Wow OP that's great. Give Heaven's wee ones loads of hugs and kisses from me.
DS still isn't giving up the day sleeps yet. He just can't quite make it through the day without a sleep - but he's sleeping a little better at night (oh I bet I just cursed myself.) Some interest in toilet training. He has his days when he gets the potty seat on the toilet, sets up his little step and will sit on the toilet, telling me to go away, then annouce he's done a poo/wee when he's been there long enough, insists he puts on undies and then will go down the other end of the house and 5-10 minutes later wees in his underpants. So I'm not really sure what to do, except maybe keep talking to him about feeling the urge to go to the toilet and wait.
I'm feeling so stressed about the whole TT issue. I have no idea how to do it, should I wait, should I just stay home for three days and nag him to death to go to the toilet? I've got no idea, and it seems like there is a thousand ways to do it, and yet if he's not understanding the urges, I'm not sure how to progress. UGH! I want to be an ostrich and stick my head in the sand.

hey girls
breathe maylna- i could hear you hyperventilating whilst you were writing about TT here lol
i promise he will be toilet trained by the time he is 21 years old lol
seriously i promise he will do it and be interested when he is ready!
you can either nag him until you are blue in the face, have wee everywhere and he will finally get it
or
gently suggest, model etc and he will catch on and do it when he has full bladder control
boof decided that xmas day was a good time to go into undies full time (great timing) and no night nappies on his birthday night (another good timing moment)
he is now an absolute legend at the toilet thing now- so we have been a nappy free house for a month now WHOOP!
You cannot tell when an adult was toilet trained from looking at them!!!!
i promise it will happen- just go with it
btw nappies are so much easier than trying to find a toilet when you are out all the time lol so savour nappies
day sleep- gone or its an after 10pm sleep down when he naps
he will happily get through a day now without needing a sleep - helps when his older siblings come home and hype him up after school lol
Boof is LOVING kinder- for a kid that has never left my side - he has been awesome. He knows that he goes to kinder and I go shopping lol. he loves it and is now getting the idea of the social ettiqutte of kinder eg. sitting on the mat, doing what the teacher says etc. Has his first 3 hour session this week - whoot 3 hours to myself - i have no idea what i am gonna do this week. Next week but i am getting my hair done YIPPEE!!
other than that all good here- but busy
my mums cottage is nearly finished- she is building a little house at the front of our house- taken 3 weeks and its lock up!!! so quick and everything build by hand on site so no pre-fab. Awesome builders etc. Plasters start the next couple of days so another 3 weeks she should be in!!!
DH working heaps with the coffee van so single mum from fridays till mondays with 3 kids - tiring
thats about it- between tennis, rollerskating, netball, rubgy, swimming, gymastics, 2 playgroups and school i am pretty boring lol
-
Det - I guess the sleep deprivation is making everything seem worse than it actually is.
Woot on the house front.
I've just read that between 2-3, kids are supposed to sleep 11hours a night - Oh how I wish that was true. DS gets about 4-5 hours of unbroken sleep then the party is on between 1 and 5am, when he wakes anything up to twice an hour.
After three years of this, I seriously cannot take another night of this. It's destroying me. Off to the chemist (if I can stay awake that long) to see if they can give me something to get him to sleep.

Happy mothers day gorgeous women!
-
Hi everyone :) have been MIA for a loooong time!
whats news?
-
Booked Miss J in for her 3.5y MHCN check. Not til August but you have to book well in advance around here!
-
I better get on to that.... Don't have to book in advance here though. I am likely to forget if I don't book it soon.
So who is delaying starting 4yo kindy next year?: Olive- I think you are, aren't you?
We have decided not to send E next year. She is really bright, and would probably be fine, but there will be kids more than a year older than her in her class. Also once you are in the school system, there is no turning back. I am happy with my decision, I only hope she is not too bored with another year at home.
-
J thinks she is going to school next year, i have no chance delaying kinder! She is ready though and although a bit younger she can hold her own so i'm not concerned.
-
Yup holding back, she's doing 2x2hour sessions of 3 yr old kinder...
Must book MCHN in as well.
I ad her assessed for SPD and she's boarderline for two...those being vestibular and tactile, all good though, she's a seeker.
Hi muffy!
-
The daycare DS goes to does kindy... I'd be happy to hold DS back another year, so he's more confident, but I haven't thought that far yet. Should think about enrolling him at a school, but struggling a little at the moment with stuff.
-
Im not too sure about kinder yet, I want to keep her back for my own selfish reasons but she talks about kinder all the time.
Im going to have a look through kinders on monday and fill out an enrollment form but I will decide at the end of the year whether she actually goes or not.
-
Hi everyone! We've decided to try the Montessori school here ...so Miss A will do 3 morning sessions a week ... She is asking to go as her God mother is the Principal but I'm still terrified!!!
-
hey girls
still here !!
Ellie - i love montessori education - i used to work in a montessori school pre kids!!
She and you will love it
Boof doing 3 year old kinder at the moment. Got him down for 4 year old but see how the year pans out. Its 8 months till they start 4 year old and so much growing still to do.
a big hi to everyone!!!

I wish we could go to our Montessori kindy. The timetable just doesn't work for us. Would have loved to have sent kids to the school, but it isv$2,000 per child per term!
-
Wow that is exxy!
Our kinder is within the cc centre but in a separate area. It is a great setup. Miss j is already familiar with it as she is at cc 3 full days and can't wait to go. The teachers have said she is ready to go so I will send her. If she isn't ready for school I will do another year there but I can't imagine she won't be.
-
We're planning to do 4yr old kindy next year, if we get a place. At the moment she's doing a 3 year group thru community centre type place and loving it. I figure if she's not ready for school she can just do extra year kinder. I don't think she'd cope another year at home as every day she asks if she can go to kiner.
Realised I still haven't got E chicken pox vac, going on thurs and now shes at a knowing age she sure is not going to be impressed!
-
Can you just hold off the pox vax and get them all done together with the 4 yo vax's?
