Good evening Everyone :D
ARTECHIM, have you travelled on the plane with bub before? We are off to visit the IL's in Perth in 2 weeks time and I'm quite nervous about the 5 hour flight with Charli. I'm also a bit worried about how she'll go sleeping at night in a different environment (and in a portacot). Does anyone have any travel tips???
RENEE, haha about Chris Judd! DH is a diehard WCE supporter (oh and of course he has a west coast dummy for Charli and wants her to get used to that one before we head over to Perth). He's trying to keep his faith in the weagles me thinks.
I hope little Rory is feeling better soon. Oh yeah, have you only just recently gone back on the pill? When I first went back on it after having Charli I got a bit of AF in the middle of the cycle then when I got the proper AF that month is was extremely heavy the first day or 2 (almost felt like I'd just had a baby again). My OB told me it was just my body re-adjusting and I haven't had a problem since. So perhaps that's what is going on with you?
NONI, don't be worried at all about where Asha is at. Charli is probably behind her. She rolls heaps and kind of moves herself around on the playmat but she hasn't shown any signs of crawling yet at all. All bubs are different and my motto is - enjoy them while they're babies because they are just going to grow up too quickly :)
SHERI, sounds like little Alister is in the lead in the crawling stakes. Looks like we're all about to start running around after our bubs a whole lot more very soon! Playgroup was good thanks. Charli was a little grissly though so I was worried she might be feeling a bit off but she went to bed tonight no problems.
HAYLEY, I'm so glad you are loving your degree. Wow you must be so busy doing a dual degree. How many days a week do you go to Uni? Are you finding it all okay? Does Maddie go to the creche there? Do you have to pay for that? Yes it was disappointing that ACU in brisbane would not let me enrol part time. Especially when I know that ACU in Melbourne DOES let their students enrol part time. Anyway, everything happens for a reason i guess and now that I know Uni of QLD has a much better structured course I'll be trying my hardest to get into the BMid there instead. I just can't wait to do my midwifery!
Anyway, better go!
Happy Easter Everyone
Take care and be safe . . .
Tamara
-
Renee - I am not on the pill yet, so naughty!!!
Tamara - This is my first year and I am only doing one unit this semester, to ease my way into studying and most importantly because Maddie is still too young for me to leave her for too long. Besides I get seperation anxiety hehe. Yep Maddie is in the creche, its $7 and hr and the carers at the creche are excellent. They are so nice, and the best part is Maddie is always the only baby and she gets so much attention. Even all the little girls at creche love her to bits and have cuddles. You will get to do your midwifery eventually, such a rewarding job. Dont think I could do it because I am so emotional and would be bursting into tears of joy at every birth!!
Noni - Maddie is a day older than Asha and still no rolling, let alone starting to crawl. So I wouldnt worry about it.
-
Hello lovelies (*MD puts on her big fluffy bunny ears and shouts*) Happy Easter Everyone!! Hope the bunny gets it right this year!
Well we're about to embark on our family holiday . It's a bit fraught right now because DD1 has this horrible chicken-poxy rash (it's not the pox, prolly bacterial) which means no cuddles for Grandma who's a donor tissue recipient (!) Hopefully it will get better over the next day or three so we can all spend some time later in the week :crossfingers:
Csmumma, for some reason they sleep magically well in their portacots...Well that's DH's theory anyway :). Hoping we get some good sleeping on our holiday.
Sherie, I did a big loud Woohoo when I read that Alister's crawling, and DH came running over to hear all about it! How exciting for everyone.
Gracie, when H used to bite me, I would say "no!" in a loud voice and take her off and put her down straight away. She only did it twice, after that. Also, if you're watching them, you'll see their jaw move just before they bite (they have to open their jaw to put their tongue out of the way) --- so that way you can pull them off before they get a chance to bite.
E had her first taste of rice cereal today...hehehe the look on her face was classic! DD1 amused herself for several minutes afterwards by putting a clean spoon up to E's mouth and watching her make 'the face' again, over and over! She's still got a bit of a tongue thrust, but in a couple of days I'll add a tiny bit of pear and see if that gets sucked in a bit more readily!
Cally I can't remember if I said Congrats on your auntie-hood! BTW my hairdresser was talking about Ikea again yesterday and she thinks it's in the spot where the DFO is being built...maybe it's just wishful thinking!
