Ohhh MD what a shame You will have to keep and eye out for another one, or something similar.
Rainy - Yep I've seen the lady in Kenwick selling stuff, however I bought something off her before that turned out to be broken, and I ended up having an argument with her about it lol.
-
hey girls!
Ange: YES!!!!!!!!! i live just one suburb over from the purebaby warehouse so we are heading off there tomorrow arvo. madness to go on the weekend (went last time on the sat and it was PACKED!). but ah well, there are good bargains at the end. going with a friend that has just hit the lovely 12 week mark (with her first), so the excitement begins!!
MD: poo bum about the ebay thing.
totally have forgotten everything. as usual. bad baby buddy ATM.
we are all good here. i have chopped my locks. it was down past my shoulders and now it is a very short bob. feels amazing!
going to auction again tomorrow. not feeling as much love for this place, so will not be bidding anywhere near as high. lovely place but not a 'forever' place itms...
leila is just divine. we can tie her hair into a ponytail now and she just looks too cute. her dramatics are hitting a new level though. she has been practising her 'crying' in the mirror for awhile now, so this week she decided to debut it. so annoying as there is actually nothing that she is crying about, just purely for the dramatic effect . she is her mother's daughter.
-
MD-oh no! I am so sad 'we' missed out! Next time we'll gang up on them ok? Although I was hitting refresh I forgot my ebay password which I changed 2 something I would remember-so couldn't have helped u out. This blackberry takes ages too. I want broadies!
Cassius-the pre baby warehouse sounds exciting!!! How cheeky L is crying like a performer in the mirror! Oh that got me chuckling. I can imagine T doing that...rather soon. The drama is increasing here 2.
-
gyp- lucky i got outbid on one of kenwick lady's items then!
clare- good luck tomorrow
-
MD, bummer about the ebay kitchen, it looked adorable! Toy library has an old kitchen that they are planning to replace soon and I am hoping to buy the old one - it is a bit broken and has a few bits missing but will be good for W to do his play-dough cooking with.
PAP, how did things go with the big boy bed? I give W a bottle and cuddle in bed and sneak out after he has gone to sleep. He has also started calling DH and my bedroom 'dada's room', I feel bad for DH because I haven't slept in there since W moved to his own bed. It will be interesting to see if the next bub develops quickly like W has, I suspect that s/he will as I was an earlybird too - seems to be how we roll in my family. Do you find yourself planning for a #2 Noah? I keep planning things around the new bub being the same as W was as a newborn, I will be so shocked if I get a good day sleeper/ night screamer/ late talker and walker/a kid with hair!.
Rainy, it is great to hear that Jimmy is much happier. I saw on your ticker that he is 10 weeks old already!! That has flown by (probably not so much for you though lol). Is he doing all the cute little cooing sounds yet? LOL at L resuming his happy meal, such a boy!
Clare, good luck with the bidding tomorrow. I would like to get some sort of funky short haircut, but I have flat fine hair and if I cut it too short I just look lesbian. OMG at L practicing crying in front of the mirror! That is too funny! I don't mean to scare you but have you given any thought to the fact that one day she will be a teenager? If she is this dramtic now....
SuperB, didn't eat anything special when preg with W, didn't even take pregnancy vitamins
Thanks for all your kind words, I wish we could be a real life mothers group!
The insults continue to fly here - every time I start singing a little voice pops up and says "mum no singing today!", apparently I am not Idol material.
Where has Trill gone to lately? And Ozstar? Hope everything is o.k.
-
I"m here but I can't believe I have missed so many posts!!! ROFL. will be back later though.
-
Lol I just saw Lily Allen's not fair song with the country theme! She is just gr8!
-
Supa - I so want the lily allen cd!!! Next one on my list!
Arte - Hope you can eventually work your way back into your own room, without too much hassles.
Clare - Thinking of you today at auction, I hope you get it. I would love to be able to have short hair, but I cant pull it off. Post some pics on FB.
