lou: DH is being a bit of a tool again. I organised for my SIL to take Chase for two hours tomorrow night so that we could have some alone time. Tells me its his 'friends' birthday whom I'm sure he hasn't seen or spoken to in months (unless over call of duty) and that he wanted to go out on Saturday night. You'd think the stupid bugger would learn but apparently he is a moron. So I say, ok thats fine go to your friends house. I thought it wasn't costing me any money and we were going to spend time together that night anyway. Then the kicker, they are going out clubbing and he needs money. WTF. Him losing his job pretty much ate up our savings so here I am trying to get us back on track. I manage to save $200 last week and now he wants to take $100 to take clubbing. If I had a spare $100 I'd get chase or me or both of us some clothes or a elmo toy that I want to get chase, at least if I had $100 Id have something to show for it. But at the end of the day H is going to come home with nothing to show for $100 except a hangover then proceede to most likely sleep off his hangover all father's day. Making himself wake up for lunch at his mothers where he will pretend to be the perfect father then make us go home early because he wants to sleep off his hangover. I know this will happen because its happened before, many many times. I don't know why he 'has' to go clubbing. Why cant he just say happy birthday dude but I can't afford to go clubbing cos i have a wife and baby im supposed to be supporting?? gah I should have put this in the vent section....
on the Chase side, my boy is beautiful although the growing of his two teeth has messed with my ability to put him to sleep without holding him. The musical seahorse is no longer useful :( He was so happy to see me when I picked him up after work. And then he cried whenever I left his sight. Sigh, at least someone around here loves me :) Chase used to click when I picked him up sometimes and I kept thinking I'd broken him but he still works :)
sammie: i totally agree Sarah and Mel are champions for having 4 kids. I looked after my friends 19month old and Chase on tuesday and by the end of the day I was so exhausted. I can't imagine doing that every day with more than two. Not to say Sammie that you and Rhi and Lou and Kate aren't hard workers because damn 2 kids is a mission as well. (I hope i didnt leave a 2x mummy out...I feel like a I did...hmm...)
jaki: lol mr wyatt :) i think i want to try giving Chase foods of his own to hold too just so he has both. Is it just steamed vegetables that you start off giving them, like really soft vegetables??
-
They don't have to be soft. Just steamed normal. Can give them anything you fancy. No rules :)
As for your DH. Be direct. Tell him he can't go. It really is as simple as that. Men are stupid. The worst thing to do is to say go, knowing that you will end up with the poos. Because then when you do have the poops with him, he will wonder why and be able to say, well you told me I could go so why are you angry?
Who is this friend anyway? If you don't know him and didn't know about it in advance he can't be that important??? For petes sake your a family! They only birthdays a grown man with a baby needs to attend are important friends hitting significant ages, which you'd know about. And family members!!!
Yeah, everyone needs a night out once and a while but he is just taking advantage of you. Would you like a night out?

-
Im here but pretty much only at night, during the day im busy doing sweet F all but for some reason I never have a spare moment to myself. What is up with that?
Went to story time at the Hyperdome LIbrary, its on at 10am for wee little babies and they sing songs and read stories etc. Its so fun. Chase is like in love with the lady who runs it, ive never spoken to her and neither has he but the minute he sees her he is hooked. He cried at me today cos he wanted to stand up and was trying to walk over to her!! She's like a baby magnet. Felt a bit down though which is silly but i can't help it. There was this baby girl who was on her belly then got up on her hands and knees and started bouncing and I was like, 'how old is she?' thinking she must be older than chase, she was seven months too :( Chase has no interest in doing what that little girl was doing. Also this little girl could clap her hands!! wtf, chase only eats his :( I know he is supposed to do all these things later but i can't help feeling down that he doesnt do this or that. Ugh i know its silly and i know he is supposed to progress slower, I need a good kick up the butt i think...
-
I stop in occasionally... not very often though :(
-
Back to work today :( wish me luck I'm going to need it
-
Hi guys,
I am around, but as DSS is living with us now my access to the computer is limited and also im HEAPS busier!
Kylz - good luck today, it is hard going back to work, but you will slot back into it quicker than you think amd sadly before long it will feel like you never left (apart from the fact that you have a beautiful little man in your life now)
Kitty - honestly hun, all babies develop at such a different rate... but Chase, although he has been on the outside for 7 months, he has an adjusted age too... bet that little girl was full term - have a look at what the babies are doing at the age he would have been if he was full term... anything more than is a bonus, not expected
JJ - everything ok?
Sarah - found a house?
Tams - sorry to hear that things have not been going well for you and your family
Iona - Congratulations Hun :leap:
Jaki - i have been meaning to write about Miss A and her poor feeding during the day. I dont know if it is similar to W, but thought i would share.
at least 3 times a day we fight to feed, she arches her back, crys/shouts and is generally miserable... i KNOW that she is hungry, but she wont have a feed. I have figured out that unless i catch her at the EXACT time she is hungry or before this will happen, if i leave it too long it is a nightmare and it can go one for at least an hour until she is really really hungry and tired, then she will accept a feed but will fall asleep during it, not sleep properly as she is still hungry and the cycle begins... i had a day like that yesterday!
I can sometimes distract her to get her to feed (i can only do this at home though) where i offer a feed, she refuses and arches and so i blow raspberries on her tummy or neck and sort of bring her away and the close to the boob, sometimes i repeat this several times and when she comes back, as my boob is still hanging out, she will latch on as she has forgotten she is cross at me... i dont know if that makes sense, its hard to explain!
