Amy - I'm a Wiggles fan, but I am with you on Dorothy and her voice and laugh!! Bailey has really gotten into Play School of late, and loves that 'Mister Maker' on ABC2, I must do more craft with him, Might have a day when we get back from the Gold Coast and die some pasta and rice to make some stuff with LOL
Vic - just looked at your ticker, cant believe Stirling is getting close to 3 months old, that went fast! I had a chuckle at Cerys comments re "I was silly - all better now". I was putting Bailz to bed before and he was poking me in the eye and banging my head with his Chuggington trains. I told him that if he couldn't be gentle I'd need to take them away. He handed them straight over and said "Bailey no gentle, Mummy take" then rubbed my head as said "Mummy Ok? Sorry Mummy". They crack me up!! At dinner time he threw his spoon with excitement across the room after us telling him off. As much as I wanted to tell him off, both Sean and I were trying not to crack up laughing and Bailey just sat there waiting to be told off as he knows the drill. Hard to tell your kid off when you have tears of laughter running down your face :)
BG - Ahhh Squealing, love it Hahahaha. Bailey gets all excited when he is playing with his trains and when he crashes them (or Lightening McQueen and Jeff Corvette) you hear him scream - OOOOOOOOhhh Nooooooooooooooo in this high pitched voice, its hilarious!!
Today we picked up our drugs for our IVF cycle, so now we wait for AF to arrive to get started. Should arrive sometime between 20th-24th, so we MAY need to start our cycle while in the gold coast, not planned but my last two cycles have been a bit shorter than my traditional 28 days (eg around the 24 day mark) so its brought this cycle forward. I'm excited, but worried that it wont work, we dont have much cash as we did when we were cycling with Bailz, so wouldn't be able to pour endless money into cycles as we might have 3 years ago. With me working part time, and the expense of having a child already, the disposable income certainly has diminished. Anyway, I do feel positive about the possibility of it working, however its more the money side of 'what to do if it doesn't work' thats bothering me rather than the emotional one. I'm sure once we start our cycle I'll be in a different headspace, but I gotta be positive, we had success with conceiving Bailz, there is no reason that cant happen again.
Taking Bailz to see one of Sean's mates who is a podiatrist tomorrow, we picked up Bailz new orthotics on Monday, and he will not wear them, but the orthotist was a bit umming and ahhing as to whether they were necessary now. I am of the opinion that they probably are not, so not going to put Bailey through the grief of getting use to them if they are not having a tangible benefit. Most kids have pretty flat feet at this age, and he doesn't turn his feet in like he used to. Seans mate will refer us to a podiatrist colleague who specialises with kids if he thinks its necessary. We are no longer seeing a physiotherapist for Baileys tone, and the orthotist seemed reliant on her diagnosis, so rather than going through the public health system, we'll just get a second opinion and go from there. Would be nice for him to be out of orthotics in time for summer. Lace up shoes with orthotics sucked for him last summer. We'll see what happens
I am looking very much forward to our Gold Coast trip this week - we go to the Wiggles on Thurs morning (cant wait, Bailz is very excited too, he desperately wants to see Sam), and then we fly to the Goldy that evening - yay. We need this holiday, this year has had its challenges for us and it will be nice to have a relaxing week and come home ready to cycle

Just off to bed but our podiatrist said that arches don't develop properly till about 4 years of age so can't tell if a child is flat footed till later (I asked because Ryan has flat feet). CJ still has inserts in her shoes but not major ones like Bailey had, so they are not too bad, she still needs them and will for a while yet - but fingers crossed Bailey gets the all clear tomorrow.
-
Thanks for replying Vic :)
-
Cheers Vic. I'm on the verge of having lost 20kgs now with a lot more to go... but I'm really enjoying it. Finding it hard to find the time o fit in everything I want to, but we'll get there.
Sorry you've had such a bad run with illness. I hope it all improves very soon! xx
-
Nicky - thats massively awesome and a fantastic achievement!! I'm in awe! I need to lose at least that - however I am lacking motivation, what got you going?
