Hi girls!

Rainy: yeah we went the healesville hotel. pretty nice! i didnt get into the jewelry shop...for some reason DH picked up the pace around that time LOL!

Ange: bummer about the restless night. hopefully she will be ok tonight. LOL at your dad's birth comments! what a crack up. i hope your mum jabbed him in the ribs LOL!\\

Kate: we too partook of the mighty shellpool today!

Cally: yeah the books can be hard to come by. i have begged, borrowed and now spent a fortune buying them all...vamp trash is worth it though.

MD: oh you SHOULD be jealous of the buffy box set. it is LIMITED EDITION...oohh wahhhh...
love it. love the musical episode the best. you MUST get your hands on it. i dont mind the underworld stuff. it is a bit loose on the details, but it gets you by. i see there is a new one coming out...

Oz: i will try to check out the pics. from memory, last time i went i couldnt see any...

AFM: well our Aus Day was spent in true fashion. set up the barbie, invited the neighbours, got burnt, drank fosters beer, cooked waaaay too much meat (and vege sausages for the vegos amongst us). the dog stole a sausage straight off the barbie. the kids did nudie rudies through the backyard and in the shell pool and sandpit. people arrived at 10am and left just after 8pm. we listened to the Triple J hottest 100 and all agreed that no.1 and no. 2 should have been switched. DH is now asleep blissfully unaware that he WILL wake up hung-over and sunburnt te he he he.

all in all a great day.

oh, and BTW....

Leila is no longer a booby monster. she turned away from my offer last night and tonight just asked for her milk... bit sad at another time in our story coming to an end, but also happy that it was the timing of her choice. *sniff sniff*.:(

Had two ferals today. All afternoon they fought & carried on. Even got a vid of them. OMG, Alex was lashing out at Jack big time on occasions. Just didn't want a bar of him.

OMG That's too weird, EXACTLY the same thing happened here, yesterday and the day before. (I hadn't posted yet because I'm still a little in denial). Thereby amplifying my claim Clare that we are really twins that were separated at birth! LOL

clare- have to disagree with one little point :)the hottest 100 was exactly as it should've been..both songs crackers, but number 1 definitely more of a cracker than the other!! lol

clare and MD that is rather freaky that the weaning happened at the same time for you both... but amazing that it is of the girls choosing and so phenomenal you have bfed til now. congrats to you both!
we have also been spending quite a lot of time in the clam pool. geez there must be a zillion of them in homes all over the country!

all good here - had a great weekend, BIL, SIL and nephew came to visit which was great - the boys had so much fun playing together and we had such a great weekend. got bitten by a march fly yest at a picnic though and my arm has swollen up HUGE! off to chemist (again) i go!

Quick post from me, we have visitors this week.

After the first night of success with the rice milk, the second night was a disaster. He woke up even more, refused the bottle so I had to BF. But then last night I was able to pat him to sleep and when that didn't work I offered him the bottle and he grizzled and rolled over and went to sleep - he went the entire night without a BF. So I will keep going, I have promised myself to try everything for an entire week to give a fair chance.

Clare, so the Twilight books are good? I have seen them in the shop but thought they might have been teen-trash so didn't get them. Have you read the vampire chronicles? How do they compare?

MD and Clare, I would say I am sorry that E and L weaned, I guess it is a sad end of an era thing, but really I am just jealous lol

PAP, glad you had a good weekend. My cousin is here with her 3 year old girl, it is sooo cute watching her and W play together. Hope your arm is o.k.

Who were first and second on Triple J?

W has started building with his blocks now instead of just knocking them down, he can make 'owers' (towers) that are about 5-6 blocks high before they must be destroyed lol So cute.

MD and Clare - :hug: for DD's weaning. DD is going through a weird stage. Not interested for 2 days, then wants a morning and afternoon feed the next day. Then repeated with nothing for 2 days. This has been going on for just over a week. Poor boobies, so confused!!

Arte - sorry the rice milk didn't work again, but well done for getting him back to sleep without a BF all night!! That is definitely a bonus, you know he can do it so you can be stronger next time!

We don't have a clam pool here, but we have a blow up one. DD was playing in it even without water yesterday and carrying it around the backyard. I put it away in the garage for the week and you should have heard the scream!! DH came running, thought she had really hurt herself!!

