camping ... I'm jealous. We're not going anywhere. We went away over Christmas, and with me going away in June, it's best for us to stay home I think.
Maz - Im going to a birth centre this time because knowing it was my last bub I really wanted to have the ultimate birth for me you know? So providing no issues like Ripleys pregnancy which I havent I'll be getting my spontaneous au naturale waterbirth and natural 3rd stage. Its a beautiful centre (if you google Friends of the Birth Centre Townsville you'll find piccies - totally devine!) and my midwife is just fabulous, feels more like a friend than a care provider. So even though I am DYING here, the idea of doing it all my way and having that final beautiful experience is keeping me semi sane. Not that the boys births werent awesome, just that the way it all went down was out of my control with all the health issues - lucky River has cooperated a little too well this time  So no induction til Im 12 days overdue which is the 17th April *sigh* Im hoping and my midwife is pretty confident he'll be here by his EDD, he just has to make the decision to come out and play. Im so excited!
Jett is a talker too, his kindy teachers find it amusing because its often the cause of his injuries from kindy, too busy chatting away to himself or someone else and BAM stacks it on something lol He cracks us up with things he says, and we get the endless 20 questions too. Its amazing how fast they turn into little learning creatures!
That looks awesome Anna! I can't wait for the Cairns one to open ... one day  I won't hold my breath it'll happen any time soon though.
your birth plan sounds wonderful annat. I hope you get what you want. I know all about births with alot of intervention. It was needed but still i kinda wish i had it my way.lol
Jodi i dont know how you do it! and all the other mummy's working.Im glad im doing it from home!
Happy Birthday To MILLANA!! Hope her day was special.
Millana is a non-stop drama queen. I swear she does it to make my blood boil. I then rant and rave and then she ends up crying and whinging.Arghh does my head in but i have noticed she has opened up at gym more and not needing me to go and supervise her as oftn.
Ruby no complaints. Happy, she sings she is just at a lovley age. The only time she chucks a tanty is when she is tired and usually she will say "i stop crying mummy"
Im in the process of setting up my "business" more full time. This is so i can prove to myself and hubby that i dont need to go out to the workforce.I can have my own clothing factory at home.lol
OK I need some advice. J has been a NIGHTMARE at bedtime. He used to be so good. Now he cried hysterically every night. (Had been for about 2 months now) and wants the door open. Problem with having door open now is that he can hear E and makes him cry more.
Then he is waking between 4 and 6 crying again and wants one of us to get into his bed. This is abit of a problem, as DH does night shifts and I am home alone a bit. I have to be able to feed E, so can't do 2 things at once.
Laurin - I know you are using a sticker chart, can you explain exactly how you are doing it??
Any other advice would be great.
Thanks
Does he have a night light meg? Can you pop a chair and feed bubs whilst j reads a book or you can tell a story? He may fall asleep quicket than working himself up if you get my drift?
He has a night light, and i have tried feeding in there, but as soon as Miss E makes a noise he starts imitating her etc. i really think he is doing it to imitate her, as he sees that she gets to be picked up, cuddled and allowed out of bed. I jsut don't want to start a habit of having to get into bed with him, as I really hate cosleeping.
Meg - With the sticker chart, make goals with him to earn stickers that are really short-term, so he gets to earn them quickly (success breeds success). But stick to about 3 things at a time so he doesn't have too much to focus on, maybe one big thing (like staying in bed at night) and two little things (like picking up his toys, brushing teeth, eating his dinner etc. something he's not struggling with). Apart from that, Caddie's idea with reading to him is great, also maybe have soft music playing in his room so he may not be woken as easily by Miss E. Make sure you praise him lots when you catch him doing well.
Oh, another idea, maybe have a lucky dip box filled with little treats wrapped up that he can pick one out if he stays in his bedroom all night.