Looking at myself in bathers from our recent Gold Coast holiday is pretty good motivation for me though I must say :o

I had something happen a couple of weeks ago that has upset me a little, and I think I might just be taking things too personally and being upset for no reason. So I thought I'd see if in the same situation you girls would feel the same.
Another Mum from my mother's group has a two boys, one the same age as Kyson, and one a month younger than Shayla. We kept saying we wanted to take them all on a nice walk down to the park to have a play, but we were just waiting for my morning sickness to ease up. I messaged her one day and let her know I was planning on taking the kids to a park the next day, would she like to come? And she wrote back she'd love to and would be home around 2pm and would call me. Well it got to 4.30pm and still no word from her, so I just sent her a nice message asking if she still wanted to go today, or if she wanted to reschedule. She answered that they still hadn't made it home yet, and could we do it the next day. "Sounds great" I wrote back, and for her to sms me when she wanted to go the next day. So the next day rolls around and no word from her all day. I had taken the kids to the park the day before, but Kyson knew we were planning on going again that day so was asking about it. So around 4pm I popped the kids in the car and tried to call the friend on the way to the park. I headed to the park closest to her house in case she wanted to meet us there. I didn't get an answer. Then I arrive at the park and as I'm walking the kids into the playground I notice the Mum there with her two kids AND another Mum from mother's group with her little girl... I know those two Mum's are probably the closest in our group, but I couldn't help but suddenly feel a bit upset that even though "plans" had been made, they seemed to have been dropped in favour of "better" plans. Also, it's not like they were at some exclusive restaurant with no extra room for me and the kids. It's a playground and I couldn't help but wonder why they didn't just let me know that they were going and ask if I would like to join them? They both seemed genuinely happy that we were there, and we always get along well. It was just weird and I'm still feeling upset about it. I wish I had the type of personality that can just let this kind of stuff just go! I've been getting more and more upset lately that I don't have any close girlfriends. My only close friend hasn't lived in the same state (or country!) since before I had Kyson. I just wish I had someone that was close by that I was close to. Someone I could just call and say "let's go to the park" or "let's go grab a coffee/tea with the kids" etc. Everyone already seems to have a full social life with no room to fit me in.
Gosh, how's that for a "woe is me" moment?
-
I think your feelings are perfectly natural Krystie, I would have felt the same, especially as you were waiting to hear from her to actually go to the park
Hugs babe
Jump in the car - Bailz and I have a free day tomorrow :)
-
 im not super close but maybe in a few weeks when my work and pay settles down and my car is registered we could do something :)
-
Thanks Nay!
I'm doing the 12 week body transformation. It's fantastic! I've never stuck to anything like I have this... failed Weight watchers (twice) any shake diets only last a few days... and anything else.
This program is super motivational (which is most of the reason why I joined it). Lots of mindset lessons.
My motivation has come about since beating depression. I was talking to my counsellor about my weight more than my feleings and with the new move I knew it was just time to do it. I've got A LOT more to lose, but at least I'm part of the way there now. :)
-
Krystie: Big hugs. I don't understand why they didn't invite you either... But maybe it was an oversight and they are also feeling bad and/or embarrassed that they didn't think to invite you and the kids as well?
But I can totally relate. There were times when Phoebe was little where I felt that you guys were the only friends I had, and more than once I was so disappointed that no one lived near me. I wish you had a stronger social network closer to home, but probably this is a horrid phase that will soon be over. Friends certainly come and go and you are one of the most likable people I have ever met. You won't be on the outer for long. (If you are - hope you're not offended by my saying, but it could be you're hurting and not in such a good place emotionally and you don't realise how many people around you want you in their lives!)
Nicky: You're mega inspirational, chick. I love seeing your sporty and confident FB statuses! Even if you do have more weight to lose, feeling so fit (OMG - a whole day of tennis?! You're a nutter! LOL!) must feel sooooooo good. I am getting fitter, although not losing any weight. Probably cause my diet is dreadful and I'm struggling to overcome that. But I've been working out the last month or so and feeling really good for it. You've been a big inspiration in that! (ie reading all that you're accomplishing and thinking, y'know, it really could be possible... :) ) So thanks and congratulations. xx
Nay: Love the GC pics. Jealous here!
