Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Ok thanks Bea. G's haven't been hard and dry, well today was the closest but only a couple of firm-ish bits then the bulk was mush lol I got some prunes tonight so I'll give them a go. Do you soak them in boiling water first if you're giving them to her to eat whole or only when you put them in he cereal?
DB Logan sounds like he's doing some great growing!! How did he go with his teeth any problems? G has been terrible getting hers, she has 7 with the 8th on the way now. I'm hoping after this one we'll get a break for a while.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Willow- they are pretty soft and squishy so I don't soak when I feed them on their own (dried pitted prunes I find woolworths home brand the best, nice and plump) just have to watch them because of the skin but you can break it up yourself and feed her bit by bit.
DB- Logan sounds like he is doing well!! Glad to hear from you

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! :D
Christmas bought crawling, pulling to stand and easier pooing here :D Was hoping Santa would bring better sleep but no such luck, I hope I don't need to wait until next Christmas!! :crossfingers: :crossfingers:

Hi ladies!! Merry Christmas to all!!
Sorry haven't been on of late as we have had Eleni's Christening, DD1's 6th Birthday party and family is here from overseas!! Crazy times!
No teeth yet!! did any of yourse get temp/ runny nose with teething?
Crawling- half crawl, then she gives up and calls for someone to go get her! haha...we are bum shuffling though! LOL
pooping...I give Eleni pear at least every second day with yogurt and that seems to keep her soft!...
going to try and get an "early" night, but will be back soon for more!....;)
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Was a good Christmas here but now quite frankly over school holidays and still another 4 weeks to go.
Bum shuffling here to in some weird bizarre way which consists of her going into crawling position then sitting back up repeating which eventually gets her to what she wants... Takes forever though
Terrible terrible sleep last night though. Think it might be here teeth again as we have cut number 5 and number 6 is on it's way.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Haha Georgia started with the same kind of crawling style as Zoe by the sound, now she crawls but still has a kind of quirky technique with one leg out straight foot on he floor and the other bent with knee one the floor. But she gets there. She's full on trouble loves electrical cords, the laptop one is hard to hide, and thinks she can stand by herself. She stood up at the lounge today, let go and tried to walk to me, luckily I was at arms reach because she took one step and would have face planted if I wasn't there to catch!
Georgia got slight temps with her teeth and a bit of a runny nose. We have four up top and three down bottom still waiting for the fourth which is taking it's time compared to the rest.

Hi All. Happy New Year.
Logan got his first tooth mid December and another on 1 January. He has been super clingy to me. I held him for 3hrs straight yesterday. Hes over 12kg now so that was good for my uoper body strength. If I put him down the bottom lip starts to quiver and the tears start to roll.
He is trying to stand and can manage a few seconds holding onto the lounge by himself.
I've got two weeks more holiday so we are hoping to take a short break.
Has anyone thought of first birthday party ideas? We are thinking about Dreamworld on the Gold Coast but it all depends on my work.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
DB- We are doing a Sesame Street Zoe theme.. already ordered the cake and have some decorations.. Will be held at my MIL house as ours is way to small and she is currently upgrading her backyard entertainment area.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Beatrix - you're good being so organised already.
I think we will have a Giggle and Hoot theme. Whenever the theme tune comes on he stops and listens. He loves it.
You've motivated my to start looking for some things.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Logan has his bottom two teeth and today he was agitated when I tried to feed him. He bit down to the point I cried. I feel bruised. How do you keep feeding through the pain? Should I express milk for him until I heal? I feel bruised. He has made me bleed once before. The oain was agonising.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
DB- I have to order a lot of my stuff from overseas being sesame street and not one of the main characters so hard to find plus $$
As for the teeth, Zoe has bitten me a few times. She has two top and two bottom with another top and bottom coming through that seem to be driving her nuts. She hadn't bitten since the top two came in but today got me a good one :( I have just been laniosh(sp) cream and still feeding she feeds about 4-5 times a day still.
I do the firm no and take it away from her. Then I offer to her a couple minutes later telling her no biting. If she does it again it's gone til next feed.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Logan feeds 5 times a day still too. My right breast has given up milk production altogether. I thought it was weird but I googled it and it is quite common. I was hoping to feed Logan until he reached one but if this biting keeps up I'll put him on formula for the last three months. I took your advice, Beatrix, and took him off and gave him another go. He did it again so I cuddled him for about 15mins. He was nearly asleep when I put him on again and he fed fine and then drifted off to sleep.
My head is spinning tonight. My inlaws gave my 2yo daughter stupid amounts of chocolate and lollies when I was in my room feeding Logan. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind if she has a treat but they gave her a big bag of m and m's, 3 freddo frogs, a kit kat and a bowl of jellybeans....and she ate them within 20mins (the time it took for me to feed and change Logan). Her little body couldn't cope with the sugar and she had meltdown tantrums. She was really out of control which upset my husband and I. He had words with them and they rolled their eyes and said "You can't blame chocolates on that behaviour. She is just being naughty and you need to sort her out". DH was so p!ssed off that he asked them to leave. We were upset because our little girl was squealing and bawling her eyes out to the point she was dry reaching. It took nearly two hours to get her to sleep. It usually takes less than 15mins.
I really don't understand how they thought this was a good idea. Whatever. They won't talk to us for a few weeks now so that should give us some peace.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Aggghhhh.... Logan is sleeping right through and I can't. I haven't been to bed yet... scrubbed the kitchen and cleaned out the pantry... now I'm halfway through the linen cupboard and I'm finally getting weary. I wish I was this motivated during the day.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Oh DB- I would be majorly pooped if anyone gave that much sugar to my child!!! Weird about the one side no milk thing.. I have one side that produces more then the other and that is my left.. the rights no great but still plenty. Hoping you make it to 12 months if thats what you want
I am getting comments from people trying to feed Zoe all sorts of stuff lately and when i say she hasnt had processed sugar and chocolate yet, i have been called a mean mummy!! I feel like i have to hover and eyes like a hawk because I do not want her having that yet....
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
People are commenting about Zoe not having had processed sugar yet?? I haven't considered Logan having anything sugary. I've received three comments recently saying how wonderful it is that my 2yo has only ever had water or milk to drink. Of course those comments didn't come from my inlaws.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Yep. Zoe hasn't anything but milk and water too.
The thing is Zoe has two cousins the same age and their mums are a bit more lenient with food then I am. I say not to hot chips etc where as they don't mind bubs having some and things like ice cream. Zoe hasn't had even a lick but I also make her own with organic yoghurt in a ice cube tray with a stick so she isn't missing out on the whole summer ice block thing.
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
Beatrix - how do you make the organic yoghurt icy poles?
Re: Babies Born ~ April 2013 #2
I have some paddle pop stick cut in half and use the organic yogurt from the shops and use them in a ice cube tray
