Leanne good luck with X's op.
Queenie congrats on S's brace coming off. Cute pic BTW.
Renee Happy Anniversary. Did you score soem chocolate or flowers? My two year wedding anni is this month too.
MD glad you had a good trip and welcome back.
Fianne I hope you managed to have a snooze.
Pregpan good idea getting N used to the creche before you go back to work.
Sherie how did the vacc's go?
I wonder where LP is? I hope she pops in soon and that all is well with her and her tribe.
I am sick of the rain, I have so much washing to do and the clothes horse just isn't cutting it. I also haven't been able to get out for a walk so I am starting to climb the walls.
-
Hello everyone, thinking especially of Leanne today, hope it all goes well for X!
Sherie, GL for you today too, there's another lil op happening in your family, isn't there?
BTW soooo meant to say g'day to SupaB, good to see you've been back online and everything is well with T! :D We're all dying to see if McLouds comes back on so we can play Spot the Thread Buddy in the exercise class scene!
Katie, it's raining at my house but we have a dryer (it was the first appliance we bought when I was pg with DD1 - and still going strong LOL)! Can you umbrella-up and head out anyway, sometimes it's nice out when it's raining.
OK, well it's back to school today at my house and I left DD half smiling half frowing, I have *no idea* whether it's going to be a good year for her. We've got some schooling issues to get onto this year, her teacher last year was completely flakey and H has missed whole chunks of instruction (didn't hear? didn't understand? wasn't motivated to listen? I don't know). Also we found out she has an auditory processing problem, which means sometimes stuff is garbled by the time it reaches her brain and things like mental maths and spelling tests that are delivered verbally are a challenge on a good day and impossible on a bad day. Anyway she's a bright kid and can't be doing too badly because they've put her in a 4/5 instead of a 3/4 - but I just hope she gets off to a good start with the teacher.
-
Leanne - Im thinking of Xavier today. Hope everything goes well, im sure it will :)
Also thinking of Noni, I hope her plane trip went well.
Hope she has a good day at school Marydean. Hope she has a lovely teacher too. Let us know how she goes. Are they going to put her at the front of the classroom so she can hear better??
Rory is chatting away in his bed at the moment. We just got back from getting his needles. He only cried for a second after the last needle. He is such a brave little boy. I love him soooo much.
No choccies or flowers but I got a nice bottle of wine :) I have been promised a prezzie on Saturday. I suspect he is getting someone to buy it for me because he works days a week, Sunday being his only day off.
And a completely off topic question; Does anyone here use Dermalogica?? How do you find it??
-
Renne I LOVE Dermalogica and having been using it for years.
Oh no Logan likes the Teletubbies, he hasnt taken his eyes off the TV and is even smiling. Very cute but I really cant stand Teletubbies, oh well if he likes it I can put up with for 20mins.
-
Well so far the teacher seems pretty good, they'd only been sitting there for 3 minutes and she'd already said how much she loves being a teacher and how she likes to have fun with her class, and I could see she sort of 'lit up' when she said it which is always a sign of someone's who's passionate about what they do (which usually goes with being good at it too).
Yay for brave boy Rory! :)
Katie LOL at Teletubbies, they all LOVE TTs! Altho I've got to say that E, unlike her older sister, is very visually driven, she already cranes around to stare at the telly in a way that H never did (I think H is more auditorally driven, she'd bop away anytime there was music on and had to chat constantly which E doesn't).
-
Renee I use Dermalogica too - my local "beautician" (i.e. person who has seen my bits more than my obstetrician LOL) stocks it. Lots of places in Melb have it but dunno about Perth. I think P{regpan uses (or used to) it too - she might know. Does strawberry dot com (??) have it? yes she seems happier without teh brace - kickickickick but is a bit harder to settle!
-
hey all back from the big trip:)
wow you guys have been busy chatting away while ive been away, ive sort of skimmed through the posts but i dnt think i will ever catch up lol..
lol teletubies Asha loves high 5 and shes always tying to stare at the tv if its on...
holiday was great little Tarry is sooo beautiful will have to post some pics of him n Asha later they are so cute together :) where they live is beautiful too (warburton) its almost 2hours out of melbourne via public transport.. nice mountainy area with a river running through that everyone goes swimming in... was great to see my friend although as soon as it was time to go home i started missing her!! looks like shes coming down in march though to see his family (they arent together atm) they live in wollogong which is about an hour from here so will be able to see her lots then...
he has his hearing test on the 8th (Tarry) so my fingers are crossed for them!! its a small country hospital so its not done straight away like up here.. not sure how thats gonna go sometimes it seems like he can hear and sometimes not so hard to tell with a newborn sometimes it could be a matter of how alert he is at the time rather than if he can hear or not we will see i suppose...
hmmmm what else... the plane ride was alright..i took half a valium before we left home on the way there and was still nervous but i figured as long as i could get on the plane i didnt need more than that.. i get a little sick on planes too i think that contributes to the nerves coz i know i'll feel sick.. its during take off and if i am flying in the morning it lasts about 15mins past that.. on the way back i didnt really feel nervous i didnt take anything ut flying in the avo (keep in mind this is only my second trip lol) the sickness seems to last about half an hour after take off :( wasnt too bad though..