Girls, I have been so mega busy. I am now selling Tupperware (mainly for the discount! Is awesome!) and the last couple of weeks I've felt a bit out of my depth with everything. Fortunately things are settling down now, the pressure's off and I can cruise along a bit more. Natty has her second session of orientation for BIG school today! (OMG, I'm going to be a "school mum" :o ) and while she was incredibly shy and quite scared about it last week, this week she was up and dressed before 7am, ready to go
Phoebe is a delight. Except for the tanties. They have certainly increased in intensity (and Vic, I had to PMSL @ CJ tantruming with "please"s and "thank you"s thrown into the mix! CUTE!) and sometimes she just plain old screams. Sigh. But allllll the other stuff is so very cute. When we say goodbye to my parents lately Natty started saying goodbye calling them random pieces of fruit (ie "Bye bye, rockmelon! Bye bye, peach! etc)... don't ask... I haven't a clue. My mum plays along and now Phoebe has started joining in. It's so classic - it's no longer just fruit - she has quite an imagination on her.
Gotta go get ready for school. Talk soon. xx
-
Thanks Amy! I'm trying as hard as I can most days but having my ups and downs as people generally do. I have a blog that has pretty much everything in it including those horrible numbers... yuck. If anyone wants the address for a bit of a read let me know.
Enjoy the tupperware! You must be crazy busy lady! I'm glad you don't live near me... I've gone a little tupper-mad of late.
I hope everyone is well. Allira is good, very very trying but good. Can't believe they'll be 3 soon....
-
I swear 2 year old girls are so much worse than boys!!!!
Allira has been into everything. She bites everything. Chews books. Throws things all over the floor... cannot leave her unsupervised for more than 1 minute because the house is destroyed.
Lachie was never THIS bad... he had plenty of moments but he was not like this.
Are others having these types of issues? Maybe it's a younger child, attention seeking thing? She gets plenty of attnetion and they play together so well. I'm just sick of the mess.
-
Nicky, Most of the time I can't leave CJ unsupervised because she won't let me, she is pretty clingy at the moment (maybe adjusting to little bro?), but don't find she is destructive, can be a bit messy but normally is part of whatever game playing. So sorry no real help from me. I need to find ways to get her playing on own as seems like I always need to start her off and have limited repertoire of cafes, shops, and let's fix things.
-
I think it is a second-child-thing... It is in our case. Phoebe is heaps more destructive than Nat was. She is totally into ripping books, banging things (like yesterday she had a ceramic rabbit and was bashing it around my kitchen :o), throwing toys about. She is also a squealer. I'm thinking it's because she has to "speak up" the only way she can to be heard over Nat, KWIM? Plus the squealing happens when they are playing and Nat gets too rough. I find it hard to get cranky about it because she's only sticking up for herself. I do get cranky about the books and the banging though!

Hows tricks everyone? All is good here, DS has his 4 mth weigh in tomorrow - so will see how big he really is, seems massive! My back certainly thinks so. Went to BB meet on Friday which was cool (but very hot in temp) - and got to see Krystie and her two gorgeous little ones + bump - I said she is always pregnant when we go to the zoo! Time is going past so fast. I am occupying my mind and creative urges by becoming an MPM - just as a little hobby. (Nicki & Amy your baby books should be in the post this week - others yours should arrive soon - I am trying to start finishing things I have started and be more disciplined as is good practice for going back to work)
CJ is such a chatterbox - we get running commentary on everything - is cute but sometimes embarrassing as I don't always know how to respond to the "What's that man doing" etc. She is basically day toilet trained, but she refuses to use the toilet at daycare so is in nappies there. She says she is scared of it still - but she is fine using toilets when we are out and about she is just being an awkward Annie. I think overnight she would be ok if I got up in morning as soon as heard her wake up, as if I do that she is dry but if I lie in and listen to her read etc over the monitor she is always wet. She is getting a bit better about being shy with people when first meeting them, as long as DH or I hold her hand - she doesn't freak out.
