dory - I could have written your comment to little _o almost word for word. The newborn stge with DDs 1 and 2 was purely something to survive with no enjoyment at all, and I never understood the women who said they loved the newborn stage. Even with around the clock feeding and unsettled patches DD3 is just so much easier to look after and I'm really enjoying this stage with her.
Good luck with the school runs. I'm enjoying my second day of school holidays here and its bliss not having to get everyone up and out the door early.

Wow sounds like everyone is flat out, I am enjoying the first wind free time from X for about a week. We have been having a lovely day. I think he must be going through his first wonder week as I am noticing he is much more interactive and feeding alot.
I admire you ladies with more than 1 child, I can see it would be hard, especially in these early weeks. Sending you all strength to get through the days.

question re bleeding.....
My blood lose started turning pink, then brown and then for a few hours i got nothing about 3 days ago, then i fed Alana and (as i expected) i started bleeding again - bright red. this lasted almost 2 days and then tampered off again, with a few hours of nothing, now ive got it back again, bright red - not heavy but like a light/med period.......its heavier though after a feed or around feed time.....
Do i need to be concerened? i dont remember this after the last 2, once they stopped they stayed stopped.
I did google and it said it could come back if im doing to much and if it starts getting heavier and red its a sign to slow down? is this the case? ive pretty much gone back into my normal mother/slave routine the last week, should i be slowing down and taking it easier (i.e put my pride aside and ask for help)??? im friends with my midwife (she cousin of DH) but i dont have my next app with her til friday and dont want to bug her unless i need to. I suffered 1st degree tear but no stitches......
it may sound weird but there is a slight "smell" but as its been soooooo long since i last had a period or a baby, im not sure if thats normal.
I shower every day and change my pads often......
-
Mine has done exactly the same thing and only seems to have stopped in the last 2 days and I had X almost 5 weeks ago. I was told by the middie that it could do that for anywhere up to 6 weeks. As far as smell though not sure, I didn't notice anything for me, hope that helps a bit
-
Naomi - sounds like me too.. and I had L 4 weeks ago. I think when BFing your uterus is still cramping so that's when I see I can have some bleeding, but mine is really light now.
Also Naomi, I noticed you have a Lachlan, born 23/6... I too have a Lachlan born 23/6 (but different year!)... Cool huh?
-
Naomi....the odour worries me. I'd call your middie friend. You are not bugging her. Your health is important.
-
Thanks ladies - greatly appreciate the replies xo
I will send my midwife a quick message and see what she says.....its not a strong odour but i can smell it most times when i go to the toilet, but i also noticed not that long ago, my slippers smell so it could be that im smelling (they are now in the wash lol)......
Blackrose - i noticed that before aswell, although i didnt know his name was Lachlan aswell, thats awesomely freaky LMAO
-
I had the blood come and go (finally gone last week) but it was always "back" when I hadn't slept enough or did too much.
Also I noticed a strange smell for a couple of days, turned out it was my liners that I had left from before getting pregnant. Obviously the liners have a use by date... Not sure if that could be something in your case...
Miss Muffet has been sleeping a lot today...bad news for tonight I think...
So if anyone is up all night let's meet here lol!
-
Hope your not up all night little o
-
Same here little o - hope you get some sleep.
Naomi - it sounds about the same as here. Things will be tapering off then I'll feed and bam we're back. Can't wait for that part to be done. I'll just feel better I think. More "normal". But yeah speak to your middy as well. Like Dory said that is what they're for and if she wasn't a friend/family member you probably wouldn't worry so much about "bothering" her. Cept it isn't bothering!!
Oh bugger now ive forgotten others posts. I had it all worked out in my head and was set. Sorry to those I've forgotten :)
Well DD is a hungry hungry hippo. I think she might be having a growth spurt or something. She normally feeds on one side only between 10 and 20 minutes. She's been going 20-30 on one side then another 15minutes on the other every three hours with a couple of times only 2 hours in between feeds. Having a few issues with attachment but I'll post that separately as I'll copy and paste my description of the problem from the FB group :)
Is anyone else getting night sweats? I wake up almost every night drenched. It's disgusting. A friend said it happened to her as well for the first week or so but it's been 3 weeks!! If I strip down I get cold. It's not like it's warm it's just me. I'm washing my pjs every day because I wake up smelling like a man ha ha. Ewwww. Please someone tell me it goes away soon.

Little_o - you may find that DD is going through a growth spurt and sleeps more anyway so her night time sleeps shouldn't be affected too much (I hope!!)
Naomi - my slippers are stinky too.. Hehehehe
I nursed 10:30, 3am and now 6am. A good night for us! :happydance:

Morning Dantri! Yeah I got sweaty a couple of times. It's just your hormones sorting themselves out. You know how during menopause women get hot flushes? Well kinda like that. It will settle down
If it doesn't it could be related to a fever and the beginnings of mastitis but you feel generally crappy all over with mastitis so you'll know it's different
-
Thanks BR. Yeah i figured that too. Freaked out at first when I woke up in a pool of sweat with lumpy painful hard boobs and a yukky feeling and was frantically taking my temperature and googling mastitis but it was just engorgement, sweats and lack of sleep I reckon lol.

Yep, the bleeding, leaky knobbly boobs, swollen feet, bags under the eyes all scream yummy mummy!! Hehe

We are hot mammas LOL and yet through all this our DH's/DP's seem to stick around, not sure about you all but after each bubba DH cant keep his hands off me, he keeps asking if we "can" yet, im like i may not be broken like i was with the boys but you aint going down there until its stopped and i can wash down there without the feeling of being achy or sore, he been lucky and got other action but im not fussed as ive not been feeling like dtd anyway......he'll just owe me big time when im ready LMAO
I noticed there is no smell anymore so must of been my slippers/feet i could smell - embarrased LMAO
Bad night number 2 here (last night the worse) - glad its over and praying she sorts out her day night routine fast, not sure if i can function normally much longer if she keeps it up, just hope its a growth spurt and not a routine she has in play lol
Little_O - hope you got sleep and your DD didnt play up to much lol
Dantri - i had the "sweats" last night - was horrible, like you if i strip down im freakin cold as....no win situation, guess we all just have to "ride" it out and hopefully it stops soon xo I too am looking forward to feeling "normal", its the only issue i really have.
oh here we go again.....Alana is stirring in her bed, please stay asleep, i love ya but i need the break especially after last night......
sorry if i missed anyone, hope you all have a great day and bubs all round dont play up and allow us to get some rest!!
-
oh and i forgot to add, that i wouldve been officially due with Alana today, but instead she turned 2 wks old today!!! time flies when your sleep deprived LOL