ETA - our Tinytalk pack has arrived from ebay :D! We're starting with "milk" "more" and "car" (since we'll be driving around a lot over the next week) *claps hands* it's soooo exciting, I can't wait for E's first sign!
Well I'll love you all and leave you, gotta go pack before E's ready for her sleep again - have a wonderful long weekend with your gorgeous little chickens, everyone!
-
goodmorning all :)
this morning when asha woke up for her feed (she was in our bed already) she was next to the bedside table (id already started to heat the bottle etc was up wouldnt put her on the edge if i wasnt there lol) she stopped crying, rolled over and started trying to grab the empty bottle.. but the thing was the empty one was covered in milk residue so it looked like it had milk in it and she picked that one over the one which just had water in it lol i couldnt believe it!! the then knocked it off the bedside table onto the bed and proceeded to try and put it in her mouth it was so cute, shes getting so smart!!
haley - thanks :) its so hard not to spend all the time worrying!! gotta let myself relax and enjoy it all!! oh and congrats on the solids sounds like if she coughed it out shes ok with it if that makes sence i mean she wasnt chocking... i am no expert at that stuff though asha is still having her pieces of things in her mesh bag lol i am a chicken!!
tamara- we went to melbourne when asha was 4 1/2 mths by plane.. not as far i know but we didnt really have much trouble with her.. we found she was fine on take off and actually fell asleep both times mid talke off lol but the way down did seem to get to her esppecially if it was a slow decent like when we were coming home.. we found feeding her even if she wasnt due to feed was the only way we could help her (they say it helps release the pressure for them as they cant do it themselves) if she is breastfeed thats pretty easy.. if not (ashas bottle fed) i just asked one of the cabin crew to bring me a cup of hot water or put the bottle at the back in hot water so i could heat it up.. they were very helpful.. as for the portscot issue, i lined the portacot the hotel gave me with a few of her bunny rugs like over the sheet, ones she had spewed on chewed on cuddled etc u know ones she was very familiar with and were nice and soft, asha also has a comfort toy for bedtime so she had that.. but i made sure i took her own blankets too and sort of simulated her own bed at home.. if u have a bedtime cd or mobile or something id suggest you take that too.. just make it as much like home as u can :)
pregpan - woa at your nephew!! it really is interesting isnt it!! i think artes W is doing that too??? hows the little man doing?? hope hes much better today!!
sherie - woot woot go master A what a champion!! love the pic too :) he looks like he has thinned out a bit (not in an unhealthy way) do u think thats coz hes on the go now?
renee - how is Rory this morning?? lots better i hope! did u get the vaporisor sorted?? great invention! shame i gave mine away a few years ago.. oh well it was pretty old anyway good excuse to get something newer if asha gets sick..
arte - lol the dog just started to like him more!!! thats really interesting that infant led weaning.. i am really scared to give asha a piece of something not in a mesh bag lol but shes the type to just ram the whole thing in her mouth haha thats what she does with everything else atm!! glad hes going well sounds like hes a very smart little man!!
-
Happy Easter Lovelies!!
i have just eaten a whole Haig's bilby :) mmmmm so good!
-
hehe Gracie, you're norti! ;) That said though, the Easter Bunny must think that Alister has my taste in chocolate and will be leaving him a Lindt Gold Bunny and a Cadbury's fine milk choc bunny and some little Lindt solid eggs
Noni, funny you should say that about him thinning out - MIL said that today too when we were there for lunch and I think his legs and arms have gotten longer too. Asha is a clever little chicken, she knows what she wants.
Marydean, Oh no at H getting the rash and not being able to get Grandma hugs, fingers crossed it clears up quickly. You will have to let us know how the tinytalk goes too. I hope you all have a fab time on holidays. Did you get a pic for posterity of Miss E's first taste of cereal? What a meanie H was to tease her with the spoon ;)
Renee, how is Rory today? Its awful when they get a cold.
Tamara, the only time we travelled with a baby around this age was when our second child was nearly 6mths old and she was never a great traveller over long distance and we went to Forster (about 10hrs from here) and she screamed nearly the entire time she was awake - made for a very long trip. the only thing I can offer is to take some comfort items for her so when she goes to bed she still have her own blanket etc.
So how did everyone spend their Good Friday? The kids and I just went to lunch at the IL's and SIL and her DP came down (they are 3hrs nth of here). DH was in bed sleeping having started nightshift last night. Tomorrow we are doing easter bags ready for Sunday.