Have started doing pilates to help my back, which is fun, and this arvo a friend is minding DS for an hour (CJ in Daycare) while I go for a swim which will be lovely. Never quite sure when to do the shopping these days, the two days I only have DS are best but in my mind seems like a waste using that time to do food shopping, online doesn't really work for me can never work out what I need until am there - the local Coles has little trolleys which CJ loves pushing so sometimes is fun going with her - that's it thanks girls have convinced myself writing this that the shopping can wait till tomorrow!!
Trying to book flights back to UK for next Aug-Sep without bankrupting ourselves - we are waiting till after Olympics but is still so expensive - me and the kids will go for 7 weeks I think (when I get back will have to go back to work part-time) and DH just the first 3 weeks. We are hoping to get up to Sydney as well at some point as all our relo's there will have had their houses in the blue mountains finished - will let you know Amy.
-
the running commentary is awesome isn't it?? said dripping with sarcasm lol. E sounds very similar to CJ - very much saying everything that is going on, and asking about everyone. "who's that? what's that man doing there?" - we answer as honestly as we can, and so far, we've received nothing but smiles from people. I've become quite adept as saying "well, it looks like the lady is doing the shopping, just like we are - but she's lucky and doesn't have a sticky beak in the trolley like we do!" lol. She is a bit shy but eventually talks to most people - or she waits until about 2 seconds after someone turns their back or we start to walk away and then asks who it was. it's very cute most of the time
Have had some issues here health wise with E - she has developed a hernia in her groin so we've been to the GP, had xrays today and back on friday to follow up. we also need to get paed appointment to see what management/treatment there is. she has been fantastic letting everyone poke at her when needed. and was awesome today while having the xray - didn't move at all. very proud of her. i think she has recognised that it hurts, and we're trying to help her. well, i'm hoping she does! she definitely isn't fighting it at all
-
Well done E! - I read your post the other day and wondered if you had found out what it was. Poor thing - must be quite bewildering for a little one.
-
-
Wow super congrats Naomi, is funny because I thought the other day you had been quiet on here and FB, and thought I wonder because people often go a bit quiet before announcements almost as if dont want to post anything in case let it slip :). July is a great month for number 2!
-
hahahahaha, funnily Vic I have typed a million cryptic FB status's and not posted them in fear of letting the cat out the bag so very true!!
What was Stirlings Due Date and Birth Date again?
-
He was due 17th July and born the 17th July - so right on time - I reckon you will be late this time (no idea why seeing as Bailey early) so I think 4th August.
I know with both mine, I kept putting off just emailing people etc until was ready to tell them - not sure why is not really like you can let it slip in an email.
-
Congratulations lovely! It's a pleasure to be pregnant with you again!! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am for you, Sean and Bailz ♥
-
you didn't avoid ALL the cryptic clues Nay! tehehehe
-
True Lee - the 'Feeling a little Rusty' one was there LOL
Shame about Ginger LOL (Lee typed Gingers Crossed to me one day instead of Fingers Crossed so it was going to be Ginger, but Sean vetoed it LOL)
We've named this one Rusty as we had 12 embryos and Brad Pitts Character in Oceans Twelve is Rusty. Bailey was Rocky as he needed to be a fighter so we've continued our movie theme LOL
We have 6 frozen embryos this time too, none last time. However we only plan to have two kids, but we'll keep these ones until we have a perfect little baby in our arms :)
-
So thrilled for you Nai! Just over the moon. You must be beside yourself with excitement. I'm with Krystie in taking pleasure in sharing another pregnancy with you. It's just wonderful. Yayayay!
-
HUGE congrats Naomi!! AMAZING news! I'm thrilled for you.
I hope you have a fantastic pregnancy. July babies are pretty awesome ;)
-
For those of you that may not have Jess on facebook, her little April arrived at 2.33pm today :)
-
Congrats to Jess. (I don't think I've ever had her on FB. lol).
Welcome to the world April.

Hi Ladies, sorry I don't post in here often, but DD1 was born in May 09. She has started stuttering and I'm wondering if any other kids born the same time have done this as well?

Hi Marushke
DD has gone through phases as her speech develops where she seems to stutter for a little while. i think she goes through leaps in understanding and gets to the point where she knows what she wants to say, is excited to say it, but her ability to keep her speech up with her brain just isn't there. it seems to get worse when tired too. it's not constant though...