Caddie - Good luck with growing your business. You're so very talented, I'm sure you'll do well :D
:hello: Hello to everyone else!! Sorry, time's limited at the moment, gotta get running. Love to all
Hi Girls
Well im back from my week of bliss..if you could call it that, had a pretty good time, got well and truley pi$$ed on day 1, and most other passengers as well, so day 2 was really bad, throwing up, about half the ship was we had extremely heavy seas for 48 hours, and it wasnt pretty so day 2 and 3 was made up of just trying to lie in bed, as i had pretty bad sea sickness..the rest of the trip was pretty good, alot of people flew home at new caledonia as it was so rough, and they were so ill, and on the way home there was a cyclone on our path, so we went a differnet way..all was ok, i got facials and massages onboard, won $250 on the pokies, my girlfriend had no money ( it was a pi$$off) so i had to shout her, long story....went and saw lots of shows bymyself as my freind was sick and quite boring really..and as for the men on baord maz......none!!.....it gave me lots of time to think things through, but it was also very upsetting, as i had to much time to think about all the $hit that has happened, so i was in tears most days..but obviously they needed to come out..anyway thats about it..pretty good time really and i could have done the trip by myself
have a good one girls
Chrissy- Glad you had a good time, even with the tears but it prolly a good thing you got them out of you needed too. Sure half the boat weren't sea sick from getting p!ssed day 1? Lol. Too bad no hot men there! I always wanted to go on a cruise but I get really bad motion sickness that think I'll have to miss it.
Meg- How is everything with you? I've not seen you on BB for few days so hoping its cause you are busy and hope things are going ok, been thinking of you. Shar listed some good tips there, hopefully they'll work for you.
Caddie- Good on you setting up your business full time. I wish you all the success with it, be great for you to keep working from home that way.
AnnaT- Can't believe you are so close now! This one will prolly go over your due date (don't shoot me for saying that, lol) You'll have to go jump on the trampoline get things happening.
Jodi- I can see you popping out another soon so can work til then. Does it work out well financially paying for 2 in childcare? The childcare centres around me are all quite expensive so 2 kids would just about take my wage!
MrsT- Nup not going anywhere, have fun camping, hope your not roughing it too much!
Laurin- Hope your enjoying time with DH, how long is he back for? Be nice to do things as a family and also try and get some time to yourself while he is back, go get massage or something nice done.
We just taking one day at a time here, the lack of sleep made me quite teary this morn, just feeling exhausted but you would all understand going thru it yourselves. Look forward to when she sleeps better, thankfully Ash has been so good, my little helper, rocks the bassinet for me and puts Em's dummy back in.
chrissy - saw the photos, looked like fun!! Shame about the men, or lack of though. It was probably the first time in a long time you've had the chance to think about what's happened.
shell - yeah it works out alright financially. Our out of pocket expenses for daycare are $350 each week, and we get 50% rebate each quarter of those fees. So with 2 incomes, it's pretty good. I enjoy working, and I enjoyed my time at home with the girls full time. I'm fortunate I got to spend almost 3 years at home, there's so many people that have to go back to work when their bub is 6 weeks old. Plus my wage is going to pay for the renos we're going to do around the house.
As for number 3, bring it on! :D If only I could convince Heath.
The tiredness goes away, I promise. Once Emily started sleeping through at 5 weeks it was bliss. But before that, it was so hard to get up each morning with so little sleep. Especially between 3 and 5 weeks for Emily. That was just awful. I was surviving on 2 hours sleep each night. Not fun.
We had a busy weekend, even though we barely left the house. Just cleaning up and stuff. Emily is still crawling, but pulling herself up and standing unassisted. And she seems to think climbing is fun :wall:
As for Nina, same same. She's a real little chatterbox, and she comes up with the funniest songs!
Hope is all well with everyone else.
Check out the birth announcements girls, AnnaT has had River!
Woo hoo Anna
Just seen pics on facebook, Wow gorgeous is all i can say. Just about made me cry seeing how relaxed anna's birth looks..

hope eveyrone else is well anyway...enough of my book and Rach...i hope your still good hon :)
Maz- Thats so great bout no night nappies, we still haven't even got the day done! Df is on school holidays next week so while he is home we're planning on trying again with Ash, I know she is ready, she knows when she needs to go but seems to have a fear of letting go without a nappy.