Asha was great fell asleep half way through take off both times lol.. not a fan of landing though the pressure got to her a little bit.. on the way back we had a really slow descent too because of the storm so she was not happy there out came the panadol lol but that only worked for about 10 mins then we fed her when she wasnt due for a feed and it released her pressure and she stopped crying but she spewed everywhere lol coz she was still full from the feed before, she didnt mind though lol...
all in all she was really good though she happily slept in the travel cot they gave us, i lined it over the sheet they gave us, with some wraps of hers so it was familiar and she seemed happy in there...
shes also started sleeping through the night without a feed... shes eating at about 8pm and sleeping through till 7am when she comes in with me and then eats at 8 - 8:30 generally and her bottles have gone from 2x150 and 3x180 - 1x210 when she wakes up and the rest 180 usually finishing them.. shes still not having solids atm as she seems content with the milk so we are leaving it at that for now then when we go for her 4mth needles (currently about a week overdue now oops) we will see how her weight is going and go from there...
anyway best be off before i bore u all to death lol lol
ETA - queenie thats so good she has he brace off and is happy must have been a relief to you to see it come off :)
-
Yep strawberrynet have it. Might buy it and give it a go! I have run out of my Clarins moisturiser and cleanser, which I love! But I feel like something new, like Dr Hauschka or Dermalogica which I have seen some rav reviews about) :) Im glad she is happier without it :) Love your ticker too btw! I was thinking how little & 'baby like' she looked and then I remembered that she is alot younger LOL...doh! Awwww they dont look like little babies for long Queenie!
Marydean - Im so happy she has got a good teacher! If a teacher actually enjoys teaching and inspiring children it makes such a huge difference doesn’t it! It can bring new life to a child at school.
-
hi everyone!!
Renee - happy anniversary - ours is next month and it is 5yrs of marriage and 10 together so I am hoping for something good!! LOL! re the dermalogica and dr hausch - your resident shopaholic can recommend both!!! i have used them both and love them - make sure you get what is best for your skin type though as they are both quite specialised ranges... Dr Hausch i know has starter/travel packs on strwaberry actually - i switched to that when my skin went haywire in preg and it is gorgeous. i am not onto dr brandt - love it! beauty consultationover LOL!
Queenie - YAY for miss s having her brace off, that is wonderful news!
MD - glad you had a good trip and that DDs teacher seems wonderful - i hope this is a good yr for her at school. education is so important. that reminds me we need to send off Noah;s school enrolments...
Noni - glad u had a wonderful trip. well done dealing with the nerves, i am sure it will be even easier next time.
Katie - Noah also loves TV, i had a whole thing that i didnt really want him to watch but he cranes around to look when I am watching. Npw I have a baby einstein dvd for him which he watches some days (only w me next to him the scaredy!!) and likes. I reckon he would LOVE TTs... may get onto that soon. What gaes are these shows for??
Having quite big dilemmas re return to work re what role to take... balance b.n mummy hood and full on career opps...
-
Noah's school enrollments...???!!!!! You're kidding us aren't you?
PS totally understand the balance dilemma, I'm looking to go back to work later this year and already I just don't know what sort of balance to strike...will you be going back PT, FT or is that part of what you're weighing up now?
-
Hi everyone!
Wow, so much to catch up on again LOL.
OK, Alisters vacc's went well this time. DH was very adamant that he have all of them, so even though it was against my better judgement, I deferred to him this time as what he said about it made sense - the 'bubble' we used to live in is getting bigger around here and our local area is becomming more diverse so it's not the same as it was when the other three were babies, and sofar no toxic nappies or vomiting to speak of (man I hope I am not speaking too soon) and only a minor temp last night and today. BUT I think he actually vomitted the entire RV dose up as he did a reasonable one immediately afterwards, and they can't give it to him again JIC. So I am happy with things as they stand.