Does anyone else have a toddler squeezing their way in between mum & dad at night? M goes to sleep fine in her toddler bed, but whatever time it is during the night she ends up between us. We dont mind so much, in fact we think its quite nice, however we had a rough night with her in bed with us last night....my gosh she sprawled herself out right in the middle & wouldnt move. DH was grumping about it alllll night long. So I guess what I am trying to say is, do we need to keep putting her back into her own bed before it becomes a habit that sticks, or is having them sleep with you in bed not all that bad iykwim?
-
where is everyone today?
clare- how did you go today? hot avvy, maybe it's time i updated too.
ange- did you buy much from the purebaby sale?
gypsy- i'm not much help on the bed issue...we play musical beds in our house lol
arte- yes j makes heaps of little goo googa ga noises. he's just divine actually, very social and grins whenever lewis comes near him.
trill- where are you?
i'm a bit nervous about L starting 'kindy' on monday...i think i'm going to miss him too much!
-
hey girls!!
needed to post as i just saw my BRAND SPANKIN' NEW avvy!!!! how awesome is it??!!!!!!!!!!!
oh, and we didnt bother going to the auction today. i guess the universe told us that it wasnt meant to be the place so at the last moment we decided to ditch that idea.
went to the purebaby sale today and picked up the most beautiful clothes. man i love that place.
Gypsy: no more often than not leila gets irky when DH tries to cuddle us when we are lying in bed. she's an all or nothing kinda kid i guess LOL! no sharing is house rules according the word that is my girl LOL!
Arte: oh my. i guess you shall just have to hum from now on....your boy is amazing with the sentences. even if they are insults they are soooo darn cute :D
Sherie: i feel the same way, but the crazy thing here is that i am always in here LOL!
SupaB: hmmm havnt seen that one....must do so on monday...when i am at *work*.
-
Love the new av Clare, very cool!
So.....who can keep a secret? ;)
-
omg!!!! you're pregnant!!!!!!
i'm so happy!!!
-
gypsy....where are you??? i need to know, i'm dying here!!!
-
AH-HA!!! I knew something was up when you still didn't have your af yet. If you can't get a good night sleep while she is in your bed, then I would put her back into her bed. Its not really habit forming, because they certainly aren't still in your bed when they are 15 LOL, but it becomes a practicality thing IMO, like it's not practicle to have them in your bed if you can't sleep a wink while they are there kwim?
G, you will be fine when he's at kindy. And I bet you will miss him more than he will miss you LOL, it's always the way . How long is he going for?
Arte, dont' worry about the nay-sayers, you know what he is able to do and we know what he is able to do and we love hearing about it. One day they will see just how gorgeous and capable he is and then they will have to believe it.
Clare, the world has a house out there for you somewhere. You will know when it's the *right* one.
Have been doing loads of baking today. I haven't done any for ages but I decided to hook in and make enough to last the week.
-
trill- what are you baking?
he's going to kindy from 9am-12pm on monday. i'm a bit worried cos he's been getting tired earlier and went down for his morning sleep at10.45 this morning. i hope he lasts the distance!
girls what should i pack for a snack for kindy? i'm thinking a mandarin and a pack of sultanas. is that enough?
-
Gypsy - where are you? We're all very good at secrets!
Rainy - that sounds like plenty for a morning tea, you can always chuck in some water crackers or something if you're worried. I'm sure he will be fine and have a ball!
Arte - definitely keep telling us about W, I love hearing all the stories about him.
Noni - did you have any luck with council and your bond?
Clare - funky av!
K and I are in print - a friend sent a photo of a bunch of us from school with all our bubs and it's in the magazine from my old school (in the 'old girls' section!!)
-
G, I made a buttercake and two slices, one of which I am about to post the recipe for because OMG it's sooooo good! I would pack twice as much food as you think he will need - the mandarin, sultanas and some crackers - preferably go for low GI snacks or otherwise he will get the sugar rush and then crash and burn, when they are at kindy they are constantly on the go and they are usually ravenous by the time they have something to eat and the low GI will sustain him for longer.
ROFL at you being an 'old girl' Cally. Which school did you go to?
