Morning everyone
Happy Birthday Lewis!! I hope you have a wonderful day little man :)
noni - yay Asha!!!
kate - i think that sounds like my kind of camping - air con cabin ;)
trill - good on you for being assertive - i think they should deliver a new one to you though and pick up the dodgy one.
oz - when is your sister due? my sis has only got 6 weeks to go, and i am so excited!!
md - i was sad to see Madam go last night - but i don't think her past couple of performances have been to great. It seemed they had trouble singing the Abba songs - wrong pitch or something.
I need some inspiration with Hannah's meals. What is on the menu at everyone's place?
-
hi jaz!!! yay good to see you!
i was also struggling w N's meals - just thought he was getting bored with what i had for him and the same old stuff so here are a few ideas of things i have made for him... i make abig veg soup each week and he has a little bit of that over a few days (any old veg but a nice way to get him to have diff vegies) - i find if he doesnt want it from spoon (he is a bit anti spoon sometimes atm) i cool it down to luke warm and he drinks it through a straw!! ha ha!! i also made a pumpkin, sage and ricotta lasagne on sun which dh and i had for dinner and N has been eating it since - i just chop it small and he eats i with his hands. i also cooked a veg and lentil cottage pie which he likes. also loving meatballs and couscous...
for snacks he is soooo into fruit - grapes (i chop in half), strawberries, mango, kiwi are the current favourites. he is also really into rice pudding - was making it but getting a bit time poor so i bought le rice from supermarket and he loves that. cherry tmatoes also a favourite snack.
i also make pikelets for snacks and also he is into crackers (jatz or country cheese this week)...
i am trying to just do what we are having and chop or slightly blend it. feel like he needs more meat so will do some chicken patties or casseeole or something this week.

Hi Girls!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEWIS!!!!
Gawd. it''s been an age since i have had a chance to be in here...i tried to do a quick skim of the posts, but as usual we are a chatty bunch and it would take me 2 days to get through it all! LOL!
Although, from the poo stories i too have one to add: Leila just 2 days ago ATE some of her poo. poor DH was doing the change and she managed to sneak a little bit in there, the poor guy was dry-reaching the whole time and he brushed her teeth like there was no tomorrow! so gross. and yet i just laughed soo much. bad mummy, but good 21st story...he he he.
G: ohh pram shopping is soo much fun! i still go and check out pram sections at baby stores! so many cool things out there. i reckon the p&t look awesome. i have seen them around alot here in wollongong (we're having a quick beach getaway!) and they look really useful. one lady had a 2 year old and a 3 week old bubba in it and they both looked really comfy...
Jaz: oh tell me about it! i have no idea what to cook most times. and this week while we have been away is really tough. she has been having two meals a day from tins. they are pretty gross and cost $$$$.
a family favourite is pasta. we do tomato pasta for a quick meal that we can all eat and L loves it. can of tomatoes, some garlic and chilli and some basil chucked into a frypan and simmered for about 20 mins. and presto all done. (oh and the cheese...L's fav!).
Sherie: ohhh i would have opened a can of whoop-a$$ too! oh how cranky pants would i have been?!! new machine and everything!
Noni: yay for asha! what a champ!
AFM: well we have been searching around the mighty 'gong (wollongong) to see if we like the place. i am still in two minds. i love the idea of living a block away from the ocean and having MASSIVE yards for L to play in etc etc and i like the idea of being near nature and the community that comes with a smaller place (everyone is ready to have a chat here!). but we just moved, my PhD is in Melbourne (so would need to study away...not easy with a baby!), and i just love where i live and the friends i have made. sooo conflicted ATM. especially as when we were swimming a pod of 20 dolphins came within 20 mtrs and put on a spectacular show for us. all the babies were being silly billies and jumping out of the water and frolicking around and the adults were doing massive jumps and tail flicks. Leila was beside herself with excitement. the squealing made your heart melt! my girl is def an ocean girl. we have had daily tantrums as we leave the beach (back arching, slapping (WTF? where did this come from?!!!) and piercing screams...oh joy!).
despite this DH drops the 'clucky' bombshell in the car yesterday. i almost choked on my chocolate.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEWIS!!! HAVE A GREAT DAY CHAMP
I've now become a platinum member...just had to wait for confirmation of payment through Paypal. Would love some tips on how my av should look like.
Wow about the dolphins...there have been rumours of getting to see the whales migrate past our local beach but I have yet to see them.
S was awake at 4.30 AGAIN this morning and so I popped her back in for a sleep at 7 (normally she wouldn't dream of going back down until at least 8.30) and she stayed asleep for 2 hours. Then woke up had a bit of a play and then went back down at 10.30 and is still asleep. OMG! I don't know whats going on with her, so not normal. I can only assume that shes catching up after all her 4.30 wake ups and our big weekend.
DH brought home a nasty cough from woke yesterday so guess what we woke up with today as well. ARGH!! I hate sharing. When DH gets coughs they get so bad that he normally vomits (due to crushed larynx etc a few years back) so I'm constantly on tenterhooks waiting for the mess.
Anyway....can't wait to find out Arts news so am off to Woohoo room