-
Hello everyone! thanks so much for the baby travel tips. :D MD, I hope you are right about the portacot! And I hope your daughter is feeling better.
And Noni, Charli is bottlefed too so I'll be making sure I have more than enough with me on the trip. Someone mentioned to me to make sure I have more than I need in case the plane is delayed - which is a really good point!
Sherie, I sooo hope Charli doesn't scream on the plane. I have my :crossfingers:
We had a pretty low key Good Friday. DH has just gone off to pick up fish & chips for dinner. We will be heading up to Brisvegas on Sunday to spend the day with the rellies.
Have a lovely Easter everyone.
-
Morning lovely ladies, hope you are all having a fantastic easter!! You must be as its very quiet in here. I am enjoying having DP at home its great.
Somebody save me...the in laws are coming to stay tonight. On a more happier note, we are all going to the first eagles game tonight so that will be good. Maddie has got a babysitter, couldnt keep her entertained for that amount of time sitting down. She is a baby eagle member though, they sent her a pink eagles scarf and beanie, its so cute.
Renee - How is Rory going? Maddie was sick for about a week really. She still has the terrible cough now and then but its not bothering her at night anymore.
Tamara - Good idea about having more bottles/forumula than needed. You never know what could happen so best to be prepared. Hopefully the portacot theory rings true with you guys!
Sherie - My mum bought Maddie a peter rabbit egg - obviously she wont eat it, so looks like I'll be eating it woo hoo! What are easter bags? Do you do the egg hunt in the garden with the kids? My mum used to set that up for us and also she'd leave a piece of fluff somewhere and say look the bunny has been!!! lol.
Noni - The mesh bags are great arent they? Yesterday I gave Maddie some watermelon in the mesh bag, yum mum! However think that was a bit naughty, dont want her to have a sweet tooth like her father.
Marydean - Enjoy your family holiday!!!
Bummer wish we had of gone camping or something. Next yr!
-
afternoon everyone :)
gee its quiet in here today hope its coz everyones having a lovely easter :)
Asha and i met Katie and Logan today which was very exciting!! Logan is such a cutie, its funny how much bubs seem to differ from there photos, photos just dont do them justice!!! was great to put a face to a name if u know what i mean..
had a bbq lunch this avo at my mums place and probably ate too much chocolate lol ohhhh well what can u do?? Asha has been spoilt as usual.. mum and her husband got her a book, t shirt and some socks.. my nan and pop left a present for her when they were there briefly which was a bunnykins spoon and fork and a lovely easter card!! i know my dad and his g/f have her a bunnykins mug with an egg in it and we got her a peter rabbit egg cup with egg in it lol then we are seeing dps family tmw lol..
was just thinking asha has so much nice stuff stored away it would be nice to get a cabinet or something to put it all in.. shes got a bunnykins mug from when she was born as well as the one she is about to get one expensive cuttlery set (forget the brand right now) the bunnykins spoon and fork the egg cup lol shes sooo spoilt!!!
haley - ohh watermellon i bet she loved that!! i couldnt give her that atm as she eats in her bouncer lol and even though it is machine washable she does need her bouncer alot lol or want it anyway and i worry about washing it (i do wash it lol but it has to be at a carefully selected time lol).. we are probably going to ikea tommorrow though to get her a high chair so that will sort that problem!! asha has only had apple and pear in it so far i am wondering what i will put next??
charlismumma- gosh i am glad we didnt get delayed when travelling to melb coz u know what i never thought of bring extra feeds lol oops that could have been a disaster!!!
sherie - we didnt do anything on good friday lol i sat at home eating chocolate when i shouldnt have been lol i have about ten points to make back before i am even on even little own losing weight for my wi this week lol..
HAVE A HAPPY EASTER MUMS BUBS AND FAMILY
-
Hi Noni! that would have been great to meet Katie and Logan - did either of you get a pic? My plan for eating chocolate is basically eat all I can tomorrow and by monday I will be over it all LOL and not want anymore ;)
LOL Hayley, I hope the IL's visit goes painfree ;) The easter bags are just brown paper bags that the kids decorate and leave them out for the easter bunny. Lindsay is being quite clever and telling the girls tht the easter bunny is just me, but they wont have a bar of it and I told him to keep his trap shut because no one likes a smart-alec LOL.
