Morning Jazmum,Art and Katie.
Jazmum- Yeah finally and woke up about 7.30am DH let me have a sleep in. I was thinking the same about Olivia. She is so different to the boys. And I felt the same about my DH yesterday. I wish he could have had more time off. However he said he will be coming home early today to take the boys swimming lessons. I am venturing out today my brother is coming over to take us to buy my dad a birthday pressie for thursday so I told him we will go out for lunch, so it should be nice just to get out of the house.
I hope everyone else is having a great day.
-
Hi Leanne - glad you got your sleep in :) I hope you have a lovely day with your brother today and you find something nice for your dad. My dad's birthday is next week - but he's told me he just wants a voucher - so that lets me off pretty easy doesn't it!!!
Do you have to get into the pool with your boys, or do they go with the instructor?
My Dh has been getting the dinner ready every night for the past 3 weeks, so it will be interesting to see how i go tonight. My house looks like a bomb has gone off!!!!! I hope noone does a 'drop-in' visit today (although wouldn't mind if it was my mum :) )
-
Hi Jazmum- You sure do get off pretty easy lol. my dad wants a stereo player so we are all putting in to buy him one. Yeah we have to get in the pool so granny and nanny have been doing it for a while and today DH wants to go in with granny but nanny still goes to help when they get out of the pool so its a group effort. My house too looks like a bomb has gone off. I was just thinking it would be nice to have a cleaning lady or the magic fairy to come and clean it up for me. How is Jessica today I hope she is better.
-
Leanne - great that you have granny and nanny to help you out with the swimming lessons. I have to book my girls in soon - but i'm thinking i might try and get into a saturday morning class. We used to have someone come our place for private lessons - but they need the extra length of a big pool now.
I would like to get my dad something nicer than a voucher - but I don't know what to get him, and he said he wants a voucher.
-
Jazmum- I love giving vouchers as I am always worried what I get is not what they really want and at least with vouchers they can buy what they want or need. And also I dont have to think of something to get. lol.

Hi ladies,
Well Loagan is alseep so I have been trying to get soem housework done. I really need to vacume and mop the floors though.
Leeane its nice that your DH let you have a little sleep in. Hopefully you get a bettr nights sleep tonight. How was your lunch today? Its so nice to get out of the house isnt it.
Jazmum I am sure your right and Hannah is still adjusting to life outside the womb. My DH could only take a week off work and went back last Monday, he called me every few hours to see how Logan was doing.
I cant wait to put Logan into swimming lessons. We are hoping he is a water baby like me and his dad as we like to spend as much time as possible at the beach.
-
katie - lucky you being able to go to the beach when you want. Which part of the gold coast are you from? - My sis lives in broadbeach, and she's able to head to the beach for a walk every afternoon. That's something i wish i could do.

Hi everyone!!
Katie and I got home from the hospital today. So far all is good because she hasn't woken up from her last feed she had there. We are having some feeding issues - she took 30 minutes to latch on at 2:00 this morning. She's interested and lunges for food, but then doesn't do the sucking part. Very frustrating as this only started once the milk came in, before then she was getting on straight away. This morning we tried expressing a couple of ml's beforehand and that seemed to work so she knows what's coming.
Feeling pretty sleep deprived still - hoping that I will sleep better at home. DH is having a nap now so he is right for later tonight.
Can hear some noises so better go and check on her!!
-
Well lunch was nice we went to LoneStar. We got dads pressie too we picked up a sharp 5 stacker player for only $269 at Betta at Aspley so between 4 of us the price was right. My Brother said that he wont be having kids which made me laugh. The boys are a bit of a handful at the moment. lol.
Cally - Congratulations on the birth of Hamish. I hope you get some sleep tonight.
-
Boy its quiet in here today.
Well is fine with us Olivia is sleeping at the moment and I am about to take to boys outside for some outside play time.