Kate - poor Dh. Maybe strap an icecream container around his neck? Sharing = not fun.
Clare does this mean you'll be frequenting the TTC forums again soon? Re your big decision - find a peaceful moment and listen to what your heart wants.
Pregpan, your Noah eats a more varied diet than I do LOL. Do you restrict seasonings in his food or does he just have exactly the same as you do?
JaZaH - I noticed she'd been slipping, too. She sort of came across as not wanting the whole Idol thing as bad as the others do. I need meal inspiration too, I confess we've been having a few cans here - but I usually add some fresh food like veggies to them as well.
-
ha ha ladies - dont want to misrepresent myself here - these massive cook ups are a reaction to the 'guilt' i felt that N was eating so much bought food.... will post recipes in the recipe section in case you want to give them a go..
MD i dont cook with much salt at all, so i pretty much just season as we have in relation to spices - chili etc... sometimes he isnt too keen but i find generally he is happy with it all... i tone a few thikngs down if i think they will be too spicy or full flavoured - usually just take soem out for him and then spice it up for us (or we eat it a bit blander if i cant be bothered)
teh veg soup was great on the weeks i didnt get to cook much, just froze in portions then served with pasta, rice, bread or couscous. he also loves french toast on the weekends... the only way he will eat eggs (unless in recipe)
i am making veg burgers tonight - chickpeas and veg so will see how they go down and let you know!
Clare - yay was missing you!!! no advice - we are also thinking about our next move. melb is v likely so stay there!!!! ha ha ha! will you ttc you think?

Hi Girls,
Thank you all so much for all your Birthday wishes. I had a wonderful day.
Fianne- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MAX for yesterday :partysmiley:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LEWIS:happybirthday:
Hello to everyone
-
 MD - you crack me up. I love the icecream container idea...had an immediate vision of dogs with those collars after surgery.
PP - Wow, you are an awesome cook. I admit to being a dodgy cooker when it comes to meals for Sarah and I put it down to being in an unfamilar kitchen. I do try to mix it up but am not good at it. Hopefully once we get our own place I might step up a lot more.
-
Yeah i'm a bit stuck for meal ideas at the moment too, but i'll share the last couple of nights...
Tonight was a kind of tuna mornay. White sauce with cheese, tuna, crated zucchini, carrot, peas corn and cooked pasta. Was a hit.
Last night was couscous with roast veg and lamb, DH and i loved it, not such a smash with her but she ate it.
Night before was zucchini potato onion and corn fritters. another fave.
Kate- the rules are all wrong at your place. He who chucks, mucks. ie, you spew, you clean! What are you doing cleaning up that mess???!!! :P Mad woman i say.
Clare- Dolphins sounded amazing. I love dolphins. My closest encounter was down at Barwon Heads, i was surfing and a fin popped out in the wave next to me. I nearly pooped in my wetsuit until i realised it wasn't a shark! An amazing experience though.
-
Pp - i like the sound of the pumpkin and ricotta lasagne, and vegetable soup sounds like a good idea too.
i gave Hannah her main meal at lunch today (fish with orange and cheese) and she ate it all up. She has been tired around dinner time lately, and not really into eating. I'll just give her a sandwich for dinner i think.
-
thank you so much for all your happy birthday wishes for lewis, we can't beleive he's one, time flies when you're having fun hey?
unfortunately dp had a massive fight with his mum last night, which put a bit of a dampener on the day. i'll come back and tell you all about it later. she's just a completely selfish, inappropriate woman. she is really making our life hard atm.
what is arte's news? have i missed something??
sherie- i can't believe your new washing machine, what a let down.
md- no we canned the western party in the end, too much going on atm with me being utd and dp being away from home 13 hrs a day working. shame really but i'm one of those people who like going to parties rather then hosting them
yes mil defenitely has a lot of self loathing and very low self esteem- one reason why we reckon she always goes on about my weight.
oohhh dp is home, bbl

Hi ladies, it's been months since I popped in here but glad to see that you are all still as chatty as ever - this thread was still one of the top on the lsit, nice and easy to find.
I wish I could get in here more really do miss you ladies. It still amazes me what a fabulous support you are to one and another. You should all be very proud of yourself.
Anyway the reason I popped in was - IM PREGNANT AGAIN.
Pregpan show another post I made and congratulated me which in turn prompted me to post here. Thanks for the kind wishes pregpan.
So anyone else going round again already ??
-
JG Wonderful to see you again my dear and CONGRATULATIONS!! That's fantastic news!! Hope it all goes really well, how are you feeling this time round? Rainy (who was Gracie) and Ella are also PG and we've got a few ladies trying (either publicly or in the closet ;)).
-
Hi Joel's Girl!!!!!! What wonderful news! Congratulations!!! How is life going for you at the moment? (other than the exciting news you've just shared with us;) )
rainy you poor thing. Sounds like you could do without having MIL around you at the moment.
arte made a post about a dear friend of hers who is pregnant after many years of trying.
-
So there are 3 of us all having another bubs within weeks of each other again. How cool.
To answer your question jazmum. Life is good. Hamish is a wonderful placid little boy. He should be the size of a house the way he eats ( has yet to refuse anything we give him - and I mean anything - bad mummy even trying lemon !! LOL)
Apart from him having an eye condition which required a few surgeries early on he's good as gold. His sight is improving each day and we are positive that it will continue to develop as normal thanks to the wonderful surgeon.
I work 2 days per week and will continue to do so for some time I suspose. I enjoy my time at work and Joel gets to spend some boy time with H on these days.
Oh and we finally got married. Not sure how to go about posting pics on this forum, do I post link or upload pics in my post ?? It was a lovely day and Hamish looked so cute in his tux.
-
JG congrats on the pregnancy and marriage. You should be able to post wedding pics in your gallery.
Will be back later.
-
Thanks ozstar. I managed to upload a cute pic of H in his tux but had trouble with some bigger files that show Joel and I. Will try again later. Im off to bed.
Sleep tight xx

He is absolutely adorable JG.