-
SnaP! Trill I was going to say the same thing - pack cheese and crackers, or some little sandwiches, or even some carby dry breakfast cereal to munch on. Plus the fruit and sultanas. How exciting, I'm sure he will have a great day!
Gypsy, I think maybe *everyone* has guessed what your "secret" might be. LOL and jumping little joyjumps for you hun, if that's what it is!!
Arte - I think the key with second children is - expect the unexpected. I only have to think about how different I am from my sister to know that's true! LOL
Spunky Av, Clare!! Very noice. Love that you managed to console yourself over the house by going clothes shopping ROFL! I bet your hair looks fantastic. I'm getting mine chopperooed into a total dykey-do tomorrow.
AFM - bit of a quiet weekend, spent *all* my money buying whiz-bang herbs and supplements at the naturopaths yesterday...trying to think where I can materialise more cash from so I can keep my "habit" going for the next 3.5 months LOL! BTW my chemo starts on Monday 25th (eek) and the word on the street is H-A-I-R-L-O-S-S so I've got a few weeks to funkify my hat & scarf collection. Good thing it's winter, hey? Anyway I told my sister that if it all comes out I want to get the most amazing gnarly henna tattoo all over my scalp...and guess what? She signed up for a henna tattooing course! :D Ain't life grand?
-
MD, mums partner didn't lose any hair at all, not that he had much to begin with ROFL as he's nearly bald anyway, but yeah, he never lost any. Apparently a lot of people have it come back really curly at first too. I love the idea of a henna tattoo on your head.
-
mmm buttercake is my fave...we're about to make a sultana cake.
ok, i'll add some cheese and crackers for him too...i can't believe how nervous i am!
md-what's your tatt gonna be?
-
I have secretly desired to have curly hair my whole life...please please please! LOL. Though they also say it "might grow back a different colour" and I'm wondering if this is a euphemism for "you will go grey overnight"??? :o
ETA - re the henna tatt - prolly just a large swirly design... based on middleastern motifs - will research the symbology of things like life, love, health and get those in there too. Chuck a few arcane symbols on too, mebbe. :p
-
hi girls!
Gypsy: :dance::dance: if it's what we are ALL thinking it is...then this a very big (but very very quiet LOL!) "YAY"
MD: hmm i'd also smell a rat if they used such airy fairy language as 'hair colour change'...
and yeah, you do need quite the oil baron income when it comes to anything non-conventional medicine. do you have a PHI that may fork out some of the outlay?
Sherie: so so jealous of your baking prowess. i am such a failure when it comes to anything with ovens and sweets. urgh. although i do live in hope so have opened up your slice recipe thread LOL!
Cally: eeek! i think i would have palpitations if i was in any school magazine now LOL! i haven't aged gracefully LOL!
AFM: well spent half the day at the camberwell baby and kids market. spent $40 bucks but have picked up a pair of mittens, some french designer velvet pants, a fiona scanlan top, this cool danish whistle toy, a brand new funky organic cotton skirt with cool stencil pattern on the front and a gorgeous swedish couture (brand new!!) dress (it has these cute little beads and stitching soooo divine! so between that and yesterdays haul, leila is decked out this winter and coming spring! so happy. all her clothes were starting to be kindy-outted LOL!
-
Sorry for keeping you all waiting. Well AF was due last Tues/Wed & I thought AF was on her way on Friday so I put in a pad & forgot about it. However by Sat arvo, still nothing. I had a couple of tests left so I quickly did one on Sat night before jumping in to the shower, expecting a neg, but there was definately two lines - a positive!!! So I tested again this morning, & a positive result again. Both times the lines have been pretty faint, so I decided to buy one of those clear blue digitial tests this arvo & it came up 'not pregnant'. So hmmm!! I dont know, I just read on google that the clearblue digital are not very sensitive, so I might have to wait a couple more days before re testing to see if the line gets darker. So I guess I am utd - I dont know, what do you all reckon? It would definately explain my symptoms and the just knowing this was it iykwim??
-
Sorry I have not been a very good baby buddy of late girls, will try and jump on and explain later.