Tamara, one thing I did think of was with the formula, just check with the airline what their policy is on taking it on board - there have been instances where women have been made to tip bottles out (both EBM and formula). I would be just taking the formula with me as asking for water on the plane JIC kwim? do you have a formula dispenser at all? if you don't, go and grab one before you go.
Its all happening here - Alister has a tooth about to come through! I was really surprised because the earliest any of the other three have gotten teeth was 8mths so I wasn't expecting them for a while yet, and there's been no teething poos either - the other three all had these nasty horrible teething poos (really runny and caustic on their botties and gave them bad nappy rash) and he hasn't had that, but they have been a bit stinkier than usual. That said it will probably go back down again LOL because its pushing on the gum, but hasn't quite broken the skin yet.
-
wow noni- that's great you got to meet up with katie and logan. i wish we all could meet up one day, it would be so fun. have you got pics together? don't stress about eating choc, that's what easter is all about :)
sherie- sorry i forgot to answer your question awhile back about our deck- it is probably about 3metres high. dp has been working really hard to get it finished before lewis starts crawling. unfortunately yesterday though he got gastro and was really unwell- he went to bed at 5pm poor thing.
i never knew that about teething poos. lewis had some real stinkers for a while there. they seemed sort of stringy too. is Alister's tooth at the bottom?
have you eaten your lindt bunny yet?? i love lindt
hayley- have fun at the footy tonight. sorry we stole judd ;)
is ben cousins playing again? he's such a spunk. best of luck with the ILs. mine are coming in a couple of weeks ggrrr:rolleyes:
-
I haven't eaten the lindt yet. I will give it a bit longer before the easter bunny visits LOL. But it has rained here a bit so we can't do the egg hunt now. The kids wont mind though.
Gracie, I hope your DP recovers soon. Yep, sounds like a teething poo to me - definately runny and stringy looking. I spoke too soon about Alister not having them - he did one not long after I posted on here about it lol. It is on the bottom, and I managed to have a look tonight when he was in the bath and it looks like both bottom ones are about to erupt, but he could go on like that for ages yet.
How is this for a coincidence? Last night I watched The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy on DVD and its just come on TV on ch 7 but I can't be bothered staying up to watch it tonight
-
Happy Easter yummy mummies !!! :happyforyou:
Hope the Easter Bunny comes to visit you all ;)
-
:confetti: HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
Hope you all have a great day!
I'm just wondering if I can please get some help/opinions on Charli's latest sleeping habits.
Okay, I have been really really lucky that Charli has slept through the night since she was 11 weeks old (approx 7pm to 6am). And I kind of figure that has been a trade off as she's never been a good day sleeper. But the last week she has been starting to wake. It was happening just once a night in the earrly hours of the morning but Friday night it was twice and last night is was FOUR TIMES between 12.30am and 4.30am. She doesn't seem to be teething yet or hungry. She winges a bit so I get up to check on her and I go in and she's wide awake and gives me a big smile as soon as she sees me. She has started to move around the cot heaps so she's sometimes either stuck on her tummy (she hasn't figured out how to roll back yet) or she's sideways with her leg stuck through the bars or something when I go in there. So I tuck her back in, put her dummy in her mouth and tell her to go back to sleep. Sometimes she goes back to sleep straight away and sometimes I have to go back in a couple of times.
I can't figure out any real reason why she is waking up and because I've been so spoilt with a full nights sleep for so long it is driving me a little nutty
Any suggestions???
-
OMG we have a whole shelf of chocolate in our fridge!!! its crazy!!!
went to ikea this morning to get a high chair for asha too so we will be using it for tmw mornings breaky will be interesting.. gonna put the bouncer cover through the wash soon as we wont b using it for feeding now :) well except that i give her her bottle in it now but thats not as messy as food!! ive been teaching asha to hold her own bottle.. shes doing really well with it actually u just have to watch her atm because she sometimes dosnt tip it up high enough and u need to correct it so she dosnt suck air.. what a clever chicken :)
charlismumma - wish i could help but it must be an age thing because asha is doing that too.. waking up a few times stuck on her tummy or up on her hands and knees i usually just give her her dummy and she goes back to sleep but it is a pain and it does make u feel tired dosnt it!! hope someone has some good suggestions for us!!
gracie n sherie - there is pics of logan and asha might post them tmw will let u all know
-
Hello all and happy easter! I am so sick from all the choccy eggs!
