sorry gotta go
Oh New Dawn, I'm sorry you are having a bad time right now. Things WILL get better with time. Is there anybody IRL you can at least talk to, if not ask for actual, physical help? Being a new mum is hard at the best of times but with the other kids and on your own... Please talk to somebody and get some help.
Us: Went to the clinic this morning. Josh is indeed 5.5kgs. Over 2kgs gained in the six weeks since birth. Naughty boy - he was supposed to stay little forever!!!!
Hi everyone,
I'm a new member and just saw this baby group :) Our son Jack was born on the 14th Jan. he is our first baby and some other mothers with babies the same age would be great to talk to and ask for advice from.
It will be lovely to get to know you all.
new dawn i agree hun hope ur ok :hug:
congrats on the arrival of baby jack and a big welcome!!! :hello:
AFU: DH and i had a whooping cough jabs last night, my poor am is killing me!!!

i just herd her sucking on her hand in her room as she sleeps so i snuck in to look at her and she was sucking her thumb! :jawdrop::jawdrop: i knew she has been sucking her fist lately but it seems it was her thumb!!!
what do i do???? i dont want her to suck her thumb, she has a dummy for that!!! :wall:
heheh crumpet, glad summah is giving you some grief, she has been far too go for you so far! Keep sucking that thumb... (none of mine have done it so no idea how to help, i guess its cause i wrap forever so they are over it by the time they find their hand:rofl:)
:welcome:JJ&U!
Disgirl: Good boy Josh & DS2! And it was only 1/2acre you missed the . infront of the 5....no way could i have done 5!
Newdawn: Life suxs, it truely does! It broke my heart when i read your last sentence about not planing on doingthis on your own, thats exactly how i would feel! 4 kids on your own must be so hard! I am so sorry your XH is such a d!ck!
AFM: Going camping tomorrow, yes i know nuts but what more do you expect from me...what can go wrong, camping with 4 kids one being an 8week old??????
:happydance: Congratulations re AF crumpet:leap: Feels like old times sharing all that gory information!
Welcome J.JandU, and congrats on the birth of Jack!
Crumpet: If you wrap her then she won't be able to suck her thumb maybe?
TEgam: you crazy woman! Camping LOL that sounds fun! how long you going for? So we probably won't hear from you while your camping then?
Newdawn: how are you going?
Disgirl: wow your little man is doing well!
Hi to everyone else
AFm, meh nothing really to report. Well started bleeding again like what the? even though I hadn't even finished spotting yet! And i'm breastfeeding so what's with that!
only camping thursday-sunday! On the sunshine coast, right on the beach! Should be beautiful!
Man i have no idea whats going on with your bleeding...but you are just at the 6 week mark, well 7 tomorrow i guess....MW worried yet??
Newdawn - :( Hang in there you can do it
Crumpet - DD#1 started the thumb sucking early on, but dont worry, it seemed to be a very short phase she went through. Just keep replacing the thumb with the dummy.
Tegam - GL with the camping trip!
OMG E is feeding like nuts today, 6 week growth spurt...so tired...and must run because she is gearing up for her next one
Tegam: I emailed her again today cos it got a bit heavier she wants me to keep an eye on it in case I have an infection but I feel fine so dunno. She is hoping it stops soon.
 thanks! little monster!
 poor kids prob dont realise they have a thumb till they are 3!
have fun camping, your a complete nut job buuuuut we all love ya for it!
oh thanks, coz its such a exciting thing to have!
 soooooooo true!!!!
*sigh* man i miss those preggie chats!
ive just weaned her from the wrap, mind you she did it herself, everytime id wrap her she would get out anyway..... im just shoving the dummy in when i catch her! lol...
oh no! that sux!! could it be the return of AF?
im hoping its a short phase here too, thanks for that tip have been doing that, dont know if its working, she tried to shove her thumb in while drinking her bottle this morning:o
AFU: nothing to exciting going on..
struggling with the return of AF.... i seriously think its worse than the bleed after DD was born!
J, J & U - welcome & congrats!
Newdawn - lots of hugs to you
crumpet & em - boo to the return of AF
Tegam - yay for camping! We're going away for our anniversary on the Easter/Anzac wkend, but will probably stay in a cabin rather than a tent this time :) Have fun!
Oh happy day! Only 1 night feed last night!!! 7pm settled in bed, woke at 2am for a feed, then I had to wake him at 7am for morning feed :) He's done it once, so he can do it again (even if it's not every night) - happy mummy. The only problem was that I had to get up at 5:30 to express my left boob - it was full and hurting and leaking - obviously 12 hrs is too long for it to wait!
Friend coming over after she drops her older 4 kids at school - the younger 2 will be coming too (yes, that's 6 kids like csab!). She loves newborns, but her hubby has said NO MORE :)
Had fun at the pool yesterday - took David in just up to his waist - started off just splashing with feet and gradually moved further in but he got cold quickly once his nappy was in the water. Seemed to like it though and his cousins thought it was great that he was "swimming" with them. Then mum rocked him to sleep in the pram while I had a glorious swim myself.