Just wanted to say OMG congrats H thats the most awesome news.
-
oooh Gypsy! it sounds purty good!!!!!!!!!!!
Oz: it's just awesome to see you, even if it's just a quick pop in!
AFM: about to log off and go to bed....such a nanna these days. DH has been asleep for an hour already...
-
Gypsy, sounds like your gypsy magic IS working!!! Def test again in a day or two!!
-
Gypsy- !! Oh my goodness, I am SO excited for you! I have told DH and everything... Lol. He says 2 lines is 2 lines. I also informed him proudly that ur DD bday is the same as T's. Ha ha hint hint....
MD- wow re henna tatt. If ur hair does grow back it won't grow where the tatt is though will it? Would love to see ur design when u find one. Good luck with your chemo. I wanted to meet up b4. Should we wait now til u feel up to it?
Ozstar-hope everything is ok.
Will post later.... Got inspired by u guys + have borrowed Twilight book#1 from a friend.
-
Gypsy-opps my DD bday is 26 not 27. Oh boy I have lost my mind! Shhhh don't tell her!
-
gypsy- both times with the boys when i first poas it was really really faint....so i would say conratulations!!!! how exciting...now we've just gotta think of names...LOL..i'm so happy for you!!!
well it's nearly time to take lewis to kindy.we've just spent thelast 2hours cuddling on the couch watching teletubbies and yo gabba gabba. idk if i've made the right decision, he's still such a baby sometimes, i'm just getting cold feet i think, idk if he's ready yet.....is this more of that bl88dy mothers guilt?
-
H, I have neve gotten a really dark line on a test, even when I was a fair way along. So CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! It's so exciting!
G, I guess maybe it's more to do with this being the first real time he's being looked after by someone outside the family/friend circle kwim? I'm sure he's more than ready, he is such a social and happy little boy. And when you pick him up I bet he will have a fistfull of artworks that he's done ready for you to stick on the fridge
Clare, did you make the slice last night? I lost inspiration for ages cause I had a crappy stove that didn't work and would either burn or undercook things, so the mojo came back when I got a new stove. WOOHOO on the bargains too, the little dress sounds gorgeous. I love being able to buy flashy stuff like that for next to nothing.
Not much happening today. I really have to get stuck into my room though because it's just become a dumping ground lately for everything that can't fit anywhere else in the house and it's starting to bug me that I don't have a tidy room.
-
Rainy- I can understand u r feeling bad but Lewis will love it! When u pick him up he'll b excited 2 c u. Yeah and I agree he will have a load of artwork for u + will b flat out telling u all about it.
Trill-good luck with ur room, I'll b proud of u if u can get it sorted today! It feels so good when u clean up ur bedroom-its more relaxing, and can do a lot for the libido! LOL. If that's what u want.
Gypsy-everyone is calling u 'H' I think I've missed something!
-
Gypsy, Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you, how exciting! Don't worry too much about the digital test, it is probably too early to get a positive result in the arvo.
Rainy, hope kindy is going well. I always pack a heap of food when we go to playcenter etc because at home he will only eat a cracker or biscuit between breakfast and lunch but when he sits down at playcenter he will eat a sandwich, peice of fruit, two biscuits, chippies and still want what other kids have!
SupaB, I wrote W's birthday on the chart on the wall at playcentre, then realised I had the wrong date! So embarrassing, had to tell the supervisor so I could change it to the correct date.
MD, I strongly suspect the 'grow back a different colour' is a nice way of saying 'you might go grey/white'. I am sure that is just a minority though, hopefully you get to keep all your dykey-do.
-
Gypsy- I say a positive is a positive! Mine was sooooo faint i thought i was seeing things with Sas. But a couple of days later it was much darker. Conratulations, hope it's a little sticker!
G- He will LOVE it! It really is just mothers guilt. You're not dropping him off to get rid of him, you're dropping him off for the social interaction and all the fun he will have. Let me tell ya, if i thought the occasinal care here was anygood, i'd have Lu booked in, in a second. But given on the day i went to check it out, a kid almost got squashed by a bookcase and it was absolutely out of control, i won't be leaving Lu there! Honestly, he'll love it, and if he doesn;t you don;t have to keep sending him.
