Haha no offence taken Anna! The pink is actually a bedskirt for the base of the ensemble, unfortunately I havent actually bought any boyish sheets etc for his bed yet, we're making do with what we've got. I think it looks rather liberal if I do say so myself (there are purple sheets under the doona) hehehe :p
Hope all those who are sick feel better soon (I know I'll be glad to see summer come, Im sick of runny noses and coughs).
Nelle, OMG that is so scary. Jett forgets to chew sometimes (because he shoves whole bits of things into his mouth) so I watch him like a hawk. Mostly he just spews it back up into his mouth and rechews, yeah I know charming isnt he
Jodi, haha Ry loved the quilt when I showed it to him the other night. He didnt know Id bought it for Jett. Now he's looking for army themed stuff to kit out J's room with. Ive been thinking of finding a khakhi parachute at a Disposal store to hang on the roof.
I am just so tired all the time now. I could sleep all day and still feel like Ive been up 3 days straight. I'll be so glad to have Ripley and go back to feeling my normal self. 13 weeks to go and I'll have my wish  its going by so fast dont you think Maz???
Anywho should go and do something useful like cleaning. BBL.
-
Hi all,
Nelle - how scary! Just goes to prove that you can't leave little ones by themselves when eating. It could happen to any of our bubs!
Anna - still breatfeeding here. First thing in the morning and last at night.
Ohh.. James is having a tanty. BBL
-
Meg - tell your firend to take arunning jump!!!! I had a midwifes appointment and she pulledc the pi$$ out of my kids names!!!! I put in a report about her at the hospital inthe end. It really hurts when people judge you about the name syou want for your kids. Ignore them honey :)
Kara - im sending you big hugs honey...I hope that life starts sorting its self out one way or another so you can start to get a clearer head. Give that little angle of yours a kiss from Vy please
Anna - TOLD YOU hehehehehehheeh pregga woman!!!!
Nelle - holly cow woman. I would absolutely freak if Vy chocked. We still have only got 3 teeth so molars are a lONG way off for us.
AnnaT - Yep I totally agree, this pg is going so fast, I feel like i cant catch my breath some days. IM starting to get braxtons harder to (bit scarey with my early labour $hit) and had a massive feeling of 'bubbles' in my ready girls - chicken tonights hehehheeh havenmt said that for ages!!!!!!
chrissy - ive just ordered some more of that green dot minkee and red...takes amonth to get here. im so glad you like the NB cover I have to make some more for me now.
Kell - we had roast pork to...hmmmmm great minds think alike
Hello everyone else...to tired to think now pmsl
BBL
-
Arrrggghhhhh f(@* ! Tested this morning and got a BFN, so really worried it may have been an evap line. Wonder what is going on? With my stoopid chromosome thing, I'm likely to have lots of chem pregnancies, but who know.
Huge congrats to Meg & Sharleen for still BF'ing! Great going! How long are you guys planning on going... to the WHO recommended 2 years or ?
-
morning girls, have to go out but just came on to say - Anna - please go out and buy another brand test to put your mind at ease that test different levels of hcg. Discover one step tests on 10ml of HCG...whats the level on the lullaby test?
-
20miu Belle... I thought that is pretty good?
-
I got some lovely dark BFPs on Confirm tests from 10dpo Anna even though the 'test 5 days before AF' HPTs were giving me super faint lines. Sometimes the dye is just not strong in certain tests. Are you 110% sure the test you did this morning is a negative?
I feel like crap. Jett's still sick with a runny nose and nothing I do fixes it. I have a headache and Im tired but I cant nap because I have to put dinner on, fold washing, tidy up and try and fix our finances so we dont get any broker than we already are. Doesnt help the weather is yukky either. What I wouldnt give for some 30deg sunny weather.
-
i used confirm at 9dpo and not fmu, and got a dark line, my lc were 10miu but only faint at 8-9dpo, the confirm brand was so much darker
-
Hi AnnaT- sometimes you just have to let a few things give. The laundry can be folded another day. Maybe get some take out for dinner? You need a well deserved rest.
