Just a pop in. Im knackered from dishwasher shopping today. Scored a brand new LG dishwasher (all fangdangled with lots of gadgets and tricks) for $635 down from $799! Thankgod for Good Guys. Now we just have to buy Jetts big boy bed and pay off the credit card.
Jett has now graduated to using a drink bottle with a straw and no more bottles :)

Meg- I start at 1. We usually go for arvo tea round 2:45 or 3 so if you still around and have time pop onto my ward. I'm on lower west.
Caddie- Glad to hear Ruby is improving.
We have teething here I think, I am typing one handed cause clingy bub on my lap, she has slight temp too, just not a happy chappy.

Im kinda getting a little worried.. Jesse still only says bub bub bub bub bub.. thats it. No mum mum or da da, nothing.. no matter how many times i say it to him. Ive been trying for months to teach him how to clap his hands, he just looks at me doing it or grabs my hands. When i clap his hands for him, he will hold his palms out but wont do it himself. He wont wave, just looks at you like youre a fruitcake. Wont point. Nothing. I might be jumping the gun a little, but he's now less than a month off 1 and isnt doing any of this, when i just read in a baby mag that he should by 1. Im just kinda stressed and worried now..
-
not sure about that kell, but they all do things at differnet times, caity has only started crawling in the last month, but since then she is now standing and looks like she will be walking before 1, she claps when i say clap, waves and says, mum, dad, dog (her fav) tries to say jessica & nicole( but they sound nothing like it) if you are worried see a baby health nurse or doctor just to put your mind at ease, but im sure he is fine :)
-
Kell, I really don't think you have anything to worry about, I bet Jesse is doing other things and that is where all his brain power is going. I read that if bubs develop one skill then other ones fall by the wayside till they have got that one skill happening. All these baby mags/books are a shomozle when they say baby should be doing this or that, etc, bubs develop at all ages. Do you take him to a paediatrician or clinic nurse for his 12 month check up - I am sure they will be able to put your mind at ease. I remember all the bubs at the Mums and bubs group I go to were crawling and I was really panicking because Rylee wasn't and then one day out of the blue she just took off. I am sure Jessman is absolutely fine and will give you a big surprise in the next week or so! :)
-
Hi Chrissy
What are you doing up, it must be very early in the morning there? :)
-
caity wakes up at around 5 am each morning, its not to bad on school days as i have to get the kids up at 6am, but weekends give me the ****s getting up early

Is it Xander's Birthday Party today? Just saw you message on MSN Anna.. if so.. hope you have a great day Xander!! Cant wait to see all the photos!!!
Thanks Chrissy & Laurin. I guess ill just keep at it hopefully there will be light at the tunnel sooner than later. He does however do things that i think are using his brain iykwim. We have this Fisher Price ball thing where you put the balls in the top, then push down a handle and it plays music and they come rolling out of the bottom. He sits there putting the balls in, pushing the handle then puts the ball back in, pushes the handle and so on and so on. He started that last week and i was so proud that he had learnt something i taught him. But i will definately go to the CHN for his 12 month check up and see what she says. I might talk to my sister also as both of my nephews were slow in speach and went to Speech Theropy.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Have a great birthday party xander!!!
Ruby only says mumma and dada and i think a type of woof noise for the dog when she barks? No clapping or anything.Bobs on her bum for dancing.Millana was streaks ahead and could say dharma at this age for our dog and chochoc for chocolate.Kids just develop at different stages.
Oh chrissy! 5am. We use to be that time but lately 6am. I feel for you.
-
KEll - I wouldn't stress. James only started proper crawling 2 days ago. He is not pulling himself up at all. When I ask him to wave bye bye, he claps hands! I cannot for the life of me get him to wave! He is saying mum, dad and bub, shakes his head and says no. He also tries to say Oh Dear! (My mum was saying it to him) It comes out more like ah dah.
Shell - I will try and pop over if I can. It would be great to put a face to all the chatter, as I feel like I know everyone really well! It just depends, as I will have to get back as the neighbour is going to look after James.
Hope Xander has a great party.
Maz - hope you are feeling more cheery today.
Caddie - glad Ruby is feeling a bit better.
Belle -are you there????
Chrissy - 5am! and I find 7am hard enough.
AnnaT - Yay on the dishwasher. No more washing dishes!
I have had serious headaches the last couple of morning. Waking up with them. It is horrible. I just feel so tired. I think it is the stress of all these tests, plus moving house.......
We are off to the footy today. To the North Melbourne game. James is a signed up member. I actually don't follow the footy, but his dad LOVES it. If fact the dog is a pet patron!

At the inlaws so don't have much time, but Kell, magazines are rubbish, don't read them mate. You can't generalise with kids like that. I bet Jess is just fine. Riv doesn't say much, bubub and mumum and a few other indecipherable things. Mostly oh! in a very conversational tone, sound like he's talking but it's all just noise. Not interested in walking at all, though he pulls himself up. Don't worry. I've heard some kids just one day up and go! Maybe Jessman will.
Better scoot, be back another time.
-
Kell - putting objects in and out of other ones uses the same part of the brain that reading does - it is a pre-reading skill so Jessman has been putting all his energy into that.
Not much else to report, po'd with DH - he had an 'afternoon nap' yesterday arvo for 3 hours then slept in till 10 am this morning - not fair!!!
Anyway, better go, I can see a tooth coming through - Rylee's first one!!! My little bub is growing up.
Laurin:)

Ditto everyone else Kell, kids do things in their own time. Unless he was still at the developmental stage of a newborn I wouldnt worry.
Jett is considered pretty advanced for his age but there are some simple things he cant (most of the time I think its wont) do like clap his hands. He has alot of vocab words but only says Mum, Dad, Bubba, didi, yummy on a regular basis - the rest are whenever he feels like using them words. He can walk but he still prefers to crawl, he only learnt how to wave at people in the last 3 weeks. Ive learnt that the more I want him to do things (like walk *sigh*) the more he WONT do them. Theyre rather forceful, independent little creatures. I bet Jesse does alot of the things you think he doesnt, he just doesnt do them infront of anyone. I always reckon they do things behind our backs, so there's no pressure, its like a little haha at us you know?
