Babies Born ~ January 2013 #1
Uh oh! I always counted the WW according to age not EDD. 5 week WW went ok here, now waiting for 8 week one while we are on holiday :/
The HAB are warm I've just starting using it and a Close Carrier the last couple of weeks once the heat wave calmed down but DS is too heavy now at 6.2kg. Just bought a Manduca but DD wants in it every time I bring it out lol. HABs are lovely for squishies though. Perhaps a small mei tai would be cooler?

I just realised I was mistaken about the WW, you're right Chody. DD was 17 days late no wonder she was so advanced for her age :) but that said EDD are just a guide for us as everyone of both sides of DD family were almost 2 weeks overdue. We brew longer lol.
I think you'll know when a WW is happening.

Hi all, sounds like everyone is travelling well at the moment. Seems we have similar babies Dusty and Saffy- we get okay night sleeps but day settling is a bit of a pain and I've found it way too hot to wear the HAB or sleepy wrap. I'm also finding it really difficult to work out when he is ready to go back to bed so I think I probably have an overtired baby on my hands quite often.
Saffy, what swaddle bag do use? I am really struggling with wrapping my big baby and when I put him down awake he fights it until his hands can get to his face.
Chody it must be hard to get your little one to feed well if you have to wake her for feeds? I totally agree that it feels wrong to wake a sleeping baby- hope she gets to the goal weight soon for you.
Keta, I always find when I have a rough night my plans for day sleeps seem to disappear with an unsettled bub or lively 2 yr old! When I do get one I'm pretty sure I slip into a near comatose state!! Good to hear you are getting lots naps.
Bee, how did Katie go with her weigh in?
DS has just got his first head cold too. Lots of booby time for him (my answer to everything!)
Hope everyone else is going well and enjoying these first weeks the best you can.

Amy I hope your getting some sleeps out of DD - that sounds full on. Have you tried putting her in a carrier in the daytime? DS is having at least one sleep a day in a sling, normally the arsenic hour 4-5 nap.
Saffy DD is very advanced smiling and giggling :)
Chody I can imagine waking a sleeping baby is hard.
Our daily rhythm goes something like
Wake 6-7ish, feed and back to bed within an hour for either 40min-1.5 hours. Wake feed play 1 hours back to bed then repeat 2-3 times before bath and bed. He is waking 2-4 hourly overnight and double swaddling really is helping, I found a technique on YouTube at 1am when I was desperate a couple of weeks ago. He still doesn't like swaddling much in the day but he seems to now realise it means sleep time. we've been having lots more cuddles going to sleep in my arms during the day as he is finding the world a little overwhelming :)

Wow Chody great news!
Huh I jinxed things by outlining our routine. Little monkey wouldn't go to sleep for 4 hours after waking. Finally I had to go out and the car tipped him over for 2.5 hours nap :)

Lol Saffy glad you were jinxed in a good way. May it be the start of lots of longer sleeps :)
We are about to embark on a 2 day car trip with 2 kids! Got the iPad loaded and snacks packed!
DS weighed in at a hefty 6.6kg and is now above the chart. He's a lump to cart around, wish he was more enamoured with my multiple carriers....