MD- Your sister rocks. How cool is she signing up to do that course for you! cool. How's your family coping with it all? I think all the stuff from the natrpoth should be free for people having chemo. It sux that it costs the earth. You could ebay all your unwanted goods to raise some money...
Trill- i'm off to find that slice recipe....... mmmmmmmmm
Clare- yep, Av is hot, hot hot. Did trill do it????
Spent too much at pure baby. Got loads of great stuff though at a great price though....
Got to run, have to meet a lady in Epping today. She's helping us out with all things fire related. bbl.
-
hi girls
i dropped lewis off then me and jimmy went to the bakery and had a coffee and apple scroll and a little cry...
i hope he loves it. the carer said she would ring me if he got really upset.
little jimmy was hanging his head out of the hab gooing and gaaing and smiling at everyone, he's such a chatterbox!! always wanting attention!!
i'm bidding on a bulk lot of little people on ebay. the seller lives just down the road from me...but someone keeps outbidding me!!!!!
ange- put lu in where lewis is and then come hang out with me!!!
did you buy stuff for sas or lu at purebaby?
-
Ange, how is everything fire related going? Is your DH still on the same farm?
-
hi everyone
i'm sorry i've been slack, and i'm going to be again
i just caught a glimpse of a post by Gypsy, and got the goosebumps - YYYYYYAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY for you Gypsy!!!!!!!!
i'll try and catch up when Han has a sleep.
-
hi girls!
Ange: i *think* i went a bit crazy at purebaby too LOL! and i only have one bubs so i can only imagine!! one girl there spent close to $500!!!
Sherie: no, havent made the slice yet...am heading to the shops this arvo :D. i am pretty excited i must say!
oohh it is sooo nice when you clean the bedroom. it doesnt last long but i reckon it's a better nights sleep when it's all 'better homes and gardens' clean LOL!
Rainy: *mwah* hope you're doing ok today! i'm sure that after this first day he will hit the ground running and then you and jimmy can be guilt free as you chow down on baked sweeties!
Arte: too funny on the birthday date! i tend to forget the year . mostly cause i realise that she is growing up!
AFM: all good here. over the whole house buying thing. basically if they advertise a price range, add $100,000 and you are starting to get the 'real' price. so over it. maybe i'll take a mega holiday instead...tahiti anyone??!
-
Rainy- Sounds like a fine idea to me! Not sure you're allowed to use occasional care out side your shire though..... Mostly stuff for Sas, but a few things for Lu. They mostly had small sizes. Got some lovely organic cotton single bed sheets. They are kinda like t-shirt material. nice.
Arte- The farm we were on no longer exisits. There are no fences, yards, sheds etc. But the company DH works for has 4 other farms. DH has always worked over all 5 properties, so now his work just involves the remaining 4 farms. Where we used to live was leased by his boss, so they just terminated the lease as it was due for renewal anyway.
I meant to tell you all, i think Lu has had a word explosion. Is that what they call it? She suddenly has lots and lots of words. It makes things a bit easier as she can communicate a little better. I love hearing her try to say things, sometimes it takes me a while to work out what she's saying, but i generally get there in the end! Kiss is her fave i think, she always want to 'kish' Sassy.
Still in PJ's..... crap!
-
LOL Supa, you make me laugh! Keep dropping those hints, I wish you all the best with ttc. My name is Hayley - hence the H! Feel free to call me whatever.
Rainy - Aww dont worry, I know its easy to say that, but L will love daycare. It will be so good for him as well, mingling with other children. And you will have one on one time with J.
Thanks girls for the congratulations and reassurances. We are still a bit omg, we didnt really think it could happen within the first month. However what a nice surpise, we feel very very lucky! Keep your fingers crossed for us, & think sticky vibes!!!
-
This is a post for Miss Gyspy....
:stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy::stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy:
SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!