Miss A has decided this last week that 5am is her new wake up time, she has a feed and then wants to play, after a few days of trying to get her back to sleep i have decided th=o just go with it, so i have been up since 5, she has just gone back to sleep. Problem is, there isnt much i can do as there are people asleep in both ends of the house now... we need to replace DSS bedroom door with a solid one so that it is a bit more sound proof. I am not really a TV watcher so i cant do much... got DH to bring home the work Laptop last night, so at least i have been able to do a bit on here!
She is still not rolling and showing little interest in it.
Started BLS on the weekend - she LOVES it, so far we have had broccoli, cauliflower, carrot and toast (plain). I am not introducing fruit for a little while yet.
Very little actual consumption going on, but she is grabbing the food from her high chair tray and getting it straight in her mouth and sucking it all... I love the faces they pull when they are trying new flaovours and textures!
Hi everyone else :hello:
-
Just a quick one from me as I need to go and finish packing - early flight in morn
Thanks ladies, I had an awesome day and would not change anything. I had soo much fun, so many pics of me laughing
Kylz - I hope today went ok
will get on while away on our "familymoon"
-
OMG kitty you are a much more patient wife than me, i would have lost my sh*t ages ago at him!! if chase will take ebm just TELL g you're off for a night out and he is on baby duty! then make sure you sleep in lol.....shouldnt really take that though, heres hoping he agrees to councelling or opens his eyes soon. do his mates have kids? you'd think one of them would have said something to him by now....re chase's development, dont forget he is really only a 5 and a half month old developmentally. and some prem babies take even longer to catch up than what their adjusted age is. it just seems like he's been around forever lol.
kylz, hope today went ok. what days do you do now?
Iona, saw some piccies you were gorgeous! looks like it was a great day :) have a great time on your familymoon
SJ how are you going being a stepmummy? must be a huge change!!
AFM&C (as for me and chloe lol) she is really not into solids. loves having a play, but not really eating much. loves throwing things on the floor off the highchair tray though lol. does anyone know if yogurt is ok to try once she is 6mths? so far she has had carrot,broc,cauli,avocado,bread,apple.....she is so little in the highchair though, she cant reach stuff on the whole of the tray and keeps pushing stuff out of the way by accident. plus its ella's highchair, and she is getting the grumps someone else is using her highchair and shes in the booster seat. tried to play the 'youre a big girl in the big girl chair' card, but she doens't care lol. going to ikea to get chloe a highchair from there....is anyone elses bubs sitting up unaided? chloe HATES sitting, and just tries to stand or throws herself backwards,im not too fussed, but people keep asking me if shes sitting and look surprised when i say no
-
Thanks sammie <3
Well our BLS took a turn, yesterday I gave wyatt some banana custard (baby) as a treat and now he screams until I feed him! Ugh. So today I steamed and magic bulleted
a pear for him. He still had bread, but only after I spoon fed him pears.
He is such a scally wag!
-
hehe jak thats why i dont want to try chloe on puree cos i know she will want it every feed!! plus i am super lazy.
-
Lou I work tues And wed but j goes to care on thurs too so I get me time
-
My friend just posted a YouTube vid of her bubba saying mum - she's 14 weeks old!! It was properly too, like she would say mama then bub would copy. Waaah I want Chloe to say something. Is anyone here's bub immitating words? I've never heard of a bub saying mum so young!
-
lou: chase does num num and then opens and closes his mouth like he is a blow fish, i think he is trying to say mama when he does that cos he presses his lips together too. Or maybe I just want to believe it. I am actually going out next Friday :) DH is having Chase and I am going to Fitzy's to watch Bad Boys :) oh yeah cowboys, take off your clothes and dance for me!!! The funny thing is a few of his friends do have kids but all their kids were accidents cos they are all sooooo young (well i guess 20 isn't that young but all their kids are turning 1) so the dads and mums still go out clubbing and partying because they never got to do that stuff. I dont know what Grants excuse is, mid twenties crisis for sure.
For the yoghurt I give Chase the Voaila one that is for babies 6+ months. He loves the stuff, had it today for lunch and dinner, he doesnt like the chicken I added to his vegetables when I pureed them :( Chase can sit unaided but I always put a pillow behind him because sometimes he decides he is fed up and throws himself backwards or when he is tired. He is not at the point where I would leave him sitting up by himself but i have no problem sitting him up with a pillow to catch him and leaving him to his own devices. He still loves standing even though he just wobbles side to side but when you hold his hands he starts walking, like step step step step, if he sees Grant he will start wobble walking to him.
Kylz: saw your fb status. how are you doing with J in daycare? Did you get a chance to tell them that he needs his sleep?
jaki:little boys, so frustrating lol I keep trying to give Chase steamed vegies cos i want him to try the diff textures and he is not impressed. When i dont want him to put things in his mouth he does, and when i specifically give him things to put in his mouth he just drops them off his high chair....maybe the spoon fed pear thing was a one off, how did W go today?? did he still want to be spoon fed?
iona: so glad you had a wonderful wedding i've been browsing through your wedding pictures so beautiful!
sammie: thanks, that was the good kick up the butt I needed :)
-
Yep still wants the spoon. But loving the bread still too and yesty at lunch I gave him a curly fry. It was all stuck together like a tube.
Bls is sposed to be easier as they eat what you eat, but, I don't cook mid week cause Stephen isn't here. Lol.
Have y'all noticed bubs cry muuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmm. Especially when they are newborns. It's obviously a coincidence but really pulls at those heart strings!

Just noticed the absence of my avi. Looks like my plait ran out.
