And just quickly everyone, I thought I'd post a link to this post about an additive called "Anatto" or 160B. Apparently it can cause massive tantrums and head banging in babies and young children. Because it's natural it is sometimes included in things that say "no additives" such as Rafferty's fruit bars! Something to be avoided!! Very scary!!

Brussels, glad your stitch went well and I loved reading about Eva playing with dolls. Ryan drives Craig's cars and trains around and makes brrrrrm brrrrrrm car noises, it's so cute! Funny how they learn all of this by themselves.

Tilda, if Matilda can tell you that she's done a poo then that's a good sign. You can try sitting her on the potty in the morning after her breakfast and see if she'll use it. It's not too early to think about it, especially when most of us were out of nappies at 18 months old. There's some good sites (which I can't post here because they sell stuff) on potty training.

AFM - We've been holidaying at our on site caravan since after Xmas and only got back home yesterday. While we were away we had some firsts, good and bad. I got up on the wakeboard for the first time. Craig caught his first fish and had his first ride on a tube behind our ski boat. Ryan got his first stitches after pulling the set top box for the TV in the caravan on to his eyebrow :( He stands and will take up to 3 steps before sitting down again, but that's it. He's also pretty good at communicating, but more with words than gestures. Craig was more of a gestures kid, whereas Ryan is much more verbal, probably because he hears Craig and I talking all day. Anyway, I'm enjoying a couple of days back at home, but can't wait to get back to the caravan so I can have another go at wakeboarding.

Tilda thanks for the link very interesting. I've become a bit of a hippy mum (as one of my friends referred to me as) I'm very picky with what I feed Harry and things like that reinforce my conviction. Even when you think you're doing the right thing, a natural additive can be just as bad.
I looked into the rafferty's brand, and some other natural no preservative type brands a little a while back, even though they say they have no preservatives etc, they can sometimes have a loop hole. They can say no preservatives if they don't put it in the food, but they sometimes coat the inside of the packaging with it instead, then don't have to disclose it as it's not an ingredient in the food. So you never know with the pre packaged stuff.
How's the weaning going? I can imagine how you're feeling sad, can you keep a feed or two going? Or are you getting too tired with it, specially at night? Different poo's maybe a new food? Could be teething or a change in your milk. If Matilda's happy and healthy I wouldn't worry too much.

Hannah We dismantled our bed and put the mattress on the floor a month maybe 2 ago. Made a big difference! It's a pitty you can't do the same. Harry's 'bed room' is actually just full of crap at the moment, our bed included. He doesn't sleep in there so I thought bugger it. We've just got our shed back up so I can sort it out soon and get some sort of order happening. Not that it will include him sleeping in there just yet I wouldn't imagine. Does Amelia have a bedroom ( I can't remember sorry) maybe you could convert it to a crap room like us, just until her sleeping habits improve?

Hi Carmey and Kanda :hello: Hope all is well with you guys.
AFUS Harry has taken a few steps the last couple of days but he's not really aware he's done it so walking is a way off I think. But we finally have some words! Up is the favourite, he even tells me to get 'up' out of bed in the morning :p He says tick tick tick while he tickle your feet which is cute. He says 'uh oh' and all dogs are 'Di' one of our dogs is Bindi but he can only say Di. He also sort of says 'don't touch' and really tries to say lasagne when he's having it, it's a favourite meal, so he kind of chants la-a-ah. Last night we thought he said Oprah! Of all things, he doesn't even say mummy yet!! He's always liked Oprah's voice so when she was on last night I said 'look it's Oprah' he stopped, looked, and said what sounded a lot like Oprah, twice he hasn't repeated it, so we're not sure lol He's a bit bossy though, when he wants something else to eat he'll do the sign for more food, point to the kitchen and tell me to get up trying to lift me by the arms, cheeky monster :D
He's not sleeping any better at night, and is very restless. I hardly ever put him in his cot any more even for day sleeps because he moves around so much in his sleep he was hitting his head, legs, feet or arms on the cot and hurting himself, and waking up even more often. So he sleeps on our bed, which is now a mattress on the floor,as I was telling Hannah. Quite often he rolls or crawls off in his sleep and I'll find him on the floor still asleep. I just put a sheet or blanket on him and leave him. It's better than him hurting his head in the cot or me trying to move him back to bed and waking him. Ds2 was like this too, and he still is. He used to fall out of bed even with bed rails. He's fallen off the top bunk when he was between 9 and 12 and didn't really wake up when he did! When he was about 3 I found him asleep on the middle of a stair case not a small stair case either, it was two flights up from the first floor, about 10 or 12 steps each flight, and he was on the second flight up about half way. I took a photo, when we asked him in the morning he had no idea and didn't believe us.
I hope I didn't miss anyone in the persies sorry if I did!!! I'm off to get a wink of sleep before Harry beckons.
Willow, I love Harry's words! We say "ticky ticky" when tickling our boys and Ryan said it to DH the other day, it was so cute! I think that every now and then at this age they can mimic a word perfectly that they've just heard, but they don't say it again. Ryan said 'Elmo' 5 times one day when watching Sesame Street with Craig, but hasn't said it again since.