Rikki - Hugs your way. Have a great time at the show.
Anna - you can get false negatives, but a positive is usually a positive. Give it a little time. (easier said that done I know!!)
Maz - that is horrible that the midwife commented on your children's names. I would put a report in too. Your children have lovely names. In fact I would possibly consider Violette for a girl. I would just have different spelling to you.
Kell - Hope you get a rest today too. I am ALWAYS tired. I probably will be till James is in high school!!!
Chrissy - must be busy in your house today!
Jodi - feeling any better?
Lauren - How is Rylee going with her sleeps?
Shell - have you ever watched "engaged and under aged" on foxtel? I am going to take a look at it tomorrow. I love reality tv!!!
Nelle - hows your preg going? Got any interesting cravings?
Sharleen - I most likely will continue to feed for the moment. I think I have more of the issue of weaning than James!!
Ness, Belle, Rach, Caddie, Vix, and everyone else. Hi!!!
Has anyone else had any luck with their bubs spoon feeding themselves? I have to help James get the food onto the spoon, then he will feed himself. He has a gist of it. I suppose it will get better with practise. Also he is using his left hand. I am a left hander, and I had hoped that James would be a righty. Everything is designed for right handers!
-
Morn all.
We are still breastfeeding mostly. When I'm at work she gets a bottle and when we are out she gets a bottle cause she will not BF when there are distractions.
Nelle- That is so scary with the choking, typical boy though wanting to scoff his face!
Meg- I love all those reality type shows on MTV and VH1, so addictive.
Anna- As the other girls have said maybe try a different brand test, one that shows up earlier? Fingers crossed for you this is the worst part just not knowing whether it is or isn't.
Rikki- Big hugs, hope you sort out everything that is going on in your life and with little Ainsleigh, hopefully these appt's will give you some answers and ways to prevent further problems.
okay gotta get off, have an unhappy child here. How long do molars take to get thru? Her gum has been swollen and sore for like a week or more now.
-
Here I am sitting on here again when I should be getting busy!!!!
Dame you anna - now i want to repaint and tile my kitchen!!!!!!! heheheh im not going to say anymore on the tests...the girls in here know so much more then me. Ive jsut got my fingers and flaps crossed for you!
Meg - VY feeds herself with a fork but might try a spoon now. SHe also 'tries' to comb her hair..not easy for a girls with gurls.
AnnaT - when you heading down this way again????? When do we hit the third trimester?? 26 weeks?
My sinus's are infected again..grrrr sick of feleing it dripping down my throat (sorry TMI)
Now thats it im going ot go sewing!!!
-
I was thinking of taking a trip to Shepp when J and I are over these colds, we should meet up for lunch or coffee or something! Is there a kids festival thing on over there atm? Cant remember if it was at Shepp or not but I saw it advertised on TV the other night. Um as far as I know Tri 3 starts at the end of week 26, so the day you turn 27wks (1st tri is 13wks, 2nd tri is 14wks, 3rd tri is 13wks = 40wks all up). So you have 2 weeks and I have 2.5. Holy fricken moly :o
So Ive done 2 lots of washing, dinner is on and J is having yet another nap in bed (must be a combination of the yuk weather, being sick and teething thats making him sleep like this). I need to run into town but I dont know if I can be bothered - we need toilet paper though :cryinglaugh:
-
Yep - there's a lid's festival on at Kids town and no way am I gonig..its always packed and Wilhelm woul dfreak out totally. Ther eis an indoor playcentre called giggle kids thats good for littlies. We should meet there. OMG i jsut htink the same as you..its gone way to quick and im sick of my undies digging in and giving me that double gut look!
Right going now hehehe
-
annat - I can provide the 30 degree weather, all you have to do is come up my way :D
shell - Nina's molars come through in about a week. But I suppose everyone is different.
