Enjoy your mumks group party today.
Helen- I think Ash has had a little bit hayfever, nothing like poor Eithan but some days I find she is constantly rubbing her eys and nose and sneezing.
Jodi- That iron should give you nice boost of energy hopefully!
Time for a new thread. Here you go everyone :) Babies born 2006 #107.