Have a good day everyone :)
ok its been a while but ima try catch up while im typin with one hand so sorry if it is all over the place
sorry hun :s Hello how r you? grr about ur sil. how is miss molly?:
FO3: You didnt say hi to be
I just did lol no i dont i meant the boys have their showers lmao i too dont get one till late :(:
F03 - Say hello to Tegam will you, lol. What Shower, you get to have one before 9pm. Your lucky. As for the weight loss it was only short, as Im now 5kgs heavier than what I was when I came home from hospital. All the stress did it. lol.
thanks hun :):
F03- Dont feel bad about not breastfeeding. At least you gave it a very good shot. How you are feeling now is how I felt with DD1, I put her on the bottle at one week old as I just could not do it. So I do understand that feeling. But with time it passes. I look at DD1 now and she is perfectly healthy and happy and no one would ever know how she was fed. I think sometimes there is way too much hype and pressure put on mums to breastfeed, at the end of the day milk is milk, and to be completely honest I dont even like breastfeeding haha.
jen - yay for david in his cott thats awesome! and a moving datre too. wow 9 hrs thats fantastic!
glenny - omg mil sounds like a pita grrrr
oh wow thats scary! as to ur question i have one of my best friends in mind for godmother(take care of kids if something happens) the way i see it is it needs to be someone whom ur completly comfy with whom u would trust ur life with and r reliable too.i aslo like that the kids have grown up around them so they know them on a real personal l;evel:
thanks! we knew there wasnt a issue but they like to be anal these medics!
yeah we enjoyed date night, eventually we will get her looked after but i just cant quite do it yet.
oh with the whopping cough thing they recommend all parents and grandparents be vaccinated coz there has been a outbreak here in Vic, and then on the news the other night a 14day old baby died from it so its just motivated me to get my A into gear and book in, we are going tuesday.
go phoebe!
Summah gets cranky in the morning and then from 6 until bath, bottle and bed at 7-730 at night, she just whinges it drives me crazy!
. how is miss summah going today? i have the braurer stuff tegam told you bout it works nicely lol and smells sooo good too
em - i do hope ur getting more sleep hun
lilias - how are you doing?
dis - hi hun how r u?
new dawn - how are you going today hun? How is pk. Hope your both feeling well
jj and u - hi ya welcome
AFM - I want to run away. Life is complete S%%% right now. Im so down its not funny. Phoebe is continusly stuck to me this is our day so far...
up at 6:30am has milk
now between that time and the school run at 8:30 she did not go down at all she had lil feeds here and ther had a change ect
get back from school run...
9:19 - milk
9:27 - asleep in arms - wrapped
10:10 - awake
10:15 - screaming
10:28 - milk
10:32 - stopped milk - 20mls
10:35 - asleep in arms
10:39 - awake - milk 20mls
10:47 asleep again in arms
10:50 - put in bassanet
so as you can see im ready to go insane! and im sick and tired of trying to explain that it is normal for me not to want her in my arms all day every day that she should be able to go to sleep in her bassanet and have a good sleep not a bloody cat nap. Im trying to hold off her feed when she wakes as long as i can as sher is just snacking.I feel like DH doesnt beleive me as when i told him he tells me he asked his mum how she was when she had her. and he says i tell him this she says that what is he ment to think...UMM IM UR BLOODY WIFE!!!!! my problem is if i sit and hold her non stop she will sleep BUT soon as i put her down 10-30mins later she is up. Heck i even had my friend come over and she herself couldnt believe how much i have to hold her.
ok vent ova sorry
Hi everyone!
F03: Oh sweet you sound so frustrated! SB is the kinda the same, from 6.30am-1.00pm he's in my arms catnapping and feeding, then he has a big sleep from 1-4/5pm. I just put on a bunch of episodes and keep a bowl of food beside me, but I don't have any other kids to look after! It's hard knowing that you've only got 10 minutes to get stuff done before the next feeding/rocking session. I hope your DH supports you more xo
Em: Ack, hope the bleeding gets sorted out! Could be AF? You might be TTC #2 sooner than you thought!
Crumpet: Woohoo to AF return!
Tegam: Total insanity :P
New Dawn: Hugs hun, I'm sorry xo
Glenny: YEah it turns out parents just can't help themselves! Sorry that your MIL is being a PITA, my Mum told me she would definitely respect my choices but she couldn't help herself on co-sleeping, demand feeding and not crying it out, lol. She came round in the end. Then she left, LOL.
Isadora: Growth spurts are insane hard work! GL hun xo
Jen: Hooray for swimming, can't wait to take SB swimming - he loooooves bath time!
AFM Sammy and I are going well, we've got a routine going and things have really settled down in the last week or so. Phew! We're down to one feed a night, but he's decided that 6.30 is an awesome wake up time. Not cool. He's smiling and so cuddly. Now if we could get to 5 hours sleep that would be wonderful! Gotta go, dinner's ready.
