lissy - It might be a good idea to invest in some sleeping bags (grobags are great). DS used them until he was about 2 and we use them with Milly. Grobags have thin ones you can use in Summer (1tog or .5tog). Then you never have to worry about them wriggling out of their blankets.
Milly has a bald patch at the back of her head too. If a person sees it that doesn't have children, they usually ask why. DH keeps joking that we'll need to get her a toupet. Good thing it's almost winter, she will need to wear a hat everyday then.
Yay for Mitch in his cot!! Milly sleeps in her cot during the day sometimes, I should put her down there more often. Problem is, the cot in in DS's room, so I can't put her in there when he is home. We are building at the moment. I really can't wait until the kids have their own rooms.
As for tantrums. I haven't noticed. I'm sure that's yet to come.
We took the kids to a theme park on the weekend. Had so much fun. I was a bit nervous as Amelie sometimes hates her pram but she was so content all day. It was wonderful. Even took her on a children's boat ride which tells a story; she was so facinated with the colours and movement of the displays. As soon as the ride was done and we put her into her pram she fell into a deep sleep. So it must have been really relaxing for her :D
Lissy - william was the same with rubbing head on top of bassinet lol, and i thought he would also take to the cot the same way. but low and behold he took to it well and sleeps very well in his own room. william also pushes himself up the cot and sideways so i have been putting him in sleeping bags so at least he has some covers on overnight.
sorry to hear about the long wait for paediatrician, hopefully you get in soon so you can get mitchells reflux sorted. and congrats on having your house back, would have been a very busy household. but good to get all those hand-me-downs, will definately save you some money.

I have been really busyand we have all been sick so have popped in to read here sometimes but haven't posted. Sorry to have left you bored, Lissy! :p
Alice had her 4 month needles yesterday. She cried a little bit but was fine after about 30 seconds. It took ages to get the oral dose into her cause she kept grinning at the nurse.:lol: No problems so far, so hopefully we will get away complication free again this time. She weighed in at 7kg and 64cm long... a fairly sizable lass. :)
She hasn't had a good couple of weeks though. Everyone in the house has been sick with a virus, and it has shown up differently in each of us. Edward had croup and I had larangitis. Byron just got a cough and snotty nose. DH had sinisitis. Poor little Alice got a snuffly nose, a cough and viral conjunctivitis. Just when she seemed to be getting over it she got sicker again so back to the dr to find out she had a nasty pussy ear infection and has had antibiotics. Fixed her up pretty quickly but she still has the remnants of a cough. Her needles were fine as she hasn't had a fever at all.
Alice has rolled once from her back to her front. She doesn't really look like she is at all interested in rolling during tummy time. At least I know better than to worry about it at this point. She has been in the Jolly Jumper a few times and has started jumping quite high now and giggles and smiles while she is on it. I love the Jumper, all three of my kids have had such a good time in it.
I moved Alice into her cot on the weekend and she seems happy with it. Sleeping still isn't great though. I am up twice every night, but she goes straight back to sleepwith a feed so at least I am only up for 10 to 15 minutes each time.
Started solids last night and she absolutely scoughed it down. Just some rice cereal, but I think we will start adding some other flavours fairly soon.
Lissy, I second the sleeping bags for Mitchell to sleep in. I found cheaper ones than gro suits, but they are so much better than trying to keep them under blankets. Byron is 4 and has really only just started keeping his blankets on/ putting them back on himself. I don't know why the dr would have laughed at the suggestion of teeth... Edward had one at 4 months and was most definitely teething a couple of weeks before that. I know a number of bubs who have gotten teeth that early. Very rude indeed! I hope you get into the paed soon!
Kaydee, sounds like a nice day at the theme park. I think we often imagine these things will be more difficult than they really are. Not surprising you got a sleeping bub with all the stimulation around her.
BSK, sounds like things are going really well with William. I am not jealous of the breath holding though, I haven't had that to deal with that but did have tantrums from the boys faily early. Tantrums are about being frustrated so it isn't surprising that they cry and writhe around. It definitely isn't an indication of what they will be like as a toddler. ;)
berrme - glad the immunisations went well. and gl they pass symptom free. sorry to hear that everyones been sick, but glad they are starting to feel better, nothing worse than poor sick kids.
congrats on the rolling, as long as she is progressing thats all that matters, not what books say. william still has nights where he wakes up for 1-2feeds, but hes the same eats then goes straight back down.
Im thinking of starting william on solids soon, coz he seems so interested when im eating, there is so much conflicting information out there though. glad that alice has taken so well to it though.
im using bright bots sleeping bags not rated ones, they only cost $12 as opposed to over $50.

had williams 4month checkup. He is 68cm tall and weighs 7.51kg, my big boy. He also wee'd on the midwife which was a bit funny. he was blowing a raspberry and she leaned in to comment on it and he wee'd on her, which she didnt realise til she stood up wondering what the warm sensation was. He had his immunisations yesterday, which led him to be a bit cranky. Kept crying on and off and difficult to settle. Did not want to sleep in his bed, would only go for 20min stints. So last night gave him some panadol and then brought him into bed with us. He was awake at 10.30pm, 2.30am and then not again until 7am. Poor little guy, but he seems to be a bit better now.
Well good news finally Mitchell has a pediatritions appointment tomorrow!! I still hadn't heard anything so rang today to find out what the heck was going on, 2 months now, & low & behold they'd just had a cancellation for Wednesday afternoon. Otherwise they had him booked in for DECEMBER:wall: OMG I would've throttled him by then with lack of sleep n all. So it means we'll be home late tomorrow night but I'll take a night of pain over 2 more months for sure. But OMG a $300 appointment apparently:o:o:o
Mitch has rolled from his back to front once & hasn't done it again. Rolls onto his side all the time though. I got a sleeping bag for him at night & it seems to be pretty good, he does a full 180deg in his cot with it on still though lol. It's really funny, he's started playing with his feet & will lie in his cot for quite a while in the morning & grunt & coo while he grabs onto them.
He's just hit 7kg this week & gotten chubby all of a sudden :p
Hmm I took some mummy time yesterday afternoon & got a mobile hairdresser to come to my home. Went from halfway down my back up to my chin now & I feel great! Was great just to do something for me & it drastically needed doing lol.
How are you guys down south getting on with this wild weather? we've had a few doozy storms up here but nothing like that hail.
Hope everyones going ok with their immunisations? We've got ours next wednesday.

william is the same in his sleeping bag rolling all the way around, had a leg hanging out the other day even in his sleeping bag lol.
i hear you re haircut i got mine done a couple of weeks, definately needed it after pregnancy made in all fall out and split. much better. was same halfway down back, not cut to shoulder length. glad you made time for yourself.
weather has been nice this week, but yeh was odd to have a few days of hail the other week in the midst of spring. but its victoria, they say you can get all season in one day here. there were some pretty full on thunder storms too, thought the roof was going to get ripped off, and considered bringing william into bed with us if it didnt calm down.
