morning girls
belle, wishing you all the best for today, i do hope you find this group very supportive xxx
as for birthday pressies, i laybuyed caitys last week, but only a budget of $50, theres not a real lot to choose from, and what really sh**s me is most toys need batteries, so i ended up choosing just this little pop up toy that needed no batteries! and i wiggles dvd.
since june we have a kids birthday everymonth till xmas, so we are on such a tight budget, that everyone gets $50 spent on them and i put $10 in there bank accounts, and that goes for xmas as well.......7 kids = $350 + bank money..thats plenty, and they all get so many gifts as they get mums presents and then they get dads, so they dont really miss out.
have a great weekend

Good morning sunshine... the earth says HELLLOOOOOOOO!
Chrissy.. i think thats fair enough.. and i think theyre lucky to get what they do, i know alot out there dont even get that.
IL's for lunch today joy... off to make a coffee...
-
chrissy - yeah I agree, $50 is plenty. Especially when there are grandparents also spoiling them.
Good luck with the cake!
Well we have no idea what we're buying Nina. I have to go shopping today.
anna - it's the flu. I feel a lot better this morning, and so does Heath.
Nina's having a sleep in today, so I might go back to bed before she wakes.

I spent bout $100 all up on birthday but saved lots from the sale. Xmas we don't spend much cause there is everyone else to buy for also but thought for birthday can spend a little more.
Chrissy- bloody hell when you put it like that 7 kids and presents you'll need to take out a loan or something!
Ness- Hopefully the dresses won't be too expensive, they'll look sooo cute though. When's the wedding? We'll have to see pics.
Rikki- Good luck with the cake! I'm gonna make one of those ones from the womans day (or week?) childrens cook books, I bet mine won't look as good as Anna's though, we have alot to live up to now!
Anna**- Gotta watch those cold n' flu tabs cause the codeine in them is whats gonna block you up! I been using that nose sparay stuff, I feel I'm on the mend finally though.
I think I'll do some packing today, 3.5 weeks til I move so I'm gonna pack up all the stuff we don't use very often.

Rikki - The Expo was spread over two buildings this year so heaps more room. Not as many freebies tho, I got there at 10am yesterday and got what there was (mainly 'sposie nappies and toddler formula). But by the time we left an hour later a lot of the stalls had no samples left on display and people were squabbling over what was left. The Mother & Baby stall had a good pack though which had a tupperware lunch container in it (I missed that stall!).
Chrissy - We normally have a budget of $50 for birthdays and $20 for Xmas in my whole family. Most of Xanders' big pressies were spread between a few people. We bought him the swing set, but it wont be the norm him getting such big pressies.
-
I remember the expo here last year, it was soooo packed it was bad, so hard to push prams around and so hard to look at things. It was my very first outing with Ash too (besides just walking up the street) and I was all nervous.
The free stuff was great though, got heaps nappies.
oh just realised, one month exact now til ash's birthday!

HI guys, thank-you sooo much for Eithan's bday wishes. 'We didnt do much yesterday as we are having his party tomorrow. We did give him his pressies though. Bella got him a 'cars' fold out couch, and we got him some duplo and a peek a blocks school bus.
Will be back on in a couple of days to do personals and talk more.
Belle-Goodluck with today.

What have you got planned for the party tomorrow Helen?
Does anyone want the number '1' candle off Xanders' Cake and the 'Happy 1st Birthday' banner I have? The candle wouldn't light as it was so windy, so it is like new! Just PM your addy and I'll post.
-
Hey Anna if no one else has asked yet I'll gladly have it!

-
Ness, that sucks, I know how looking forward to going you were. Do you have to pay cancellation fee or anything? Grr to whoever had shingles.
Anna- thanks! :D
HelenP- Enjoy the party tomor.

So sad :(
Nessa im so sorry.
Yeh Grahame hasnt had chicken pox before. Have been searching online about it and if it does happen he gets it now can cause infertility, not to mension he can get quite sick from it. Its just something we cant risk unfortunately, no matter what the odds are. It is very disappointing, i had Annika's bottles here ready, sterilized and filled with water, your room will remain set up and ready to go when you get here (i might dust inbetween) .. ah well.. guess the count down begins again.. hoo hum.
-
That is dissapointing.Would you need to wait for 2 weeks or roughly the incubation period time? I have seen shingles in an elderly lady at a nursing home and she got it on the face and around the eyes. She ended up going blind because the stupid hospital we sent her too never fixed her properly.
I am exhausted! We cleanded the yard,i vaccumed and mopped, general cleaning(beds etc) 3 loads of washing,a round of buckwheat pancakes which were not nice, some fairy cakes for millana(she helped make) then i made some tuna and mash potato croquettes for the girls and me and no one appreciated them except me so i nearly ate the lot with sweet chilli sauce. And i did food shopping with the girls and went to target because im after a 1 cup muffin tin.Didnt have it so off to woolies up the other end of town to see if the have one.
Sorry to bore you but thats my day! Im chuffed with what ive done but now my body is going arghhhh.
-
Caddie- I'm impressed! All I've done today is watch footy (Go saints! And Bombers for Df). Oh and I did pack one box.
Kell- Your right, best not to risk it. We get eldery patients sometimes at work with shingles and can look awful. We have to put them in a single room and wear gloves and gown to protect ourselves.
Ness- Did your grandad know he had shingles when he invited you? I'd be upset too! So have you rebooked yet?
oh we posted at same time, another few weeks.
-
oh ness you poor thing.....i had shingles when nicole was 3 months old and i gave it to her, i was hospitalised, was in a pretty bad way, it was my eldest jessica in kindergaten at school who bought the chicken pox home, and i had 4 kids under 5 with it and me........so it is best you dont go.....the nappies will be arriving at kellys this week?

Just a quick pop in. I am knackered.
Jett is ok, his nose is running like a tap and yellow to boot. He is still wheezing too but I have him on a antihistamine and decongestant mix with the vaporiser in his room. So far nothing really bad temp wise, just a little warm. Its going around though so hopefully its just a simple cold and he will be fine by next weekend. He is sooky though so my hands are full. I managed to sneak out to a party this arvo at a friends place for Princess House and Im having my own here tomorrow (the first time any of my friends here will have been to my house so I'll need to tidy up again, Jetts toys are everywhere already lol) We'll have 6 kids under 5 here so I think I'll be sending DH and the other guys out the back with all the munchkins and a football :cryinglaugh:
We have a full time walker though! He only crawls if he stacks it and is in a hurry but he walks to everything now. Im always turning around at the kitchen/bathroom doors and finding him walking along behind me. Its so cute. He's having issues with walking in shoes though, is that normal?
Better go I have a roast chicken in the oven and a potato bake that needs cooking.
I will be back on Monday being more sociable, promise!
Thanks for asking about Jett.
xoxo