Well the in laws visiting wasnt too bad I guess. Apart from them trying to give Maddie chocolate against our wishes and my MIL trying to dress her up every 5 mins in 'pretty little dresses' for photoshoots. This morning we all went out for brekky and she wasnt happy with the outfit I had her in lol. I dont like pretty little dresses all the time, I like practical. Also we got to meet our nephew and Maddie's 1st cousin today, he is a tiny little thing but just gorgeous.
Has anyone tired making their own vege stock to mix through purees to make them more tasty? Is that a bad idea, I was under the impression that you gave them bland veges to stop them being fussy, but MIL has said add vege stock or even puree up chicken and mix through? Are they too young for that?
Noni - Well done to Asha on starting to hold the bottle, Maddie is no where near that. Thats good that you and Katie met up!
Tamara - I've got a good sleeper like you and I so dread her waking up, i'm hoping she wont start night waking but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe its just an age thing. Or have you started her on solids because I have heard that makes them randomly wake?
Sherie - Wow teeth for Alister!! He's coming along in leaps and bounds atm, everything is happening.
Gracie - No my boyfriend Ben Cousins is not playing for the eagles anymore :(
-
Uuurrrggghhhh! Teeth! They aren't any closer to coming out, but boy are they making him a cranky laddy. I was glad when he went to bed tonight that's for sure LOL. I knew this would happen - the only time I have a child who gets teeth when they are supposed to and they give them holy hell.
Hayley, I hate it when someone tries to give bubs food and you don't want them too. Good thing you don't see them often then from the sound of it. How lovely to meet your nephew too. I would have been a bit peeved with the 'photoshoot', she's not a toy to dress up and parade around. With the stock, they don't need anything added to their food to flavour it. Stock is usually full of salt which they don't need, and if you made it yourself without salt, well thats just the same as adding the water the veges have been boiled in. Mum always added vegemite to our veges though, but that's salty too, but back then they didn't worry about that sort of thing LOL. I couldn't bring myself to add it to their veges anyway *blergh* You could start to add a bit of chicken though - BBQ is always good because it's so easy to break down.
Noni, can't wait to see the pics! Alister does the waking thing too sometimes. When we had really hot weather last week he was waking a bit, and he was just thirsty, so I filled a bottle with cooled boiled water and sat it near his bed so I could just give him a little sip and he was right.
We have a heap of chocolate here too. I didn't buy too much for any of them but when you have the three of them it is still a lot LOL. very quiet day today. THe kids didn't get up too early which was good - got to have somewhat of a sleep in. Then is has been rainy on and off most of the day. Not heavy but enough to wet the ground.
-
hey there just a quick one to say i added those pics of asha and logan bbl for personals etc :)
-
we got asha her high chair yesterday from ikea.. she loved sitting in it this morning.. i was much happier feeding her there too, shes much more upright and i dont mind if she makes a big mess because it just wipes clean so easily so i think it was more fun for everyone involved!! got some very cute pics and videos lol..
sherie - ouchies poor Alister, asha is really on and off with her teething, sometimes her cheeks go sooo red and shes chewing and grizzling but other times shes fine.. i cant really see or feel anything in her mouth either.. thats a good tip with the water maybe asha is thirsty too...
haley - i let asha try chocolate lol but just a lil in the spirit of things.. can imagine how annoying it would be though if you specifically said no and they kept going with it.. kinda like dps brother thinks its very amusing that asha will suck his finger if he lets her and i had to end up saying please dont let her do that.. yuk god knows whats on his filthy unwashed hands makes me shudder!!! we dont dress asha in girly dresses much either its whatever is practical most of the time.. that is very annoying the photo shoot thing, as sherie said shes not a doll to dress and play with!!
-
Hi Guy's, OMG we have sooo much chocolate too! Not good considering I'm a chocoholic  ANNND I'm supposed to be on a diet
Noni, it's good to know that Asha is going through the same thing as Charli re: the waking at night time thing. We have to get Charli's highchair out soon too I think. She loves sitting upright now. I don't think it will be too long before she can sit up on her own. Actually I've got a sneaking suspicion that she is going to sit up and bum scoot around the floor instead of crawling.