Suzi We did actually wonder if he did wake up on the way down but was unconscious when he hit :o ...Great parenting :redface: but he seemed fine we picked him up and told him to get back in to bed, to which he replied 'why aren't I in bed?' And had no recollection in the morning :lol:

We laid MIL to rest on Thursday, it was a beautiful service, we'd picked lovely music and it was just so nice. It was a cremation and FIL is having her ashes put into an Urn and keeping them in his living room.
We're heading off on a trip to Dunsborough for a few days, so thought I'd just pop in quickly before we leave.
Willow - thats great Harry is saying some words! Still no words here...tho he still says "mo" if he wants more of something, or wants something he can't get to. Maybe that counts as a word? Not sure!
Suz - Sorry to hear Ryan got stitches, poor little chap. I hope he's healing well. Hope yo uhave a lovely trip :)
Tilda 0- thanks for posting that link - that was a bit of an eye-opener. I actually have some of those bars, but won't be giving them to him anymore. it would be so handy if there was just a list of food that is safe for kids...does anyone know of one?

Beany - I'm so glad the service went well. A trip down south is probably just what you all need. My grandfather was an army man and he always said it was easier to move a battalion than a family! LOL!
Willow - first steps! Well done Harry. I think you'll find he becomes much more independent when he starts to walk. That's what I've noticed with Matilda. She still has her clingy days but its much better than it was. Harry sounds like such a restless little sleeper! How do they stay in bed when they transition from the cot/our bed???? I haven't worked any more on the weaning. I'm doing an early morning feed around 4:30 and then one around bedtime and I feel pretty happy with that for now. Maybe in another month when I start getting bigger I'll drop another feed. I'm hoping I'll eventually be able to give her cows milk at 4:30 and still get her back to sleep! Or maybe I should bite the bullet and just drop that feed altogether.
Suz - stitches! Ouch! I'm just waiting to have to do some here. Matilda goes flying around and has had some rather nasty bumps lately. Sounds so nice to be able to take off to the caravan.
Alison - how's it going over there in Perth? Still nice and hot? Did I ever answer your question about a CS? I did have a CS with Matilda. I elected to have one because of my back and I was actually really happy with how it all went. So I think I'll stick with a CS for the next one too.
BS - I'm glad it's not just me that finds it hard to imagine the next baby. Summer in the mountains with all your family sounds like heaven. Funny that we're switching seasons this time around. You'll be having the summer baby and I'll be having the winter baby this time. It's not very convenient clothes wise! I won't be able to use any of the pretty little summer outfits if I have another girl. Are you going to find out the sex. I'm going to in about a month. I think it might make it easier to start imagining this baby!

AFUs - Well I think I've accepted that we're still on two sleeps a day most days and I just have to take her for a car or pram trip for the second one. I tried stretching her so that the sleep would fall more in the middle of the day but the poor dear literally fell asleep sitting up eating lunch yesterday!!! It made me realise she really does need her morning sleep and that its not just my imagination. It's just such a drama to get her down in the afternoon unless we do the car/pram thing - even though she's tired and obviously needs the sleep. I can't believe how much she's changing at the moment. She seems to learn how to something new everyday and she communicates so much now. She hassles me to go out now by patting her head which means hat because hat usually means "we get to go to the park". This morning she insisted on sitting on the seasaw on her own while I sat on the other end. I was a bit nervous because its actually quite far to fall but she held on tightly and had a rip roaring time. And I always have to sit on the swing next to her and swing at the same time. Talk about reliving your childhood! There's really not much baby left.

Also as far as cerclage goes, I will have to get stitches removed and be induced on the same day. Usually people get sent home if there is no immediate opening after removal but since I feel no contractions until around 9cm, the doctor does not want to risk me going into labor at home, since the second will prob come faster. So My due date will fall between the 15-20 of June and not at 40 weeks....I'll be induced between 37 and 38 weeks....