Marydean, you've made me blush, thank you for your lovely comments about the kids :) Glad H has a great teacher this year. Yesterday Lindsay finally got an intro note from his teacher and I think she will be great too. She is local, but since being out of Uni she has done 4yrs in Dubbo teaching a special needs class and 4 years at Menindee (remote outback town, mainly aboriginal students) so she has certainly done the hard yards. Little old West Wyalong public will be a breeze for her LOL. And the 'op' is next tuesday, they did say he could go today, but he'd already arranged the time off for next week.
Renee, Happy Anniversary for yesterday hun, I hope the surprise pressie is worth the wait.
Queenie hun, Miss S is just the cutest little thing! So happy that she has the brace off during the day - must have been a very special day for you both I'm sure.
I can't remember what else has been said. Oh, I don't use products much at all LOL. I'm shocking at taking care of my skin. I do occasionally give it a scrub with some Body Shop vit E facial wash in the shower though. I'm lucky my skin doesn't seem to mind my lack of attention.
We have a TT video (yes, I know its old LOL) that was a hand-me-down from my youngest brother when mum had a clean out some years back. We also got the entire back collection from The Wiggles, when they were freshed faced and full of hope and the Big Red Car was still only a cardboard cutout. Alister is just starting to pay attention to what is on TV and will sometimes turn his head during a feed to watch it, which I just love
-
Sherie, glad A's vaccinations went well
Noni, good to hear your trip was good.
This time next week I will be in NZ. I think the final countdown is taking its toll. There was a mix up between the vet and the pet transport people and I took the cat all the way to the vet when only the dog needed to go. So I bawled my eyes out. In front of everyone. Oh well, at least I don't have to see any of those people again lol
W watches heaps of TV. I feel really guilty but he cranes around to see it. He likes any kids show and seems to be a sports fan. I took him away from the cricket today and he grizzled until I put him back. NZ wasn't even playing.
The power was out for three hours here today. It turns out there is very little to do in our house with out electricity.
-
Arte - Aww I'm sure they could understand why you were upset, moving to another country sounds like hard work! Maddie loves the tv and I get the guilts too, oh well can it really be that bad for 15 mins? Its still stimulating isnt it? How is the sale of the house coming along?
Sherie - Glad to hear that Alisters vaccinations went well. Such a brave boy!!
Pregpan - Wow enrolements already, far out I cant think that far ahead hehe. However I have heard that for some schools to get your child into them you have to put their name down practically as soon as they are born! I hear you on the whole work situation.
Renee - Congrats on the anniversary!! Did you end up getting spoilt? Yes we should definately catch up one day, are you NOR? I use cetaphil on my face and I have tried so many products and find cetaphil to be excellent. Havent tried dermalogica though, but I have heard great things about it.
Noni - Glad to hear the trip went well, we missed you around here.
Marydean - Yay glad you are back too, another one that we missed hehe. I'm sure E will have a good year at school.
Queenie - That is excellent news about the brace!!
Leemar - How did Xavier go at the hospital?
Yay finished work for the week. I still miss Maddie like crazy and get the guilts something chronic, but I think it will always be that way. On the other hand she seems to be enjoying it and always has plently of smiles and laughs for me when I go to pick her up.
-
Well I just read my previous post, Pregpan, sorry it sounded a bit rude...I just can't believe there are waiting lists that long you've got to think about it before you bub can walk or talk! I'm guessing there's a particular school you've picked out that you really really want him to go to?
Well, a big WOO HOO from me today. DH just rang, he's in your neck of the woods, Queenie, he's had some photos hung in an exhibition there and has flown down to stand next to them and smile for the day. Anyway he's just rung to ask me to look up where the Haighs shop is in Melbourne...my luck is in (yessssssss)!
Arte, tears allowed, with no exceptions, the week before a big move like that. Have a good cry (relief, tiredness, sadness, joy whatever) on the plane too! :) :) Sooooo excited for you  LOL at W's cricket watching, just goes to show it's a genetic trait, tied to the Y gene! LOL
Sherie, her special needs skills will be fantastic in the early childhood classes, she'll have lots of literacy and numeracy tricks. DD thinks her new teacher is strict (good IMO, DD's a bit prone to distractability and by the look of her school books last year got away with not doing large chunks of work :o)! I had a chuckle when I read about A vomiting up his vacc, you got to have your cake and eat it too :)!
Leanne, thinking of you, hope X's feeling ok after his op.
It was Whinge-o-Rama at my house yesterday, don't know why E was sooooo tired but it was griz griz griz. She's pooped today too, having a nice long sleep this morning!