I love the things they come out with too, its so funny sometimes, even the naughty words lol.
Hi Zada, welcome to our group!
Jodi- wow 5 weeks! Can't see my Emily doing that! Thanks for the name by the way, I'd never really thought of the name til you had your Emily then I thought to myself yeah it is a nice name. I'm sure you'll talk Heath into #3 soon enuff!
I'm looking forward to easter too, I love chocolate! Will put a little egg hunt on for Ash and my nephew.
Maz - you can borrow my newborn any time!! :) How cute about Vy singing on the loo. J still prefers to sit on a potty. But not complaining as still much easier to clean than nappies. His fave is still to go outside and wee on the grass. In the past few weeks (since E) he has been wetting his pants in the car. Anyway started the whole - you can have a chocolate if you dont do wees in the car, and lo and behold been dry ever since. he gets 4 mini M&M's. He was even telling me that he was going to do wees in the car!! Naughty boy!!!
Jodi - Wow I wish E would slepp through. She is 5 weeks now, and still up at least once or twice a night. J slept through from 13 weeks, so I am still hoping.
Chrissy - It was probably good for you to have some time away and reflect on what has happened.
MrsT- We ususally camp over easter, but DH has to work this year, so taking it easy. Might go to one of the holiday houses with my mum.
Ok well I am going to go to bed while E is asleep and hopefully catch up on a few zzz's
congrats Anna :)
thanks for askign after me Maz doing ok lots of vomiting but OB told me today that it is a sign of a strong pg  saw  again today so still going strong looks like I will have c-sect last week of Oct unless I get GD again then be mid-oct :) so yeah beside vomiting and feeling liek crap all day every day doing good
Hey everyone,
Sorry been awol, just the usual story...
Huge congratulations AnnaT to you, DH and the boys on baby River.
Meg & Shell - how are you doing with everything, it is hard work isn't, the whole newborn and balancing the needs of your toddler, etc, etc.....it is just all a juggling act in the beginning and you just have to do whatever works at the time to stay sane and away from the valium lol. I still havn't got things downpat here and now Finny seems to be waking more than he was a few weeks ago....Meg, you asked about the sticker chart - yeah what Shar suggested, I just have the basic tasks, cleaning teeth, eating dinner, tidying playroom and then going to bed happy - have been slack with doing it lately though.
Maz - these two year olds are just the funniest aren't they, they make you laugh and then one second later drive you nuts...
Zada - welcome to the crazy september 06 mummies.
Okay, better go, we are off to NZ for three weeks on Good Friday, can't wait. It is just me and the kids going as DH goes back to South Africa next thursday.
Take care
L xxx
Maz, i think i have vys twin here..i also have a toilet singer
congrats anna on the birth of river
rach, all the best, and feeling so sick is a great sign.
hope all the new bubbas are behaving for you mums.
not much here to report...im selling my bike, i have no time to ride it, and my daughter got a job at maccas, so now i dont get as much money from centrlink, so i will be struggling to afford to register it and run it, so its on ebay now..have had to way alot of stuff up, im only left with $100 a f/n after rent/food/power/phone..so i think i need to find a job or, im thinking of doing family day care, if my landlord will let me, its the only thing i can think of that will earn me money and i dont have to ofload the kids at daycare, and i can also claims lots in tax..so im looking into it atm.
enough from me..have a great weekend girls
chrissy - a friend of mine did family day care for a few years and it was fantastic money, sooooo many things you can claim on tax. Definitely look into it.
I did a huge post last night but it got gobbled up, so I'll have to come back later to retype it.
Chrissy - I hope you can do family day care. It will be great.
BB keeps crashing so much that I am not posting too much these days.
Chrissy- FDC a good idea then you can still look after your own kids as well as make some money. Sucks that you had to sell your bike.
Laurin- Have good time in NZ, you staying with your parents? Will be great if they're there to help you out with the kids instead you doing everything on yr own.