Hayley, it's funny you should mention the solids thing though as I have started giving Charli some Farex over the past week, but I didn't end up giving her any yesterday and last night she slept through again! Coincidence maybe??? I dunno
Sherie, I hope poor little Alisters teeth stop giving him curry soon! Isn't it weird that some bubs can get teeth and it doesn't seem to worry them one little bit and then some others really suffer. Poor little bubba :(
-
charlismumma- it could be the solids.. we tried giving asha 3 meals a day but found she woke up crying alot and whn i stopped the dinner meal she was fine again.. its all a learning curve thats for sure!! we are probably going to introduce the third meal soon again and see how she goes coz she is doing so well with solids :) oh and i hear you on the chocolate thing i have told myself this week i must have a loss on the scales, i am doing weight watchers and last week i stayed the same (kfc and chocolate lol i was lucky to stay the same) but ive just got af too so i am going to have to work pretty hard to get any kinda loss!!
-
Hi Noni, Asha is doing so well to be on 2 solids a day. How many bottles do you still feed her and how many ml's does she have per feed? I am reluctant to keep offering solids to Charli before we go to Perth if she is going to be waking through the night because of it. Would it be bad of me to just be giving her milk until we get back from Perth? :dunno: She'll be just over 6.5 months by the time we get back!
You are doing really well to be focused on your diet over easter. I've got all the weight watchers stuff so i should start doing that again. I need to lose 16 kilo's before we start TTC #2 in September
I had wacked on 12 or 13 kilo's before I fell pregnant and I've still got 3 pregnancy kilos to get off also. How long have you been doing it for?
-
Hey guys, hope you all had a fantastic East break!
I uploaded some pics of Rory and you can see his two bottom teeth. SO cute :)
Will be back later for personals. I need to have a shower, ive been so slack today haha.
-
Renee, gosh he's a cutie! Are his eyes violet all the time or do they just look like it in that pic? I love the hat he has on.
Noni, They are great pics, thanks for posting them.
Tamara, it wont matter at all if you don't worry about solids while you are away. Its not a *meal* so much as a learning experience and she wont even notice that she isn't having them. They can get by with only have one solid meal per day for weeks too so if you feel she is doing just fine with one meal or you want to take it slower, then just give her one.
-
charlismumma - Asha has usually 4 bottles a day 210mls sometimes when she has just woken up though she might drink a little less in the morning, she has her first bottle then about 40mins later she has cereal around 2-3 tablespoons after her sleep she has another bottle then 40mins - 1hr she has one piece of fruit in a mesh bag or say 2-3 tablespoons of yoghurt.. she has fruit two days in a row and yoghurt on the third in a cycle coz the yoghurt is pretty heavy.. i dont think it would be bad to wait till u got back.. we only really started with Asha because she was screaming at us for our food and grabbing it and eating it if she could reach lol she was very ready.. 6mths is just a ball park age and if shes not that into it save yourself the trouble i say!!!
as for sticking to my diet not exactly lol just making sure i am accountable for what i have for example if i eat 10 points over because ive been eating too much chocolate (yes this has happened) i make sure i count it all in and do enough excersise to counteract it hehe we will see what it says on the scales wednesday..
-
oh yeah and i forgot to say i added new pics and the cutest video on my facebook of asha talking to her cup lol its soooo cute!!
-
Morning Girls,
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We had a great time. Olivia still has no teeth but she has now master slithering backwards. She can get up on her knees but doenst go forward yet.
Noni- Love the photos and your Easter Kebab looks great
Renee- Rory is a little spunk
Sherie- Congrats to A for crawling
MD- Congrats to E
Hayley- Way to go on the Uni Parking
Cally- Congrats on becoming an Auntie
Well hope everyone has a wonderful day and sorry to anyone I have missed.
-
grrr i hate real estate agents!! i rang the real estate again this morning to try and find out what is going on with our application (been over a week now) and they are now telling me the person who was managing the property has left so no one really knows whats going on and they will get someone from property management to ring me.. well that was 2 hours ago surprise surprise no call yet...
have been looking around but its so hard to find somewhere!! am looking at a place this avo thats $20 more than we really want to pay but we are so desperate to move!! theres another one tmw too god its soooooo hard and its driving me insane!!!
sorry vent over
-
Charlismumma - we aren't starting K on solids until this weekend when she will be 6.5 months - we were away over Easter and it seemed silly to worry about it then.
