belle - panadol every 4 hours, cool washer on her forehead, cool bath, plenty of water. Don't hesitate to take her back up to emergency if her temp doesn't go down during the night.
Fingers crossed this works.
helen - pmsl!! I'm having thoughts of you being stuck on your back. Glad you had a good time. And that's great news that you haven't had any chest pains lately.
Belle hope julia gets better soon. I find the combination of panadol and then half hr later nurofen helped lower it for ruby. You poor thing, its horrible having our kids unwell.
Helen had to laugh! Sumo suits sound like such fun! Glad your heart is feeling a little better.
Maz goodluck at all your appointments for your boys.Your such a good mum. You should get mother of the year!
Ive been at a coeliacs expo all day.Kid free! It was great and tried so many yummy gluten free foods. They also had this machine from germany (i want one) that basically does everything! Made rissotto in 16mins,a sorbet in 2 min. Does custard, icecream, cooks meals. But at $1800 dollars id have to give aron lots of favours.lol
Ruby has had not had a sleep all day. But believe it or not she is running around. Oh dear.lol
Thanks girls gave her nurofen and bath settled her a bit, just tried to take her temp and she stuck the ear themometer in her mouth sigh and sucked the metal bit, im so worried, it should be ok shouldnt it? wouldnt be poisenous for her? im beside myself. We didnt have any more plastic ear cover things that go over the themometer.
Belle, if you are worried maybe call the hospital where you were at and tell them whats going on, see if they have all her results back from the tests she had.
Don't worry bout the thermometer it won't poison her. Those plastic covers are more to just protect passing anything from one person to the next when using it.
shell thanks hon so it doesnt matter she was sucking the metal bit?
Im so scared doesnt help my PND
Oh Belle I hope Julia bounces back soon. Just remember that a fever is her way of fighting off an infection - so in a way, it's a handy defence mechanism. If you do bath her, don't make it too cool as it can send the temp up even higher. Ear wax wont harm her, just taste gross - I'm assuming you are using one of the newer digital thermometers? It's only the really old style ones (the glass ones with the mercury bulb) that can be a problem - and that is only if they break. The digital ones are safe hon.
thanks Anna yep its a ear themometer a newish one digital... so hopefully ok. shes sleeping now so will check her temp again at 10.30pm when I go to bed and give her panadol.
I hope she has a good night belle. I forgot about the panadol and nurofen like caddie suggested. That should do the trick. Hopefully you're handling all this ok belle. I know it must be hard on you too. Try not to worry too much about it though. She will be ok. You're doing a fantastic job with her. Is Jeffrey around to help?
maz - completely missed your post, ooooopsie! :D
Good luck this week with Mateauz's appointments. He's a big boy now, in a cot  Glad to hear the b/f is still going strong for the two of you.
How were Whilelm's appointments? Is everything ok, or were they sort of routine appointments?
Nina has been such a good little girl since we discovered the ear infection a week ago and treated it. It's great having our little princess back to normal. She's certainly got her appetite back too. You should have seen the amount of vegies and meat she ate at dinner, little piggy she is! Whenever I tell her it's lunch or dinner, she goes into the kitchen saying 'yum yum' and looks in the pantry.
Belle, hugs mate. The thermometer thing should be fine - even if it's a mercury one it should be fine because it's not broken. And to further ease your mind, my little sis bit into a mercury thermometer when she was little and it went everywhere! And she's fine. A bit silly and absent minded but apparently that has nothing to do with the thermometer. :p
Sorry, I can't possibly catch up with you guys, on mum and dad's slower net, plus their computer chair's pretty uncomfy!! Dad made me a coffee and it's going to make the baby a bit nuts, but he'd already made it! Ah well.
Helen, had a good giggle at the thought of you on your back like a beetle! Those suits are just so fun aren't they.
Anna, I gasped when I read about your dog, hope it's okay.
Maz, thinking of you guys with all your tests and appts - please please keep us posted, and as if you're you you you, it's all about balance - you mostly show an interest in others, so we know you care! Which entitles you to a me me me post, because we share each others journeys! We all know that's how it works here!
(By the way, mum's very proud of Mateauz for rolling so early! :p You can tell him 'Aunty Mrs Nelle's Mum' says hurrah.)
Caddie, is that the Thermomix machine or something? Like a spaceship that goes in your kitchen?? That's grouse you got to see one in real life!!! They sound amazing (if not pricey, you're right!).
Anyway, had enough, this chair is uncomfy, and now mum and I are talking about the Thermomix! :p Love to all you guys I didn't mention (and there's a LOT of you!)
Bring on the cool change...
belle,
i found out from a friend today that if you give them a bit of lemonade that it helps with the high temps as the wch here in adelaide have told her to do it with her little one. it just an idea. hope she getts better soon
Adele
Thanks Adele, yeah they gave us lemonade icypole last night for Julia she licked it twice but thats it...but your right I will try again tomorrow morning with some lemonade.. good idea.
Nelle - thanks mate, you put a smile on my face.
Jodi - thanks too mate, yeah JEffrey around but tomorrow goes back to work, not taking Julia to daycare tomorrow will be home with her.
Belle - how is Julia this morning - how was she through the night - hope her temperature is on its way down...let us know how you both are.
Laurin xxx
Maz-When is the appointment for the boys? I hope that all goes well.
Belle-If she is having trouble keeping her fluids up, have you thought of getting her some electrolyte icypoles. When Eithan was really sick he had these, plus we put some unfrozen ones into his drink bottle. It really helps if they are dehydrated.
Ummmm I forget so quickly what you guys have said.
Oh Leith and I are TTC.
Love
Yay Helen
Maz, the relac isnt going so well BUT I am starting to have my odd leaking moments. Its hard to try and have him on the boob 24/7 with the inlaws here so Im going to give it one last crack after they leave when I can have him suck on the boob all the time without an audience and see what happens.
Im lurking :)
(My baby boy is 3mths old next week - holy moly!)
Belle- Is Julia any better this morn? How'd she go overnight?
AnnaT- Omg, nearly 3 months already! The time has flown. Good luck with the BF, if you feel uncomfotable with audience could you just go off somewhere quietly or put something over to cover yourself?
HelenP- Ooh good luck with ttc. I had to laugh at your beetle description I had this image of you flailing qround on your back!
Jodi- i wish Ash was that good an eater!
Anna- How is your poor little dog going? Recovering well?
Caddie- wow I wouldn't mind one of those machines. Sounds fantastic.
bring on winter I say, had enough of this weather.
Hi girls
She was no better this morning took her to the doc at 9am and just got back home now. Shes got tonsilitis on top of this viral infection, shes not a well bubba. Just given her Nurofen and shes sleeping, when she wakes up will give her her antibiotics. Me im not well either got the viral infection too :(
Thanks to those who have given their support during this time, I really appreicate it girls.
Belle- Glad to hear they have started her on anti-biotics she will feel sooo much better once she starts them. Didn't the hospital check her throat? I wouldv'e thought they would've started her on AB's if her bloods showed an infection.