Meg - Nina can feed herself with a spoon or folk. The other day all she had in her hand was a peg, so she used that to spoon her food onto and fed herself!
Nina's in bed, and I'm going back to the lounge to watch a movie which looks pretty interesting.
-
oh i am so jealous of you girls talking about molars!!!!!!!!!
Vy still only has 3 teeth and the third has just only borken through!!!
JOdi - pmsl at using a peg for a spoon....
god im stil on here!!!!!!!
-
HI ladies, just a quickie from me to let you know a bit of info. I have known this for a month I just keep forgetting to share.
For those with little boys-playing with themselves is more than normal. It helps with their foreskin. I asked the clinic sister about it last time we went as I didnt know how everything goes with how old when it can be pulled back etc. She said that when he is 2, when he is in the bath I should encourage him to play with it(I bet I dont have to. PMSL) and that will help stretch it and clean it and it will start coming back, but he wont be able to fully pull it back until he is older. So there you have it playing with themselves is what they are meant to do.
For those with older boys, how did you all go with all of this stuff. Leith and I have agreed that he will be the one to tell and do everything with Eithan. I will probably just do the "hey Eithan make sure you clean everywhere like daddy told you" routine when he is in the bath.
Rikki-Take care hun I hope some of the things going on have settled down.
Maz-Where do you source your material from? NZ or US or somewhere else exotic. No reason, just curious.
Love
-
Helen - I just tell the boys to remember to clean their dudies as we call them. We're prettyopen about stuff like that and have already had the sex and No means no touching talk with Nikolaus. I ge tmy material from the UK, America and Lincraft. I try to stay away from Spotlight cause nearly everyone in the field so to speak buys from there. Ive jsut got my hot little hands on some more yummy dot minkee from the states...have to wait 4 weeks for it though :( and I ordered some reindeer fleece that has gone walkies according to the seller...not happy jan!
Ness - Ive been cleaning like a mad woman stupid nesting bug!!!!!! I have to clean it today again too....I hate mondays after Jed's bene home...always seems mesier after he goes back to work.
-
PMSL maz - get back to your sewing!!!!!!!!!
Nina's mouth is almost full of teeth now, I've lost count *ducking for cover!*
yeah sharleen got your message just today. Nina decided last week after doing wees & poos on the potty (clever chicken) that she would drop my mobile in the potty! :doh:We didn't realise she was playing with it. So I've just got a replacement today.
Thanks for that Helen. That might come in handy if I have a boy next.
My muffins are almost ready, and Nina's just woken up. bbl
-
Jett is circumcised so I just wash it like normal. He plays with it sometimes but for the most part it isnt interesting to him yet. He is facinated with Daddy's though and Ry hates when he pulls on it in the shower. I told him to suck it up, ofcourse he is going to be curious about it, its a bigger version of his (except Ry isnt circ'ed). He's glanced at my vajayjay before when we've showered together but was more fascinated by the fact I had hair down there he could try and pull (yep one of my "cant see it so cant shave it" days  )
We've just about got a full mouth of teeth here too, sorry Maz :) We're waiting on his 1yo molars and incisors to cut and then we're done til the 2yo molars make an appearance.
-
Maz.. hope youre roast pork was as yummy as ours!
Meg.. me too! Even though i do get a good amount of sleep.. generally in bed around 9.30am and wake at 7am i still feel like crap! I reckon its because im not sleeping as heavily as i use to with Jesse, listening out for him etc. But yeh until they move out i reckon it wont get any better! Wow go James with using the spoon.. havent even tried with Jesse. He eats finger food etc himself but i still spoon feed him sloppy stuff. Maybe i should start giving him a go hmmm. How did you start though? Like what foods did you give him?
Helen/AnnaT.. yeh Jesse is circumcised too. He does enough playing himself atm too pmsl! But i do make sure its cleaned each bath. Jesse just stares at Grahame's in the shower. He hasnt seen me in the shower. But the other day i was laying on the floor with a singlet top on, he crawled over and pulled my top down and had a look in. When he saw my nipple he ran a mile! He then came back for another look and did the same! Crazy kid!