-
quick post from me while max is preoccupied with her feet.
started trying for raspberries the other day. have got very slobbery chin. :)
products - don't use anything on my face either except water. am too scared to "mess with a good thing"....i don't have much acne or skin problems and am afraid that they'll start to surface if i start. i had my very first facial (at 36 years of age) last sunday. got a pamper voucher from friends during pregnancy but thought that i'd be better able to appreciate it after the birth so saved it til last sunday. massage was ok (not firm enough) and facial was....ok i guess. think it opend up my pores though so don't like looking in the mirror now seeing "holes" in my face.
sherie, glad to hear that a's needles went well. also, i was asking in an earlier post about infant's friend. how often do you give it and when? max has been waking up early morning and i'm pretty sure it's not hunger but gas that's bothering her. let's out these big fluffs as she kicks. bought some infants friend but not sure when to give it to her....before bedtime? in the middle of the night (like 3am feed)? only when she seem to be bothered? there's nothing on the box/bottle except to give before or after a feed.
leeann, how's x doing? hope all well with him.
hayley, can't really imagine leaving max with "strangers" so am pretty impressed that you're able to do it.
tv, i don't know what i'd do without it. keeps her occupied enough for me to get some things done. it's been a lifesaver. i figured, it's not as if she's addicted to it YET. it's just movements and colors and sounds. electronic version of wind blowing leaves on a tree that we're supposed to be letting them look at (at least accdg to this kiddie book or brochure i read somewhere).
brisbane/queensland ladies, how about a catch up? maybe we can schedule it while arte's still on this side of the sea and if arte finds a free half hour, can join us?
oh, noni, congratulations on conquering for flying issues. hope it's much better next time around.
sorry for any other missed personals. hi to all.
-
Arte, LOL at the cricket, such a boy thing to do ;) Have youself a nice hot bath if you can and have a good cry - its stressful enough to move two a different town let alone a whole other country. Let us know when you'll be going offline though OK?
Hayley, I can't imagine how hard it would be to go back to work. So you only do two days? The smiles and cuddles you get when you pick her up would make it all worthwhile Im' sure.
Marydean, you DH is just lovely - never in my life have I had DH call and ask directions to a chocolate shop so he can buy me some *sigh* . hehe about eating my cake ;) I think you might be right though - he hasn't pooed since yesterday morning and it was normal still whereas last time he was pooing every nappy. Lindsay's teacher certainly doesn't put up with much idle chatter in class apparently, but they will be thankfully for a slightly stricter teacher at the end of the year though.
LP hasn't been on since Jan 26 and its unlike her not to be on. I know she said they were taking the girls to Australia Zoo, but they would be at school now so they would be home by now. Hopefully its something simple like being too busy or computer problems or something.
ETA - Hi Fianne! I knew there was someone asking about the infants friend but I couldn't remember who LOL. I only give it before his last bottle at night, but not in the bottle, just from a medicine cup. The first three times I gave it before the last two bottles, so he had two doses of it, but now one is fine. I don't give a full dose either - a half one seems to do the trick.
-
Sherie I have been a little worried about LP too. I am sure her life is hectic with getting the girls off to school and playing with Miss Scarlet.
MD your DH sounds awesome. I wish my DH would bring me home some chocolates, he is in the bad books too today so he really should lol.
Noni good to hear you had a good trip and well done on getting through the flying.
Arte  I think you have been handling everything so well, I would have broke down ages ago. I cant beleive you move so soon, I am glad I got to meet you and Mr W IRL though.
Fianne lol at the slobery chin.
Hayley the smiles when you pick her up must make it all worth it.
Logan gives me cuddles when I ask now, I love love love it. He even squeezes. I am working on kisses too, man are they messy lol. Logan has fallen asleep having a feed and has stayed asleep, I cant remember the last time he did that.
-
hello everyone
gosh i am getting a bit behind after being away for a few days!!
thanks for the welcomes back :)
lost 0.1 at ww today lol just happy not to gain after a holiday of junk food lol i made myself do a pump class and a body attack class last night and its probably lucky i did haha...
katie - thats so beautiful with the cuddles!! how did you get him to do that?
sherie - glad master A's needles went well.. also hoping lp will be on soon and it was just a comp problem or shes busy or something..
fianne - although i dont like it Asha watches the tv too and sometimes its all that will stop her crying sometimes.. and other times i cant stop her looking at it lol she turns herself in the most akward positions to see it.. suppose i could turn it off lol but then i wouldnt get to watch it..
md - ooooh i walked past Haighs chocolate when i was in melbourne (talk about self control!!!) i kinda regret not atleast having a look though since everyone says how good it is..
haley - well done at getting through the childcare thing i am sure it cant be easy, your doing great!!
arte - dnt worry about the cry moving is soooo stressful!!!
pregpan - we will probably be putting Ashas name on a list for school next year at the schools open day so its easier to get her in when the time comes.. are you sending Noah to a private school?
