hi everyone
i'm exhausted too- must be the night for it!
just checking in to say 'hi' and see how everyone is.
have a great melbourne cup day everyone. the good news around here is that our deck is nearly finished- might be finished tomorrow- fingers crossed. it's only taken about 2 years!!!
-
L has been climbing on and off the lounges, our bed and his bed too he's done very well.. can manage all on his own!
Sorry just getting the hang on this thread so can't remember who said what (and its on the previous page unforunately).
Where is everyone from? I'm from the Logan area in brisbane.
-
Its been rather quiet in here today.
Nella I am form the Gold Coast.
Rainy woo hoo on the deck being finished. Will you be having a deck warming?
JG gee you have lots of Christmas shopping to do.
I am going to pull a rainy and say I have a secret..............
-
Katie - are you going to keep us waiting long????!!!! I quite like all these secrets - don't mind a bit of suspense in my day. Looking forward to you sharing it!
nella - Hi there :) i'm from the North Western suburbs in Brisbane.
-
Morning!!!!
Nella; Thank you for your thoughts. The boys suprised me & were really good, even in the Dr's w8n room (& of course, middle of the day, running l8) then just as I got called in, I gave them lollies so they were busy with them whilst I had my stitches out. Then as I did groc shopping, I went thro Macca's drive thro before hand, so they were busy eating lunch as I grabbed a few bits & pieces.
I live just out of Kempsey. Moved down from Bris Jan just been.
JaZmum: Thank you also.
I understand what you are saying about when you are out. They are so full on aren't they. Normally I have to round Alex up from all sorts of places at the Dr's & being that Jack is a fast crawler, he's somestime just as bad as Alex.
I love Macca's when we go out! The boys can run & play, & burn off that energy. Our macca's is good as its got the older style play equip & it is gr8 for Jack as he can climb it.
Talking about Bris, I have to go back up next week & thought yst, I had better organise where we are going to stay. I used to be so organised with things like this.
Tis going to be a long day today ... i sent my ex-DH a txt: "5.43am! Rise and Shine" (a joke I have with him ... ) . It didn't suprise me this morning when I heard Alex up cos he was asleep by 7.30 last nite. Didn't even have to put the gate up to keep him in. He had turned the lights on & had came to find me to do some drawing.
Jack is still out to it :) but its only 6.37 ... Normally they get up just before 6.30 but lately Jack has been having a 15min sleep in. He did have a rough nite, he's got some tooth or another coming. I can't believe how fast & sometimes easy, he pops teeth (or points) through.
Alex, won't let me take his nappy off, cos he wants to keep his cool red pants on.
6.54 & Jack is awake!
I'm going to go sort out Alex's prob & get him some breaky.
ttfn :) ....

Hi girls! wowsers i have missed soo much...at least i havent missed Oz's secret.....oooh i LOVE suspense!!
Hi and welcome (back?) Nella!! great to have more ppl to chat to!!! LOL! Our DD is becoming a climber also, giving me a heartattack everytime...
we live in melb now but lived most of our time in brisvegas. we used to live in east brisbane, highgate hill etc....moved a fair bit!
JG: we are in the same boat. L is getting teeth i am sure of it, but no cigar just yet, just the grumpiness and power nappies!
JaZMum: i hear ya sista! for the last 2 days we have tried to do things outside with Leila...we need to buy a linen cupboard. she has been nightmarish! (understatement) we end up back home a couple of hours later, defeated, exhausted and empty-handed. we have been dealing with in-store tantrums...psycho child on the loose ATM!!
AFM: well busy preparing for the melbourne cup. needless to say it is FREEZING here. so no doubt the irish horse septimus will do well. dont know how well i am going to do in my summer frock. but fashion should be painful LOL! just hope the rain holds off as i am wearing white ppl!! :o
-
Clare - have a wonderful day today! Make sure that if you do get your lovely white dress wet, you stay away from the tv cameras. We don't want to see all of your bits and pieces on the news :o lo. I'm so glad that it's not just me that's exhausted. I was thinking it was my age
Hannah woke up at 5:30 this morning, so I'm hearing you Andie - it's going to be a long day! She is having a sleep now though - we're getting some family photo's done today, so i need her cheery and smiling:pray: (i'm hoping the photographer can edit out some of the spots on my face - i really should get back onto my regular pill)
Renee should be heading out on her holiday by now - hope you guys have a great time!
have a great day everyone - and for those of you who like to have a flutter on the geegees, i hope you pick a winner.
-
Oz: Oh I want to know the surprise hehe how long do we have to wait to find out???? Can we GUESS?