Hi girls!
FO3 and Kit, Josh is a lot like SB and Phoebe. I have him in my arms ALL morning. It sucks because that's the only time without DS1 as I have to pick him up at midday. Still, he sleeps most of the afternoon and only gets up once throughout the night so I am STILL way better off than I was with DS2.
Gotta go
thanks! it sux big time!
oohh glad u had fun swimming with D, we are going to take summah soon!
good points re who to leave the kids to hun...
she is a lot better thanks, only a bit stuffy in the morning now.
wow i dont blame you i would want to run away too!
thanks hun!
 for more routine going on!!! and how awsome is only one night feed!!!
AFU: all going along nicely here....
last night i decided to cut summahs dreamfeed and see how she went.
she was only taking 50ml if we were lucky so it seemed like a waste of time.
so i stretched her late arvo feed out to 5pm and then gave her a bed time bottle like usual but at 8 not 7 and she went to bed at 830, asleep 915 and she is still asleep now!
so ill keep this up over the next few days and see how it works...
FO3 I know how you feel, I cant put PK down when he is sleeping, thank god he is ok at night, but as we co-sleep I think its only because I am in bed too... In the day if I want him to have a good sleep then it has to be in my arms as if I put him down even in the rocker he will wake up within minutes... and then will only last a few minutes until he starts grizzling and wants to be held again...
Thank you all I am doing fine, i just get a little why me every now and then, i mean we TTc for 16mth for PK I thought we were in this together, I had not ever thought I would have to do this all on my own... But this is my life and I am getting on with it, life is pretty good, I love PK so much, and I am enjoying every moment with him while I can, as I will have to look into doing a course soon so I can find work, as the spp just doesnt cut it :)
PK gave me 7 hrs last night... I feel almost human again... I felt so good I have been scrubing the house, the winkies rooms actully look like bedrooms again, I set up PK's cot in DS's room, ( not that he will be using it for a while yet, I am not ready to kick him out of my bed yet :) ) I even mowed the lawn, feels nice to have a clean house again, It bloody better stay this way!
I even got to go out without ANY winkies last night, my darling big brother was nice enough to offer to look after them ALL so I could go cluck over my sisters new baby boy... it was a bit weird not to have him ( I think this was why PK slepted so well last night because he was awake from 6 until 9.30 ) My brother even cleaned up the back deck... what a sweetheart...
crumpet what a little super star you have there, well done to summah...
Tegam, I hope you are having a great time camping, it would be great to get away, I dont think your crazy camping would be less stressful than sitting inside with bored kidlets :) I have moved interstate with a 6week old once and moved interstate another time with a 2 week old and a 3 year old, that was a bit crazy lol
sorry I know I have missed alot, thinking of you all
Hello girls!
Thanks for all the empathy over MIL situation. They are off back to Scotland tomorrow and I kinda have mixed emotions. They've bugged me no end but they are good people and I get sad that they won't see their grandaughter more often.
We had Katherine's naming ceremony today and it was beautiful! Mum brought over my old christening dress and she wore that for the ceremony and then changed into a dress from Scotland for the rest of the morning. She was good as gold, didn't cry during the ceremony at all and only grizzled a bit later. Big day for her though, she went down to bed at 1 after everyone had left, was due a feed at 2 but has missed it and is still sleeping! Must have needed it poor little dab!
We're still struggling a little with the reflux. She has a lot of trouble with her throat and mouth as she developed thrush from all the acid and her throat is red raw, we have a friend who is a GP and she looked her over today and says she seems to be on the mend but the throat will take a fair while to completely heal so not to panic if she's still grizzly, doesn't mean that the zantec isn't working. I feel so bad when she cries, it's hard to look at such a small baby and know she's in pain and you can't help.
Em- I'm still bleeding on and off, my doc's got me on the pill to try and stop it but it comes and goes. He's checked me out through and there's no infection so he thinks it just may be another fun thing my body does. He said it could be related to my PCOS, hopefully it will stop soon.
Crumpet- Happy to hear DH has come around on the idea of number 2. We've decided that as soon as the pill has controlled the bleeding I'll come off it and we'll start trying, we'll try 6 months naturally before going back to the FS. It would be awesome if we could fall naturally!
FO3_ Hang in there babe, Katherine was like that, I'd be stuck on the couch for hours, turns out it was her reflux- it hurt her when she lay flat so she would only settle when she was upright.
Kit- One feed is awesome! We've had a couple of nights with one feed, mostly we have two but her second is at 5 and then she thinks the day should start!!
Jen- Katherine loves the pool, she's been in ours a few times and she likes to bounce on my lap and splash the water. She starts lessons next week ( I know- 11 weeks!!- really just a social thing for Mummy!)
Hello to everyone else, hope you are all doing well, would do persies for everyone but bub has just woken
xxx to all