DD had a big sleep in this morning, 7:15. That is only the third time past 7 since daylight savings switched on (and that first morning hardly counts as one)

And we had to have dolly propped up on the bench this morning - every spoonful of weetbix had to be offered to dolly first before DD!! Painful, but less painful than letting her do it herself!

the bite is terrible - my arm is so swollen. dh came home at lunch and is shocked. i put some hydrocortisone cream on from the pharmacy but so far no chg. guess i will do to gp if it continues to swell. geez i havent been v lucky lately - feel like sucha sook!
MD meant to say poor you re the attack, but glad it means you wll get things sorted sooner...i see u have been online toda so guess you arent being gall bladdered!!

i am a bit down, my grandfather is not doing well the last few days - really awful... poor mum is dealing with it all... didnt sleep well lastnight thinking about it all.

PP -so sorry to hear your granddad's not doing so well. Also full sympathies on the bite. Those marsh flies REALLY hurt, I've never known any one to puff up like that before, do you get a reaction to mozzies as well? :hug:

Cally - so cute re the dolly! Ah E just insists we take a bite of everything before she eats. Last night she had her dinner out of DH's plate cos she didn't want hers, she wanted his. *sigh* I can tell that's gonna get old real quick. We've just started a heatwave here too, 36 yesterday then three days of 41 (or more where I live). Crack out the icey poles!

dp and asha had a horrible vomiting bug and ive had just the nausia and awful dizziness but i spose that could be pregnancy related..
am so sick oif the tiredness thought that would be over by now *sigh* pitty party at my place!!
anyway i really dont know what to post coz i am so all over the place still hopefully will be back some time soon i a better state!!

yes i have air-con, but it's not the most effective air-con ever, better than nothing though. i am incredibly hot though and really struggling to do anything, i really can't believe the timing of this heatwave.i feel quite nauseous most days....anyway, enough whinging from me! i've got swimming tomorrow with ange and lu, but i do admit i feel a bit bad that lewis isn't really getting enough stimulation atm, poor little monkey. we took him to the beach yesterday, but it's just so hard with dh working all the time and me struggling so much now.

noni- hope asha is doing better now

pp- sorry about your grandpa, big hugs hun. we haven't done anything to prepare lewis for new bubs. i had a read of the chapter in toddler tactics about it, but tbh i think he's still too young.

arte- well done on the no bfing thing, keep it up hun!

MD yes i do react to mozzie but not like this - it is more like they get kinda infected quickly... gross. this is kinda bizarre and it is still swelling, now it hurts a lot when i straighten my arm...
Noni - poor DP and Asha, that is awful especially in the heat. i hope you dont catch it. are you at the end of the 1st tri yet (sorry i am sure you are, i just forget where everyone is up to)

MD, I was going to suggest that you go all out and have a bit of a self inflicted binge to bump yourself up the list, but it looks like mother nature took care of it for you. I hope that they give you a date soon. And you'll be FINE!!! Is H all excited about her new school?

Well we are sitting out the heatwave in our pool LOL. Mum brought the kids one of those INtex self supporting pools for Christmas and its been brilliant. The kids are about to head out for a swim now (I like to wait till 5 when the shade of the tree is over the pool or otherwise they cook) We can all fit in it - it's nearly 4m across and 70cm deep. I am just loving it. I even sneak out when they've gone to bed for a swim in my birthday suit ROFL. I feel so free when I do it LOL (but please don't try to form a mental picture of it ;) it ain't pretty)

so how about this heatwave huh? LOL! just thought to state the obvious for us victorians and south australians!! can u believe that it actually went from 34 degrees to 36 degrees at 5.30pm??? they reckon that it will hit 38 before tonight...
and 42 tomorrow. oh joy.

MD: that is soo awesome that our girls (like their mummas) have got that connection!! LOL! how cool. still feels really strange that she just doesnt care or ask and that the girls are reined back in...

Arte: in all honesty, i have never been sooo taken with a series of books. maybe it was the timing, but i just loved them. my friend in canberra was convinced as is half of melbourne uni's english and media PhD students. we are a sad bunch.
it does sound promising with the feeds. yay for a full night with the mighty boob. baby steps, baby steps. :)

Sherie: i am soo jealous of your mermaid moments in the pool (nudie rudie). i just love it too. love it when you are in the ocean like that. back in the day before slip slop slap us kids were always nakie at the beach. it was awesome.

