Marni- Hi and welcome to our group!
AnnaT- yay on the BFing going so well. Hopefully in the upcoming weeks Rip will become a bit more settled. Maybe try baby hammock? I never used one but have heard great things about them for unsettled bubs. Some places rent them out so you don't have to go out buy one.
good evening ladies :)
welcome marni to our wonderful group :)
your daughter has such a beautiful name! Thats one of the names we have in mind for a girl. My hubby made it up the other day and it sounded so beautiful. im gonna have to break the news to him thats theres another little girl out there with that name. We have both never heard it before. only thing is we would spell it differently :D
as for a boys name we have only one picked out...damn boys names are hard!!
i missed out on alot on these boards and dont have time to read back and catch up. could someone tell me whats happened with annie?? i hope she is ok!
helen- im so sorry to hear your news hun but as someone mentioned i hope its just a period you can get whilst being pregnant xoxoxox
annat- well done on the breast feeding!! keep up the good work
im really wanting to breastfeed this time round, mainly cause it will be so much easier than making bottles with a crying baby who would wake up a sleeping toddler in the middle of the night lol
but also cause i wasnt able to do it the first time round. im a little anxious though cause im worried i wont get enough sleep with bubs constantly waking for a feed. (im going on the info that breast milk digests faster so babies need more feeds??) i hope i dont sound selfish but hubby works night so when he goes back to work i wont have anyone to help me if savanna wakes up from bubs crying. ill be on my own in the middle of the night with two crying children...i guess thats my biggest fear atm. can the mums who breastfed help me out here please!! savanna was a fantastic sleeper once she had her formula. 3 hourly feeds like clockwork then by 6 weeks she was sleeping through the night. how did your breastfed babies do?
any info would be great as im really anxious about breast feeding but would also like to give it ago.
maz- thinking of you hun! going to check the other thread to see how bubs is doing..
night night ladies
luv ambz
xoxoxox
Each baby's different Ambzy baby, so I can't tell you bout what yours'll be like, BUT Riv was pretty much a 3-4 hourly feeder from day dot. He was sleeping through by 6 weeks too. So I suspect it might be more of a temperament thing than a b/f vs formula thing? *nelle sends up yet another prayer for another low maintenance baby - no harm in asking, right?* :p
I found b/fing challenging at first, with the nipples getting toughened up, but kept telling myself, just get to 6 weeks, just get to 6 weeks, and at 6 weeks I could see how far we'd come, and things were falling into place! And then, it really becomes worth it when, no matter what time, no matter where you are, you can feed - breastfeeding is just so convenient!! :D And as they get older and more independant, it's nice for there to be that one thing that still only mumma can give.
So, I'd definitely say, be prepared to work at it, expect to have challenges - but I highly recommend you give the booby-juice a shot this time round, it's so worth it.
Yay for school going back Chrissy! :D
I could go to bed, or I could wait for Rans to come back from his concert (he's seeing Dreamtheater), and ask for a slurpee...:p Hmm...
Good morning Girls - wishing you all a wonderful day!!!
Welcome Marni to the Sept 06 baby buddies.
Maz - praying for you.
AnnaT - you are doing a fabulous job - just remember that - Rylee is taking about two hours to settle at night now - I thought I had her sorted out but she has reverted to her old ways......
Helen - how are you doing?
Ambz -not long now....
Okay, have a great day everyone.