Rach- Hope all is still going well. How many weeks are you now?Hopefully the vomiting will settle soon, keep looking at the positive side of it.
We decided seeing as Df is on holidays to attempt TT again with Ash and had some success! She is definately ready now when I tried 3 months ago I can see now she wasn't quite ready. When she had training pants on she'd just wee in them and the ask for fresh pair so I just left her with nothing on down there and was so cute I saw her run for toilet and she had done a tiny dribble on play room floor then must've realised and quickly went toilet, she can hold on too now for few hours whereas last time she couldn't. She wee'd again 2nd time before we put bedtime nappy on, so yay success! Poo not so good, poor thing came out of toy room crying saying poo on floor, we just quickly cleaned it up and said its ok but she was quite upset by it.
Poor Ash.
Hope everyone is going well. Bit crazy here still. Off to the Paeds tomorrow as there is something wrong with Tallulah's muscles, particularly her left side. Here's hoping its from being squashed in the womb and physio can fix it.
Take care.
Oh helen how worrying or you. Let us know how she goes. And rest assure physio does do wonders with babies. How is everyone else? how are you going?
I am going NUTS....Thats right you heard it.Im running round with my head off and i just dont know where to begin....cleaning,sewing,cooking,sorting out the fights i cant wait till june...i so need it.
Thanks Caddie. All went well, he cant see any kind of permanent or physical nerve or muscle problems, just to be sure he is going to send her to a special physio that looks after babies born premmie to keep an eye on her and examine her. So a huge sigh of relief.
You poor thing Caddie, have you managed to get any rest yet? I am having heaps of trouble with Eithan. I swear he spends the whole day screaming, throwing tantrums. He refuses to go on the potty even though he is fine once he is sitting on it. He demands to wear trousers over his undies and then proceeds to wee in them. He takes off his shoes and socks when we go out anywhere. He really is a terrible two yr old. I feel like I am pulling out my hair, he is more trouble than the twins. I know a bit of it would be attention seeking, and we do try to spread ourselves across all kids but ugh! So I really feel for you not getting a break from the girls it must be so hard. You do a great job doing that and having your own business, kudos to you.
Well I should be in bed, but this is my only quiet time, so I might make school lunch for Bella and then head to bed.
ETA: I think Eithan might have asthma, anyones elses child/ren have asthma?
take care ladies.
Helen, my toddler's a pain in the butt at times too. Tantrum central here some days. Isn't served his drink on a silver platter? Tantrum. Can't reach it because he deliberately doesn't stretch far enough for some angry reason? Tantrum. Knocks the drink over? Tantrum. It's like he has a split personality, one half deliberately sabotages himself, and the other half gets upset about it. Crazy kid.
Thanks Nelle, nice to know someone else experiencing the same.
Helen- No asthma here, maybe post in the medical conditions forum see what info you can get? Thats good news with Tallulah's appt, when do you go see the physio?
Touch wood we don't get too many tantrums here, Ash is more of a drama queen over things, she puts on these big acts with facial expressions, body language, over the smallest things, quite funny sometimes.
Our TT is going ok, yesterday no accidents, yet today she hasn't wee'd at all in toilet and twice on floor. But I know its expected, she loves her new Dora undies I bought her.
just quick hello been somewhat busy of late  also for some reason have lost interest in my comp  I finally get everything back and working and well I can't be bothered
Shell you asked how far I am now 9 weeks 4 days today :) doing well still :puke: once sometimes twice a day but all good starting to not feel quite so sick all day which helps as my house is filthy and in dire need of a good clean so this weekend thats the plan for here :)
also to the girls I email etc could you please email me as I have no-ones addy's except for some reason caddie's and chrissy have stayed on my comp  but everyone else's has gone :(
9 weeks Rach - Time will fly.
Caddie, Helen, Nelle - Where do I begin with the tantrms/bad behaviour. and he is up half the night.
