Yeah :(... Another thing though, Maybe you could express (regardless of if you get much) when she has those formula top ups just so you don't feel as though you are losing your supply through lack of demand IYKWIM...:goodluck: Goodluck with it, I hope someone else can give you some advice :).

hello all
just popping on quickly...
had a great weekend - lots of entertaining which was great
fianne - i reckon you would know it if she was hungry - there is no mistaking it with Noah!
ON that note better go as the little man is calling out for my attention now... (again!)
-
hi everyone
lp - does school start tomorrow on the sunshine coast?
fianne - perhaps just try breastfeeding her on demand - and then perhaps you'll find that your supply does increase. Max will let you know if she is still hungry.
noni - do you buy all of the ww snacks? i just had some fruit in jelly - worth 0 points!! And i like the choc chip cookies too.
cally - wow that it is cold down there!! it's kind of scary that we are having weird weather. I wonder what will be happening when our little ones are grown ups.
bilby - hannah feeds every 3 hours and is usually ready for a sleep after she's been awake for 2 hours.
-
tks lp and pregpan. pregpan, i know what you mean that i'd know if she was hungry....but she's very "needy" right now and i feel that it might be coz she's hungry. also, she's not sleeping long.
-
jazmum, i'm so bad at reading signs tho. :( thinnk it might just be my conscience. you think it's bad for me to keep on putting her on th bbs w/o a cry?
-
JaZmum ~ I thought school started everywhere in QLD tomorrow, Are private school holidays different? UH OH i hope i don't have the dates wrong!
-
fianne - it wouldnt' be bad for her - she will stop feeding if she has had enough. Sometimes i get the signs confused as well. I'll think she is crying for a feed, and then when i put her on - she'll do a huge fluff, or have a spew and then i'll go ' ok, she wasn't hungry then' lol. I was just reading a thread that Barb Glare replied to, and she said not to assume that you don't have a great supply if you don't get much milk when you express - based on the fact that it can be quite stressful. i can remember when i was expressing with Zoe, I sat for half an hour, and only got a couple of drops. I started thinking i had no milk, and then i kept going - and looked at a picture of Zoe, and out it came.
Lp - school starts next Tuesday !!!!! Thank goodness you found out now - i don't think you would have lived that one down!!!
-
guess i'm just concerned since i've always topped her up and because she does guzzle down the bottle when i give it to her. oh, and coz' she rejects/rejected the left side so i feel that she hasn't had enough. and i don't know if i'm only distracting her from her hunger with play. and am also worrying coz' she hasn't had a poo in a couple of days. thanks for the encouragement though. :)
-
hannah goes a week without poos, so i know what it's like to worry. i read somewhere that when they are having a growth spurt, they sometimes don't poo as often - as their little bodies take in all the nourishment they can. Do you express when you give Max the formula?
-
nope. dont express. nothing been coming out and bec we give formula after she's had breast milk.
-
off to the gym soon for my first class wish me luck i am feeling a lil nervous :)
jazmum - yeah i do buy the ww snacks their choc icecream is really good i also by the nibblies that they sell at meetings they are like rice cracker things really nice ones 1pt for a small pack :)
-
OH NO! Thankyou, THANKYOU JaZmum... I just checked! AH, what am i going to tell the girls LOL I'm such an idiot... I have been talking to people about it all last week & no one said anything! .. I even half packed the lunches PMSL
-
Have fun at your step class Noni - I wish i could come!... I could do with some buns of steel!
-
lp - you silly chook :) lol
fianne - now i'm with you. sorry, brain not quite working today.
noni - sounds good, i've just come back from a walk with dh and the girls. Then i went for a jump on the tramp and did some sit-ups too, so now i feel ready to tackle this spare tyre.
-
LP - Oh no - better to find out tonight!!
Fianne - I don't think she'll starve, your supply will adjust very quickly (ie 2 days), so just pop her on and feed her every few hours. I know with me, if K has a big sleep one night, the bbs are big, but if she does it again the second night, they have already adjusted and aren't nearly as big.
-
Hey everyone, got to go down the shops so will jump back on later just wanted to say,
Fianne I think that if you think she is still hungry then keep offering the breast, the more she suckles the more you increase your supply. She will let you know when she is hungry. I know how you feel though we are in the same boat.

Hi girls, I've never posted in these ones before. It would be good though to talk to others who have babies the same age as my DD. I guess it's like a mum's group online! I would love to know what changes or milestones your babies are having at the moment. for me its:
- DD becoming more clingy (cries when with other people)
- Feeding a bit less - could be teething
- sometimes looks like rolling and then gives up!!
- heaps of blowing raspberries - very cute!!
Be great to hear from you all!
-
Fianne - also that's great that you only did two top up feeds with formula yesterday. How often is she feeding? How did you go in Perth when you couldn't find the right formula?
Jordie - welcome!! DD (same b'day) isn't yet rolling over from her tummy either (and isn't really showing any signs of it). She is obsessed with sticking her toes in her mouth to suck on them and just the last couple of days she has started doing raspberries - so her clothes are getting even more wet than normal! As part of the raspberries, she is also sucking on her bottom lip. The last few weeks she has been really chatty too, 'talking' away to us and her toys.
Has everyone else named the toys? We are quite formal here (not sure why). We have Mr and Mrs Jitterbug and Miss Flutterbye (her favourite). Then we also have Ellie (she's an elephant). The rest are just monkey, giraffe etc. I feel a bit silly giving them names, but it makes playtime more fun, because they can have conversations together!!
Noni - hope the gym was fun. I'm looking forward to going back, but not sure when that will happen.
First mothers group of the year tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good night (no 3:30 bed times in MD's household!!)