-
Hi Marushke,
Have never thought of it as stuttering but DD does stutter sometimes I suppose, is when she is trying to find the words to say something, so is always when using a new phrase or words, she never does it with phrases that she knows well like "What's that man doing" is always when she is processing something new, you can almost 'see' her brain working.
-
Thanks BG. She isn't getting stuck on new words, but simple word's she has said for years, like I, mum, dad. I think her brain is running faster than her mouth. Anyway, wondering how long to let it go until we see a specialist?
-
Maruschke - Someone I know on here is a speechy - but she doesn't come on often - will drop her a line and see if she can offer any advice.
-
-
My DS doesn't seem to stutter at all, but occasionally if he is trying to structure a sentence with a new word he'll repeat one of the known words a couple of times while you can see his little brain working out where to put the new word. Sometimes he'll get the sentence wrong and start from the start again. One of the things I was getting worried about was that he misses/skips a lot of his small words. So instead of saying "going in the car" it would just be "go in car". Often he misses "to" in sentences as well. I was starting to get a little worried, but in the last week or so he's started to put them in some of his sentences and it's putting my mind at ease. I still think he's a little behind in his language compared to some of the other kids his age, but I think he's still in the "normal" range so I'm not worried. He's loving the book "Merry Christmas Maisy" at the moment and there is a page where you fold down a flap on a christmas cake and there is a little bird sitting on the cake behind the flap. He loves to say "Come on bird, get off the cake!". Then on the next page there is another bird behind a flap that he obviously thinks is also a cake because he says "Come on another bird, get off the cake!", LOL!
-
Hey Maruschke, My DS doesn't, however my brother and neice (other brother's child) are/were both stutters. My niece stuttered from about age 3, my Bro and SIL took her to see a speech pathologist who saw her briefly, however she grew out of it as her speech continued to develop. I know they were always super patient with her and reminded her to slow down and think about what she wanted to say. She was always worse when she was excited or tired.
Anyway, if you are worried, perhaps make an appt :)
-
Nay, I'm soooooo happy for you. Congratulations babe. xx
-
Hi ladies,
Sorry I've been so quiet lately. Things have been a little stressful here the last few weeks. DH's dad has been ill for quite some time with a range of things including cancer and persistent recurring respiratory illnesses. He's been in and out of hospital a few times over the past 6 or more months, but just over a week ago he was admitted into palliative care. He once again has pneumonia and this time they are not treating it at all as his lungs are so bad he wouldn't respond anyway. Family were called in last Monday as he wasn't expected to make it much longer, but he is a fighter and he is still with us. He hasn't eaten or drank anything in six days now, and is not on any form of IV nourishment or hydration. He's literally just getting morphine and some mild sedation to keep him comfortable. We're being told that he is unconscious, but there are time when we can tell that he is at least partially aware. I took the babies in again yesterday (luckily they are young enough that they won't remember their Papa like this in the hospital) and he always seems to perk up slightly when we have them there. When DH told him that they were there his eyebrows raised slightly and he moved his mouth a little. He always likes to give the kids head rubs, so DH told him he'd give them both a good head rub for him, and he actually moved his head very slightly (like a small nod) and his hand moved too. So I'm convinced that on some level he is aware at times of what is going on around him.
I had an odd feeling all day yesterday that today would be the day he passed away, and I still feel like tonight might be the night. I'm really sad to see him go, but I'll also be happy for him when he's at peace. It's funny the memories that stand out in you head when you think about certain people. I will always remember how no matter how pregnant I am, or even if I am actively breastfeeding one of my kids at the time, he would always offer me a scotch. Not because he thought I would actually accept, but just that for him it would have felt rude for him not to offer. He's had an amazing life and is such a strong person. He moved his family to Australia from India when DH was just a toddler, and then helped organise to bring every other family member to Australia as well. Nearly every family member now lives in Australia. What a wonderful start he gave to the lives of his children and other family members ♥

Oh Krystie, thinking of you babe, must be especially hard for DH too. Hope he passes peacefully when its his time and I'm glad you have will have wonderful things to remember him by xxxxx