PP: that bite does sound nasty. i reckon call the health line and get an opinion on it. i reckon it's because your immunity has had such a battering lately (especially from the tonsilitis) that it's just taken a bit of an extra hold.
i'm sorry to hear that your grandpa isn't well. it is so scary, especially if you live faraway. my Oma has been sick too, and i feel for her and my Opa who has to look after her.
ah stuff it and get Noah a dolly LOL! my neighbours got their baby boy a dolly and a stroller. you can get some awesome boy dolls these days (just to appease DH a bit!). I love watching them mimick and play with them. too cute!

Noni: oh that virus doesn't sound like too much fun. how do the bubs go with the vomiting? what are you meant to do??

Cally: that is so cute with the dolly! aw, you have a sharing girl there! i'm sure leila would rather bash dolly over the head than offer her her weetbix.

AFM: well we had mums group at the pool today. we all packed lunches and picnic rugs and hung out at the toddler pool. it was so much fun. then all the kidlets were so zonked that they all slept for hours! LOL!

My girls are all wonderful, Jess and Zoe are off to school tomorrow. There will be some tears (from me) as Zoe starts Prep.
I'd love to say I'll be back on soon to catch up, but the 2 hours that Hannah sleeps during the day is when I try to keep on top of everything , like housework :rolleyes:

well i am going to sign all the papers for ashas enrollment this morning, after the morning weve had i wanna put her in more than one day let me tell you haha but we will just start with one for now lol i cant afford the extra bond anyway haha.. coz we get a really good percentage from centrelink on the ccb so sending asha is only $23 a day but the bond system they use means you have to pay 2 weeks in advance of full fees which is like $70 something a day lol u get it back obviously.. i spose they have to have that in place as a bit of security incase u just run off without paying..
jazmum - great to see u popping on.. gosh im nver on top of this housework! cant resist the couch when asha is sleeping!
cassius - yeh the vomiting in bubs is horrible.. not much u can do except try and comfort them and do ur best to get the fluids in them.. i rang the health helpline we have here and they told me as long as she was still having wet nappies it was safe for me to keep her home so we just went by that.. wow i dont envy you with that heat wave! where we live we had a few days that were in the 40 degree range and i absolutely hated it hope u have air con!
trillian - yay on the pool! we only have one of those little plastic ones (similar to the shell but its a square) its just not as good as submerging urself tho!
pp - sorry to hear about ur grandad.. not technically at the end of the first tri yet im 13wks today so next week i will be.. how r u going with everything? tell me the tiredness ends soon?? haha
rain - u poor thing can u get some help from family or someone when dh is at work?? enjoy swimming!

JaZ: great to see you back! oooh starting school! i saw some first day tips for parents on sunrise today. i think mel has her daughter starting as well.

well i am in the office today. thought to escape the heat and DH is with Leila going to the museum...
we have no aircon at home so have pulled the blinds and curtains. i think it will stay fairly cool in there as we have a double brick victorian terrace. so it is very deep and dark. perfect for heat escapism.

Well we have the house closed up and the a/c set to come on a couple of hours before we get home and it's only going to be 32 here today!! Tomorrow I am out on site all morning which I am not looking forward to at all - hoping that everyone can get out nice and early so we can avoid the heat. I'd rather wake up a bit early than be hot.

Speaking of waking up early, DD slept past 7 again this morning!! Loving the extra time in bed!

Clare - hope your place stays nice and cool for you. Lucky L, going to the museum!! Great idea, mum's group at the pool!!

Trill - that pool sounds great. Love the nudie swim, one of the great advantages of having neighbours many km's away!!

Jaz - FB is easier isn't it just for a quick update and photos?

We had a bath last night. DD came running in with each of her dolls - I say 'No, Katie, Jemima doesn't need a bath', 'No K, Winston doesn't need a bath', 'No K, Ruby doesn't need a bath', then she got to the last one, 'No K, Hubert doesn't need a bath'. She started nodding at me then, like yes, he does!! It was so funny, we had a pile of toys outside the bathroom that had been discarded when she went to find another one!! So cute!!