Nessa.. hi chick. Grahame's working. I really should do some cleaning myself hehe.
Anna**.. hope that test is just a fakey! Id get a diff brand too.
-
Ruby has 8 teeth,im sure a molar is coming though because it looks swollen?
Anyways,me got a sore throat and runny nose so feel crap.
Hope the next hpt is a big positive anna.
Rikki hope things get easier for you soon. You just dont get a break! I feel for you mate.
My parents will be home in the next week or two.Wish it was now so i can have a nana nap.
sniff,sniff,cough cough.
-
Caddie - are your parents home for good then? how fab honey cause I know how much you didnt want them to go. I hope you dont get to sick big hugs!!!
Ness - pmsl at you woman....
Kell - I find that if I go to bed later im better in the morning god knows why. Im in bed by 11pm most nights, vary rare that im in be earlier and im up at 7 - 7.30am.
AnnaT - ROFL vajayjay mines called the front bum
Ok now its maz needing advice.....
I really want to BF big time again and just want to know if there is anything I should do now that will help..any advice is good advice :)
-
Hey all,
Why do other people care what you call your kids - I mean seriously havn't they got anything better go do with their brain, what difference does it make to their life what YOUR kid is called, ok got that off my chest!
Way to go to all the Mums who are still breastfeeding, that is great. Man, all the pg girls pregnancies are going so quick, I can't believe Anna/Maz in 13 weeks you guys will be on here telling us about your new little one.
Kara - Hugs to you, great you are seeing a specialist, you are doing everything to help your litle girl and are a fantastic mum so be kind to yourself.
AnnaT - hope you get some energy soon.
Maz - Ryle has only got two teeth - so still a bit of a gummy bear.
Meg - thanks for asking about Rylee's sleep - what usually happens here - goes to bed between 8 - 9 pm, wakes 45 mins later, goes back to sleep in 5 mins then comes into our bed about 2 am in the morn and sleeps till 8 am - not bad - at least I am getting some sleep and we got her out of those horrible staying awake until 11 pm at night.
Anyway, gotta go, hi to everyone else, gotta give her some breaky.
Laurin :)
-
Maz-Ummmmm let me have some thinking about it, I know that I did heaps to BF Eithan and it was hard so I will get back to you soonish.
AnnaT-PMSL.
Caddie-Whoohhhoooooooo on parents coming back.
Kell-PMSL. Eithan isnt circ-hence why I was concerned.
I have 3-4weeks to get everything organised ready for building, eeeeeeeek. Sorry if my posts of late and in the near future arent as attentive to everyone, I still love you all though.
Love
-
maz - have you checked out the Aust Breastfeeding Assoc. See what sort of things they offer as in support groups, or even booklets. I went to a 'learn to b/f' type class while I was pg with Nina, and bought a few books off them.
How is everything going with building and selling the house Helen?
-
Maz.. Jesse has 8 teeth. But i bet you Vy's will all pop up at the same time. He got the last 3 in one go. She'll get there :)
I really wanna have a good go at BF next time round too. I wish id tried harder this time, but i guess it wasnt meant to be.
Helen.. yeh fair enough, i prob would be too. Good luck with the building!
-
Maz, I have some recipes for milkshakes and cookies and stuff to boost your milk supply but unfortunately I cant help with latching issues, Jett was crap at it even though I apparently have fabulous bf nipples (who knew!?) according to the midwives who delivered me.
I think Jodi's suggestion of the ABA is a good one, I know they run classes and tutorials here every week about things to do with beastfeeding. Im waiting for a "new mothers bf' one before I start going.
-
Maz- Like the others have said maybe contact ABA, other than that all I can offer is lots practice! I was lucky with Ash she latched on well but those first few weeks I would put her on the breast all the time just to get the hang of it for me and her. I guess with 3 other kids it might make that a bit difficult to be doing it all the time but if Jed is around maybe in those first few days just anytime she looks at you chuck her on the breast.