Renee - what a little spunk you have there!
So much for really good sleeps when bubs are back in their own beds - last night was 4 wake ups!! At least they were quick resettles or feeds.
Sounds like everyone had a good Easter - we had a lovely time, ate far too much, diet starts whenever the eggs are finished!!
Vaccinations tomorrow - seems like only yesterday that we were all doing the 4 month old ones!!
-
I'm at work and its so boring. I told daycare today to start giving Maddie a solids meal for morning tea as I have been doing it at home, so we'll see how they go with it I guess. One things for sure, they make a real mess dont they! Had to stock up on the napisan over the w/end.
Sherie - I have heard of the vegemite trick, sounds gross to me. I will give the stock a miss then, besides she seems to be enjoying her vege mash more now days.
Cally - Good luck with vaccinations tomorrow.
Noni - You will get a place eventually, hang in there! I'll have to log onto fb and check out your new pics and video.
Leanne - How was the easter holiday?!
Tamara - Like the others have said, I wouldnt worry too much about not starting solids till 6.5 mths. I've got Maddie on small meals but no more than twice a day, and at this age they only have little tastes. If I didnt give her any solids yet it wouldnt even bother her.
-
Renee - Awww look at those teethies! You must be so proud. Are they making him upset? Is that why he got a cold? Is he over that btw? sorry so many q's!!
Noni - Asha & Logan are such cuties!!!!!!
-
We have TEETH!!!! 2 to be precise LOL. They broke through the skin overnight and this morning I could feel their sharp little edges. he hasn't been near as cranky today either (except when Paige decides he needs a change of scenery when he is quite happy where he is LOL) so hopefully that's the end of it till next time.
Leanne, I bet Olivia looks so cute going backwards
Noni, my pet peeve is when people don't phone back.
Cally, I'm like you - diet is over once the choccies are gone ;) I have to make an appointment for vaccs too
Hayley, buy some really cheap bibs , preferrably with plastic on the back if you can so you don't have to use her 'good' ones for feeding. Wont matter if they get stained then.
-
Sherie- Congratulations to A:confetti:
Cally- All the best for the needles tomorrow
Noni- Dont worry you will find something soon
Hayley- Holiday was fantastic

Sherie - I think it may of been the pink bed covers making his eyes that colour. I have really light blue eyes and D has really deep blue eyes so Rory has got a amazing pair of peepers haha. Everyone comments on his eyes :)
Congrats on Alisters toothy pegs :) Is he feeling better now they have come through. Got any plans over the school holidays??
Hayley - His teeth came through about 3/4 weeks ago. He didnt have any problems....I didnt even know they came through LOL! The worst of his cold is over now, just a bit snuffly. Are you making your own food? Good thing you have access to a computer so you can visit BB at work LOL! Your IL's sound like a crack up haha :) Loved the photos of Spencer btw, what a little cutie!
Cally - Good luck with Katies vaccinations tomorrow. If I remember she had no problems with the last lot, im sure it will be a breeze this time too.
noni - I work for a real estate agency and they are awful at getting back to people. Hope you hear back soon
Leemar - Glad you had a good time. Tell us all about it!!!
charli'smumma - I had the same problem with Rory. When we gave him dinner he woke up during the night. So atm we are just giving him breakfast & lunch.
I just got back from a play date with Rory's 3rd cousin (we are a close family). Had a great time too. Poor Bugga Luggs day sleeping is a bit all over the place after being so sick last week. I hope he gets back into his routine soon.
We went out saturday night for my BILs birthday and Rory stayed at his nannas & poppys for the 1st time over night. They hd trouble getting him to sleep but once he did he slept through...thank gawd! My night was ruined though, we walked to the train station, caught a 1 hr + train to the casino and I left my ID at home!! Arghh.
Better run. the house looks like a bumb hit it!

Back from holiday, Will was a charmer for all the in-laws. He traveled really well until the last hour of the drive home which was a nightmare. He was so full of smiles and was happy to spend heaps of time with his gran and granddad.
The infant led weaning is going really well, he was putting too much in his mouth and gagging it back up to start with but after only a few days he has already started to gum it and actually swallow it. He has had heaps of different things, I have been giving him bits of what we are having. So far he has had tomato wedges, lettuce, cheese, bread, chicken kebab, fish, capsicum, pastry, quiche and he sucked on some steak but couldn't get any off to eat. He hasn't choked at all (despite my mums warnings lol).