I have seen the new piccies, she is so grown up! She is gorgeous!!!!! I love the name ava too - it was the name I wanted for eva but in french the pronunciation would have been AH-VAH, so we went with Eva, which is Eh- Va in french :)
I'll keep you girls posted on names...I had two I loved for boys but am having a hard time settling on faves for girl's names!

All is going ok with me, still taking a day at a time. Jett has started to settle down now and is back to sleeping better.
We went away last weekend Jett and I. We had a lovely time up the central coast, the weather was lovely and it was nice to get away. Only bad thing was Jett got bitten by a dog :( It was my aunty's dog who is the sweetest dog however gettting a little old now. I was watching Jett crawling around and ddin't even know the dog was inside and Jett crawled around the corner where the dog was asleep and I think he scared him and the dog bit him on the hand it got his poor little thumb. I have never heard Jett scream so loud and hold his breath for so long. We are very lucky as it wasn't too bad.
Does anyone use the Hyland's Teething Tablets? We have been using them and they have been fantastic however over the past week I have been to about 10 chemists and everyone said they were on back order however yesterday a chemist told me the have been recalled. I had a look on there website and they were recalled in October. They say it is because of inconsistent amounts of belladonna.
I hope everyone had a lovely Australia Day, for those of us in Sydney it was sooooo hot. Jett and I spent most of the day in air con or our friends pool.

Tilda, well done Harry on his first steps!... Sienna is now running as fast as she can (she started really walking on Boxing Day) and sometimes gets a little ahead of herself and wobbles over. but she gets straight back up again!.

AFM, still living out of Mum and Dads pockets in their house and are madly spending every saturday looking at properties on the Northern Beaches (we know almost all the other buyers turning up now which is funny) so hopefully will find something soon.:pray: pleeeeeease ...it's quite stressfull being over there asll the time as you cant have a shower with the door open while the kiddies run around and many other things like that... and M&D's is so hot over there as the air con is useless... poop. but you can't falter the genorosity of letting all of us live there. Love em to pieces.
I am sure you all heard about Lulu and her passing... really really $#%^Ings sad . she was a really amazing lady and bloody funny to boot. Hope you all had some contact with her at some stage. you would have remembered her.

Alison - Hee, I like Ava too. It goes with the middle name we're having (Maria - after MIL) Ava Maria. We also like Ella for a girl. No IDEA for a boy tho. Good luck losing the kilos. I've put on 3kg since I"ve been on AD's :( Such a pain, but I'm getting off them ASAP so hopefully the weight gain will stop. AFM - Back from our trip to Dunsborough. It was nice to get away, tho we had rotten weather. It was rainy and cold, which I hadn't anticipated...we'd all packed beach and summer stuff...so off we went to stock up on winter woollies at Target! We didn't get to go to the beach, only briefly on our last day there, just to say we'd been! Michael hated it. Tho, I actually think it was more because we were holding him back, he just wanted to be let loose to play in the water. It was so nice to spend so much time with my family tho.

Sorry to hear about little Jett, that would have frightened him more than anything. My dog (also old) bit Amelia on the face remember, she was fine and at first I was keeping them separate but it was a while ago now and they are fine again, I just don't leave Amelia and the dogs in the same room, if I'm leaving the room, the dogs go out or Amelia comes with me, simple as that. You can't always blame the doggies, especially when they're old, they do get cranky and little kiddies can be frightening. Poor boy, I hope his little hand is better now. xx I'm so amazed at your strength too, I tell you, it's been 10 years since my ex and I went through that horrible breakup, he's been on the telly of late - he's a cop here and has been in court accused of assaulting someeone he pulled over for speeding, but it's caused me to dream about him again, urgh. Just when you think you're over it. Anyway, I know it's tough but it will get better, just keep going the way you are, you are doing amazingly I promise :heartbeat:
Hi Beany - oh bum the weather was bad, it was quite warm in Donnybrook, the last day was cooler and rained after we left but otherwise mum had her aircon on! We were only 30 mins from you so it must have missed inland a bit. You'll just have to go back then! We took Amelia to Hillarys at the little kiddy beach a couple of weeks ago, she loved it, pity you live so far away otherwise you should go, it's a fabulous little spot for kiddies to swim, protected and shallow. As for your weight, 3 kgs would probably go on your toes, you are so slim I wouldn't even worry!!!
Hi Kanda - your two girls are so adorable, I always think another girl would be lovely to have 2 sisters close together, will have to get some tips from you if I manage to get number 2 under way in a few months :D I did see that about Lulu although I can't remember her, so not sure if I had any dealings with her. Can't remember! So sad though isn't it, didn't she die from the same as her sister? Not that I know exactly what it was but I heard something heart related?