Hey everyone
I have had a bad night. I gave Logan his 11pm feed and noticed my bb was a little sore so I massaged it. Then woke up this morning and my bb was rock hard and beyond painful, I couldnt even raise my arm. DH had to take the day off and take me to the Dr. I have mastitis (caught early tho) and am now on some antibiotics. I have given Logan one feed and applied some cold clothes and it feels better already. I have to go and see the Dr again on Sunday. I have emailed the ABA to get some more info of them too.
How is everyone else doing? Getting much sleep?
Leanne sounds like you got yourself a bargin yesterday.
Jazmum I am in Ashmore not far from Surfers. It is awesome being able to just go to the beach whenever we like, although parking up here is a nightmare. I would love to be bale to walk to the beach.
-
Katie - you poor thing!!!!!! I hope the ABs clear up the mastitis for you really quickly.
re - sleep - i don't seem to get very much at all. If i was able to - i should really go to sleep early - like 8:30 (depending on what time Hannah feeds) and then get up for the next feed - but i have so much to do. Because i'm staying home more, Zoe seems to make more of a mess with her toys - and i have to admit i make a bit of a mess too!!!
Leanne - glad you had a nice day yesterday
Cally - great to see you here!!!!
I took Hannah to get her Hand and Feet moulds today. She was such a good girl :) I'm finding she gets really hot in her capsule though- Does anyone know if you can buy inserts for the capsules that you hire - to support her head?
-
Jazmum - we bought an insert from KMart, but I have seen them at baby shops too.
Well I managed to get outside for a walk yesterday down to the beach. Was very good to get out of the house.
Last night wasn't too bad, but am still planning an afternoon nap as well. I greatly admire you mums that already have little ones at home, we are both exhasusted with just Katie.
Ozstar - glad you caught the mastitis early.

Hi Cally - how nice to be able to go for a walk to the beach. I might try to take all of the girls to the local park this afternoon. We haven't been out very much lately - i've turned into a bit of homebody since hannah was born.
Yesterday Hannah did THE biggest pooh ever! All over me!!! I was changing her on the mat on the floor - had her nappy off and a projectile poo shot out all up my arm and over the carpet. Jess and Zoe were up so fast and both of them were dry reaching while laughing!!! We were all laughing so much, with poo absolutely everywhere - and little Hannah looked very pleased with herself. Aaah the joys :)
-
Lovely - projectile poo!! Haven't had that happen yet, but 3 times so far she has wee-ed all over the change table. At least I remember now to move her clothes well out of reach of the bottom end when I am changing her!
How long are you guys feeding for? I was told yesterday that she only really needs 20 - 30 mins total, but another midwife told me an hour all up (including nappy change and waking her up when she naps off). I've been doing it for probably more than an hour because it seems to take a long time to wake her back up sometimes. I'm just wondering if I can cut back a bit, have cracked nipples so would like to give them a bit of a break.
-
Hi Cally - with regards to breastfeeding - i'm actually not worrying about the timing this time around. With Jess and Zoe I used to write everything down and how much time they spent on each boob. I found it quite stressful. This time i don't really look at the clock. I just feed each side until she comes off. Sometimes she comes off early - so i burp her and then put her back on the same side. Sometimes when she has fallen asleep, i just place the other nipple in her mouth and she eventually starts to suck on it.
Hope your cracked nipples heal soon. What are you putting on them?
-
The midwives just told me to put hind milk on them after each feed and give them a bit of sun. Also, air them out, rather than wearing a bra around the house. A few friends highly recommend Lansinoh so I am thinking of trying that out now.
-
Jazmum, that poo story is very funny. Logan pooed with his napy of once in the hospital. It wasnt a projectile though. Both DH and Ihave been squirted a few times tho he did a wee on himslef while I was changing him this morning.
Cally I have stopped watching the clock and just let Logan tell me when he is hungry and when he has had enough. Generally when he wakes up we play for 20 min or so (give or take) then I feed him and once he has finished change him and offer him the other side, he generally only takes one side. Sometimes he feeds for 10 mins sometimes half an hour. I agree with Jazmum though it is to stressful watching the clock. Let Katie guide you.
How do your bubs sleep durring the day? Logan seems to change everyday, sometimes he sleeps sometimes he wont sleep unless I am holding him.
