Yep. And my pumping schedule doesn't line up with her feeds so it is even more work.
How long did you have to schedule feed H? We can't go more than 3.5 hours.

Hi Girls,
We survived our first night home, in fact it went a bit easier than I expected which means tonight might be my reality check. My poor boobs are bleeding but powering on with feeding which is rather painful but I got some Multi-Mums which are really helping them heal, poor Annika though is chucking up the blood that she is sucking, but she is getting much more milk so we just need to work through it. Ash - I was reading your thread about bleeding nipples and have gained a few ideas. My milk came in yesterday and they (boobs) are massive!! I forgot how engorged they are at first!! :o I think I need to rethink attachment as Bailz went on easy, but Anni always puts her hands in front of her face, makes it hard to get her on properly. Our Baby Photographer is coming Tues, and she is a great bf advocate (was thinking about becoming an ABA counsellor) so might ask her for some help I think. I have a bit of soreness downstairs but feeling good overall. Had the tears yesterday afternoon - I was sitting on the couch with Anni and just burst into tears, poor DH was asking me what was wrong and we just joked about that it was the textbook Day 3 tears, I took Anni and I off to bed for a sleep and woke feeling much calmer and happy. I was wondering when she would next poop as hadn't for 24 hrs, but then my milk obviously started to fill her up and we have poop. I forgot how much washing a newborn causes too, Bailz never chucked, Anni, well she'd win an olympic medal - although I think once I get the nipple bleeding sorted that will help.
Sorry for the quick post, I will try to do some persies later, finding 2 kids BUSY!! I dont know how those of you with more do it hehehehehe
Nay

Naomi - owwwwwwwie I feel for you, bleeding nips are no fun. I hope it heals quickly.
DD2 isn't quite so windy now we've worked out what works best to get her gas out (bicycle legs) and changed her teat to a slower flow.
Hospital is really boring. Home in less than 24 hours! Wahoooooo :D
Naomi I feel your pain quite literally. We end up doing finger feeds for the last week with ebm as the pain from the cracks and bleeding was too much. We have problems with little hands trying to help with latching and the fact that no mw can agree on whether or not the girls are tongue tied may be further compounding the problem. I am slowly trying to get them back onto the boob part time and we are getting their tongues checked once and for all on Thursday. Could even be that they have little mouths and I have big boobs, I dunno but if their tongues are good, an lc will be next. I said Eliza was going to be Annika originally? Great choice!!!
Maruschke - yay for going home!!!!!!

MelissaI - my baby must be about the same size as yours (5lb11oz) and she can't open her mouth wide enough for a decent attachment either. Maybe it is a small baby thing?
I am wondering cos it bloody hurts! I am trying so hard to get the latch right but it's still only relatively pain free about 20% of the time. Have you been given any pointers on bf a small baby in scn?

Just popping in. So tired. DD2 had a feeding marathon last night and DD1 is really sick so it's been a long day.
Maruschke, that's such awesome news hun.
PRMG - hope DD1 is better soon x x

Still around ladies, just utterly exhausted from a child who is pretty much awake between midnight and 4am every night and a very active toddler during the day. DS1 is at childcare tomorrow so will hopefully have a chance to catch up properly.
Melissa - nope, unfortunately. Though I'm hoping to see a proper LC on Thursday and I will ask then.
PRMG - oh no! Those nights are so hard. I hope you get some rest today.
AFM - we are going home TODAY. Yeeeehhhhaaaaa!
Oh no - I feel for you both Nay and Mel - I had no problems with attaching DD1 but it's been much tougher with DD2. Bleeding nipples are just so painful :(
Things with feeding are still on the improve here but still not perfect - every time I get one sides attachment right and it starts healing she stops going on the opposite side properly again. It's hard when you know one bad attachment can cause so much damage!
I was planning on getting some order around this house again today but now that I'm home and DD2 is asleep, I am so tempted to climb back into bed lol - I can't believe that DD2 will already be 3 weeks old this week!!

Quick question - what do you do with a baby that will not sleep? She isn't dirty, hungry, we keep her upright after feeding cos I think she gets a sore tummy, no amount of cuddling seems to help and it we put her down, she just cries and cries and cries. She has been up for three hours now and just won't settle. She keeps acting hungry but won't take anything and I do not know what to do.
Could she have reflux? Is she swaddled? Is she a sucker that can benefit from a dummy? Those nights are so hard, I don't envy you Melissa .
We actually talked to our midwife about reflux today because she is VERY spewy hence the keeping upright after feeding. We have propped up her basinette today and got some infant gaviscon so will see if it makes a difference tonight. We tried giving her a dummy but she kept spitting it out and we do swaddle. She has finally flaked out on me with 45 mins to go before her next feed. Poor little button, I just wish she could tell me what she needs/wants.
Is she over tired? I'm guessing with twins you have to be on somewhat of a schedule, but maybe let her sleep a bit more than 45 mins?
She must've totally knackered herself as once we finally got her to sleep, the next few feeds and settling were a piece of cake. Maybe that is going to be her evil time of day so am thinking i might have to start putting the wrap to good use and carry her so I can get stuff done.
How are things going now you are home, Maruschke?