Andie: Glad the boys behaved :) Chocolate always works when L needs to behave too hehe
Jaz: Hope your photos went well and Hannah smiled :)
It is so hot here today. I am dreading summer already...
I'm going to head off and tidy up while Loki's having a nap.
-
Oz, I am still thinking the psychic was right!!
Rainy, what was your other news? Spill already!!!!
MD, I hope you had/have a great day at the coast. I was going to reply in your other thread re SAHM burnout but I never can think of the right words to get across what I want to. But I often do feel the same, that there is more to life than keeping everyone fed and clean.
Clare, lol, hope your white dress doesn't get rained on. My aunt in law wore white pants when we went to Dreamworld - bad look after the water rides lmao
Andie, sounds like things are smoothing out a bit for you now
Pregpan, well done for N with a two syllable word! W sort of says 'got it' when he picks up something but it is only clear enough for DH and I to understand so I'm not counting it yet. Same with Balloon, we know what he means but no one else would. Also yay for him pulling himself up.
Nella, welcome to our group. I was living in Brisbane (Camira) for 3.5 years but have just moved back to NZ so William can grow up the kiwi way (free of snakes and freakin' huge spiders lol). I am not missing the Queensland summer.
Kate, W has just come out the other side of the back arching tanties whenever he had to go in the carseat/pram/highchair. It lasted about 6-8 weeks I think, then all of a sudden one day he just stopped!
The newest word around here is ut-oh. He says it every time something falls (or is thrown). Very cute. I see him standing on the deck with something in his hand saying 'ut-oh' a few times and then he throws it off lol. He woke the other night and I found him sitting in bed saying ut-oh like he had accidently fallen awake.
DH made a sandpit over the weekend and it is a fantastic hit.

Hi all, well S woke at 3.30 last night but went back to sleep quite easily. She refuses to her a sleep this morning now and we are due to go out for a Melbourne Cup lunch so might have to give it another go otherwise shes gonna be feral.
I love bribery...why else would it have been invented if not for use on kids when we need to do things.
Well better go and see if I can put little miss down ... wish me luck:pray:
-
Arty, where abouts in NZ?
-
Andie, I am in Ohakune which is in the central North Island, right under Mt Ruapehu
-
Katie- you are soooooooooo frigggggin preggggnnnaaant!!!!!!
-
Arty: Nice, I have relies in Wellington & Auckland (mainly). Wld love to take the boys over but am thinking I mite w8 till they are a bit older so they can remember it more.
What made you decided to move there? U r from NZ originally, yes?
-
i agree with rain!!! well katie?? spill!!!
-
Thought I had better pop in and say hello hope you all win big on Melb cup.
Will be back for personals later.
-
arte - Hannah says uh-oh too. It's so cute isnt' it. She also says "tickletickletickle" while she's tickling your toes. She found her belly button this morning and started giggling while she was touching it.
photos went well, but OMG i was exhausted afterwards!!! Katie you're going to have to make sure you take a Berroca before you take family photo shots!!!! Jess and Zoe smiled beautifully, but we had to work hard just to get Hannah to sit in one place for long enough. Going to view the photos next week, so hopefully we got some nice ones.
-
Jaz, that's the reason why I don't want to attemp family pics yet - no way known would he sit still for long enough without throwing a tanty to have a decent pic taken.
Katie's pregnant aren't you?
Nella, I like how you've spelt his name, I've never seen that spelling before. I live in rural NSW on a farm.
OK, me-me-me post ahead now. Remember I said that I was doing the elimination diet for my psoriasis? Well it was a total bust so I went to my Dermatoligist yesterday and we've decided to put me on Methotrexate, which is an immunosupressing drug and it's also used for Chemotherapy. It can wreak havoc on your liver, so I have to have regular liver function tests to see how I"m coping with it all. There are some pretty ordinary side effects from it because it's pretty toxic, but I'm hoping I'll be OK (although losing weight wouldn't be such a bad thing, but knowing my luck I'll get every side effect bar that one LOL) I did my first lot of tests today to set the baseline for all future tests and I will start it on Friday.
And I'm booked in for a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and a D&C on december 5 for my endo and I'll also have a mirena IUD put in at the same time so I can get progesterone that way instead of taking tablets like I did last time. DH is a bit miffed at that because of him having a vasectomy and all, but like I said to him, it was something that needed doing for the long term anyway and this will only be for a few years (mirena is active for up to 5years) and we would still have had to do something anyway. So there is no way known I could ever fall pg LMAO. So I'm on a bit of a rollercoaster ATM with all this, but I know it's all going to be for the greater good.