My oven in my new place must work alot better than old one cause the food cooks alot quicker! I burnt things today cause i didn't expect them to cook so quickly.
Df has given me his cold so I'm sniffly and feeling crappy.
-
MAZ honey im a member of the ABA so I can send you the monthly newsletters as I receive them as I dont need them anymore hon. Also your welcome to borrow their book that I got free when I joined its great. PS... did you get my package yet??????
Ive got a migrane girls yukko so will be back tomorrow.
Julia's got 6 teeth at the moment 4 up top 2 down below and 2 coming either side atm.

Maz and Ness - James was a TERRIBLE feeder to start with. In fact, I would try and get him on, he wouldn't know what to do, then I would have to express and syringe feed him. This went on for the first 2 weeks! He didnt even know how to suck with a bottle. I found the while thing a horrible experience. I ended up going in with James after he was born and spent the day in a "clinic" That was great. It made a big difference. Anyway I hope that info helps.
James received a musical toy from Mattel. I just found out that it has been recalled. so I guess I will be posting it in tomorrow.
-
thank you all so much girls. I hav eno problem with the latching...just my dame milk supply and how to keep it up. Jed has informed me that he is taking amonth off to help me with the kids especially seeing that it is going to be school holidays.
Ness - great idea at joining the ABA and girls i really cant thank you all enough...Ive written it down in a note book and will ring ABA tomorrow now.
SHell - pmsl at you burnig stuff..so its jsut not me.
Bel - you are such a naughty girl I cried you b'iartch. Thank you honey im sure this little bundle is going to be extra spoilt. Tried to ring you.....will try tomorrow once Jeffrey um sorry your migraine is gone love your jeffrey
Meg - It took us 3 months to get our thomas the tank stuff back on recall...so annoying cause Nikolaus bought alot of his own thomas trains just the week before hand.
-
Maz, Cobes was telling me that experts or whoever are thinking that when you let the baby attach on it's own, that can be a great start to attachment, instead of us fiddling around with things. Apparently they know what to do instinctively and we sometimes confuse them?
Mmm Rans just brought me a cold milo.
-
Nelle - that makes so much sence. thanks hon
must say it feels funny so many of us being pg and all at different stages..sort of like us all being belly buddies again and for those who arent pg..you can be our birthing support partners ;)
oh I feel the need for a slurpy coming!!!!!
-
Nelle - I think that does make sense too.
-
Maz - just thinking as soon as bubs is born to put her straight on the boob - 'they' say babies are really alert when first born and if you are going to bf to put them on straight away and they naturally seek out the boob like Nelle said it is a part of their natural instincts, I guess cause they are just little mammals wanting a snuggle and a feed from mum....
-
Maz - Having Jed off for a month when your new bubs is born is a fabulous idea. It will be great for your milk supply as you will have more time to feed (and rest which is also important for supply) - the more often you put bubs to the boobie, the more your body gets the signal to make more milk. I used fenugreek with great success, as well as Activite by the bucketload. I'd also recommend joining the ABA. Oh, and you CAN BREASTFEED this bub. Don't buy bottles, formula or anything that sets you up for the wrong start. You wont need it as you can do it this time.
-
Lauren - I have actually put down on my birth plan that I want to BF bub straight away in recovery. I have to have a c/s under general anni but I did the same with Vy and the midwife was absolutely wonderful
You girls I could kiss the whole bl00dy lot of you. Who said you cant teach an old dog new tricks!!!!
-
Just popped in to say good morning.
Nessa.. hope youre feeling better today.
-
Maz - its mums birthday today so having lunch with her, so will be home after that matey. yes my migrane is gone today, yesterday was horrible had some horrible ick factors that lasted all day long story but still stressed where did all my coping mechanisms go???????????????????????? aughh...