Cmum, hopefully Miss C will have a good nap for you on your flight. It gets hard to entertain them sitting in one spot. Will was awake for the 1.5 hour flight this morning and got a bit grumpy.
Noni, glad you and Katie got to meet up. Asha sounds very clever picking the right bottle
Sherie, congrats on the teeth. Hope Will's only take a couple of days to come through.
We had another development while at the IL's - Will can go from sitting to hands and knees. We left him sitting on the floor and when we looked back over he was on his hand and knees lol. He was getting stuck like that but then he figured how to flop onto his tummy.
It is late here, will be back tomorrow for some more personals.

OMG The Easter Bunny brought Quick Reply back! :)
Csmumma I take back everything I said about the portacot being magic...E's been very unsettled at nights since we got here, I'm sure it's the teething as she sleeps better when we give her panadol. I've stopped counting the getups each night because they all blur together.
E has been a huge hit with the family, smiling and charming everyone...still pretty labour intensive though as she's v clingy right now. Loves her little 5 y.o. cousin to pieces too and I think it's mutual. Poor H has had a dose of head lice to add to her antisocial rash, poor kid.
Solids has been coming along slowly, most of it's still coming straight out but we've been experimenting with the temperature and she seems to like having it a bit warmer...still doing pear and farex, might try some pumpkin soon.
Easter bunny went overboard this year, Missy E woke up with a little soft bunny at the end of her bed, and was also given a Jemima Puddleduck book, Bunnykins cup and a huuuuuge white fluffy duck that's as big as she is LOL. Lucky for mummy they all came with chockie eggs since H has become propietorial and won't share hers!
Yay for all the milestones, teeth, rolling, grabbing bottles etc - don't we have a clever little bunch of bubbies!
-
MD - sorry the portacot magic didn't work. We gave up on it and just put her mattress on the floor while we were away. While she can't roll I figured it didn't really matter. Poor H, rash and lice!!
Arte - glad that Will had a good weekend and was a hit with all the inlaws.
Renee - we get heaps of comments on K's blue eyes too.
DH slept in the spare room last night so he could resettle K when she first woke up and I wouldn't be disturbed. He gave up after an hour and a half and got me! At least I got a bit of extra sleep.
Anyone else still got no signs of teeth?
Grrr, was a bit late putting the washing on and it's going to be finished about 10 minutes after we have to leave for the doctors. What a pain. I think we're expecting some rain this afternoon too.
Asha and Logan are gorgeous!

HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY CHARLI AND ASHA :)
i was out this morning shopping and asha was grizzling coz it was almost time for her feed and i was about to leave for home.. all i had was some bananas so i broke off a chunck and gave it to her lol she didnt like the texture.. didnt wanna hold it funny girl.. though she was more than happy to eat it when i put small pieces in her mouth or held it up to her mouth cheeky girl!!

so the new story from the real estate is that the applications have gone to the landlord and they are waiting for him to get back to them god... looking at another house this avo which is more within our price range.. in other words its crap lol home is what u make it i suppose... there is always a chance we will get the first one we applied for but considering we have been waiting so long and i am pretty sure our references havnt been rung i dnt think its gonna happen ughhh i hate house hunting!!!!!
cally - asha is on and off sometimes the red cheeks start and she starts grizzling and chewing but when i look in her mouth theres no sign of anything lol
MD - the easter bunny only bought asha an egg cup with a little egg in it, good thing too because she also got a bunnykins mug with giant egg, a teddy bear with rabbit ears that had 4 eggs, a book, a tshirt and socks and a giant cadbury egg lol spoilt!!

Ahh working from home is tough haha! I thought it would be easier...
MD - I hope H is feeling a bit better soon, poor darling. Hope your having a great holiday. Good to hear the solids are going well. I found warm farex goes down better.
Art - Im glad you had a great holiday. Will is the little charmer isnt he!! You inspired me to give Rory a bit of pear this morning. Although he didnt like it, i felt brave enough to start giving him finger food. xx
Ive lost 3 kg all together, another 5kg to go (7kg would be nice).
im off for a nanna nap. Im exhausted even though Rory has been sleeping through again after being sick. Isnt it crazy, sometimes the more sleep I have the more tired I feel! arghhh cant win!
