I got most of mine from ebay, second hand. They hold their condition really well, mine still look like new.
So in love with my beco baby carrier - we went out last night and Alex was in the carrier, he slept for a good couple of hours, woke for a feed and a bit of a chat to our friends, then went back into the carrier and straight back to sleep until it was time to go home, slept all the way home too :)
Yeah ebay here too. I got 4 for $100 odd brand new, when 1 costs that much in the shops!
Lilly is so much like a grown kid now >.> She goes to bed at 6:30pm (well 5:30pm now seeing as daylight savings is over) has a bath, bottle and story (loves reading!) and puts herself to sleep. Sleeps till about 4:30am when she wakes for a feed then back to sleep till 7am.
She has 2 sleeps during the day and puts herself to sleep for both of those now as well.
Wow, Lolpigs - that'd be bliss! Mind you, Alex slept from when we got home around 1am to about 6am, woke for a feed then slept again until 8am! I on the other hand kept fidgeting because my boobs were very full and a bit uncomfortable.
We're gradually sorting out his day sleeping, which is making getting him to bed easier. He's a monkey, if you miss his tired signs (usually ear pulling, then eye rubbing and yawning) he goes into a hyperactive overtired state and is super hard to settle down.
We have our bad times of course, but its usually because I've done the same thing and missed the tired signs or we ahve guests and she goes to bed a little late then its harder to get her to sleep. Her afternoon sleep is still a little hit and miss, but I will get at least an hour. sometimes she needs resettlign halfway through.
I'll definitely try eBay then! Yay!!! I think I'll try I get unisex ones so I can use them for the next baby too...
CK same! If I miss the tired signs or we happen to be somewhere out where she can't go to bed, she becomes so hyper and noisy and wriggly and yeah heaps hard to get her to sleep!
Lolpigs um GO lilly!!! That's amazing!
Violet goes to bed at 7, I give her a dream feed at 10ish, then she not ally wakes at 2 for a feed, then at about 5 and then pretty well wants to be up from 5! Ha.
Just a random side thought- I was thinking the other day about mobile phones, how your not really meant to have them too close to you all the time (er, guilty there) and thought for a baby with a tiny growing body- surely it's got to be bad for them? I've started keeping mine in another room cos I can imagine with so much growing, that the radiation even at low levels can't be good... I was thinking that there really hasn't been a generation of babies grow up yet enough to know if mobiles being near them a lot is a problem.. Just a thought..
Personally I think you're likely to get more radiation from a microwave or tv than phones - I dunno, I'm a definite skeptic on the radiation thing. Mind you, I tend to be the sort that has my phone nearby but not glued to it...
Yeah I wouldnt worry unless your glued to it.
The earth emits more radiation than your phone :) as do the bricks your house is made of. Not trying to make you more paranoid, just trying to put it in perspective :)
We are teething atm, so miserable alot. Shes doing well with her night sleeps so not worrying too much about days. Trying to get her to go to bed at 7 but seems 5 (previously 6) is preffered lol shes doing well :)
Starting phototherepy for my skin hoping it will fix it

Ohhh good thanks girls, you made me feel better!!! I didn't realize it was relatively insignificant! Heh I'm not glued to it- but definitely keep it in the same room as me all the time!
Darn daylight savings ending- has definitely got missy confused!
Lolpigs- hope Lilly's toothypegs aren't too bad.. Aww....
Morning girls!
Well in addition to learning to roll over (both back to front and front to back now) Alex has learned to roll to a destination and is trying to push himself up on his arms to move around the room. More often than not instead of going forwards he goes backwards at the moment though, but that's just a matter of time before he's combat crawling.....EEEK! He's also acquired the squeal. My goodness is it piercing, but he thinks it's the funniest thing ever and cracks up laughing whenever he does it. Cheeky monkey :)
Hope you're all doing well and getting some sleep.
Note to self, dont mention how well lilly does at day sleeps, sure fire way to make sure she stops sleeping during the day LOL
Eeek Ck! Lilly seems to have lost interest in moving for now, mostly keen on talking atm ;)
Notice I didn't say anything about sleep - don't want to jinx it!
And he managed to cross the loungeroom this morning. He pushes his legs up underneath and grinds his face along the floor half the time, but managed to cover a good couple of metres. I'm going to go down to Bunnings today and see if I can find some foam play squares to make a mat to cover the fluffy carpet as I'm sick of picking out carpet guff from his fingers and toes.
LOL yes well mum is the word on all sleep in future haha
Wow, hes sure keen to get moving! Lilly seems to want to walk and sit up, shes been spending lots of time in the Jolly jumper and sitting up when I put her upright. Not moving anywhere yet though... I keep expecting to look over and just see her standing one day cheeky monkey
I saw those on sale the other day CK at baby village for $30 a packet might be worth a look, are you going to get a baby cage? thats what DH calls a play pen. I might need one for this place we are in now as nothing can be put away to protect her when she does start to move.
Edit: My gro egg that I got second hand from ebay arrived today :) Wew at $40. Love it and realise now my old themometor was WAY off, no wonder she was unsettleed in the evenings.. stupid thing! Its 29 Degrees atm with a :(
I ended up getting a lovely big rug with Mickey Mouse, Donald and Pluto on it :) Nice and soft and not as flufftastic as the carpet - it gives off a bit just cause it's new, but I'm vacuuming it every morning. It'll go in his bedroom later on once it's no longer needed in the loungeroom.
We are looking at a playpen, not to put Alex in but to put the TV and playstation into  The theory being that aside from a couple of gates across areas we don't want him getting into, he has the run of the rest of the house. We've also got a new lounge suite being delivered week after next, which is a large corner unit with chaise and ottoman so should be good for him to cruise along when he gets to that point.
Hi everyone.
Levi has been doing great, makes a lot more sounds now. He's so cute.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Sounds Lovley CK. Lilly seems to be sorting out daylight savings now, moving her evening bedtime closer to 7pm which is great as it means she gets to see daddy at the end of the day when he gets home from work. DH just applied for a snazzy new job please keep everything crossed he gets it as it means instead of moving to a new rental in a few months time we can move back into our own home :)
Amumma glad Levi is doing well :) We are still planning on a new bub once Lilly is 12mths old.
That is a fabulous idea about penning off the TV etc, I think I'll do that too. When we move we are looking for a place where DH can put all his computer gear in a room and lock it, but TV etc can just have a pen :)
Hope everyone is well :)
Heh, I did it with DD as she just started crawling around Christmas - straight for the tree and all the presents! It was much easier to put the tree and the presents in the pen and let her roam the house than try keeping her in one spot :) I figure I've got about another month or so before Alex starts, if I'm lucky - he's SOOOOO determined to get moving and is getting really frustrated that he can't quite do it. So we've started by putting the gate across the laundry door so the cat can get used to it as we feed the cat in there and that's where the kitty litter is, so definitely out of bounds for Alex. Once he's properly mobile I'll look at getting the pen.
Crossing everything your DH gets the new job :)
Hope he gets the new job lolpigs! That would be awesome!! :)
CK I told DH about Alex grinding his face along the floor trying to crawl, he laughed :) violet does the same if we put out hands behind her feet so she has something to push off! Makes all sorts of noise with all the effort involved!
K&G- we tried violet out of her love to swaddle wrap last night- took about an hour to get her to go to sleep haha, but it worked! Her little hands definitely distract her! It helps if you have any of the bonds wonder suits it similar onesies where the hand folds over creating a mitten!