E barely sleeps in the day, so I have them both cryinh/whinging half the day. And DH seems to think it is ok to go away for 5 days next week because he needs the break. WFT!!! It is ME who is home with 2 screaming kids all day. He is on night shift tonight, so I am once again on my own. I am dreading the nights. It is so long with no help and maybe an hour or two of sleep, as I am going between the two of them. J used to be the most awesome sleeper. Not any more though.....
Gee meg that sounds awful. I wish i could help you out. Even to babysit whilst you had a rest. Do you have anyone? Maybe DH should let you have a few hrs of recoup before he goes. Men just dont seem to understand.I love my girls but at times they depress me with the fighting and sleeping issues and esp millana's behavior.
Your not alone here..the thing is some of us have no help and thats what kinda makes it harder. I wish there was a solution..
helen - so glad to hear it doesn't look like anything serious/long term!
I have asthma, have my whole life. So if you need any advice/info, let me know.
meg - it is such a shame when men just don't get that we need a break once in a while as well. Do you have anyone else for support? Hopefully it's all just a little phase the kids are going through. It's hard settling in with a newborn and a toddler. Just keep trying to organise some sort of routine with them and it will eventually fall into place.
I've run out of time on the computer now  I'll be back tomorrow for more.
Well DH wanted to stay on for a few more days, and I insisted that he come hom,e. I don't think he was bery happy.
How is everyone going? This thread has become so quiet.
Jodi - I was on facebook that you got the F/T job. Well done.
J is absolutely obsessed with a bob and spiderman figurine. He carries it everywhere including in the shower. I won't let them leave the house though. Does anyone else's kids become obsessed with certain toys? I just wonder what I will do if he loses them? We will have major tears. I am thinking of buying a spare.
I was thinking we were pretty quiet. Meg, Riv's in love with helicopters, and if one breaks, he wails for what seems like hours. I'm glad your dh is home, it can be so hard without them, I don't think they realise.
Hey wanna know something cool? I think Riv just said love. Well, he did say it, I just hope he meant to say it. He fell over in their room (I did tell you the boys are in the same room cos Riv almost got on the roof didn't I?) and I went in to soothe him, and he escaped out the door, which made me giggle, and as I put him back to bed I said I love you, mummy loves you so much my love. And he said 'Ove'. Then he thought about it and said 'Love'. I tried to get him to say it again, but he'd moved on, and wanted to know what his beads were called, and what my ear was called.
But how is everyone? Updates?
Hey all
Nelle- thats great about the words.. Annika says she wubs me all the time, but she also tells me she hates me too :( think her older sister and kindy are getting in her ear....
Meg- glad DH is home
as for us
Annika is a little chatter bug, loves to sing... has obsession with babies and has one in her tummy often, and well she even knows the way babies come out too, my mother was absolutly mortified when annika and Teleah were having babies at her house, laying there with their legs open... ROFL think thay had watched on to many of my labour and birth videos
Millana is also now walking, little cheeky thing... takes a few steps though and realises what she is doing and stops... she got bit by something lately cant work out what it is though and seems to upset her a bit but the emergency dr said she would be fine.
Teleah has one more term of kindy before she starts school and she is so excited, diving me up the wall with stuff she wants for her big school
I have a week of child free time next week, its ex turn to take holidays and have them for a full week... omg i am so not going to know what to do with myself. Im going to miss them bad but enjoy it at the same time.. they need the time with their dad.
I am going camping for a few nights, me and a girlfriend as a girls get away no boys allowed... lol
so yeah thats me LOL turned out longer then i thought it would be
Hi all, ive been busy too. I seem to be on facebook moe often than not these days.lol
Millana is currently sick with a dreadful cold and ruby spewed sour milk all over herself and me last night so hoping she doesnt get it too. i have an ear ache. So i suppose betternow than when school starts.
Aaron is open to suggestions for another bubs but we will discuss it again closer to oct as i want a winter baby. (easier with dh's job) and im sick of birthday's at the end of the year. Plus i need to speak to the specialist about my coeliacs and how it will effect bubs and i.
I have been sewing as per usual..life is pretty good atm.