Laurinxxx
Helen - I really hope you received some positive news yesterday, thinking of you :hugs:
Chrissy - Hope Caity goes ok today with the bigger kids going back to school, Ambah was most upset yesterday :(

MAZ - Thinking of you
HI all
Ambz - nothing up with me.. I think AnnaT was thinking about Anna**.. gets very confusing when we are both Anna's with little boys Alexander! lol
Helen - my thoughts are with you, hope that all is well at the u/s today
MAz - again thinking of you and your family
xoxo
Hi girls.....thank you all for you thoughts for Mateauz. He's getting stronger by the day and with a bit of luck will be out of the hummi crib sometime today. He has alot of blood clots around his brain and a grey area in the middle...dont know the long term affects but he may end up with some brain damage as yet. He is on double dose antibiotics for his strep b infection...which the docs think contributed to his clots. He is of the fluids on the drip cause he is bfing so well (every 4hours and for 40 - 50 mins) and his out is good. Docs said that my immune system and quick thinking probably saved his life. It was very close there at one stage and honestly i have never been so scared in my life. He has to be on antibiotics for 3 weeks and have further tests down the track for the clots ect. Im going home on sunday cause Jed starts work next week and i need to be home for my other babies.....god I miss my kids. Wilhelm starts school today and I cant even be there for it.
Helen -I hope today goes well and that you have positive news to share with everyone late
thanks again for all your thoughts and wonderful prayers girls. will try and get back on later when I know more and need some time out
have a wonderful day eveeryone
xxmaz and mateauz
Maz- If you want any company while your in there I'm always nearby. Its awful seeing what you and your family are going thru. I bet all the BFing has helped him heaps too cause all those great things in breast milk will be going in his little body to help him fight that infection. I'm praying there are no long term affects from this. Do the Drs think Mat will be able to go back up on sunday or will he have to stay down here a while longer?
Helen- Hope all is ok? Let us know when you feel up to it what is going on.
Ambz- I'm with what Nelle said to. Ash was BF yet she was different to River, she started sleeping thru by 8 weeks but then started waking again more often, partly I think it could have been me cause I did used to rush in at the slightest noise but I guess you just need to see what temprement this child has. And just take each day at a time, see how you are coping etc. Will your parents still be taking Savanna on weekends? Cause at least that way you can rest up alot then, try sleep when new baby sleeps.
Maz- Thanks for popping in honey. Been thinking about you all the time.
Ambz- co close now!! waiting for a message to say you have popped!!!! I am praying to BF this baby too. but I think information is the key. With the girls i was very ill informed and didnt know what was normal or not. But no i know that was i thought was wrong with the girls was actually right.
Playgroup starts back today and im not even dressed and I am hungry too.
Back later
I have some friends from playgroup pooping over shortly too.8 kids running a muck.lol Hope my girls behave as millana been up snce 530am.
I was sick last night too.Woke up feeling extremely hot, dizzy ready to chuck.I went to sleep and woke up not too bad.. Strange.
Ruby crying she has a red bum. mmm
nice to see you here maz. I been thinking of you and all you been through and its not fair.
Great to see you Maz! Do you have any idea what the long term possibilities are, or is it all a bit unsure? We're so proud of you and your breastfeeding, the dr's are right, I bet it helped him to fight off the infection much more effectively!!
For the last 10 minutes a stupid fly has been determined to sit on my foot - has kept River thoroughly entertained though! Cept he's gone off to poo, I can smell it. Guess I'll change him and put him down for a nap in a tic.
Hope everyone else is well.
Hi everyone! Thanks for welcoming me, though at the moment I am still a bit confused as to who everyone is and their children, but I will get there eventually I am sure.
Is everyone having their second or more babies? Or is there still a couple of mums with only one?
Marni- It sure feels like eveyone in here is preg again or have more than one! There still is a few of us with just the one at the moment (me included). You'll soon catch on to who everyone is, took me awhile.
Caddie- Hmm you sure you're not utd?
We've had a nice morning, took Ash to the park, she had a ball. There was a little boy there bout 3-4 and Ash ran up to him as she does with most kids and so funny he got scared and ran off closer to his mum, was very cute though.
Nah,hope not shell. I think it could been the coeliacs maybe? I will have to ask them i think.I may have been glutenised. I have been hit miss with the pill.I usually miss a day then take 2.I am so bad and last month when i missed a day and was confused discovered id missed 3 pills. But i know if i was because my body tells me straight away with sore boobs!
Helen thinking of you.
Maz give mat a kiss from all of us.
